The warm breeze really lifted this Ravenclaw's mood. With his Sapphire Streak in his hand, and his green eyes sparkled in the sunlight as he made his way down to the Quidditch Pitch. Austin Devearux had hoped to see Arianna here but since she was a Hufflepuff, it was her own choice if she came and watched the Captain direct orders and such. Austin made sure his Quidditch robes were nice and fit, and his badges were on the right places, and he was ready to get this show on the road! The Prefect mounted his room, and with a wave of his wand, the crate of Quidditch equipment was set out for everyone to see and hopefully this would not be something he would need to explain a few times. He did a few laps around the pitch, and by the time he was on the ground, three students had arrived to try out. Nothing more but a smile crept onto his lips. He was happy that there would be a whole team for the Ravens.
OOCOut of Character: Instructions
All right! New team members for the win! What I want you all to do is come by and greet, and wait for instructions. I might allow first years to try out, however, if you are a first year, simply PM me with reasons why you want to be on the team. Just because you PM me, does not mean that you can post here. Wait until I say to, okay? Otherwise, second years and official team members come and join!
And yes, I copied my own instructions from the Gryffindor team to this one, because well, I RP both captains. :r

Justin Cliffeton walked out onto the Quidditch Pitch. He had wanted to try out for the Quidditch team for a while now, and now that he was a Prefect he finally had gotten around to doing this. He only wanted to be a Chaser for now, because he didn't think he was ready to be anything else. With his Sienna Storm in his hand, he stopped infront of one of the Quidditch Captains, who was a boy he had met during the Prefects meeting, Austin he thought his name was. Justin shrugged and wondered what he would have to do next. He was the first person here, but he knew it was probably best that he should introduce himself. "Hey, uhm, I'm Justin Cliffeton and I'm here to try out for Chaser." He said, smiling brightly.

Jeremy still hadn't gotten around to sending an owl to his mother asking her to send on his quidditch gear. He'd searched his dorm room high and low for it, but it was nowhere to be found. He would have to settle for using his old, battered gear. At least it was only try-outs. Making his way out to the pitch, Jeremy was glad that he at least had his own broom to work with. It was an old, very old, Cleansweep that has father had used when he'd joined a league at his job and that he no longer had time to use.

Jeremy would be trying out for a Chaser position again. He rather liked playing in that spot and he believed he'd gotten pretty alright playing there. The ravenclaw nodded to his Captain. "Hey Austin. Trying out for Chaser again" he said easily before nodding to the other people on the pitch waiting. He wasn't anywhere near as nervous as he had been last year when he'd been standing in the same position. It felt good to be standing there, not particularly worried about getting up there and flying with everyone else.

Beth arrived at the Quidditch pitch with a great smile on her face. She had made the team in her last year, and so she was hopeful that she stood a chance to make it again, this year. She had been quite busy lately, what with having to run the Hogwarts Monthly, and all. Austin was the team captain, and she smiled warmly at him as she spoke "Beth Bastone," she began optimistically, "trying out for Chaser." She enjoyed the thought of a Chaser position on a team, more than most of the other positions; Seekers were the highly skilled, speedy people, and Beth was well aware that she would not be able to pull off all the maneuvers that Seekers did. As for Beaters, Beth wasn't fond of purposely injuring others. A Keeper was the only other position that Beth liked the idea of, though that didn't involve as much action.

Sara was very nervous, she had been good at flying in the lessons during First year, and she had practised during the Summer, but she was still nervous. She had a nimbus 2001, which had been bought over the Summer, when her parents had discovered her new-found love for flying. She wasn't sure if she was very good, but she and her friend Gil had said they would try out. She wasn't sure if Gil was still going to go, but she loved it. Especially the speed, which was why she was trying out for seeker, she really thought it would suit her, as she was quite small, slim and flexible. She also thought she might go for chaser, if she didn't get seeker. She was feeling worse and worse as she walked down to the pitch, but she wouldn't allow herself to turn back. She bowed her head, hiding her face with her hair as she passed the older students. She knew her broom was in the broom closet, stacked neatly against the wall. Even now, after she had flown it so much, she felt excited at the prospect. "Hello, I'm Sara Moon." she said quietly, smiling at the Captain, her faux-confidence beginning to come through, though it was tinted with the real confidence, the confidence she felt on stage. She flashed her pearly whites, but quickly bowed her head once more. She dropped her head forward, so that her hair would fall over her shoulder and quietly looked at the other students, they were older than her, and probably more experienced. Sara didn't know it, but she was good on a broom, but she might not be good enough...

Kamaria fastened her Prefect badge to her chest, and she was dressed in her Quidditch robes so that she could try out again for a position on the team. She grasped her new Sapphire streak and she ran out to the pitch. Rather than trying out for Chaser, she was going to go for Keeper. She thought about being a seeker, but she did not want that. She ran through the corridors, fixing her long hair into a ponytail along the way. She soon felt the sunshine and she felt better than ever before. Kara made her way through the lawns and she appeared before the Captain himself, before she smiled and said, "Kamaria Zhefarovich, trying out for keeper." Kara combed her hair with her fingers for a moment, making sure that it was all out of her way so that she would not be distracted with her hair while she was trying out for a spot on the team. She really wanted to be on it this year.

Llheione made her way toward the Quidditch Pitch, she had heard that try outs are on going and she wanted to try out for the team. She had missed flying and her mother wont allow her to fly at the backyard because they live in a muggle suburban. Now that she is back at Hogwarts, she will have time to fly and be in the team as well. Llheione took a broomstick out of the broom closest, reminding herself to owl her father to send a new broomstick for her. She actually does not mind an old broom but if she is going to make the team then she have to have a new fast broomstick.

Making her way at the center of the pitch where the others are, she noticed that the field is not used for ages like in games except for flying lessons for first years. "Hello. Llheione Cole here to try out for the Beater position." Llheione announced at the captain which she recognized from a long time ago. Seeing as there is not that many Ravenclaws yet, she sat at the grassy ground and placing her broomstick in front of her on the ground as well.

It was Logan's day off from classes and today instead of spending it studying or something dull like that he was heading over to the Quidditch pitch, to try out for the team again. He had made it last year and had enjoyed playing so he wanted to do it again this year. It was a good way for him to get away from lessons and studying and do something fun and enjoyable. As he reached the pitch he saw a few of his house mates already there. He walked over and spotted one of his friends, Jeremy. He went over and stood next to him. He turned to Austin and smiled slightly. "Im trying out for beater again Austin." He said to him before looking at Jeremy. "Alright." He greeted before taking a quick look around at some of the other students who were trying out. Some were new and others were already on the team last year. He hoped he made it again this year.

Lucy wasn't sure what she was doing, exactly. She hadn't played Quidditch in such a long time, but she was going to go out on a limb and try again. Tying her blonde locks back in a black ribbon, Lucy slipped on some sneakers and jogged down the stairs to the Quidditch Pitch, with a little more purpose than she had shown in the last...well, since the funeral. She needed to get out and do something like fly, something to get her blood pumping and take her mind off everything. Between that and study, she figured she'd cope.

Clutching her Sienna Storm (she was going to have to buy a new broomstick - maybe if she got on the team, she decided), Lucy stood proud and tall with the other students...only her eyes giving away her nervousness and sorrow. She hadn't flown in a while and while she didn't think she had forgotten, she was worried she'd be a bit rusty.

"Hi," she said, quietly. "Um. I'm Lucy...Lucinda Buckley. I'm here to try out for Beater...or Seeker. Or, you know, wherever you want me." Beater would be a good outlet, she reasoned, but she was pretty versatile. Seeker was alright too, she'd done that before.

Thomas was excited for today. This was going to be his last year that he could try out, and hopefully play, for the Ravenclaw Quidditch Team and he could only hope that they would get to play a few games this year because it seemed liked so long ago that the school had managed to organise a few games for the house teams. There was only so much that he could get out of practices, he wanted to feel the adreneline of a real game again before he graduated because after that, chances were he'd never get to play Quidditch in a competitive way again - sure he'd still fly about but nothing like a game of Quidditch. Arriving on the pitch, he looked around and saw the number of people that turned out, it could be a good year for Ravenclaw. "Hey Austin. I'm trying for beater again." he said to the new Head Boy.

Austin watched the team come forth, and he was proud that he could have more to choose from than before. This was just so pleasing to Austin. He got out a clipboard, and he started to give out directions after a kind greeting, "Hey guys, all right, got you all written down here. So, let's get back to business, shall we?" Austin knew that those on the team the previous year will have a better chance on this year. "After you all do two laps around the pitch, one at moderate speed and the other at top speed; Justin, Jeremy and Beth, I want you to take a Quaffle where I have it laid out, and go to the sky. Kamaria, go to the South hoops and guard against their throws. Llheione, Logan and Thomas, get the beater's bats and go bat around some bludgers. I'll release four. Finally, Sara and Lucinda, what I want you two to do is take to the skies, and I will release a few golden snitches. A total of seven. Catch as many as possible as soon as possible." Austin glanced over at the team, and he knew that some would not get the position that they tried out for, because Austin was going to end up being fair. But every team needed alternates.
OOCOut of Character: What to do
Pretty much, just follow Austin's instructions! Please make the RP as creative as possible. The better it is, the better chances you will get on the Raven's team. :)

Justin listened as the instructions were given out, ready for what was about to happen. He grabbed a Quaffle and mounted his broom as Kamaria flew over to the hoops to attempt to block all of their throws. He was ready for her though, and he was certain that he would be able to get it in. He was certain that he had a good chance, just like everyone else there. Just because Justin hadn't taken first year flying and the rest of them had doesn't mean that they had any kind of advantage on him, he was prepared and he had been practicing quite a bit in order to get ready for this, and he wasn't going to let himself down.

To warm himself up he did a couple of laps around the Quidditch Pitch, and then headed towards the centre of the Pitch where he watched and waited as a couple of other people who were trying out for Seeker and the ones who were trying out for Beater. He could see how hard everyone else was trying and he was going to give just as much effort. Justin smiled, and flew up to the same level as the keeper was at. Justin started flying in the direction of the keeper, faking left and right. Justin flew towards the right, but faked left and hoped that she would get distracted enough and threw it towards the right hoop.

Sara smiled as they were given their instructions, this was the fun part. She smiled as the Captain directed that she was to try out for seeker. She looked over at the other girl. She was pretty, older than Sara and she looked like she knew what she was doing. Sara was suddenly nervous, but still ran toward the broom cupboard emerging, holding her nimbus 2001. She smiled and quickly mounted, soaring upward. She felt so open and free in the air, but she quickly righted herself, from her upward arch and straightened out. She began flying around the pitch, at a leisurely speed, immediately she made sure she was in time with the others, so that she wouldn't crash into anyone. she smiled as she felt the breeze on her face, but she made sure she was flying straight, bending around corners and once or twice ducking as a bird flew past. She flew the first lap easily, without too much difficulty, but it was the second lap she was looking forward to. Upon reaching her starting point once more, she shot like a rocket. Speeding ahead from her starting point Sara could see stands passing at the speed of lightening. her t-shirt billowing in the strong wind formed by her movement. she found that it was harder to control the broom. Surprising though, she found also that her strength was adequate and she actually found it quite easy. She zoomed around. Going in and out between the goalposts and laughing out loud from the exhileration of it all. She stopped swiftly once she reached her original starting point once more. It was a clean, clear break. Stopping mid-air. Not lurching or falling, simply stopping, her body also, as though she were part of her broom. From here she went, like a dart into the air. Her chin leaning against her broom and her hair flying out of it's bobbin, flying back behind her, her brunette locks catching the sunlight and spreading out on her back. Once she was high enough, she began to look around the pitch. Seeing a glint of gold she chased after it, Diving, head first into the cool air. She pulled up, next to the snitch, she reached out to grab it, but faster than the speed of lightening it sped away. She chased after it, spread out on her broom and she caught up with it. She snatched at it, catching the cool gold . She stuffed it in her pocket and streaked upward to survey the pitch, Suddenly, she heard a low buzzing beside her and turned to see a snitch right beside her. She turned toward it and whizzed after it as it sped away. She passed by the goalposts, where some of the other kids were blocking shots and the snitch passed around one of the posts. The Goalkeeper was beside it, so ducking her head low, Sara dived, straight through the hoop.

Without pausing to look back, she kept going, chasing the snitch all the way to the other end of the pitch. Then, upov looking skyward, she lost sight of it in the sun. She looked around, but could not find it. She looked around the pitch for the other seeker, whom she had not encountered yet.

Jeremy listened to the Captain intently. He didn't want to miss anything he said and then have to ask someone else later. And, he was very eager to make the team. Quidditch made him relaxed and happy, and it had helped him physically as well. Even though he was still super skinny, he was growing stronger and more agile because of the sport. Grabbing his broom, Jeremy took to the sky quickly beginning his first lap. It didn't take any effort anymore and he was glad to see that none of his skills had been lost during his hectic summer. With all of the moving around, Jeremy hadn't had the opportunity to practice any. Finishing up his lap, Jeremy moved his body closer to the broom as he began to speed up. Right away he felt that the broom was moving slightly left of where he was pointing it and he knew he'd have to keep that in mind. He'd have to send an owl to his dad asking for permission to buy his own broom. These school ones were not good enough.

The lap passed easily enough despite his broom's slight trouble. Jeremy wasn't surprised though. That was the easy part. Now was the harder part. Picking up a quaffle, Jeremy glanced at the other two trying for Chaser. They were each built differently and Jeremy wondered what Austin might be looking for. If it was strength, Jeremy knew he wasn't stronger than the other two. He liked to think he was faster though. As he tucked the quaffle under his arm, Jeremy turned to face the Southern hoop. Before he could even get moving, Jeremy spotted a bludger flying at him. He shot forward, hoping to leave it behind. It quickly caught up and Jeremy did some quick manuevering, first going high and then shooting low to keep away from it until one of the beaters hit it away. Jeremy drew closer to the hoop and looped around as he reached under his arm where he had the quaffle tucked. Taking it in his hand, Jeremy reached back and let it fly towards the middle hoop as he continued flying parallel to the hoops and looped around again.

Beth had not hesitated in kicking off the ground and rising fast into the air. Such a thrill she got just from the feeling of being up so high with nothing to support her but the slender broom. The instructions were fresh in her mind, as was her desire to succeed at making the team. She knew she wasn't the best player in the world, but her love for the sport urged her on to work hard and to practice and improve. She completed the first lap at moderate speed, enjoying the feel of the breeze through her hair. Some day, Beth would try out for a professional Quidditch team. She flung herself forwards on her broom in an attempt to complete the laps faster than she would normally. She really did need to put her all into this tryout, and every practice session and game that followed. Providing she made the team. Holding tight onto the thought of playing in the house games, of speeding around players, dodging bludgers and witnessing the warring Seekers going for gold, she imagined what it would feel like to lob the quaffle through one of the giant hoops and be a contributing factor to Ravenclaw winning a match.

For the time being, however, she managed to gain possession of the quaffle and clutched it tightly beneath her arm. She was not going to show off any of the tricks she had picked up along the way- team work and skill was what she should be demonstrating, today, and performing tricks like loops and swoops was not going to earn her a position on the team any faster. She had respect for those trying out alongside her, and she liked to think they all had an equal chance at making the team. She allowed herself enough time to build up speed towards the hoops, focussing on the keeper. She could do this. She had to do this. Bracing herself, she sped towards the rings, aiming for the central hoop but turning at the last minute and scooping the large ball from beneath her arm, threw it with all her might towards the right ring. Beth watched it sailing for the goal, hoping that it would go through, while she began flying side to side. It was a tactic she planned to use to avoid any bludgers. She could hear one not too far away, but it fortunately didn't seem to be heading in her direction.

Lucy needed to get her bearings, first. It had been a long time since she'd been up in the air, and as the other seeker was so much younger than her, she figured she'd give her a little bit of time to practice before she really moved in for competition.

Steadily, Lucy ascended to the sky, filling her lungs with fresh air. She'd missed this. As her hair whipped around her neck, she felt a smile crawling across her face, her lips twitching in joy. It was so relaxing to be back up in the air, she felt so free. As if she had left all her worries back on the ground.

But now was no time to relax. She had a job she had to be doing, and so, narrowing her eyes, she began to do laps around the pitch. Just a couple of laps, speeding up as she went, enough to get herself warmed up, before rising to the same level as the other girl. Vision was the key, now, as well as speed. Lucy thanked her lucky stars that she'd been blessed with 20/20 eyesight. Speed was no problem - while Lucy was tall, she was also light, and her broom just happened to be a couple of models ahead of the younger girl's, which meant she could move that little bit faster. Still, the younger girl showed a lot of promise, and Lucy was going to have to try very hard to prove herself in this situation.

Suddenly, a glint of gold appeared in the corner of her eye, and Lucy was off like a rocket, speeding after it - darting and weaving around other players and following its path. Chasing the Snitch was always a total adrenaline rush, and while it left one feeling utterly drained afterwards, the activity in itself was ridiculously fun.

She blinked, and the snitch was gone. Swearing underneath her breath, Lucy rose up that little bit further, keeping an eye on the proceedings and looking around madly. She was going to get that Snitch. Clenching her teeth, Lucy watched and waited.

The sixth year Ravenclaw girl listened at the captain as he gave some direction on what to do. Llheione nodded once her name was mentioned and two more other guys names who are competing on the same title of being the beater for the Ravenclaw house team. Once everyone is instructed, one by one, flew up in the clear sky of spring. As everyone was in mid-air, she finally took off, riding a borrowed broomstick from the school. Llheione's mother promise her a new one and will be sent to her, before the school year game.

She took her first lap rounding up to the left side of the pitch and to the right side. Llheione made the first lap steady and balance, as well as the speed into moderate, after all, it was the captain's suggestion and she is just obeying it. Once she got at the starting point again, Llheione did her second and last lap with speed and gently glide around the three hoops at the left part of the pitch and back with great speed again.

Llheione then went back down gracefully to take a beater's bat from the equipment trunk and flew up again, taking a great shot for the release of the bludgers. She saw the captain finally releases the bludgers and snitch and Llheione know its her time to take action for her to win the spot of being a beater. "Let's do this." She muttered under her breath and zoom towards the up coming bludger that is towards one of the chasers, Llheione counted up to three and smacked the bludger's living day light with great force. She might be looking like a stick figure, she has hidden strength as well.

As the try outs went on, Llheione made five bludgers flew off of the chasers and she was tired now, but, of course, on her calculation she can last long for an hour game if she ate a good breakfast mean, and she did. Llheione does not know when will the try outs will end but she will try to fight at the bludgers for the longest time she wanted.

Logan watched as others turned up. Looked like he would have a bit of competition, he didn't mind it was all good fun to him. As Austin began to talk to everyone Logan turned his attention to him to listened to what he was saying. As instructions were given out to different players Logan listened to what he had to do, it seemed pretty easy. Just a bit of flying and beating a bludger or two in someone direction. Easy.

The teenager hoped on to his broom and kicked off from the ground and began flying. As he was told to do Logan fly a lap at moderate speed. It was as easy as walking for him and he didn't so much wobble. The next lap was just as easy although the high speed made him smile slightly as the wind whipped through his hair. The lap did not take much time at all and soon after the match began. Chasers were flying around and the seeker after the snitch. Looking out for the bludgers Logan took a tight grip on his bat and whacked a bludger in the opposite direction. He took off on his broom again to head for more bludgers, batting them away and so on. It was really quite fun for him to be doing, certainly beat studying. By the end of the try out Logan arm was feeling a little swore, he had batted a whole load of bludgers and he had been his by one or two but it was nothing which wouldn't heal. He was just hoping that he would ace the test and get accepted on to the team again.

Kara grabbed her streak, mounted it and took to the pitch to start her laps. Flying on this broom was the most amazing thing she had ever experienced in her life! Kara almost giggled, because she was going so fast, and she knew that it was not the top speed of this at all. Kara finished her laps with amazing speed. Her handle on this broom was incredible. Though she would not really need speed with what she was going to be doing. Kara went to the south hoops as Austin had directed. She breathed a bit, and she went to the middle hoop. She smirked over at the other Prefect, Justin. She wondered if he would be able to shoot with all that hair that might be getting in his way. Kara thought with some competition in her mind, No one will be able to get past these hoops. Kara did get competitive from time to time, and that was just natural.

Rather than going to the left and right, she would stay right at the middle, and her silver eyes narrowed at the chaser wannabe. She smirked when the quaffle was thrown, and she caught it, before throwing it back to him. "Nice try, Cliffeton!" Kara called out, before she turned her eyes to look at another chaser. But her eyes were not on Jeremy, which ended up going to the middle hoop, and scoring. She went through the hoops, and caught the quaffle on the other side. She threw it back to Jeremy, and she cursed herself for watching the other girl and not the younger boy. Kara ended up blocking another one, even though it came too close for comfort. She threw the quaffle back to Beth, and she breathed out a sigh. Keeper was not an easy task! But she knew how to be a Chaser, but like last time, she wasn't that good, so that was why she was going for Keeper this year. The Prefect waited for the next quaffles to come toward her.
