Hi guys! Here I have an awesome poll......

Ilana and I were arguing over this, so we made it into a poll.

Obviously this is the dullest xD

Bear in mind that I'm a 'Nautilus Singer'. And have to sing it at some assemblies with the rest of the Southern Hesperides (that's our real name.) Yawn.

Also, it's really slow and long.
This is the ship which poets feign,
sails the unshadowed main.
The ventrous barque which flings on the sweet summer winds, it's purple wings.
In gulfs enchanted where the siren sings,
And coral reefs lie bare.
Where the cold sea maidens rise to sun their streee-ee-eaming hair.

<slow musical interlude>

It's web of living gauze no more unfurl,
Wrecked is the ship of pearl.
And every chambered cell
Where it's dim dreaming life was wont to dwell.
As the frail tenant shaped it's glowing shell,
Before thee lies revealed,
It's irised ceiling rent
It's sunless cry-ii-ipt insealed.

<more slow music>

Stole with soft steps its shiiining archway through
Built up it's idle door.
Stretched in it's last found home and knew the old the old no mooooore.

<music>

Build thee more stately mansions,
Oh, my, soul,
As the swift season's roll..
Leave thy low vaulted past,
Leave thy low vaulted past,
Let each new temple nobler than the last.
Shut thee from heaven with a dome, more, vaaast!

Build thee more stately mansions,
Oh, my, soul.
'Till thou at length are freee-ee
Leaving, thy outworn shell,
Leaving, thy outworn shell,
By lifes unresting sea. By life's unresting... unresting seeeeeaaaaaa........................!!!!!!!!!!!

<pupils sigh 'thank goodness it's over'>

Raise your voices,
Raise them high!
Sing to South School and here's why:
Look to South School and you'll see
Young leaders of society.

Community of learners, strive to understand!
Caring for each other, working hand in hand!
Preparing for the future, reaching for the sky,
Building a bright tomorrow, together you and I!

The words in this are just, it sounds like a kindergartner wrote it!

I think you guys are seriously underestimating your school songs.
At least your songs are ones espically made for the school. Ours is literally sung to the tune of Be Our Guest.
Now I can't even remember the words to the normal song.

Do Your Best, Do Your Best,
Put Your Brain power to the test.
Bring your jotter and your pencil
And the Staff provide the rest.
Always Keen to Impress,
Then You'll not be second best.
If you don't this is likely
Don't be shy just ask the
Headie

We can Sing, We can Dance
Well you are in Notre Dame
The Opportunities are all for you to see.
[[[Can't remember this line,]]]
Do you best, do your best.

It repeats a few times, but thats more or less it

Mine.

We had a school song but it was so bad we never sang it. I can't remember but half the words were nonsensical and I think the refrain was like "navy blue and green! navy blue and green!"

But yeah. We stuck with the school hymn instead. :p

Livi! I thought you liked our school song! You do like our school song! lol Cheat!

Uh, no it doesn't sound good. TBH we have three school songs, one is okay and the others are rubbish. And I officially dislike our song. S.

Not even the Southern Hesperides can make it mildly fun.

My grade school had a song.
It was pretty pimp.
Went as thus:
School Song said:
Cheer cheer for old Dougall dear
Wake up the echoes cheering her name
Send the volley, cheer on high
Shake down the thunder from the sky

Whether the odds be great or small
Old Dougall school will win over all
While her loyal sons are marching
Onward to Victory!
Of course, they had to destroy this version with the somewhat politically correct version (though, note, that the school is still identified in the feminine) which went as follows:
School Song said:
Cheer cheer for old Dougall dear
Wake up the echoes cheering her name
Send the volley, cheer on high
Shake down the thunder from the sky

Whether the odds be great or small
Old Dougall school will win over all
While her loyal students march
Multi-Culturaly!
Multiculturally? Seriously? What the eff?
Silly Canada.

(Note: Our song, tune, and lyrics were ripped from the Notre Dame Victory Song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L9xsdQh757g#t=00m34s xD )

Hehe.
I just found out that my high school has/had a school song, too. :o
It's not quite up to date, but here it be:
Song said:
Sing the acclaim
Of a school whose fair name
We will ever revere and adore.
Mid all the rest
Massey always is best
And we'll see that she leads ever more.
Oh ! Hail to the white
And the dark blue and light;
May our cheers through the years never fail.
For there's nothing in this world
No matter how you try,
Can be better than
The days we spend at M.C.I.

Win.

As poetry, Ilana's school song sucks. The OGHS one isn't bad, although outdated.

But when it comes to a song, and asking which is dullest, you need to hear it to compare. I can totally imagine the Chambered Nautilus dragging on forever and everyone wishing it would be over. But after hearing some old OGHS girls singing other school songs, I reckon you can deal with one long and boring one. My friends made the others sound pretty good.

I remember Bayfield's song being pretty rubbish. We usually sang "Lean on Me" or "Stand By Me" instead, because people knew the words. They put the words to the school song up, but we pretended we couldn't read them so we didn't have to sing it. Muhahaha.

I had the chambered nautilus stuck in my head for a year after i left the school. Only the first line. Over. And over. But our school song is bad.
Light up the darkness of my mind
Give me true faith and hope and love
Help me to really know you lord
that I may live according to your will

*Chorus*
For you are my god and my all *Clap clap, clap clap*
Lord I will praise your name.
For you are my god and my all *Clap clap, clap clap*
Lord I will praise your name.

Blest are you Lord in all you've made,
The summer breeze the winter snow
In brother sun and sister moon
your beauty is reflected everywhere

etc, etc

And remember Balmacewens?
Life is like a rollercoaster
With it's up and downs!
One day your life is full of smiles
The next its full of frowns
I can't remember the next bit

*Chorus*
Balmacewen, Balmacewen,
Where friends are there for you and me....
Balmacewen, Balmacewen,
The greatest little place
There's always a friendly face,
Balmacewen is the place for me!

*squeals* I LOVED THE BALMAC SONG!!!!!!!!!! I JUST STARTED SINGING IT AND OMG MEMORIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And words...
Life is like a rollercoaster
With it's up and downs!
One day your life is full of smiles
The next its full of frowns
The road you're on is straight and narrow
Till you hit the bends,
The people who will pull you through are Balmacewen Friends!

*Chorus*
Balmacewen, Balmacewen,
Where friends are there for you and me....
Balmacewen, Balmacewen,
The greatest little place
There's always a friendly face,
Balmacewen is the place for me!

ZOMG that was awesome. But it's annoying when its stuck in your head -_-

The Balmacewen one definitely sounds dodgy. But come on, if not a little pretty, you have to admit the Chambered Nautilis can be amusing. I mean, what on earth has it got to do with anything?

However, I have to argue with you Choir girls. You get the words, but this song is nothing without the Orchestra! Or at least the piano . . .

That sounded lame, but you have to give us some credit.

OLIVIA! :O HOW DARE YOU MOCK THE CHAMBERED NAUTILUS!

I absolutely LOVE the Chambered Nautilus, it's so symbolic and pretty.
It's not dull or boring :(
When you get to year thirteen, that song is gonna stick to you, and you're gonna cry...

[Real Life: *Lita now has tears in her eyes*]

And you're gonna miss your time at OGHS and you're gonna start wondering where the past five years
of your life went at that school.

You have no idea how much I miss OGHS, and the choir, and the school song and the library and everything.

[*Lita is now bawling her eyes out* ]

:(

I wish I was back at high school rather than University right now. I'm having such a hard time fitting in >.<

The Chambered Nautlius will grow onto you - you'll see.

[/Rant over]
