Majora thought the whole idea of Halloween was a bit bizarre. Even at his old home he'd found it strange that people would dress up as other people and pretend to scare each other, which by the way, was never actually scary. The first year arrived in the Great Hall expecting to see some terrible fake decorations like the ones he used to find hanging off his bedroom door, and as such had made no attempt at a costume at all. Apparently others had though, although things like a fairy certainly looked out of place as he watched a red head pass him. The Slytherin looked around the room a little impressed and confused though at the level of detail that had gone into it, and suddenly the blonde felt somewhat under dressed. He didn't know if Halloween had the same connotation as it did in the muggle world, and Maddox was beginning to question everything he saw, and believed, for it was completely different to what he was used to. He stood quietly by himself, watching as various students walked past him in both elaborate and boring costumes, and not sensing any kind of theme, he thought that he may as well have come as himself, which was probably at least scary to someone. There were snacks too, because apparently there were snacks everywhere in this school as though the children never had a chance to eat properly. He was looking forward to Christmas personally, because at least then there may have been some kind of savory treats he missed, rather than filling up on cakes and biscuits all the time. The first year sighed, debating whether to even stick around. Once again, the school just struck him as a little more than odd.

Leia had always found the pictures of the halloween celebration a bit odd, but she wasn’t not going to go to the first ever school event. She just hadn’t dressed up all that much, she had a fake tail, eyeliner whiskers and a pair of cat ears, it wasn’t hard to tell what Leia had dressed up as. The slytherin moved into the room, she spotted her brother with Ava, and of course his camera. She could tell he hadn’t tried at all. She found Padme with that older boy and spotted their hands, Padme hadn’t really mentioned that last they’d spoken. Leia couldn’t help but wonder why. She continued into the room, and as she approached the elaborate snack table she spotted someone she hadn’t really expected to find at the halloween feast. There was no attempt at a costume. Leia walked over to him, ”I didn’t think you’d like to come to something like this,” she said rather than a proper greeting to him. She took her little bag, with all of the touch up make up she might need and pulled out a second pair of cat ears. It had been just in case she’d lost the ones on her head, ”You’re supposed to dress up,” she told him, holding it out to his with some determination, though no matter how determined she was about it, she didn’t expect that he would take it.

Majora turned his head to see Leia, although it didn't really surprise him that she was here. No doubt her siblings told her about how great this place was so she just had to try it out for herself. Not that Majora blamed her of course, experience and first hand knowledge was the best way to learn. One perk of their friendship was that whenever they met up again, it was like they'd never been apart and instead they resumed their conversation wherever they were. "Suppose I need to do it at least once," he mentioned, wondering why she was trying to hand him a pair of ears. He mumbled a few things under his breath about his own thoughts on matter, but took them nonetheless and stuck them on his head. He was quietly pleased once again that he didn't have to explore this place by himself, so wearing a pair of cat ears were the least of his worries no matter how stupid he looked. "There. Fabulous," he said dryly, although taking a step back before she could try and add anything else to his outfit. "So now what, are we meant to like, be mingling and stuff?" he asked, hoping for sure the answer there was no. He wasn't anti social but everything going on in here was just bizarre.

Leia couldn’t help the wide smile as he took the cat ears, he was muttering some other things, but she just opted to ignore that and just be pleased he put them on. ”Purfect,” she said, smiling a little in the hopes that he got the pun that she had made. She wasn’t sure why he wouldn’t be interested in at least trying to do what they were supposed to, like dressing up for this sort of event. Maybe he just hadn’t brought anything, ”Are you going to need a suit for the yuleball? I can get my brother to loan my his old one?” if he hadn’t brought a costume, she had to doubt he’d brought a suit. She then looked around to the hall, ”I don’t think we have to mingle, we could go do something, like the bobbing for apples or the fun house?” she wasn’t sure what people did and she was also rather keen to be able to do something. It wasn’t like she’d ever persuade Major into dancing with her, the ears were one thing, the dancing would be something entirely else. ”Did your old school do halloween celebrations?” Leia had to assume that with his attitude towards this place that maybe his school didn’t do anything.
