Calum was glad that the year had ended. He hated everything about Hogwarts and was not going to miss the place at all. When his father told him that they considered transferring him to Hogwarts New Zealand for his sixth year of education, Calum didn't know how to react. He had no friends at Hogwarts Scotland and would suppose that it would be no different at Hogwarts New Zealand, but Calum had never been to New Zealand before and he was very suspicious about the sudden move. What was so good about New Zealand that his family needed to move over there? It was decided that if they did make him transfer that his grandparents would stay in Wales and it would only be him and his parents moving and Calum knew that it would be hard without them. They were always there throughout his entire life and he somehow felt that the move to New Zealand would change everything, but when his parents told him, he didn't say anything and simply shrugged, not wanting to spill his feelings out on them just yet. He would come back to visit soon enough if they did.

Slowly, Calum walked down the quiet streets of Wales with his hands in his pockets. He had lived in Wales his whole life and suddenly moving to another country with no idea why was going to be hard. What would he find there? Would it be better for him? The thing that really worried him the most was duelling. He had only ever duelled around Europe and what if duelling over in New Zealand was different to duelling where he felt most comfortable? If that was true, then what if he wasn't as good at duelling anymore? The questions kept flooding his mind and he scrunched his face up in frustration as he walked, knowing that thinking about it was just going to make it worse. On the bright side, the decision wasn't definite and he could only hope that whatever happened would work out.

Kylie was on the search for a new duelling team to take part in and had been lucky enough to be scouted by a team in Europe. It was a place she'd never been before but was admittedly very excited to go - even if she didn't decide to join the team it would be interesting to meet people and create friends amongst competitors. The girl desperately missed her team as well as duelling in general so she really hoped she would find one here otherwise the search would continue and she worried that her abilities were lacking as of late. She decided to put her best foot forward, though, as she walked up to the training area she might take part in. She knew she was early for her appointment with the lead coach but with all the timezone changes she had recently she didn't want to make any mistakes so the witch smiled as she opened the door, looking around to the facilities. They were nice and not too braggadocios which many places were, allowing large trophies to overpower everything about the place and allowing less focus to be on improving people. Still, there was a bright sparkle of gold and silver about. She had brought a fair amount of that back for her team too in the past and wondered if this would be the case for this place as she walked through, attempting to be more of a fly on the wall even if she knew some would recognize her from past competitions where either she won or lost against them. Luckily, her winning streak was quite strong. So the athletically inclined witch seemed to be pleased with the possibility - uncaring what her nervous parents thought of the place as they would be attending the meeting just to discuss the costs and her safety. The rest they left to her as she had done this for years now. It allowed a fair amount of freedom as did their trust in her with almost everything.

The wind blew Calum's shaggy hair behind his ears as he walked with his head down towards his home training area where he could take out his anger and all of those mixed feelings that he was feeling at that moment. He didn't know what to think and the only thing that made him happy was duelling so he figured there was no better way. He opened the door and walked in with ease as if he owned the place. Technically, Calum figured that he did own the place considering most of the trophies that surrounded the place were his. Who honestly cared about anyone else's efforts? Calum did most of the work to keep the place running and it was about time someone realised that and appreciated what he did.

As Calum began to walk over to the nearest stage to start practicing he stopped as he saw a familiar shine of long brown hair standing not that far from the entrance. He walked passed her at first without realising but now that he turned around to have a better look, he knew instantly who it was. It was Ortiz. He remembered her clearly from past duelling tournaments and just seeing her gave him a weird feeling in his stomach, something that he couldn't explain. He had seen heaps of people from past duelling tournaments but Ortiz was different. Whenever they met it made Calum nervous as she was one of the few that were able to beat him half the time. Many other people weren't like that and it was just something about her that caught Calum's eye. He walked over there with a slight swagger and talked to her with a cold tone in his voice, not caring that her possible parents were witnessing it. "What are you doing here?"

Kylie's thoughts were wrapped up in the possibility of joining this new team when she was rudely approached by someone she hadn't immediately recognized because of the glazed over look in her dark eyes but she found herself knowing him all too soon afterwards. A competitor in all sense of the word was Kylie and her relationship with Lloyd was easily seen as just that. There was no love between them in the slightest and their bows were shallow at best whenever they went head to head against one another which had been often due to the fact that they were both in the same skill set and year. Kylie's instinct was to reach for her wand in it's dragon-skin thigh holster but that was not where her aim was today. "I'll do as I want, Lloyd. Back off." She continued to walk throughout the studio, suddenly judging it much more harshly than she had before because she had honestly forgotten about him in her year off of the practice as she'd been unable to find a team in New Zealand which was strong enough for her or offered her the ability to grow. She had her hands tightly clenched in anger at seeing him because it took so little for her to hate him. He was a repugnant person - possibly the most disgusting one she'd ever met.

It was obvious that Ortiz didn't like Calum one bit and he knew that the feeling was mutual so he wasn't surprised at all when she rudely walked away from him. He smirked and kept his eyes on her as she walked, hoping that she was not thinking of joining Calum's team. She had ruined her chances as far as he knew and it would be the worst thing she had ever considered. Truthfully, Calum was still quite glad that she remembered him and would make her life a living hell until she left. After all, they were both as competitive as each other and there was no way that Calum was ever going to not want a competition. He turned around and took his wand out from his pocket. "We'll see about that. Care for a friendly duel?" he asked slyly as he twirled his Ash wand between his fingers. There was no way she was going to get away without a fight. "And then we'll finally be able to see who's better."

Kylie rolled her eyes. He was such an arrogant little weasel and had been from day one but instead of proving himself worthy of his attitude it left her wondering who he was and why he thought he was so perfect when clearly he was faulty at nearly everything she'd seen. The normally polite girl grew tired of him already and wondered how ever they would be able to work as a team because she could see no such thing happening ever. The witch looked over at him and said, "Friendly? How sweet you thought we were friends." She rolled her eyes at the boy and kept walking, she hardly needed to prove to him who was better because this was clear as she had the gold from the last tournament she had been a part of. "I'm waiting for the coach, I don't want to be seen speaking with such an idiot," Kylie would duel with him happily on most days but she really did need to put her best foot forward and speaking with Lloyd was like taking two backwards.

Ortiz was definitely playing hard to get and somehow Calum was liking it. If there was one thing Calum knew about her it was that she didn't want to have anything to do with him which was slightly comforting considering the fact that Calum didn't really like her much either, despite how desperately he wanted to duel with her again to prove his title. Being an introvert, Calum didn't really have many friends and he felt a sort of pride in talking to her after many hard defeats. There was just something about a dueller that could actually beat him that made him really want to talk to her. He was taken aback when Ortiz declined his offer. "Well, cowards don't make it here so I suggest you leave and stop wasting your time." he replied coldly, shoving his wand back into his pocket and swiftly walking away from her. He knew that she had no chance with an attitude like that and already had the urge to hex her right then and there. Instead, he kept his cool and began to make his way over to the stages again for a good practice with her still obviously on his mind.
