The first day back was the most dangerous, and Linnux knew that there would be no avoiding his friend as he had been all Brightstone weekend. Linnux knew that his little girlfriend would consult him about the rose, and there were two ways this could go. Chaser could think Linnux was a genius, or he might tackle him again and make him eat jalapeños - Linnux hated jalapeños. The brunette student made his bed and strapped the extra pillow he had around his waist with some rope. And there he waited, ignoring the questions from his dorm mates. They knew he'd done something to his best friend, the rambunctious pair were always getting into things and often almost harming each other in the process. In Linnux's hand he held an envelope, a letter from his girlfriend, which he was going to offer to Chaser in exchange for his safety. Otherwise he was going to open it and read it aloud. To everyone. After all, what were friends for?

The moment Chaser had read the letter from "him" to Mini, he knew exactly who it had been from. It was hard not to miss the beautiful handwriting and language and none other than his best friends, and Chaser had pondered on his way back to the school as to what he was going to do with Linnux when he got hold of him. Approaching the room, he could already see the Gryffindor inside, no doubt doing his best to protect himself about the incoming tackles, but Chaser had other plans. He hadn't arrived empty handed. In one hand he had a large bucket, in which was the contents of a few ingredients he'd managed to salvage from the kitchens, and tucked under his other arm was a newspaper. Setting down the bucket in the doorway, he peered at his friend in silence, knowing that between them lingered a mix of troubles and humour. "Linnux." Chaser nodded his head simply, removing the newspaper and beginning to tear it up. "Good holiday?" he asked, wondering if his dormmate was ready for the onslaught he was about to recieve.

Linnux saw Chaser and a lopsided, goofy grin appeared on the teens face. He saw the bucket, and saw the paper, and had a sneaking suspicion that it was a good thing he hadn't worn his best dress robes that day. Watching him, wand in his hand just in case, the brunette nodded. "Oh of course it was good. Mum sent me chocolates, and Pippa wrote me about roses being delivered around the school. She was bummed she didn't get one but of course I obliged and sent a few over to the school." He grinned wider. Chaser had to know at this point that he'd sent the note. After all who else called girls vixens? And she was indeed, which reminded the teen boy his friend had gotten to see her for a bit. "Did she pass on leprosy to you again?" He teased, quirking an eyebrow at him. "Or maybe you did to her? How did that go?" He inquired, obviously prodding for details as he reached for the umbrella leaned against the wall next to him.

As Linnuxs mouth continued to move and noises came out of it, Chaser listened briefly to his version of events, nodding his head along and tearing up the paper. Each strip was being dropped into the bucket at his feet, and once the fifth year felt he had enough to work with, he tossed what remained into a nearby chair. "That's so very kind of you Linnux." He said, one arm leaning on the frame above his head as his other rested on his hip, just in case he felt like trying to flee the scene. "No not leprosy," he added with a smile, though whether that was due to suppressing a laugh or recalling the events of the day was left unsaid. "We swam, mostly. Spoke about school. Valentine's. The roses." Chasers eyes were boring across the room as he peered at the Gryffindor, "You know, she did she get a very strange letter from someone," obviously that someone was Linnux, and while their had been a second letter that he wanted to talk to someone about to, now wasn't the time to focus on it. "Something about a car.." he finished, bending down to pick up one of the strips of paper now covered in paper mache and scruntching it up in a soggy ball in his hand. "You wouldn't happen to know who sent her that would you?" He peered at him with a glint in his eye. He wasn't actually mad, in all fairness it had been hilarious, but Chaser wasn't going to miss an opportunity to pelt him.

Linnux beamed at his friends word. "Of course. I thought about giving you a rose but I didn't want to show up you little blonde babe." He said, as if his valentine's gift would do so. He watched the boy before him balling up the nasty mix of newspaper and whatever was in the bucket. "Oh so you got to see her in a bikini?" The teen boy say with a wiggle of his eyebrows. "And roses? Wait roses did she get more than one?" The words gave him away. It was obvious that he knew she received one, and if she had confronted Chaser then Chaser was bound to know he sent it. Especially with the way he dotted his is with a little heart. "Something about a car?" He asked trying to cover his steps opening the umbrella. He didn't care about bad luck in that moment. "How would I know, your girlfriend is a babe - she's probably got guys breathing down her back 25/8 he said with a grin. Prepared for him to throw the ball at him. "Did you do something romantic for her so as not to be overshadowed?" He asked, hiding nervous laughter.

Chaser smirked at his responses, "She got the best gift of all," he said, motioning at his own body with his free hand. Chaser was at least arrogant enough in his best friends company to behave as such, and was acting as though his mere presence was gift enough. "Roses. What? No.." he trailed off quickly. That hadn't been what he meant and if Linnux was going to question it now then he wouldn't have a chance for his revenge. "Accio Umbrella" he said, catching it in one hand as it flew across the room. Magic certainly did have it's benefits. Not waiting any longer for the mixture to set, preferring it rather have a chance to do so in his slick black hair, Chaser tossed the goop of paper across the room, before dropping the umbrella and making use of both hands to grab a few more wodges.

There were few more words exchanged before suddenly the ball was being tossed at him. Linnux attempted to dispel the ball and while it didn't land in his hair it landed on his shoulder and rolled down the pillow. "Oh gross!" He said, before blasting a deflecting spell at the bucket and knocking it back, hoping it would smother his shoes. The concoction was gross and smelled as such. "Scourgify!" He said trying to clean up while dodging. "You're the greatest gift of all?" He teased his friend. "Or are you trying to tell me something else." He teased, knowing his friend was as innocent as a teddy bear. He'd never even kissed a girl until this Veela came around. Not that Linnux was any better. Quickly he u tied the pillow with the pull of a string and took it in the hand that didn't have a wand in it. Swinging wildly he attempted to hit him with the pillow.

Chaser only managed to save two globs before Linnux ruined his fun and overturned the bucket. He managed to dance out of the way of the mixture but he was slightly irritated he'd carried it all this way for nothing. Wiping his hands on his jeans, he got hold of his wand once again, looking around the room for inspiration. Mini may have been the first girl he'd ever been with, and he wanted to tell his best friend every detail he didnt know how, "She was lucky to have me." Of course, he wouldn't have said that to Mini, and not just because it was the other way round. Linnux was quick to attack first though, and seeing him edge forward armed with a pillow, Chaser held out his wand "Accio blanket." From behind his friend flew the dark red blanket that had been laid out, and it quickly caught Linnux from behind. Chaser took a step forward, enveloping the Gryffindor and his pillow under the fluffy body warmer, a grin on his face, not that he would be able to see it from under there as his arms were wrapped round him like a cocoon.

Linnux by no means thought that Chaser was ugly, but he scoffed as the man pointed himself saying how lucky his Veela girlfriend was to have him. "So you didn't scare her away with your smell?" He asked laughing. However his laughter was stifled by the blanket that wrapped around him, and his friend placing him in a bear hug. "How romantic!" He said, muffled by the material. The boy wriggled around and finally broke a hand free. With his free hand he shoved on Chaser until he could wriggle his head free as well. "Well if you wanted a hug you should have said so!" He remarked before pushing all his weight on his friend trying to topple the shorter male over.
