The deafening screech of an owl brought Alyssa to a halt, a small laundry basket with an array of clothing currently occupying her hands. Her bright eyes scanned the room until they fell upon an unfamiliar gray owl, perched on the window pane awaiting to be let inside. "Oh, hang on a second." Alyssa knew if she waited to long to let it inside, the dumb poor would likely fly off without having given what it came to deliver. Setting the basket down, Alyssa walked over to the window and pulled it open. The owl was large and gray, and tucked tightly between it's talons was a tan envelope. Taking the envelope carefully, Alyssa immediately felt her mouth grow dry once she had gotten a proper look at it. The familiar script and seal on the letter instantly brought back memories the blonde had tucked away years ago, some of the best years of her life actually. The letter was addressed to her youngest daughter Rosemaryn. It was her Hogwarts letter. A milestone in any young witch or wizards life."Hey Vincent? Come here and look at this." Alyssa called out to her husband in the next room. He would be eager to see this. Just as Alyssa began to hear his heavy footsteps, she flinched away in pain. Her eyes quickly narrowed in at the large bird right next to her. "Ow! What was that for you stupid-ahhh you want a tip don't you?" Reaching into a nearby drawer, she produced a treat and quickly handed it to the bird, lest it decide to bite her again. The moment the owl had the treat in it's beak, and flew out the window, prompting Alyssa to quickly close it once more. Walking towards Vincent, she held out the letter so he could see. Rosemaryn seemed to favor Vincent's company over Alyssa's, so he'd likely be the one to deliver it to her anyways. "It's from Hogwarts..." Trailing off, Alyssa let her eyes fall back to the envelope in her hand. What she wouldn't give to relive the day she first received her own letter.
