The deafening screech of an owl brought Alyssa to a halt, a small laundry basket with an array of clothing currently occupying her hands. Her bright eyes scanned the room until they fell upon an unfamiliar gray owl, perched on the window pane awaiting to be let inside. "Oh, hang on a second." Alyssa knew if she waited to long to let it inside, the dumb poor would likely fly off without having given what it came to deliver. Setting the basket down, Alyssa walked over to the window and pulled it open. The owl was large and gray, and tucked tightly between it's talons was a tan envelope. Taking the envelope carefully, Alyssa immediately felt her mouth grow dry once she had gotten a proper look at it. The familiar script and seal on the letter instantly brought back memories the blonde had tucked away years ago, some of the best years of her life actually. The letter was addressed to her youngest daughter Rosemaryn. It was her Hogwarts letter. A milestone in any young witch or wizards life."Hey Vincent? Come here and look at this." Alyssa called out to her husband in the next room. He would be eager to see this. Just as Alyssa began to hear his heavy footsteps, she flinched away in pain. Her eyes quickly narrowed in at the large bird right next to her. "Ow! What was that for you stupid-ahhh you want a tip don't you?" Reaching into a nearby drawer, she produced a treat and quickly handed it to the bird, lest it decide to bite her again. The moment the owl had the treat in it's beak, and flew out the window, prompting Alyssa to quickly close it once more. Walking towards Vincent, she held out the letter so he could see. Rosemaryn seemed to favor Vincent's company over Alyssa's, so he'd likely be the one to deliver it to her anyways. "It's from Hogwarts..." Trailing off, Alyssa let her eyes fall back to the envelope in her hand. What she wouldn't give to relive the day she first received her own letter.

Vincent Chevalier was more of a private healer now, dealing with family and other private patients as well. It treated him well enough to support his children. The last two were going to be going to school soon, since Brayden was just sorted, into Slytherin. It was no surprise when looking at where he came from, and how much he acted like his mom from time to time. With Blaise on his shoulders, Vincent heard his name called from elsewhere in the house. He followed it to see his amazing wife of 20 years. Well, almost 20 years. It would be their anniversary on Christmas. He approached her while Blaise played with his hair. He looked over to see that it was a familiar Hogwarts letter. It came to all three children, but Azelle protested and wanted to go to Beauxbatons, which he allowed. "Can't be surprised about it. I see her being in the same house as either of her brothers." Blaise seemed a little excited about the letter, and started talking about how he was going to be the best wizard ever. Vincent chuckled and turned to call Rosemaryn to them, "Rosemaryn! Come in here, love!"

Upon hearing her father calling her name, Rosemaryn peered around the corner at her parents with wide blue eyes. They had caught her just as she was about to make a break for it and head outside for awhile. Pushing the last piece of licorice wand into her mouth, Rosemaryn started inside the kitchen, pausing once she noticed the envelope her mother was holding out to her. "Whatever it is, I didn't do it." Her mother only laughed and shove the envelope at her once more. Taking it carefully, she could see it was actually addressed to her. Rosemaryn turned it over to open it and noticed the Hogwarts seal on the back. Rosemaryn quickly decided that she knew exactly what this letter was for. For the amusement of her parents Rosemaryn released a soft laugh before she set the letter on the counter. "This was nice and everything, but I'm not going to Hogwarts." Rosemaryn turned to head out of the kitchen but was instantly forced to halt to stop when her mother took the hood of her sweatshirt in a vice tight grip. "Seriously mom?" Rosemaryn tried to pull out of her grip, but sadly Alyssa's grip was far too tight, and she loved this sweater too much to have it torn in the midst of their struggle. The minute Rosemaryn quit struggling, the hand on her hood retracted. Wide blue eyes turned to look at Vincent before Rosemaryn sighed heavily. "Daddy?" Whenever Rosemaryn wasn't getting what she wanted, it was often her dad she went running to. He was easier on her than Alyssa ever had been. Not that her mother was mean, it was just a lot easier to turn the waterworks on dad and get what she wanted than it was with mom. Surely her dad would take her side. Azelle got to go to Beauxbatons, why couldn't she?

Alyssa couldn't say she was surprised that Rosemaryn would act like this. More often than not, she would get off easy because she went to Vincent whenever she needed something, but Alyssa believed that this time Vincent would put his foot down and agree with Alyssa. Rosemaryn needed to go to Hogwarts. It was safer there, and much closer to home. Alyssa regretted sending Azelle to Beauxbatons, where her family's influence was already beginning to become shoved down her throat. Assuming it would safe there, despite the fact that a majority of Alyssa's family remained in France, was probably one of the stupidest ideas she had ever had. Azelle refused to allow her parents to remove her from the school, and the last thing Alyssa wanted was Theodore to know was that she feared his influence. "No. Absolutely not. You're going to Hogwarts Rosemaryn. I'm not sure what you're so worried about, Hogwarts is a wonderful school. I had some of the best years of my life there." Alyssa's bright blue eyes shifted to look at her husband, she knew she had a soft spot for Rosemaryn's begging, but she had to hope that he not only agreed with her, but that he could resist her begging and pouting. If only Rose was older, Alyssa could explain the greater purpose, but for now she had to remain oblivious to the fact that her family was a mess. Besides, Hogwarts really was a great school. It'd do her to attend there. Plus Chacen and Brayden could keep an eye on her.

Vincent frowned the moment that Rose claimed she did not do anything. Blaise watched from the top of his shoulders, while Rose proclaimed that she would not be going to Hogwarts. Vincent himself did not go, but a part of him wished he had so that he could have seen Alyssa more. Though, planning their wedding had been fun while she stayed at the school, and he utilized her friends. Vincent looked toward Alyssa as Rose said the one word that could often get him to do whatever his daughter wanted. However, he was heavy set against Beauxbatons right now. It was too far, and he did not want Rosemaryn to be without family. Though, the Snow family was more prominent in Beauxbatons, Vincent preferred his own, despite the fact that his probably wasn't much better. "Absolutely not, Rosemaryn. You will be going to Hogwarts. Besides, you did not receive a letter from Beauxbatons, which means you may not attend. Though even if you did, it would be disregarded anyway. Your two brothers are there, and so are a ton of your cousins. You need proper guidance, and it is the best school I know of." Vincent was thinking about forcibly removing Azelle from Beauxbatons, drag her back kicking and screaming, and if she didn't get into Hogwarts, well, he would home-school her.

Alyssa withheld the urge to sigh aloud when her husband agreed with her on the subject of Rosemaryn's education. Her daughter could be crafty and more often than not she could convince her father to do just about anything. "If your sister keeps up behaving the way she has been, she won't be at Beauxbatons much longer. I thought you wanted to go to the same school as Brayden?" Out of all of her siblings, Brayden appeared to be the one Rosemaryn was closest with. Alyssa had figured that it ultimately would be him that Rosemaryn would follow. Why didn't she want to go to Hogwarts? It wasn't like she had been there before, how could she possibly know if she would like it there or not? "Your father is right though, we're not going to bend this time. You're going to Hogwarts come September, whether you like it or not." Homeschooling was out of the question. Alyssa didn't have the patience or time to teach her children the proper ways to use magic. Nor did she have the skills. The only subjects Alyssa ever really excelled in were the classes she needed to become a healer. The rest she did rather poorly in. Alyssa couldn't remember how well Vincent did in school, but she had doubts that he would want to remain home and teach Rosemaryn either. "The least you could do is give it a chance. You might find that you really like it." Back when she was young, she didn't want to give it much a chance either, but she found some friends and a purpose while there, and in the end had found that she was glad she had given it the chance it deserved. Rosemaryn just needed to see that as long as she put in the effort, she was going to have a good time. Alyssa didn't expect top notch grades or team captain of the Quidditch team, but she expected her daughter to stay out of trouble and try to find a purpose.

Rosemaryn had never felt more confused in her life. Her brain was scrambling at an erratic pace just trying to comprehend what had just happened. Her father had told her no. Rosemaryn could probably count the number of times her father had told her no about anything on one hand. Desperately, Rosemaryn tried to think of something, anything that could get him to change his mind."If Hogwarts was so wonderful, why didn't you go there?" Rosemaryn shot at her father, attempt to strike him with whatever she could to make her point across. When her mother brought up her brothers, Rosemaryn had to fight back the urge to roll her eyes. Although she did miss seeing Brayden all the time, the last thing she wanted was to be stuck in his and Chacen's shadows. At least Azelle was enough of a mess to cause little worry to Rosemaryn, but Brayden and Chacen had their own flair. Everyone loved them and there was no doubt in her mind that it would be the same at Hogwarts. "Why would I want to go to a place where I'd constantly be compared to how great Brayden and Chacen are? Besides, all they'd do is boss me around and make me look dumb." Rosemaryn wanted to be her own person. Her brothers would never let her be that. It also meant she would have them looking over her shoulder all of the time, making sure she didn't talk to boys, or that she did her assignments on time. Azelle could care less about Rosemaryn and she knew that. Bright blue eyes turned to look at her mother when she pleaded with Rosemaryn to at least give the school a chance. It seemed really important that she go to Hogwarts for some reason, and it was becoming more and more obvious with each word her mother said. "A chance? Maybe. But, is there another reason you don't want me going to Beauxbatons? You seem nervous." Rosemaryn questioned, wanting the truth if she could squeeze it out of either of them. Had something happened that they didn't want to talk about with her?
