A cool and silent breeze blows through the field...the countryside is filled with trees, and everywhere you turn, there are flowers. Yellow ones, blue ones, pink ones that seem to sparkle under the sun.
Jessika ran, bare feet tickled by grass and cooled by the dirt, and climbed a tree. It's difficult at first, pulling on the branches, but she eventually made it up. The clouds crawl across the endless blue sky, slowly, neither beginning nor ending, but always moving. It was her first trip out of Italy, a Christmas as well as a birthday gift for her. They were supposed to go to the uptown shopping district, but somehow, they ended up there in the English Countryside, enjoying its beauty and dramatic landscapes. Her parents were at the cottage that they had rented, probably taking a rest or putting her younger siblings to sleep. Yet, here she was now, playing by her self, not really caring if she was all alone.
A buzzing in her ear almost causes her to fall out of the tree. She had barely managed to grab a branch in time, and a tiny dragonfly appeared before her, resting on her knee. Giggling, she watched as the dragonfly hopped from her knee to her hand and from her hand to her shoulder. Then, before she could touch it, the dragonfly buzzed away, flying down the field. Laughing to herself, she climbed down from the tree, and began chasing the dragonfly. Running as fast as she was able, she reached out again and again, never able to grasp the little guy. The dragonfly, as if it were part of some unknown game, dodged left and right, speeding in a random zig-zag formation down the field. Suddenly, the dragonfly led her over a hill; she tripped and rolled down, rolling through all the flowers and the grass, laughing even louder.
Then all is quiet. The clouds continued their endless journey, as she stared up at them with a smile.
She stood up and resumed her frolic through the massive field. Time seemed to have slowed down. She had so much fun in such a small amount of time, and there's no way that-
Then she turned. Frozen in place, her ears pick up the faint ringing of a bell.
Was it time to head back already?
Sprinting, a single bead of sweat rolling down the side of her face, she headed back up the hill and past the tree, through the seemingly endless field of flowers, their beauty indescribable. Unfortunately, due to the speed built up after running down the hill, she tripped immediately after reaching the bottom, falling flat on her face. Then a pain struck her; a sudden stinging on her knee. Sitting up, she noticed the rocks around her, and the nasty scrape that had appeared because of the aforementioned rocks. Groaning, she lifted herself up, sitting as she waited for the pain to subside.
