Eoghan couldn't believe he was now sat here wearing a prefect badge. Lilith, sure, that made sense. But somehow Professor Josephs had thought he warranted one too? He wasn't sure how to feel about that, nor the fact that many of the students were now spotting it too, probably asking themselves the same question. It had been a couple of days since the sorting ceremony, but classes had yet to begin properly. He still wasn't used to the fact the badge was now pinned on the front of his robes, gesturing to everybody around him that he was supposed to be someone they looked up to. At least he had Lili to talk to about it.

As Eoghan sat the Ravenclaw table, trying to concentrate on his lunch and considering what he was going to do for the next issue of Hogwarts Monthly, he found himself unsure if he was even that hungry. This year was the first time he knew that his classes were going to affect his future. He'd spent the last four doing everything he could to make sure he didn't fail, but now there was the additional pressure that if he did, he might not be able to work with the things he wanted to when he was older. "Can you pass me the potato?" He asked a nearby student, in a world of his own. Maybe he would feel more hungry once he'd finished plating up some food.

Open after Bastian

Bastian's first day at this new school had gone well so far. Somehow he was able to get the transfer done to carry on his school life in 7th year from Hogwarts in Scotland to this one in New Zealand. Yes, it felt very different to him, considering he had lived his whole life in Edinburgh and London, but it was time for a fresh start. Although, classes hadn't started yet, Bastian was determined to make some friends -- even though he would graduate at the end of the year, hopefully -- and perhaps get a good career in something that he was interested in.

He sat at the Ravenclaw table, feeling very out-of-place with the fact that he thinks that he's the only transfer student in Ravenclaw, or even in the whole school right now. When he heard someone ask to pass a potato, which just so happened to be near him, he cleared his throat and silently passed him one. 'A prefect.' he thought to himself as he noticed the badge on the fellow Ravenclaw's uniform. Perhaps he could help Bastian feel more comfortable here...

Eoghan looked up to the student as he passed him a single potato, pausing for moment. To be fair, perhaps Eoghan should have been more specific. It was a good job he wasn't too hungry. Placing it onto his plate next to his one slice of chicken, he supposed that would do him. "Thank you," he told the boy, his eyes lingering on him again as he felt as though he hadn't seen his face around the school before. That was exactly an uncommon occurrence, there were a lot of people Eoghan hadn't met around the school yet, however to feel as though he'd never seen them at all was a bit strange. Perhaps he should have been making more of an effort to get to know the students outside of his own classes, especially now he was a prefect, capable of taking House Points away from those in his house.

The fifth year didn't consider himself shy, but he did have a hard time letting people in. Perhaps as long as he kept things to small talk, awkward small talk, he could have an actual conversation with someone that wasn't a student he forced to sit next to in his lessons. What would Lili say in this situation? "Did you have a good holiday?" Eoghan asked the older boy, presuming that he simply didn't recognise him because he hadn't expanded his social circle enough. Maybe this year that would change.

"Me?" Bastian was surprised to find out that the prefect was talking to him, of all people. He didn't exactly have a 'holiday' per say. But he did transfer from 6th year at Hogwarts in Scotland to his final year here in Hogwarts NZ. "Uhm. I guess so? I didn't exactly have a holiday, more like preparing my journey here than relaxing." He managed to answer the prefect's question, shrugging his shoulders. Yes, he basically did tell a random student that he transferred here; and yes he was older than people expected him to be. It felt unusual for an 18 year old to go to another school, just for his final year...

But, he did have somewhat of a plan once he graduated. What was that plan exactly? He had no bloody idea. Bastian cleared his throat before introducing himself to the Ravenclaw prefect. "I'm Bastian by the way. I'm new here, fi you couldn't tell already." He adjusted one of his rings nervously.
