Elsie had been hiding, though it was tough to do. Not from Rowan, like usual, but from someone else entirely. Elsie had thought she’d escaped him, hoped that maybe he’d left the school since she’d mostly managed to miss him between classes and such, but after she’d gotten a glimpse of Vegeta Arai at the tables last week, she’d made it her life’s mission to stay out of his way. He was a bully, and not a nice one and though most of the time what he said or did wouldn’t phase her, it wasn’t nice to have those feelings constantly thrown in her face, especially when she was tired and vulnerable like this. It just wasn’t a particularly nice feeling to have thrown in her face. It had been worse when she was in first year, the bullies never leaving her alone, but what was she supposed to do? It wasn’t like she could fight back since every time she tried it always seemed to get worse.

Vegeta Arai almost forgotten how great it was to bully someone else other than Vader. Sometimes, one needed to be around different company. Vegeta managed to follow Elsie, which the best place to hide from him would have been the Ravenclaw house, since Vegeta had no access there. He had no one that could bring her out either. Yet, here he found her, in the trophy room. Vegeta often needed some sort of fuel to lash out at people. For Vader, it was often his name. Elsie, it was just for being weak. Vegeta took his wand out and cast a verbal trip jinx at her, wanting her to be on the ground. This had to make him feel better. It had to. “Baros! You’ve been avoiding me!” Vegeta lowered his wand, but still wanted his out to appear intimidating. “How does your family treat you, knowing you are scared, running, and cowering? Such a worthless pureblood, you are!”

She knew he would find her, he always did. In hindsight, she supposed being somewhere he couldn’t go would have been the smarter option, but she had been far too tired to be rational about this and so the trophy room had been the only option that seemed to make sense for her. She hadn’t managed to get her wand out in time and fell to the ground hard when he tripped her. Tears springing to her eyes as she looked up at him. It wasn’t that his words affected her as such, because she knew they weren’t true really, but still, hearing him say them to her and being on the ground as she was, it was hard, especially since her fight with Zennon, because it also meant he couldn’t come and save her. “Please, why can’t you leave me alone?” She asked, sniffing as she kept herself on the ground, eyes watching every tiny movement his wand made. She didn’t actually think he would cause her serious harm, but she didn’t know for sure. She was sure people had said that about others before only to be proven wrong. Heck, people had probably said it about Voldemort back in the day. “Why do you have to hurt people?” She rubbed her eyes as the tears started to cloud her vision, though they didn’t fall.

Elio had been a bit off since the Yule Ball. Not because of Rowan but because of Vader and his sister. He wasn’t sure what game she was playing but it wasn’t going to end well, and his dorm mate had been so scared the night he’d woken him up. He was at a bit of a loss to whether he could even say anything, but the more he actively tried to stay up late to keep an eye on his friend, the more he realised Vader didn’t sleep as often as the rest of them. The Gryffindors attention was shaken when he heard someone shouting out for a Baros, and wondering if his best friend was in trouble, headed in the direction of the commotion. He recognised the voice but only connected it to Vegeta when he walked into the room to hear him threatening a girl on the floor. He frowned for a split second, it wasn’t Rowan. Elsie? She looked up to the boy, who was stood with his wand out, and Elio did not like what he saw. “And I suppose you’re a worthy pure blood then?” He replied calmly, walking between the couple before crouching down at Elsie’s side to see if she was okay and help her up. Inside the fourth year was quietly fuming, trying to keep his gaze away from the blonde, how dare that boy try and make someone else feel bad for something so trivial. He didn’t even care if there was more to this, or if Veg wanted to try and give more grief, but he wasn’t about to let the Ravenclaw receive any slack by herself.

Vegeta smirked even more as Elsie tripped and fell. This was perfect. Seeing someone crawl away, it made him feel somewhat powerful. Yet, it was not enough to make him feel completely better. Vegeta felt disgusted when he heard her sniffle, that alone caused his hardened expression to soften. Then, she asked if he could leave her alone, then why he had to hurt people. Vegeta lowered his wand a little bit, narrowing his eyes. However, the guilt he was starting to feel melted away as he heard another voice. He turned his head to see that it was Elio. He even went to Elsie’s side. Elsie wouldn’t fight back, so all he had to worry about was Elio, right? “Duh. Of course I am.” Vegeta had to act quick so that he could deal damage. He swiftly pointed his wand at the other Gryffindor and cast the Conjunctivitis curse toward him. That would mean that if it hit, he would be blind, and Vegeta could deal some real damage. It had to help him with this. It just had to!
