Tombstone

After Andros disappeared from the scene to be healed of his wounds, Nicolas looked at Thorine's lifeless form once more before turning his eyes from it, unable to look upon the scene any longer. He then disappeared as well, leaving Thorine lying as she had fell, with both wands in her hands. He would tell the Ministry what had occurred and they could deal with things as they saw fit. Perhaps there were more clues to other Death Eaters in the house? Nicolas didn't know, nor did he particularly care at that moment. He had to deal with larger things, and searching out his next fight was not one of them.

On his mistresses person was a locket that had been struck with the last spell to hit her. It opened and after a moment into the opened locket appeared the form of her grandfather, assuming that she needed to speak with him. Why else would the locket have been opened? As time passed and nothing was forthcoming he called out almost inaudibly to anyone near by but the wearer. When once again nothing happened, he knew all was not well and left the confines of the locket to return to his place in the gallery of Carrow Hall. The angle of the locket had made the view he was rendered all dark, which could only mean either she had lost a family heirloom which was highly unlikely or she was down.

Calling for the most loyal house elf he had ever known, Goia appeared and was ordered to go to his mistress. Apparating to her was no trouble at all, he did it all the time. All he had to do was think of her. He arrived now outside a slightly garish wreck of a house. There was no noise anywhere but still slowly he looked about him until he saw the prone figure of his mistress on the ground. His eyes widened as he hobbled hurriedly to her.
"Mistress" he whispered looking about him, there appeared the signs of duel and hastily he looked back at her. It did not take him too long to figure out that she was dead. He knelt down beside her and shed tears for the woman he had know for all of her life. She had been fair and kind as far as mistresses went, she had been formidable as a death eater he knew but she had made many errors of judgement as well. The Drage man for one though Goia would never regret Christian coming into his life. Rocking back and forth he openly cried for the fall of such a great woman. He turned her body around slowly so that she was no longer face down in the dirt. The sight of her peaceful face made him weep even more as he began to painstakingly wipe her face clean.

It was about thirty minutes or so since Nicolas King had returned to the ministry and she had eventually been ordered to take care of the body. She apparated to the place where she had been told she would find it and reapparated just outside the door of a building that was derelict. The body could perhaps wait a while so that she could inspect the house at least, thinking better of it Sakura decided to secure the body first perhaps bring it directly to the coroners at st. Mungos before returning to do a thorough sweep of the house.

She approached where she had been told she would find the body with caution.

The noise behind him as if someone was apparating caused him to panic. If he had not been so distraught he would have thought clearer but in his state he looked at her body and removed her wands hastily that were still clasped in her hands. Having to prize them from her fingers was no easy task but it was soon done. He checked through her dress pockets hastily but found nothing else, so took the locket from her neck and the Carrow ring from her finger. With a click of his fingers he cleaned her completely so that she looked beautiful and serene once more. A noise approaching made him panic even more and he left the scene to return to Carrow Hall.

It was only then looking at the things in his hands as he stood in front of the portrait of Antonin Dolohov that he realized he should have brought her body with him and not all her possessions. He had done wrong, gravely wrong and would punish himself most severely for the rest of his life. He listened as the ancestors grumbled and argued amongst themselves, his eyes flitting to the lone portrait at the far end of the gallery. The figure of his mistress looked as beautiful and serene as she appeared to be asleep. Undeniably mortified by his actions he left the gallery taking the wands and jewelery with him to lock away safely for the children.

Walking slowly over she saw the prone figure lying on the ground, face up though she was certain the message she had gotten had said something about being face down in the dirt. Well no matter, third hand information usually went belly up in translation anyhow. As she got closer though Sakura's mouth hung open. She knew this woman, she knew her as her best friends employer but she still knew her. Disbelieving for a moment that Thorine Dolohov could be a death eater who had tried to kill Andros and Nicolas, Sakura went to the woman's left side and pushed up her sleeve only to see the mark upon her arm.

She stared fixedly at it for quite some time before putting the hand back down again. Glancing about her she could not see any sign of the woman's wand and presumed one of the other two had taken it with them. Holding tight once more to Thorine's arm she sighed before apparating to the hospital morgue. It was bad enough that Isabella was missing nearly two weeks now but for her employer to turn out to be a death eater and now dead made Sakura's life just seem more surreal by the minute. Arriving at the hospital she stayed with the doctor who worked on the body long into the night, she had nothing else to do and the thought of going home to an empty house did not seem like the greatest of plans right about now.
