Elvera left the castle and walked across the lawns to the forrest. she hadn't been there for a while. as she passed through the boundary of the first row of trees she felt the atmosphere change. the air became heavier and time itself seemed to slow. she continued on walking and ducking under trees and climbing over boulders, and brambles until she reached the clearing. once she reached it she climbed up to the lower branches of the gnarled tree alone in the middle. only then could she relax properly. nowhere in the castle was quite as calming as here in the forest as the caste was home to the busyness that was school life, lessons, people and noise. here there was nothing but the wind and trees.

Spike saw someone was sitting on the branch of a tree, they didn't look like a immediate threat to the forest, so he tried to walk away with out making any noise. He knew he would more then likely freak them out, if he approached her, so he decided to try and walk back the way he came. Stepping on a rather large stick and snapping it, the crack echoing among the forest. He quickly turned back to face the girl, feeling embarrassed for being caught so easy. " Hey how are you?" He said his yellow eyes looking the young girl over.

At the sound of a twig breaking Elvera turned around. there was a beautiful centaur with hair the same color as the sky. "Hi" she breathed. "I'm good thank you. How about you?" she said smiling. after a moment she said "you dont mind if I'm here do you? I just know how some centaurs dont like humans in the forest." she hoped that this was one of the friendly centaurs and not one of the mean ones as she had left her wand in the castle so if he decided to attack her she would not be able to stop him.

" Im good." Spike said with a smile as he proceeded over towards her, he didn't want to seem like one of those mean Centaurs that attack people for absolutely no reason at all. " I suppose you can stay." The centaur said with a large grin on his face, his yellow eyes looking her over. " Only as long as you keep me company, I've gotten a little bit tired of walking around here all by my self." He said as he made his way over to her, at this point in time he was right in front of her. " Im Spike by the way. It's a pleasure to eet you?" He said extending his hand out to her.

Elvera giggled as spike came over. "Sorry, Im Elvera, I would be happy to keep you company" she smiled widely and shaking his hand. at this proximity her eyes were drawn to a scar down his side but she looked away quickly. her attention being drawn into his yellow eyes. just as unusual color as her own green and purple ones, unless yellow was common among centaurs. "what is it like living in the forrest?" she asked. when she was in england she had lived near a wood and she had loved spending the summer surrounded by the trees but she had always found it spooky at night.

" I suppose it is good, but seeing as I can't leave I don't really have any Idea. I love it, it's my home." Spike said as he noticed the different colors in her eyes. His yellows looking straight into hers, he quickly looked away. " Your eyes, what makes them do that?" He asked trying not to point seeing as that would be rude, but he couldn't help it. He knew she was looking at his scar just a minute ago, she was probably wondering where he had got it from. He didn't know if he should tell her or not, maybe it might freak her out knowing that he had killed three muggles for attempting to chop down half of the forest and they had got a lucky swing on him with the traps they set up for any animals that might have gotten near the tree's.

" Your probably wondering where I got this scar from."
Spike said pointing down towards his torso, where a massive scar was. " I tried to stop a bunch of Muggle Lumberjacks, from cutting down some of the forest, when I was out on patrol and I was attacked, they had never seen anything like me before and when I returned the next day they had traps waiting for me. I got stuck and I was left with this as I got out, just before they shot me, with there muggle fire arms. I managed to get away, but I can't say the same for three of the Muggles." Spike said looking down, he genuinely felt bad for what he had done that day, and if he could relive it he wouldn't have trampled them.

Elvera looked away as she felt their gaze lock. "my eyes have always been like this. my mothers are the same." she same wondering what had happened to give him a scar that size all down his side. she didn't have to wait long to find out. after hearing the story she thought that she should be scared but she wasn't. she knew hat he only did it to protect the forest and she could tell that he was deeply sorry.
trying to change the topic Elvera, slipped out of the tree landing delicately as she had had much practice. from the ground she picked up her bag hidden among the roots and drew out a small chocolate bar she had smuggled out of the great hall the evening before. "do you want some?" she asked

" Sorry I only eat organic foods, It looks awfully tasty though." Spike said as picked a few berries of the tree that was beside him and popped them in his mouth. They where very nice a beautiful sensation filled his mouth, these where the ripest black berries, he had ever had in his life. Looking back to Elvera he said. " Well you and your mother are blessed they are very beautiful."

Elvera unrapped the chocolaye and ate it it only took her a couple of mouthfulls, as it was only small. she swalloed and tryed to hold back a blush as he said that her eyes were butifull. failing she bussyed herself in putting the wrapper back in her bag. she hated people who littered and had no desire to become one of them. and anyway she knew enough by now not do do anything that would anger the centors and leving rubbish in their forest probably fell into that catogry. once she felt her face cool down she urned around. but as she did so a small stone fell out of her pocket. "what do you enjoy doing" she asked trying to bring this conversation back into a more common territory.

Spike bent down and picked up a small stone that just fell out of Elvera's pocket. " I believe this is yours." Spike said as he handed it to the girl. He then proceeded to think about what he liked to do, it was a hard thing to ask him. " Well I like to be patted, it feels really good, and I like to run." Spike said with a smile hoping that she would pat him, it was one of the best feeling he had ever experienced. " What about you, what do you enjoy?" He asked wondering what she enjoyed.

"thank you" she said as Spike gave her back the stone that she presumed she had dropped. "wheres about do you like being patted" she said tentatively holding her hand out. not quite sure what to expect. "well. I like reading, typically ravenclaw of me, i love being outside, as i get a little claustrophobic if i am indoors for too long. but if i am indoors i like going up one of the towers and daydreaming" she said. "but i find it sacrilege being inside on beautiful days like today." she smiled distantly as she enjoyed the feeling of being free again and having a break from the castle.

" I love being patted behind the ears." Spike said as he laid down in front of her, still facing her. Even though he had the human upper body, it was still something he loved, even though it seemed weird patting a human. " I have often wondered what it is like being up the top of those towers, but I guess I will never know." He smiled when she said she was a Ravenclaw, he liked Ravenclaw's they where so calm and passive.

Elfera tickled Spike behind the ears. "It that right?" she asked feeling a little odd. "now the towers are the best part of the castle. at the top it is just one large room with windows all around you can see for miles from them. the best time too be up there is before and during a storm because then you see huge clouds blow in and the lightening feels so close almost like you can touch it." Elvera had been known to sit on the windowsill in her dorm during a thunder storm and spend all night there. it was just the sheer power of the storms that drew her too them. "what do you do during storms?" she asked knowing that she wouldn't like to be in the forest during a storm.

" That feels great." Spike said looking into her eyes as she spoke. It was hard to concentrate on anything seeing as both her eyes where different colors, but they where still beautiful. He smiled when he heard that she would sit up and watch the storms like his tribe did, but they done it as a family thing and they stood in a big clearing to do it. " We do the same, but we stay on the ground to do so, there is a clearing not to far from here where we go."

Elvera felt the creture relax under her touc and felt it amasing that sough a light touch could cause someone so big and powerful soften under souch a light touch. "I'm glad you like it" she said. after a slight lull in conversation she said "I'm glad that i am not the only one who likes storms. evertone else thinks i'm crazy. she laughed. she momentarily stopped rubbing and checked her watch. it was getting late even though the summer sun would not set for hours yet. however if she wanted food she would have to start making her way back. i could always get food from the kitchens if i stay she thought knowing that she didn't want to go back yet.

" It is only crazy if you hold a massive metal pole up in the air, when there is a storm, if you done that I might think your crazy." Spike said a little softer, his legs twitching slightly at her patting him. He couldn't quite put his finger on it, but he had a kind of attraction towards this girl, maybe it was because he could tell they whee going to be good friends, or maybe it was something different.

"Im not quite that crazy, yet" Elvera said giggling slightly. she liked spike's compony he was so easy to talk to. she felt that she could be herself around him and not worry. this was unusual for her as she felt like all of the other students were currently judging her. it was probably just her being paronoid. she checked her watch again. "i had better go" she said. "the last time i was here this time the wolves were out. i will definitely come and visit you soon" she said wishing tat she could stay longer. She turned and slowly started walking back towards the caste, trying to go slowly and lengthen her time with spike.

" OK see you." Spike said looking down at the ground, he was feeling a bit down seeing as she had only stayed for a little while then she scooted off to the castle again. Hopefully she would come out very soon, otherwise Spike would be lonely again.

Elvera started to walk out of the clearing but before she had walked two steps the turned back around and gave spike a quick hug :glomp2: . she wasn't sure why she did that but she had seen many of the students do it to their friends and Spike was probably going to become the closest thing elvera had had to a friend. Slowly she wandered back through the forest unsure why spike wasn't with her. She felt his absence and the elongating shadows made the forest seem a little spooky and she had to try her hardest to make sure that she didn't run straight out. as she needed the last row of trees she stopped and turned taking her last look at the forest before she left for the night.
