Elsie wasn't sure what she was witnessing as she saw emotions playing over Agnes' face, but she didn't like it very much, she was sure of that. She noted with interest that Agnes glanced to where the Professors table was usually set up and wondered if that had anything to do with her inability to properly express herself. She hoped not, the Professors were here to help them after all, the thought that someone might be looking at the opposite upset her more than she thought it would. She turned back to Agnes with concern as she again tried to emphasise that Elio simply couldn't let slip that there was something between them. She'd told Agnes that he wouldn't say anything, what would Agnes have her do, threaten him? She knew Elio would care enough to not question her if she asked him not to, but, didn't Elsie have some sort of right to understand what was really going on? She figured it was some family thing, even though it was 2051, not everyone was modern. There had been times where being like them was a death sentence, but surely by now people were different? As Agnes kept talking, Elsie had to admit, she was very confused. Why on Earth would the Charms Professor, either of them, want to tell her parents. Elsie had her suspicions about Professor Haden of course, but she didn't know much about Professor Kain, she couldn't see why either of them would be particularly interested in the goings on of their students love lives. It made very little sense to her at all why any of this should have anything to do with them, she wasn't quite grasping what Agnes was desperately trying to say and the confusion all over her face would surely alert Agnes to that. When Agnes continued, mentioning she might have to end up working for the Scitorari, Elsie frowned, placing her hands on Agnes' shoulders to implore her to make some sense. "Ag, what are you talking about? What does Professor Kain have to do with the Scitorari?" Surely a Professor couldn't be involved with an organisation like that, especially not Professor Kain. If anyone was going to be she thought perhaps Professor Styx, or really, even Professor Pendleton, he seemed eccentric enough, but Kain? None of what was coming out of her girlfriends mouth was making any sense to the Ravenclaw and she was trying very hard to keep calm as Agnes continued to talk.
Being pulled to the side indicated that this was getting a bit more serious than she bargained for though and Elsie did her best to remain as close to Agnes as possible whilst she struggled through making sense and trying to explain whatever was going on. She hadn't really known what she was getting into with Agnes, but this sounded terribly complex and she'd barely even started to scratch the surface, as Elsie would soon discover. She listened intently, face morphing with emotions as she listened to Agnes talk, getting increasingly upset as more and more information came to light. She followed Agnes' gaze back to where the Professor's generally sat, though there was currently no one there and frowned. So this must mean that Professor Kain didn't know about Agnes, right? She took the offered drink and nodded. "Uh, yeah, they're a big deal. I can't believe I didn't put that together before," It wasn't like Norgaard was exactly a common name after all. She was less familiar with the name Lincoln Norgaard, but she didn't often read the business sections of the paper because it was all boring stuff and she was a fifteen year old who actually wanted to enjoy her life before she had to find a boring job, although if she passed all her exams okay, hopefully her job and future would not be as boring as it might have been should she fail. She took a sip of her drink, trying to over her momentary need to reach out and just pull Agnes close to her, protect her however she could. This was all huge, she wished she'd known all of it earlier, she might have been able to help. Not much, obviously, she was very insignificant in the grand scheme, but, she had a big family. She didn't mind initiating a turf war for Agnes.
As Agnes kept speaking, Elsie was beginning to understand exactly what she was trying to say. She'd heard of families like this, though most of them were associated with Pureblood supremacy like the Vetrovs or Malfoy's in the UK, she hadn't really heard about it having anything to do with families who were not trying to "keep it in the family" blood status wise. This new development was both extremely upsetting, but also particularly interesting. In either case, she was starting to understand the stakes and she was not at all happy about them. Being forced to choose from the three supplies options, didn't seem fair, although she thought it was pretty obvious what option Agnes was going to choose, assuming she didn't jai her exams, though, hearing all of this, Elsie was now determined that she would not. There was absolutely no way she was going to allow Agnes to fall into something like that. She'd never get back out, not with a family like that behind her. "Agnes... I am so sorry. I didn't realise it was so... this." She didn't know how to help, but she wanted to and so she stepped away from Agnes a little, but the tone of her voice didn't change as she set herself with steely determination. "They'll never stop us. I'll help you get through this. You'll be a healer, you'll have a life outside of them. I promise you will." There wasn't much they could do as kids, but as adults? Hell yeah they would fight back. "You're everything to me, Agnes, I love you more than anything in this world, I would never ever let anything happen to you, not if I have something to say about it." She finished off the last of her drink, tossing it to the side. Litter bugs be damned. "We can't do anything now, and maybe not for a while, but I'll... I'll get a job that will make me hard to reach and... and we'll help each other. I'm not going to let you go through this alone." She wanted so much to pull Agnes towards her and wrap her arms around her, kiss her, something, but after news like that, she knew it was impossible. "We'll get through this Agnes. I don't care how much control your family thinks they have over you, we will get you out."
