the yule ball. an event elvera had enjoyed numerous times and an event she didn't want to miss even if being eight months pregnant and taking up about twice her usual depth was not the most comfortable experience. she had long gown used to the pregnant waddle and with a belly that preceded her by well over a foot it was a good thing. she was looking forward to the break where she would be able to relax, maybe get some sleep or at least not have to face the numerous stairs that the castle had to offer, she was now spending most of her time in her rooms in the castle not heading down to the hall for most meals and having them ether brought u by the house elves or sent via floo from home. the ball however was a special event and she would show her face one last time before she left on maternity leave. the problem was a dress, no dress maker in their right mind would make a dress with her current dimensions and she was only getting bigger, even those designed for maternity were no where near close to fastening. next month she guessed she would be struggling to find anything smaller than a sheet that fit. eventually she had managed to make something that although wasn't really a ball dress was slightly more formal than the mega oversized T-shirts and often mismatched skirts she had been wearing. it consisted of a band high in her chest hiding between her bump and boobs which above had a top attached and below had strips of different fabrics of different materials and textures but all blues greens and purples expanding out in a way that looked half decent.
she made her way into the hall looking around as much in awe as always over the state of the hall. the decorations and the effort the students put into their outfits and it really was set to be a magical night for all involved. she made her way to the food table taking a ridiculously small portion of turkey, cranberry source and potatoes before finding a seat that she would likely say in for most of the night. the reason for the small portion as obvious too much and she got heart burn to her knees but if she ate small she would likely be able to fit three meals into the evening reflux free.
