The Sorting Ceremony

Mervyn had taken some persuading before he'd submitted to go, but he was finally at Hogwarts. Already he'd spotted one of two fellow students he intended to befriend, since he hadn't had the opportunity on the train. He'd been squished up in the corner of a compartment for almost the entire journey, listening to several girls talk about the latest witch fashion, and hadn't had the heart to get up and leave in case they took offence. Stretching his sore legs a bit, he joined his classmates at the front of the hall, listening with amusement to the sorting hat's song. All right, he had to admit it, this place was pretty cool. It was a shame about the learning part, but he was sure to have some fun when he wasn't cooped up in a classroom.

At long last the hat reached his name, and he stepped up to the stool and sat down, his heart suddenly beginning to thump. What would the hat see inside him? Would he follow in his grandfather's footsteps? Wherever he went, he was sure he'd make friends. He didn't believe in restricting himself only to his fellow housemates, anyway.

"GRYFFINDOR!"

Ivori was nervous, clasping her own hands in each other, staying as distant from others as she could. Ivori wanted to go home, to see her family and her friends - which were also her family but distant relatives were just friends. the dark haired girl felt suspicious of everyone around her. They could all be mudbloods or muggleborns. She didn't want to wear a hat that sang. She had private tutors up till now why did she needed to take classes in a big castle? Scuffing her shoes on the floor while she waited, it was obvious Ivori was impatient with the whole process. When her turn came she made it known that she wanted no help as she avoided eye contact and moved Swiftly to her seat waiting for the hat that would decide her face until she managed to leave. "Say it's a mistake and I've not been accepted." She whispered, praying to Merlin that she'd go home and see her younger sister soon.

"I'm the one who decides who gets their letters, why would I contradict myself now? No, you belong here alright. And you're unquestionably a SLYTHERIN!"

Bon Hwa was all smiles as he approached the stool. Everything leading up to this moment blew through the child's mind. He was merely eleven years old - he and his younger twin were merely eleven he should think - and here they were in this castle. He couldn't stop thinking of all the amazing things they could do adn accomplish in a building like this. The south Korean was so excited he nearly knocked the stool over clambering on top of it. Once seated he smiled at the people and waited for the hat to be placed on his head. "Hat, sir, my brother and I can be separate or together, we'll try to make very little trouble. I promise." He laughed at the end of his mostly false statement. He was ready to be a bit of a nuisance to someone other than his mom.

"I'm really just quite puzzled over your obsession with these planes... I'm not sure you'll learn very much about them here, at all. Oh well, you'll muddle through it all just fine in HUFFLEPUFF!"

Walking into the Great Hall was like a dream. The boy looked up in absolute wonder. The night sky looked gorgeous, and Isaak could not wait to spend hours, or days, under it. The boy walked through the crowd, peeping up into the front so that he could get a better look at the Headmistress holding the hat that was singing. Magic was always very vibrant in the family. Even if his parents were dancers and whatnot, the house always stayed magical, yet he still saw nothing short of awe when it came down to the magic present at Hogwarts. What he saw at home was kids stuff, really. Basic, making life easier and whatnot. Isaak patiently waited for his name to be called. Since his surname started with a B, he would be one of the firsts to be sorted. Isaak could barely stop himself from feeling so excited. Soon enough, he heard his name. Isaak rushed up to the stage, nearly tripping in the process, before plopping down on the podium and facing the other peers. He felt the hat perched on his head, and he eagerly waited the result. How could he feel so excited, and nervous about his fate all at the same time?

"Let's see how you fare in GRYFFINDOR!"

Min was stood next to his brother whom was bouncing off the walls. This experience was almost overwhelming for the boy, whom was younger even than his brother. He wondered to himself if he was the youngest in the room too - he felt it as he was quite short compared even to his twin whom had three inches on the 4'9" boy. Looking side to side the South Korean watched as person after person was sorted - even his brother was sorted before him. At least upon approaching the stool he had an idea in his head, and repeated that house over and over as if wishing it into existence.

"Oh, I'm sorry m'boy - I can't do that for you. You'll do far better in SLYTHERIN!"

Canti walked up nervously to the stool when her name was called. She was both excited and nervous at the same time, having heard several things about the houses from other students. She wasn't sure which house to hope for, as her two older siblings had both been in different houses. "I guess I just want to be with other friendly and smart students," she thought as the hat was placed on her head.

"There's friendly and smart in every house! You're a GRYFFINDOR!"
