The Sorting Ceremony

Phaedra flipped her shining blond curls over her shoulder and wove gracefully between her fellow first years, pushing her way to the front of the group. Accidently treading on a few toes she flashed the recipients a dazzling apologetic smile and continued on her way. She was extremely eager to get sorted, she had heard so many fabulous stories about this school and she couldn't wait for her chance to sit on the stool and put the sorting hat on her head, even though it looked old and way out of date. Shuddering involuntarily at the mere thought of putting something on her head that would clash so greatly with her entire fashionista personality she realized that if getting sorted meant that she had to wear the hat she would do it. As the sorting hat began its speech Phaedra sighed and looked around, catching the eye of her cousin Lapis she smiled and gave her a wave while simultaneously crossing her blue eyes.

Turning away she exaggerated a yawn as the names were being read out. Phaedra was suddenly bored, her moods had been changing a lot lately, going from excited to angry to bored in mere seconds. Shaking her head slightly she heard her name, "Lazuli-Globe, Phaedra!" Grinning proudly she danced her way up the stairs and permitted the sorting hat to be placed on her head. 'Ok, Mr. Sorting hat, do your magic and put me in my house, but I would prefer it if you were to put me in Gryffindor. In fact I would love you forever if you did... Phaedra thought quickly her eyes closed and her hands gripping the sides of the chair in anticipation, 'Come on... the tension is killing me!'

"Be prepared to love me, then. GRYFFINDOR!"

The Great hall was definitely that.Great.
But i did not want to gawk, looking around like all the others i had entered with.
Instead i looked ahead, staring at the Teacher at the front who i assumed was Dumbledore.
I slowed so i was in the middle of the crowd.
I saw all the different faces of the Staff.
I stared at one in particular and he looked up as he felt my gaze.
I recognised the face of Snape. As he looked back at me, a sneer on his face, i tipped my head back and walked straighter and faster.
Pain is weakness.
So is fear I chanted to myself.
Different names were called before me and i pressed my nails into my palm as i walked up, not showing any emotions on my face, which i had gotten very good at.
I sat on the Stool and i inhaled slowly as the hat was put on my head.
It came to life on my head, but i did not flinch.
-What do i call you?Hat?- i thought to it.
It said something but i was focusing on not thinking about my life.
-Whatever you do Hat.If you announce my life out.
I will come back in the middle of the night and rip you to bits-

"Rip me to bits, huh? Good luck with that! Every first year is able to break in to the headmaster's office and destroy ancient magic, after all. Oh wait - no they can't. How silly of me. Now, where to put you. You're selfish... and you can't take responsibility for your own actions. Salazar wouldn't be very happy with that. Maybe that's where you'll go, then. Sure. You'll learn the most in SLYTHERIN!"

Stephanie was walking straight and proud along with her fellow classmates in two straight lines. Her father had taught her that as a Jones, she had to stand straight and act like they were lucky to have her there. She really did think that Hogwarts was lucky to have her, as if it wasn't her father moving the whole family to New Zealand, she would be in France going to Beauxbatons Academy. The young girl flicked her blonde hair over her shoulders, her brown eyes gazing straight ahead of her. She was ready to be sorted, but she wasn't sure how she would be sorted. Her father had refused to tell her how she was going to be sorted, but now she was about to find out, and she couldn't wait, even though she refused to show how she was feeling.

As she stood, still standing proudly and straight in line, she listened as the Headmaster welcomed them all, and told them the instructions. When the Sorting Hat then was brought out, and it sang, a slow smile spread across her face in her astonishment. A hat was going to be sorting them? A hat? She couldn't believe it. Then the Headmaster began calling people's names and they stepped forward, the hat then beginning to yell out people's houses that they would be in for the next seven years. Her eyes glinted as the Headmaster went slowly down the list, A, B, C all the way to Z. She couldn't wait for her turn, but when some people were sorted into Gryffindor and Hufflepuff, she rolled her eyes. 'Weak.' She whispered quietly to herself, so that no one else would hear. Ravenclaw wouldn't be too bad, but she'd demand that her father take her away from Hogwarts and send her to Beauxbatons or Durmstrang if she was placed in Gryffindor or Hufflepuff.

Finally, "Jones, Stephanie" was called out, and Stephanie walked forward, poised and graceful towards the Sorting Hat. As she sat on the stool, her hands clasped on her lap, her legs next to the other, the Sorting Hat was placed on her head. It covered her face, and she could quickly relax from the emotionless facade that she had. Her father had told her not to show her emotions in public, but it was hard for her as she was only eleven. She wished that she could be as emotionless as him, but she wasn't, yet. She didn't babble to the hat, as surely some of her other classmates had, but sat there calmly and innocently as she waited for the hat to tell her the house she belonged in. She was sure it was going to be Slytherin. She appeared to be a sweet princess, but that was just on the outside. Her looks were deceiving, and they hid the nasty little girl that lied inside.

"The other houses weren't weak. Why would your houses founder found a school with three weaker characters? That doesn't make sense to me at all. One of those 'weak' founders was the best duellist of his age, and another the brightest witch of her time. Two things you can scarce hope to achieve. No matter, you are indeed a SLYTHERIN!"

Jynx couldn't keep the grin of his face, the place was just amazing, it seemed like a dream, and Jynx knew it wasn't because he had pinched himself enough times just to make sure it wasn't. When the doors opened he let out a gasp and admired the way everything looked, especially the roof it mirrored the outside night sky perfectly. Jynx followed the others towards the front of the room and awaited his name to be called as did the others.

"Jynx Blackwood" Jynx gulped in fear but he made himself gather the small amount of courage he had, and walked towards the three legged stool, the professor placed the over-sized hat on top of his head and allowed it to work it's magic.

The suspense was killing him, he waited and waited until finally the hat called out...

"GRYFFINDOR!"

Araxfell shifted from foot to foot impatiently. Waiting was possibly the worst thing in the entire world, or at least he thought so. His heart leapt a little every time someone was sorted quickly, but plummeted back into irritation when the hat took a while. If he didn't get sorted soon, he was likely to burst and just grab the hat off the stool, jam it on his head and not even wait for the 'Gryffindor!' before seating himself down at the house's table. Naturally, that was the house he was going in. His mother had said that Gryffindors were notoriously brave and Arax had enough bravery for ten people, he thought. Somehow Antoinette had known what he was thinking and wisely told him that not thinking before one acted was hardly bravery. He'd wanted to shout at that, but some part of him acknowledged his adoptive mother's words and he simply scowled. 'Jarvey, Noah!'. "Dude, come on." said Arax none-too-quietly, attracting a few shocked glances. He simply stared back at them challengingly and was satisfied when every one of them looked away. There. He'd already established his dominance and it had only been ten minutes in the school.

"Val-heem, Araxfell!"

"Vahlhime," he corrected the teacher without thinking in a rude voice. That attracted many more glances and he finally had the grace to blush and stare at his feet before stumbling gracelessly up to the hat. He bumped another first year girl on the way and even deigned to offer a mumbled "Sorry," as he passed. Establishing dominance was one thing, but it was no good getting in everyone's bad books. He knew enough to not cross the teacher again. Finally he took his seat on the rickety stool and felt the hat slip onto his head and over his eyes. Arax didn't even bother asking the hat to put him in the house he wanted. Gryffindor, Gryffindor, he sing-songed in his head to himself, already celebrating the victory. A nastier shock one couldn't imagine if he be put into another house. It was unthinkable: therefore, he did not think.

"I fear the unthinkable is reality, lad. SLYTHERIN!"

Clarke stood in the Great Hall and admired the castle and the ceiling. It really was magical. For the first time in his life he wasn't thinking of other kids and wasn't judging them. But still, he looked at the Slytherin table and the important looking people there, staring at the other kids from the other houses in distaste and liked it. The other kids weren't worthy for his attention. Then he heard the name: "Menson, Clarke" called out and headed with confidence to the chair. He had the hat placed on him. "What an ugly and filthy hat." he thought.

"And what an ugly filthy head. But there is some level of potential for beauty here. I've half a mind to put you in Hufflepuff, but I may as well just put you where you seem to have chosen: SLYTHERIN!"

Muggle. The word flew around Nessalyn's head like a storm cloud that simply refused to go away. Muggle born would be the correct term, actually. Nessalyn couldn't remember where she had found out what a muggle was. She only knew that some wizards didn't like them all too much. Nessalyn was a muggle born witch, and less than proud of it. She didn't like anything that would make her stand out any more than she already did. Stand out in a bad way, that was. She watched the other students carefully, trying to calculate how different these people were from people back home. Quite different, it seemed. There were certainly a lot of bubbly, excited students. Not that she had much of a problem with sickeningly happy people, not really...

Nessalyn looked at the ground, trying very hard to keep her face expressionless. She should have been very good at it by now, seeing as it was her usual expression, but she realized she had never had much reason for being excited or nervous in the first place. It seemed like an eternity for her name to be called out. But, it was't that long in reality. Her surname was closer to the start of the alphabet, so it wasn't long before "Fern, Nessalyn" was called out. Nessalyn managed to compose her features and walk quickly up to the Sorting Hat. She sat down on the stool and the hat was placed on her head. Nessalyn didn't try to talk to that hat; she had been studying the other students before them and watching as they attempted to ask the hat questions. Nessalyn could read, so she knew what th hat did. She wasn't about to do the hat's job for it, she had a little more respect than that. Nessalyn simply waited for the verdict that was about to come.

"Your intellect and desire to learn puts you in RAVENCLAW!"

Kenna was excited to be at Hogwarts but she missed home a little bit. She waited, somewhat impatiently, for her name to be called out. "Delaney, Kennadie." was called and Kenna inwardly cringed. Her name was pronounced how it was spelled. Kenna Die. Indeed. Kenna smirked a little as she walked up to the Sorting Hat. She sat down and waited to be sorted, peering curiously at the colorful tables from under the hat.

"GRYFFINDOR!"

Bea walked up to the front of the Great Hall with the rest of the unsorted students. Their teacher placed a three- legged stool in front of them. There on the stool sat an old and tattered hat. She nervously looked down at the many students that sat watching them. She just wanted all this to be over. She watched as the each of the first years got sorted. Then finally, her name was called. Her knees were shaking and were threatening to give way as she sat on the stool. The last thing she saw were the hundreds of eyes staring at her as the hat was put on her head and was followed by darkness...

"I have no doubt that you'll do best in HUFFLEPUFF!"

Rodali Morrison walked into the Great Hall and looked around. She was intimidated by the older students and teachers, seated at the tables. As her name was called, she shuffled up to the stool at the end of the hall. Trying to ignore the eyes on her, she timidly sat on the stool. I regarded the hat uncertainly. It was probably dirty, from years of collected grime, just the kind that would ruin her hair. As the hat was dropped onto her, covering her short curls. She shut her eyes, slightly surprised by the lack of smell as she awaited its decision.

"Your sense of adventure leads your to GRYFFINDOR!"

The day, the day... Maria has been anticipating this day like forever. The shopping trips to Obsidian have been wonderful, like nothing she has ever encountered before... Like the many books in Flourish and Blotts, oh only if she was allowed she would purchase a copy of every single one of them. But she wasn't allowed and that lead a mild chagrin moment.

Nevertheless, she had shrugged it away and started planning the next few days. There were emotional goodbyes to be made to her muggle friends, lots and lots and lots of stuff to be packed, and a train to board. A train! Maria could hardly believe her school had a train! If she was allowed and with the appropriate personality she'd bragged it all over the place. But she wasn't allowed, nor was she interested in such frivolous behaviour. To her, such people were too shallow and idiotic - if she may say so - for her.

Now, she was in the Great Hall of Hogwarts New Zealand itself, and like a certain family member before her, she was apprehensive, but unlike her aunt, who may have been extremely nervous on her Sorting Day, Maria von Lohenstein was waiting in the line full with patience and with her face calmly set neutral. Helas, she missed her muggle friends from school, but what was there to be done? Absolutely nothing. It was horrible, yes, and long standing friendships will be broken yes, but there was nothing the eleven year old could possibly do, so the problem was moot.

Moot yes, but still Maria wished that there were a way for her to remedy the situation, owlpost? Pen pal basis? Well, hopefully... otherwise...
Sighing in mild frustration, she wondered what her mother thought when she was sorted up in the mountains of Scotland... she said it took a good while before a decision came. Hopefully, Maria would have it easier than her mother...
Still frustrated about leaving her friends behind, Maria resigned herself before the onslaught of reality. She glanced quietly up the ceiling and saw the twinkling stars, Orion, Draco, and every other constellation she could see and name, twinkling quietly above her, calming her down. And so it was a face of neutrality and determination she presented to this World, as her own name was called up...

"Lohenstein, Maria!"

It was time. Alea iacta est, the dice was rolling, and either would Carthage be destroyed again tonight or she would make her mother, her family, her house proud. Alea iacta est...
With solemn steps, she walked quietly and without words, neutrally and composed up to the podium, settled slowly and befittingly down on the stool, received the hat on her head, and gave it a first peek into her mind.
'Good evening Sir, I'd like to make a note that it wouldn't matter to me where You would sort me, for I know You always make the right choice. It is thusly a great honour to wear You tonight. Sir.'

"RAVENCLAW!"

Everything in the castle looked magnificent. There were hundreds of candles floating mid- air. She couldn't believe that she was actually here !! At Hogwarts!! She peered at the rest of the first years as they all nervously waited for the sorting to begin. And so their teacher started reading out the names. She couldn't help but smile at her luck for being here. She tried to look calm as her name was called and finally, it was her turn to get sorted. 'Please make this quick sorting hat', she thought.

"Quick? Sure. HUFFLEPUFF!"

Anna marched into the Great Hall with her head held high. She would not show her anticipation to get sorted and sit with people that she could become friends with. Instead she boldly scanned over everyone in the Great Hall and smiled. This was a new start for her and was determined to have a good start. She kept fidgeting though despite her will to not show fear. It was tense in the room and it was getting to her. Having to wait for half of the kids that were there before her name would be called was also agonizing. By the time she heard the words "Larsten, Anna" she was about ready to scream. She kept her head up and walked with her back straight to the stool where the hat sat. She sat down and stared at all the faces that looked at her as if she was a piece of meat that they were ready to take. The hat was placed on her head and it even felt old against her head. So, judging by the other kids faces you can hear me, so here it goes. I want to be where I will be liked and have friends. I'd like Gryffindor. If you don't want to put me there then just don't put me in Slytherin. I know it's your final decision but just let me have friends. She knew she was probably being a bit arrogant to the hat, but her thoughts needed to be known. She patiently waited for the hat to make it's decision.

"Gryffindor, huh? Sure thing: GRYFFINDOR!"

I like that in your sorting form, for the quidditch scenario, you assumed the captain was a girl; most people assume the captain to be a male. ^_^

Aqua stand upon in front of the wooden oak doors of what they called The Great Hall, waiting for it to be open and as instructed to them, they will be called one by one and will be sorted. The eleven year old girl can not wait to be sorted, she was curious on why the new student have to be sorted, nevertheless she is new after all and never heard of a school called Hogwarts New Zealand. As the door opened, the group started to walk in the aisle with bunch of higher students at the side sitting in long four benches. She noticed the front long bench was for the staffs because of their much adult looking figure, at last, the group stopped in front of the staffs and an old man spoke of greeting and welcome.

Aqua can not keep her hands steady as she was very nervous of what is the out come of her sorting. Once the old man in front started to call names, each student has to sit in a tall stool and an old talking hat will be put on top of your head. It comes to A's, B's, C's - Q's and then R's where her last name starts, the whole great hall was in deep silence as Aqua started to walk at the the tall stool. She then turned around to sit facing the student body, her nerves was shaking terribly, she can as well feel her sweat on her forehead. The old man told her a good luck and placed the hat on top of her head. Aqua took a deep breath and started thinking, I really do not know how this sorting works but I will not judge what the hat says to me because my mom once told me that you just have believe in yourself and you will get what you want. But hat, I will accept anything you say, I don't care which house you put me because in the end I will be successful.

She smiled to herself a bit, thinking all of that makes her more kind and the hat might think she is a harmless eleven year old girl. Aqua might look like that but sometimes she defend herself as well to the people who hurt her and her family and friends. She then took a deep refreshing breath as she waited for the hat to sort her.

"I'm quite sure you belong in HUFFLEPUFF!"

In the Great Hall of Hogwarts was a sea of people, each of them destined to be great in their very own way. They will set off on a journey, in which everyone calls life, and this will be the first step in their unique journey that is about to unfold. Today was the day of Sorting, the day where those who have been accepted into Hogwarts will be segregated into four different houses, through their personality and traits. Those brimming with courage and loyalty, Gryffindor. Those spilling with brains and wit, Ravenclaw. Those honourable and upright, Hufflepuff. And last but not least, those cunning and sneaky, Slytherin.

Vito stood among the sea of people, adjusting the robes that parted down the center, revealing a sweater worn over a shirt and a tie. He looked around, at the people milling around him, all waiting to be sorted, and the people seated on the benches, most eager for Sorting to be over, and for the feast to begin. Vito smiled to himself, quite happy that he is in such a place. He had always wondered what he would do for an education as he grew up, and this place gave him his answer. It was special, unlike normal, Muggle schools which he found decisively boring. All they learnt was languages, science and math, and the reason they learnt was because of public examination, to get a good job in life etcetera. All boring.

Humming a song to himself, Vito tapped his feet along to the beat and waited patiently as the line infront of him dwindled. As the Sorting order came by first names, Vito was stuck in the middle of everyone, it being "M". Slowly, Vito found himself standing behind no one at all, and his name was called. Striding forward, Vito took a deep breath to get rid of the nagging insecurity that had grown inside him.

"While I could see you in various houses, only one stands out in my mind. Your loyalty and honest nature put you in HUFFLEPUFF!"

As an aside, I would like to note that your personal preference was taken in to account, and if it's close preference usually decides. This one wasn't very close, though.

Wow, Hogwarts was pretty darn HUGE! Tara hadn't been expecting anything like the Great Hall when she had received her Hogwarts letter. She had been expecting something similar to her school back home - small and hopefully near the beach. Tara had been extremely disappointed to hear the Hogwarts didn't have its own private beach, but even worse was the fact that there was no dance classes anywhere. Tara didn't know how she would survive! Tara, you're just being a little diva again. Tara's mum's words rang in her head. Easy for her to say, she was currently living in New York, dancing her heart out. Tara tried to forget about her family for a second so she could take in her surroundings. All in all, it's not so bad. she figured, waiting for her name to be called. "Fern, Tara." Tara smiled and made her way to the Sorting Hat. She watched all the other people in the hall sit at their own coloured table, wondering which table she would be sitting at in a few minutes.

"Might as well be GRYFFINDOR!"

Oliver had not given much thought to how he would feel when he walked into the Great Hall of Hogwarts and see the looming sky cluttered with levitating candles and heard the loud chatter of his fellow students. He was happy, sad to be so far from home. But happy to be in the place he had dreamed about being his whole life. It was the beginning of the best seven years of his life and he was gonna enjoy every last minute of it no matter what it took. I did feel a little weird as he walked in silence down through the table gap towards the front of the hall with his fellow first years whilst the other students looked on. He couldn't imagine any of them enjoyed being starred at when they were first years so why do it to him. However, Oliver was sure that next year and the next and so on, he would stare at the new firsts as everyone else does. He didn't like to think of himself a conformist but let’s face it when everyone in the room is starring at something you just gotta stare too. Its almost the polite thing to do. The group was brought to a sudden stop and an old hat was brought forward and placed on a stool. Despite its state, the hat seemed to intimidate the first years and made everyone else in the room fall into a respectful silence. The professor that led them into the room pulled out a sheet of parchment and began to read names of it, one by one the fresh faces stepped up to the stool and was placed in either: Gryffindor, Ravenclaw, Hufflepuff or Slytherin. So far, Gryffindor has received the most new students. Not by much but never the less, this was the case. No one ever seemed unhappy with their placement, almost as if the hat places you in the house of your choice, that or no one really cares what house they are placed in. Before Oliver could decide where he wanted to be for himself, he was called up to the stool. Slowly, he followed the footsteps of every first year student before him and gently sat on the stool. He hadn't made his decision, but no doubt, the hat knew before he did where he wanted to be.

"RAVENCLAW!"

Georgie, who just received her letter that she was a witch, she actively and proudly walked in the middle of the hall with the other witches and wizards. Wjen her name was finally called, she excitedly sat down on the stool, the Sorting Hat on her head, hoping she will be put in Gryffindor.

"Gryffindor? Sorry, but you're more of a Hufflepuff or a Ravenclaw. But which one? Hmmm.... Rowena did want the intellects. Sure. RAVENCLAW!"

Lucy was really a shy girl. So while it is the Sorting Ceremony, she waited eagerly for her name to be called. "Stewart, Lucy", and she was like 'OMG, this is it'. She immediately ran up the stool and waited for the Hat to tell what House does she belong.

"Undoubtedly a HUFFLEPUFF!"

my hands get cold and clammy, i'm a little disappointed no one has even talked to me yet, but i'm already excited to do spells, like "stupefy" or occlumecy! i want a head start! im hyper inside and hoping that i don't do anything stupid.. they call my name.. i try to stand, my feet are shaking, i try to walk all elegantly, i kept in mind "dont do anything stupid" oops! too late! i trip, i hear a roar of laughter from the slytherin stable, ooh, my blood started to boil, the gryffindors were giving me thumbs up, i stand up and continue my way towards the sorting hat, i could feel my heart beating out of my chest, but as soon a s the sorting hat touched me, i felt like i belong.. it began to speak, i knew the hat could read my thoughts, i just hope im not in slytherin!

Troyee walked into the Great Hall, or rather, was pushed into it by her eager fellow first years. The grandness of the hall seemed too much to take in all at once, leaving her looking around, as bewildered as most of the students around her. The older students seated on the house tables looked intimidating, and more than being sorted, she was worried about making a fool of herself in front of her seniors. As the professor made her way down the alphabetical name list, Troyee listened keenly, not wanting to miss her name. She was already making her way through the buzzing crowd as the 'M's began.
"Marley, Troyee."
She had barely pronounced the first syllable when Troyee was on her way down the hall. She imagined that everyone's eyes were on her, their burning gaze causing embarrassment to creep up her neck and render her cheeks pink. Her feet had found their way to the lone stool, which she carefully placed herself in. She didn't get a look at the great hall from the stool as the tattered hat slid over her raven black hair and obscuring her vision. Staring intently into the darkness, she waited for the hat's decision, her heart fluttering in the silence.

"Your hardworking nature puts you in HUFFLEPUFF!"

The place was full of people. Students of other year sitting at their house tables, ready to enjoy their dinner, professors, some of them talking lively to each other, others waiting for the ceremony to start, and first years, gathered at the center of the great hall, under the hovering candles.
Joaquin rolled his eyes as the headmaster begun his speech. He preferred to have a look at the tables for his brothers but the place was so crowded that he was unable to concentrate on a single face. He turned again to the headmaster who seemed to have ended his speech after 5 long minutes and Joaquin followed the applause of the other students, rather bored.

His attention was focused on the old hat, standing on a stool. After a moment the first student was summoned for what appeared to be the sorting process. Joaquin eyes widened surprised, as a moth and two eyes appeared on the patched hat and starting speaking. A few seconds passed and it shouted the name of one of Hogwarts four houses.
Ridiculous he thought as he found the whole process quite lame and stupid. He waited a lot, with his arms crossed on his chest when he heard his name.
He stepped up quickly as he couldn't wait anymore and sat down on the stool with the had on his head.

C'mon what are you waiting for? Only Slytherin suits me the best. he thought as he waited for the hat's decision.

"You're right. SLYTHERIN!"

Sapphire groaned inwardly at the sight of her fellow first years. What the heck? Why was everyone so excited? She honestly didn't understand, nor care why everyone seemed to be so happy about being sorted. It was just a house, for goodness sake! All her old schools had houses too, and there honestly wasn't anything remotely interesting about any of them. Sapphire didn't understand the whole concept of 'magic' in the first place. Wave a wand to make stuff happen? It sounded like sheer laziness to her. Oh well, these nutjobs seemed to think that magic was totally super awesome. Whoop-de-do Sapphire found herself thinking as she attempted to fix her hair without people noticing. Her darling mother had put Sapphire's hair into a ballerina bun on top of her head, complete with a sickeningly pink ribbon, butterfly clips and far too much hairspray. Sapphire had made it her mission to make her hair as messy as possible - and was succeeding so far. "Cahill, Sapphire" was called and Sapphire felt an unexplainable surge of anger. Maybe it was because she hated people staring at her. She wasn't shy in the least, but she hated it when people judged her. But she had to be sorted in front of the whole school, so whatever. Butterfly clips whacking her cheek, Sapphire Cahill went up to the sorting hat. As the hat was placed on her tangled hair, Sapphire found herself wondering two things: one, was this magic thing really going to be so bad? And two, would it make her mother mad? Sapphire's mother and anything out of the ordinary were not compatible. Maybe Hogwarts wouldn't be so bad for Sapphire...

"I think you'll come to respect magic, and there isn't a better place to do that than in SLYTHERIN!"

Samual looked in awe at the things around him, his sister had told him the Hogwarts was big but she did not mention that it was massive, Samual felt like an ant amongst giants as he looked up at the roof. When Samual heard his name being called he walked up the steps and sat on the stool, he was not nervous, in fact he was more excited and confident than anything else, he patiently awaited to be sorted, not entirely sure if he was supposed to do anything so he just waited for a sign.
