Sky was walking toward the great hall and there were many students who were not sorted. When her name was called, she walked toward the stool and waited for the sorting hat to put on her head. She calmed herself and tried not to panic when the sorting hat spoke. She tightly closed her eyes.

"HUFFLEPUFF!"

Terry walked among the other students, his face pale and, for the first time in his life, he was nervous. "You can do this.." he muttered to himself as the names were called. It wasn't long before he heard his own..

"Bolt, Terrance."

Terry swallowed hard, walking to the front of the hall, his palms sweating. He sat down on the stool and the hat was placed over his head. It fell down over his eyes, pushing his ears into a folded position so they looked like donkey ears. He blushed a little, waiting in the silence for something to happen. And, after a moment, a voice spoke..

"SLYTHERIN!"

Her heart racing and her head pounding she stood in amongst the students waiting to be sorted. It was times like these she felt like a locked up caged beast , she hated waiting for things but had to live with it more than often without choice.Bitting her nails nervously she swung her hair back over her shoulders , idely playing with herself to amuse the passing moments. Then it happened , she was called."Warwick...Zoey!".

Nearly falling over in shock she straightened her stance and walked up.She wasent afriad of the choice process , just frustrated that it would all come down to this moment. It seemed a unfair and inacurate call , especially when people can change so much.whispering under her breath she begged for the house she wanted and the house her farther had grown under the wing of.Or well mane."Gryffindor , please , Gyffindor.."

"ALRIGHT! GRYFFINDOR!"

Meiling entered the great hall of the said school, its was a cozy hall and she like it but a little disturbing about the Professor in the school. She doesn't know if they are bad nor good but her parents said that the Professor in this school are very good ... in their time at least. Meiling and the group of students filed in front of a high stool and an old, dusty, ruined, and well ... old hat on top of it. The man in front called students one by one alphabetically and the student who was called was sorted into their houses, Meiling sigh as her last name was Xue and everyone knows that its in the very last and it will take hours to get there. But thanked god that she was called after the boy with a last name starting on 'W', Meiling was called "Xue, Meiling." The man who happened to be the Headmaster called her, she on the other hand went straight forward at the high stool and the old hat was placed on top of her head. Okay, Mr. hat, Enchanted hat or whatever they called you. This is it, you have to do what you have to do, you hold the key to my success but If I were you put me on the best house ever because it would be fun or ... not. I really don't know, I shouldn't be here but my parents let me go and I missed them so much that I will run towards that big oak doors and go back to China. Take your time on thinking my house, Meiling talked to the hat on her mind because that was her parents said about it, she looked up at the hat even it hurts and smiled.

"You hold the key to your own future. I just determine a bit of your next seven years. With that said, you're obviously a SLYTHERIN!"

Tamalia heard her name spoken and walked up to the sorting hat, she was a little excited but it did not show, she put the hat on her head wondering what she will be in, the hat moved a little as it get ready to say what house she would be in, Tamalia held her breathe.

"You're difficult. Could be a lot of places. Hmm... I suppose you're best for GRYFFINDOR!"

Nerissa walked into the great hall with the rest of the unsorted students. They stop in front of a man, and a stool with the Sorting Hat on top. Suddenly, her name was called. "Quirante, Nerissa." said the man. She walked to the stool and sat on it as the man placed the Sorting Hat on her head. She kept quiet, but in her mind she said, "Not Ravenclaw. I'm not smart enough to be a Ravenclaw. Any house but Ravenclaw." she thought. She waited for the Sorting Hat to say it's decision.

"Sometimes the simple desire to learn is enough. I know you don't want this, bu- ... Fine then. Not Ravenclaw? HUFFLEPUFF!"

Dakota stood around the gathering first years who surround all around him. He still wasn't called yet but he was in no hurried. He rather be last if anything, choosing a house wasn't his sort of thing. When his name finally got called he March forward to face the hat alone. It was a nervous task to do, when you was facing that hat alone. Dakota remind himself it wouldn't be so bad, it was just a hat. So he sat down, and the hat was put upon his head as he did. Dakota closed his eyes and waited till it was over. All he wanted was to be in Ravenclaw since the Raven had symbolize importance in his ancestors tribe.

"Simple enough. RAVENCLAW!"

Dante walked along the huge hall, aware that many eyes followed the crowd of first years. For the first time since he had reached Hogwarts, he felt nervous. What if he didn't make it into Gryffindor? His whole family, except for his father, had all been Gryffindors. As they reached the podium, nervousness overtook him. Sweat was starting to cover his forehead. He didnt want to be in Hufflepuff or Ravenclaw. Slytherin he would put up with, but Gryffindor was what he wanted.

As the Sorting Hat called his name, Dante pushes his way through the crowd and sits himself on the seat. As the hat comes down on his head, he looses his breath and closes his eyes as it makes it decision.

"Gryffindor? You come from a family of them, don't you? Well, you could do well there. You love adventure... but I see your ambitions are quite high. You've got goals, and you mean to reach them. I think you'll fit in most in SLYTHERIN!"

Jonathan walks into the Great Hall, amazed by the amount of people, and decoration. He is standing there, annoyed that the sorting is taking so long. He decides to sit down at a small space on a table, he sits and is then quickly ushered up by a group of Gryffindor students to not cause confusion as to when he needs to be sorted. So he walks over to another table and finds another empty gap and sits where he hears his name called, "Xiantion, Jonathan!" He walks up to the stool and the sorting hat, as he goes to move the hat as it is pulled up by, to Jonathan, an unknown man quickly, so he does not touch the hat. He sits on the stool and waits for the hat to be placed on his head. He sits while he waits thinking, "this is going to take forever," as the hat is placed on his head. "Took long enough, all these people are probably mudbloods. Ugh." The hat sits there for a second and Jonathan thinks, "is this going to take any longer?" He feels the hat begin to move slightly...

"This will take as long as I want it to take. If you have a problem with that, perhaps I needn't sort you? Right. Thought you might see it my way. You could do well in a plethora of places - but I'll put you in SLYTHERIN!"

Oh man im scared, no wait im not! I can do anything........wow this hall is amazing! look at all those people, ok thats my name.... here i go! Wow this sure is an old hat, slightly wierd way to sort people into houses...but whatever floats your boat!

"GRYFFINDOR!"

Jason was looking forward to starting the year at Hogwarts. He hadn't met many people yet, but he hoped that would change. He would like to have more friends at this school. He heard his name being called, and went up to the front of the Great Hall. The sorting hat was placed on his head, and Jason waiting for the hat to yell out his house. Gryffindor! He thought, his fingers crossed.

"Gryffindor? Hmmm. No, no. You're a HUFFLEPUFF!"

Gabriel stood up as his name was called. It seemed the the best house to be in was Gryffindor so that's what he wanted to be in. Top in Class, then top in Year was his goal for this year. And then prefect to help along the school and finally Head Boy. This school seemed pretty organised and up to date but he was sure that in the years leading up to Prefect he would find slight falws that he would strive to correct in his position. Maybe he would start asking people now what they wanted to be chnaged. he hoped to make this the best school ever. This was what he thought as he stepped up to the stool and as the hat enveloped his head he started to hope that he would be able to make the school great. "Not Slytherin. Gryffindor please, Gryffindor please, Gryffindor please." he could hear the hat start to speak and wished.

"Alright! GRYFFINDOR!"

Dumbledore announced that next week will be the "Sorting Day". Everyone started chatting feeling nervous yet excited. Then the day came, Cassandra was walking up the hall, nervous, and stood beside her friends. The room was quiet, clear because of the bright candle lamps, and filled with mystery. Then the sorting hat started calling names... After a few minutes, "Cassandra Crimson!" the sorting hat said.

"RAVENCLAW!"

Hyeori had never agree being sent to Hogwarts, she had wished that she could stay in Korea with her family. Hyeori was never a big fan of school, she was a shy girl and a very talented girl at the same time. One of the reason why she didn't want to go to Hogwarts was that she could never ice skate. She had loved the muggle sports and she couldn't be able to play it again once she got into Hogwarts.

She eyed the group of unsorted student as she shiver, feeling nervous and scared. In a minute, she heard her name being called. She stood up as she walk toward the stool and sat. She look at the other students as she waited the hat to sort her.

"HUFFLEPUFF!"

"Davis, Kynleigh." The energetic eleven year old bounced up to the front of the Great Hall and took her place onto the stool where the others had. She was only slightly nervous, but more so excited than anything. As the sorting hat was placed upon her head she grinned brightly. In just few moments her fate would be decided and she would be placed in the house that would be her home for the next seven years. She was practically bursting at the seams to know where she would fit in.

"GRYFFINDOR!"

Max stood amongst the crowd of first years nervously, his eyes darting about the room frantically, trying to take everything about the place in as though he would never see it again. He listened as the large man at the front of the large room, bathed in a golden halo of light from the numerous candles floating above their heads cast against a starry night. Soon enough the man pulls out a scroll and begins to call the names aloud, one by one eleven year olds of different shapes and sizes all walked from the crowd up to the small stool where their fate for the next seven years of their lives was started with little more than one word from the frayed hat. His nerves piled on him bit by bit as every student was sorted, the list slowly crawling up to the M's where his name would be listed.

After what seemed like an eternity of waiting Max finally heard the magic words he had been waiting for to get out of the spotlight. "Master, Maxwell!" the man called, his voice low and a bit threatening to the small boy. Taking small quick steps he was soon sitting upon the stool where he placed the old hat on his head, the folds drooping over his face, giving him a small comfort of not having every eye in the place upon him. Oh please hat, Slytherin would be grand but I just want to be sorted. he thought, unsure if the hat could even hear his small plea. Not knowing how else to work this he simply sat there as the hat delved deep into his psyche, choosing where he truly belonged.

"Slytherin? No, no. That's not you at all! You're a HUFFLEPUFF!"

entering the great hall, all eyes were looking to fireslasher. nervously standing, fireslasher heard her name being called, running as fast as she could, she reached the chair and sat on it. the hat instantly dropped on her head and the sorting came..

"No doubt here. You're ambitions alone place you in SLYTHERIN!"

Autumn had already been sorted and now it was Patience's turn. "Rivers, Patience." The black haired girl carefully scaled the steps to the stool. The hat was a strange sight, patchy and old but there was this aura of amazing magic around it and Patience wan't to know what it was. The stool was hard but no-one before her had noticed so maybe she was just over-reacting. Suddenly her blue eyes were pitched into darkness as the hat was placed on her head. "You are a strange hat, but I suppose you have a lot of magic stored away in you. How do you work, Mr Hat? Do you have a job during the days when we are all milling about classes?" Patience felt a little silly once she realised that all she was rambling on about was making her sound like an idiot to the hat. "Autumn is in Ravenclaw, is it too much to ask that I could be there too to help her stick up for herself?" The time had come and she bit her lip anticipating the answer of the hat.

"What house you are in has nothing to do with who else is in that house. Why must everybody think they can influence sorting by knowing people in houses? Fortunately for you, I haven't the slightest doubt in my mind for your house - and I think you'll be quite pleased. That's right. Your wisdom and desire to learn places you in RAVENCLAW!"

Neive was at home packed and ready stood up awaiting to go. Just another barrier to get over first before i head off to my new life. Neive thought. It was to break the secret that she was going and leaving the mess behind that had took over her life for a while. a big cloud of mist down but now being lifted was the effect the family had on neives life. They had kept her protected from the truth. she was living behind a door of lies and stuck on a seat of guilt, hate and depression of her family. Due to neive loosing close relatives such as her younger two siblings. kept a secret from her for many years and for many birthdays. This had destroyed neive on the inside not having anybody to talk to and her parents being out till late. She needed somebody to talk to but there was no one. There was her younger siblings but they were in care and in a better place. Her mother and Father had abandoned them one night as they didnt want neive to have any fun or relationship with someone that she could share emotion with. This destroyed neive on the inside and brought her to applying for hogwarts. This was the breakthrough for her.

Neive sat nervously awaiting to be called. Her hands shaking, then a bleak look of nervousness came across her face, but this was equal with the excitement and knowledge of being here at the famous hogwarts. She knew her life would change from now on. This opportunity had opened alot of doors for Nieve and now it was time to start a fresh, a new life away from the past. It was time, it was Neives turn. She walked up to the hat steadily and sat down and made herself comfortable. The hat was perched on her head and then it was time for the hats verdict on which group neive was going to be put in.

"No doubt you're a RAVENCLAW!"

Kyla walked confidently up to the seat when her name was called, the hat was lowered, 'okay hello mr.hat or whatever your name is! please make the best choice...SLYTHERIN!SLYTHERIN!SLYTHERIN?!?' the hat moved a tiny bit and Kyla realized that it was about to speak...

"Slytherin? Hmmm. Yes, I suppose so! SLYTHERIN!"

Kyra Lynn missed her family, but she was ecstatic to be at Hogwarts. She had never been to a boarding school before, and was looking forward to it. During the train ride to the school Kyra had though about a great many things, and she had figured out that she couldn't fake sick to get out of doing homework here, as the teachers would check anyway. Still, Kyra planned to try anything to stop homework.

She wondered what the big pointy hat did, and why people were having on their heads. Kyra was a very observant girl, and it soon became clear to her that the hat put people into houses. Kyra had done a little research on the four houses of Hogwarts, and from the information she had found, Hufflepuff sounded to be a very nice house to be in. At her old school Kyra had been put into a school house because the rest of her family was in it. Here it seemed that your personality defined the house you were to be placed in.

"Lynn, Kyra." Kyra was suddenly shy, and felt people staring at her as she walked up to the hat. The hat was placed on her head and she waited patiently for the verdict.

"Ravenclaw? No, no. Hufflepuff. But Ravenclaw would fit you so wel... Hmmm... No. It has to be HUFFLEPUFF!"

Jennica walked to the Great Hall with the rest of the students. They stood in front of a man a stool and an old hat above it. A bunch of students were called until finally the S came. They were called one-by-one until finally, "Servano, Jennica." the man said. She walked to the stool and placed the hat on her head and said, "Get this over with, Hat." she said, "I don't want to last long here." she continued and waited impatiently for the hat's decision.

"SLYTHERIN!"

Pheabea walked into the hall with everybody else. She looked over to the red table and, sure enough, Ryker was watching her as he promised. She smiled, she felt safe with his eyes on her, less nervous at least. She waited and watched as the people surrounding her went up to the chair and the hat sorted them. She waited patiently until it eventually reached her name. "Henrick, Pheabea." She walked up and sat on the stool, connecting eyes with her brother. She didn't think anything, just waited, finally the hat spoke. It said;

"RAVENCLAW!"

Locke Woods, a very energetic individual was sitting down, talking to other students when his name was called to come up and get sorted into a house. He said, "Well, time for me to get sorted." He reaches the front, now the sorting hat is on him and Locke says, "I have no preference, to whichever house you put me in, I will be for the best and will make of the best. One thing though, please make your decision carefully."

"I think you might thrive in GRYFFINDOR!"
