Karly heard names being called one by one. Was she nervous? Not at all.
"Brooke, Karly".
Karly composed herself and spat out her gum. Then she strode over to the stool. She hugged herself happily.
"Ravenclaw" She muttered, smiling at her friends who had just been sorted into that House.
She shut her eyes tightly and wished for the world that she could be with her friends

"Yes! RAVENCLAW!"

Rose was nervous that when she was called she hoped she wouldn't fall on her face.

"Rose Love" the professor called out, as she walked up she hoped it would be Gryffindor.

"Gryffindor? Alright, then. GRYFFINDOR!"

Angel stood among the other students waitting to be sorted hoping that she would be put in hufflepuff.

"Angel Roberts" the voice called out as she walked forward she looked around noticing people who were her friends. "Hufflepuff" she muttered.

"You have all become too good at knowing where you belong. I need a job, too, you know! HUFFLEPUFF!"

Alex Mcpeak stood looking around watching everyone get sorted. "Alex Mcpeak" he heard him being called and walked up. "Please Slytherin" he whispered.

"Slytherin? Well, you could do well there, but your thirst for knowledge and your inherent wisdom places you in RAVENCLAW!"

i step foward trrying to be calm as much as posible the hats on my head its going though my mymind please be in griffindor i wisper

"No, not Gryffindor. HUFFLEPUFF!"
Note: Remember to roleplay in the third person. "He" instead of "I" and "his" instead of "my"

Mikkie was at the edge and is going to be sorted today, he was nervous because her mom didn't told him that there is kind of sorting in this school. Well, her mom came from Beauxbatons, there aren't any sorting happening in there. He nervously stopped in front with the others. As the man called one by one alphabetically, he keep thinking to be brave and listen what the hat told him.

"Rogers, Mikkie." The man called to him.

He looked up and walked in front and taking the 3 flights of steps. Mikkie took a sit at the stool and the hat was placed to his head, Please, Hat. I really don't know about this houses, I'm scared but i should be brave my mom told me. As he thought many things, the only person on his head was his sister.

"You really don't need to be brave - you'll do perfectly fine in HUFFLEPUFF!"

As Trixxie entered the Great hall with the other new students, she felt elated. She was finally here, at Hogwarts! After all the years of waiting, this was finally happening - the Sorting Ceremony! As all the First Years lined up at the front of the hall, she spotted the Sorting Hat on a rickety stool. Then suddenly, a rip in the hat opened up and it started to sing! She listened carefully to the song, and when it had finished, applauded with everyone else. Hmm.. she couldn't decide which house she was best suited to! This didn't bother Trixxie though. She felt confident in her abilities - she knew she was clever, and couldn't wait to start learning magic, whichever house she was placed in! However, she did feel a twinge of uncertainty - would she fit in here? Would she make friends? She'd had plenty in her hometown, but had always been a bit of an outsider at the private Muggle school she had attended. She'd never bonded with anyone in particular, had never felt she had anything in common with anyone. Trixxie shook herself, trying to shrug off this worry. It's OK, this is Hogwarts! she told herself. Everyone here is just like you, relax! Just then, she heard a voice call her name.

"Pompeii, Trixxie!"

She heard whispers erupt all around the hall. "Is that her?""Is that Ernest Pompeii's daughter?". This surprised Trixxie. She was used to people recognising her father - it's to be expected when you play Quidditch for Ireland - but she had never expected that people would know who she was! She wasn't used to this, and it unsettled her slightly. However, the whispers subsided almost straight away. Trixxie took a deep breath, and walked forward to the little stool. She picked up the hat, and sat down. She placed it slowly on her head, where it fell past her eyes. She held her breath, and waited for the voice...

"GRYFFINDOR!"

Sandie entered the Great Hall along with the other first years, a wide grin on her face as she took everything in. The place was amazing, and as her eyes scanned the four house tables, she couldn't contain her excitement and began to jump up and down a little, until they were told to listen in. They were told that one by one, they would be called up to be sorted by the old Hat, and once he had decided on which house to place them in, they would take a seat at there house table. Sandie had no idea were she would be placed, she knew all about the houses, but wasn't sure were she belonged. She would let the hat tell her, she had decided long ago, he knew best after all. Considering her name was pretty far down the alphabet, she had a while to wait before her name was called, but she finally heard "Sandie Treasure" and practically bounced her way up to the three-legged stool. Taking a seat, she stared out at the sea of faces before her. All eyes were on her, she liked that, she really liked that! Grinning, she tucked a long piece of wavy blond hair behind her ear as the hat was sat on her head. "Well, Mr Sorting Hat.." she thought, "Were do I belong?".

"Hold on, hold on. Be patient - this does take a moment, you know. You belong in SLYTHERIN!"

She felt like she was one some muggle game show waiting to be told who would be voted off the island or to be announced as to who is the next American Idol. Though this young witch knew it was neither such things as she entered the completely decked out Great Hall full of students ranging in ages from 11 to 18 years old. As she walked she almost waited for the lights to dim like they would if she was truly on the tele. Instead this was something much more important. She was at the sorting ceremony ready to be put in her new house. Aisling had prepared long hours for this day. She had even almost gone through a crisis trying to figure out how she should look. Her hair, which was recently dyed blonde in the summer, was cut to one of the shortest lengths yet. Yesterday her hair almost fell past her butt. Today however it was just above the shoulder blades maybe even shorter. It had been a last minute decision and though she liked her new hair better than the long version she still wasn't content with it. Never was she content though.

The headmaster spoke giving them a welcome and of course some of the rules. Typical. All professors found that it was needed to give the rules right from the start. God were they puppies or something? Finally the hat began it's song. Closer. Closer. Aisling's nerves were getting the better of her as she tapped her foot lightly and starting boucning just a little bit unable to stay still. Excited, Nervous, Happy. All seemed to flow through the body of this young girl as the hat began to read off names. Couldn't they start with first names?!? Then Aisling would be one of the first. But no they started with last which didn't leave this young girl too far behind.

A, B, C, D, E, F, G, and finally H. "Harper, Aisling" The voice called. Her ears now ringing with her own name and the chatter amongst the students. "Breath Just take a breathe. This will be okay" She spoke to herself quietly as her feet dragged her up to the seat set out for them. Without really thinking too much about her actions or the surrounding people with all eyes on her, she sat down her foot still tapping the ground. Her thoughts going all around without one single meaning or staying on one single topic. Okay I'm here. It's sorting. There's the hat. I wonder what Zora is going to think about me being sorted first. Mother will be proud. Maybe I'll start up my my art club here. Pottery. Oh god did I remember clay. Am I allowed clay here. Do they have clay in the wizarding world. I'm being sorted. I wonder if they have a shop for it in the village. I should check after this. What do I do after this, after being sorted. Oh god I'm going to be sorted. Which house Which house. I dont' know. Mr. Hat I surely don't know what I want. You know you should suggest art being taken as a class. It could replace Potions or be a choice instead

"Well, you could be a little more focused - but nevertheless... GRYFFINDOR!"

"Lucia Nell" She had heard her named called out. She looked up with surprise and looked around sheepishly, almost hoping for another Lucia Nell to walk up for her. She took a quick, frightened breath and walked up to the stool, where the hat was placed on her head, but due to the hats size, it's brim dropped in front of her eyes. She didn't mind this now that she didn't have to glance around the many eyes staring at her. She shivered slightly. I... I don't care which house... j... just sort me please..., she thought anxiously.

"HUFFLEPUFF!"

Erica swarmed into the Great Hall with so many other students. The atmostphere around her was buzzing with excitement.
She stood behind two girls with their arms linked. They were chatting away and saying something about the ceiling.
Erica turned her head upwards, staring at the starry and slightly cloudy sky above her head, her jaw dropping.
It was truly beautiful. Candles floated around too and older students sat at their tables.
Erica began to notice that there were three colours- Green, Red, Yellow and Blue.
These must be different houses.. Erica thought to herself as she suddenly heard something speak.
Forcing herself onto her tip-toes, Erica could see a-
"Talking hat?" Erica sounded in astonishment, turning a little pink as a few girls turned to face her.
Erica did not know what to expect now.
She waited patiently as one by one students walked to the front of the hall and sat beneath a hat, waiting for it to call out one of the houses.

Come Erica's turn, her confidence was leaving her.
"Jessamine, Erica" A voice called from somewhere at the front.
Erica didn't move for a moment. She could feel her knees going weak.
"You can do this.." she muttered to herself, "Come on."
Erica straightened up, made her way to the front, sat down on the stall and felt the large hat being placed on her head.
She was so petite that the hat slipped down over her eyes.
I hope don't get laughed at.. Erica thought to herself, I bet I wont fit in..
Erica gave a sudden gulp, awaiting the verdict.

"GRYFFINDOR!"

Yuki slowly walked up to the seat where thousands of students over the years had sat, and where there future's started to play out once the soft fabric of the hat was set lightly on their heads. She was extremely nervous, but looking back out into the crowd, she saw her sister Kaede. Making eye contact, her sister smiled and gave her a thumbs up, her symbol that told Yuki that everything would be okay. Smiling, she lightly sat on the stool, waiting for the hat to decide her future.

"Yuki... your desire to make sure you succeed - maybe even at all costs - places you in SLYTHERIN!"

Myra continued to read his book as his peers began to get sorted. The book was about a butterfly which has helped a prince kill a dragon. Myra wanted to be like the butterfly. When his name was called, Myra shut his book close and walked up towards the stool. That hat was being placed on his head. It was his turn now..

"You'll be back to that book soon enough. RAVENCLAW!"

Over the past seven years, Tony had dreamt of the day he would be able to study Transfiguration; and of the day he would finally understand what his abilities truly were. This day had finally arrived. Having collected his trunk, and placed Peaches into her travel box; Tony made his way toward the station platform where large groups of Hogwarts students where standing; looking excited; talking; hugging; or looking slightly nervous. Non of this bothered Tony, and he spent the entire train journey re-reading his Transfiguration book his cousin had given him some years before; letting his pet cat out of her box to allow her some exercise, and to lay out across the spare seat opposite.

As the food cart came around, Tony wondered slightly where Trinity was. He hadn't seen her since his accident, and wondered if she would still be trust-worthy enough to be a friend. The last thing he wanted now was for her to hurt him. Not now he was just starting his years at Hogwarts. Time seemed to drift by slowly, as Tony sat staring out of the window; watching the landscape slip past. Thoughts returned to soaring above the clouds on his very own broom. A broom he would first need to learn how to balance on.

Arriving at Hogwarts, all of the first year students where directed into the great hall; where they had to wait for their names to be called, before heading up to an enchanted hat; which would place them into a house it deemed them worthy for. Walking through the hall, Tony caught sight of the blue eyed girl he had come to trust; and made his way over to her. Un-sure whether it was a good time to talk to Trinity, Tony simply stood near her; and watched as the large group of new students placed the dusty old hat upon their heads, before proceeding to their house tables; to a roar of cheers and clapping.

Hearing Trinity's name called, Tony turned his head slightly; noticing she was still standing with the group. Wondering whether she had heard her own name, Tony gave her a slight nudge; and smiled as she walked towards the hat. "That girl is certainly strange." he thought to himself. As Trinity left the hat, Tony's eyes followed her as she headed over to the Gryffindor table. His heart sank slightly. Would he ever have a chance to see her throughout this first year. Tony had never put much thought into a house. His mother had been a Ravenclaw student; his auntie was in Hufflepuff; and his uncle was in Slytherin. Not a single member of his family was in Gryffindor.

After what seemed like an eternity, Tony's name was finally called out. Scuffing his feet as he made his own way toward the old hat, Tony decided he would rather be back at home. Pulling himself onto the stool, Tony placed the hat onto his head; and allowed it to do it's thing. Memories of Amy flashed through his mind. How would everything have turned out if he was an ordinary muggle. Would Amy have left him then. Would his father still have left too. Somehow, sat under the old; dusty hat, Tony felt numb. The anger and hatred he normally felt for those who had left him was suppressed. He was able to think more clearly. Tony's thoughts changed to Transfiguration. It wouldn't be long before he could train to be an Animagus. It wouldn't be long before he was a skilled wizard.

Thoughts of the young blue eyed witch dominated his mind more than the others now. Tony really hoped he could rely on Trinity through his time here. He knew, deep down; as he waited on the hat to speak, that it wasn't going to be easy.

"Family history isn't everything, you know. Now - that's not to say you'd make a very good Gryffindor, because you wouldn't. You shouldn't worry about seeing your friend too much, either. Sheesh, kid. You're eleven. You've got plenty of friends to make, plus a future in Transfiguration to look forward to. Anyhow, go sit with your house and stop thinking so damned much. RAVENCLAW!"

Darmorel couldn't stop staring at the hat as she slowly made her way over to the stool. She had seen it sit on others head's before her, and now it was her turn. Her hands were clasped together to keep her body from shaking. Wiping her clammy hands on her skirt, she clasped them back together. Shaking her head, she yelled at herself mentally. She would not be scared, not matter what. This was what she wanted. A new start, a new life...and this is where it would begin.

Taking one last deep breath, she calmly sat down, looked out at all the people at the tables, and waited.

"Your concern with being a good person tells me your future lies in the house of HUFFLEPUFF!"

Lily wandered into the hall, wondering if the bright butterfly hairclip perched on her red hair was against the uniform code. It probably was, but Lily had never worn a uniform before, so she honestly didn't care. She waited for a while, but it wasn't long for 'G' to start being called out. "Gray, Lily." Lily wandered up to the stool and sat down.

"It's dark in here." Lily commented as the hat was put on her head. She wondered how long this would take. She didn't mind people looking at her usually, she liked attention. But, right now she wanted to hurry up and be sorted. "Um, could you please put me in Gryffindor?" she asked.

"Yes, but not because you asked. It's because you belong there. GRYFFINDOR!"

Sandra watched the people around her get sorted. She was starting to get a little nervous. She hoped that the people would accept her for who she was. Her mother was a witch, and now Sandra was in Hogwarts. Victor was coming here in years to come, and Sandra was alone. Sandra sighed deeply. She missed her family. Was she already homesick? "Witchburn, Sandra!".

Sandra bit her lip as waited to be sorted.

"Your desire to be accepted points me to put you where you'll be accepted most. HUFFLEPUFF!"

Antanasia smiled, as she watched some of her friends get sorted. She watched Darian, Taemin and Nichkhun get sorted. They all looked happy to go to the house the hat had sorted them into. Antanasia hoped she would be as happy as them. When her name was called, she stood up gracefully and went over to the stool or whatever it was, waiting to be sorted.

"GRYFFINDOR!"

Lion entered the great hall, he looked around for his sister "Panda" he called out quietly, he had been split from her on the way here, he wanted her to be there with him when he got sorted.
Lion walked up with the group and felt eyes following him he didn't like being stared at it made him feel like people were judging him, but atleast they wern't only just looking at him.
Lion watched as people went up and got sorted into ther houses, it was interesting to watch how a hat could determine your house, let alone read what you were thinking, name by name people went up, got sorted and went to there seats. Lion felt butterflys in his stomach a cross between nervous and excited.

"Tormaigh, Lion"

he heard his name being called and he felt everyone staring at him, he walked up to the stool with confidence and sat down facing everyone, thousands of eyes were watching him and his confident side of him felt nervous, but at the same time excited the hat was placed on hs head and he looked out into the crowd of people and put on a smiled waiting for the hat to make its decision. "hurry hurry hurry" he whispered to himself, he didn't like so much attenton.

"HUFFLEPUFF!"

The whistle on the train sounded and Jadyn Heaton was off to Hogwarts New Zealand with her brother, Zachary, sitting across from her in the compartment. Above their heads sat hefty trunks laden with large books, delicate quills, stiff parchment, an array of clothes, and several sets of school robes all of which was intended to last each twin the entire school year or longer if they could manage it.

The pair sat in utter silence, Zachary sulking across from her moping, his face still looking angry. Apparently, he had asked their father about the Heaton Family History once again, as a last ditch attempt to hear about it before going off to school, and it had gone badly, as usual, resulting in Jadyn being required to ride with her moody brother the whole time. The silence between them grew tense as Jadyn let her emotions get the best of her, angry with him for not talking to her and practically ruining the morning at home before they left for school. For a moment, Jadyn tried to busy her mind wondering how life would be without walking up across the room from Yvette every morning or having to clean the house immediately following breakfast or babysitting while her parents were out. The thought upset her even more than she cared to admit. Growling to herself, she looked at her brother, who seemed to be avoiding her eye, and explained, "If you're just going to be a pain in the butt grump, I'm going to leave." Without waiting for an answer, however, Jadyn rose out of her seat and left the compartment to go find other people to talk to.

Wandering several cars down, Jadyn found a compartment filled with a mix of first years and older students, some of which she recognized and most of which she did not. She joined them and spent a rather pleasant ride discussing with them the sorting ahead as well as which houses the first years guessed they would be in along with plenty of other school anticipation topics to keep the occupied all the way into the station. When the train came to a stop, Jadyn exited the train with the group and followed the other first years where they were directed.

In the mess of students, Jadyn managed to find Zachary as they were entering the Great Hall on their way in to actually get sorted. The butterflies had finally started to set in and she was almost shaking with nervousness. What if she did not get into one of her parent's houses? That would make for some interesting conversation at Christmas dinner for certain. Regardless, she was walking down the center of the hall, flanked on either side by students and then two house tables, all of the faces of the older students pressing in on them, as if trying to pick out who would go into each house before they tried on the hat which was sitting at the end of the hall on a three legged stool. All of a sudden, the crowd stopped moving and Jadyn ran into the student in front of her, who turned around to glare at her before turning around and paying attention to the speech being made in front of them. The hat broke into a lovely song explaining each of the houses before going silent, at which point the students began being called up one by one in alphabetical order. The process was rather long and tedious but Jadyn knew she would not have to wait as long as some, having a last name earlier on in the alphabet.

She lowered her head and looked at the sea of shoes in front of her, trying to focus on something other than the butterflies in her stomach. Sooner than she would have liked, she heard her name get called. "Heaton, Jadyn" rang throughout the hall and she snapped her head up. With one last glance at her brother, as if this would be the last time she would see him the same way again, she pushed her way up to the stool and sat upon it. Closing her eyes and taking a deep breath, she allowed the heavy hat to be set on her head, much too large for her, covering almost her entire face. Mentally, she was prepared for the worst. She was not, however, expecting the hat to talk to her in her mind.

"You'd be quite the Hufflepuff, too bad you're not nearly as accepting as you let on. No, I guess you'll have to be a GRYFFINDOR!"

It was the day. Zachary was finally leaving this house to go to Hogwarts. This last few months had been unbearable, since the family had moved to New Zealand. While the young boy had always been more mischievous than his twin, he had gotten to be quite the handful recently. He knew his parents would miss him, and he suppose he would miss them eventually, but this was also the best thing for everyone.

Of course, having his twin sister along for the ride helped him greatly. Zachary knew that there would always be someone to turn to in the worst of times, something that the other first years may fear.

The morning started out like any other day in the Heaton household. Zachary was the last one up; he heard his mother quickly making breakfast, his father pacing (which meant that his father was nervous about something. Most likely having his little girl leave home), and the shouts of his younger siblings who were being fueled by the chaos. Breakfast was quick, and afterward there was last minute packing as the twins and their mother remember a few must haves.

Then, the train. The Platform itself was a mess with all the older students and the tiny first years pushing their way through. Zachary wasn't all that big yet, average for his age, and being surrounded by the older students made him feel intimidated. He didn't dare look at his mother, for fear of her deciding the twins were too young to leave home. Instead, he glanced at his father, who in turn placed his hand on his eldest son's shoulder. He stole a look at Jadyn, who was busy convincing Yvette, the youngest of his siblings, not to touch an owl. Then at little Bryan, who all of a sudden seemed not so little now that he was eight, clutching tightly to his mother's hand with his eyes wide at the sight of the train. This was it. Zachary barely remembered hugging his family goodbye, for the next thing he knew he was on the train. He couldn't tell if Jadyn looked back, but he knew he didn't.

He realized, upon stepping on the train, that he was clutching Jadyn's arm. Quickly he dropped it, not wanting to seem childish. "Come on then," he said simply, never one to talk much. The two found a compartment, and just as quickly as the two had settled Jadyn was out the door saying she had to meet with someone. It was just as well; as much as the two loved each other, fighting would have certainly taken place if they had been alone for the length of the ride.

Zachary pulled one of his school books out of his page, and flipped through it for something to do. The words meant nothing to him right now, his thoughts racing. Growing up in a wizarding family who had all attended Hogwarts Scotland, he already knew about the four house (though, his parents refused to tell him how sorting worked). He knew that if he got into Ravenclaw, his father would be proud. The question that weighed heavily on his mind was whether he and his twin sister would be sorted into the same house. Their personalities were vastly different, and Zachary couldn't imagine them being in the same house. Yet, he also couldn't imagine life without his twin sister nearby all the time. Sure, they would pass each other in the halls and possibly have a class together, but it wouldn't be the same as when they were living at home.

The mind game quickly came to an end as a another person burst into the compartment, a big grin on his face. Zach jumped back in surprise, not use to so much happiness. The person, who introduced himself as Ian, started talking a mile a minute about something Zachary wasn't quite so about. This was going to be a long ride. Zachary did his best to act like he was paying attention, nodding at the exact right places, and managed to hid his annoyance. How dare this boy interrupt him when he was clearly busy. As the boy talked, Zachary mused about ways to get rid of him.

Daylight faded into nightfall, and soon Zachary found himself and the other first years being lead to what he had been waiting for; Hogwarts. He wondered if this was the same view his parents had when they started, and- with a pang- if this was what his friends were seeing miles away in Scotland.

Somehow, like always, the twins managed to find themselves back together in the Great Hall. At a glance, it would be hard to tell they were indeed related; Jadyn with her brown hair and blue eyes, Zach the exact opposite with blonde hair and brown eyes. Jadyn was also a bit taller then Zach, which made the young boy feel embarrassed at times, but he knew he'd hit a growth spurt one of these days. Looking around the Great Hall, he could see the four separate tables, each of the houses represented. Their parents had refused to give out details about what to expect once they reached the Great Hall, so Zachary was just as amazed as all the other students.

Being towards the middle of the crowd, Zachary had to stand slightly on his toes to see over the heads of some of the other first years as the Headmaster talked. The Great Hall began losing its appeal as the boy became focused on another sight; a hat. He returned to being flat on his feet. A hat was determining his fate in life. Well, that was fairly anticlimactic. He had envisioned something much more exciting; fighting some sort of troll, anything really, that would show off his strengths.

As he waited for his name to be called, Zachary examined everyone around him. He noted the people that seemed extremely nervous, their various body parts quivering with fear; those that seemed excited, huge smiles on their face; and those that seemed sure of themselves, smirking slightly. He didn't feel like he belonged in any of those classifications. He was by no means nervous, nor excited, nor was he overly certain of where he would end up. Part of him hoped for Ravenclaw, maybe to win over some of his father's affection, but he could also see himself elsewhere. Well, it was a good thing that the hat was determining his fate and not him.

The names were being read in alphabetical order, which Zachary would have predicted beforehand. Heaton was a good last name; near the beginning of the alphabet, but not close enough that the twins were one of the first ones to go. Which was a good thing, because if Zachary had been the first one sorted he probably would have jumped in front of everyone when the hat called out the house name.

With little to think about besides his upcoming fate determining experience, the boy began to figure out the hat. Sometimes it called out the name as soon as it touched the person's head, other times it waited a few minutes as though it were thinking. Was it possible the hat was having conversations with the people someone? Mind reading perhaps? Bother; he wished he would have taken the time to research this.

Time pasted quickly as the names of his fellow students were called. Zachary remained calm as he waited, content to observe his surroundings and think about the hat. And then: "Heaton," Zachary focused on the hat, "Jadyn."

Of course, Jadyn would be sorted before him. Zachary knew that logically it made since, J being before Z, but he couldn't help to feel slightly bitter. Jadyn, the first born by two minutes, father's favorite, the responsible one, got to find out her house before him. As usual, Zachary, the troublesome one, the one always getting yelled at, would have to wait for Jadyn first. It was his sulky that caused him to miss the house his twin was sorted into.

"Heaton, Zachary."

The moment of truth. Would he be sorted into the same house as his twin, which would allow the two to remain close, but also mean perhaps always being compared to one another; or would he be sorted into a different house, one that would allow him to achieve his goals. Only the hat would tell.

On the outside, Zachary remained as calm as ever. The boy walked securely up to the stool, not allowing himself to tremble, his face emotionless. He turned to face the Great Hall and the hat slipped over his head. Inside, though, the questions continually turned around about where exactly he belonged in this world. Well, I guess its up to you, he thought to the hat, not expecting it to answer him.

"No guessing involved, boy, it is up to me. Now, you'd do well in Gryffindor, like your sister - but also Ravenclaw, because of your intellect... No, it'll have to be Slytherin - because of your habit of looking out for yourself first. Yes, that's it. SLYTHERIN!"

Vipress walked into the hall, her long brown curls boucing behind her as she walked exitment filled her body she couldn't wait for her turn to be sorted but she would never show it, she tried to avoid meeting people on her first day, she didn't want to get distracted from what was important, and that was being sorted. 'Make a goal and stick to it' she was always told, her current goal, get onto that stool.
Everyone got Sorted, why did she have to have her last name at the end of the alphabet.

"Riverwood, Vipress" she heard the professor call

She waked through the little crowed of First years and sat on the three legged stool eager to find out what house she was going into so she could tell her Mother. people were staring at her but she didn't mind, she was used to the whole attention thing she just didn't want them to be familiar with her face, she didn't really want to meet people she liked to be to herself and that is how she wished it would stay, Mainly apart from being sorted Vipress wanted to go to the lake, she was in desperate need of a swim and the lake was massive she could do alot of swimming here.
The hat was placed on her head and she smiled she wanted to talk to the hat but she was afraid it was going to speak to everyone what she was thinking and then they would know she was willing to be nice, but Vipress stuck to her cold personality and looked at everyone sitting up straight and ready she waited for the hat to announce her house.

"You're quite the odd one. You have a nice side to you, but you mask it with coldness and close yourself off from others. I suppose you'll have to be a SLYTHERIN!"

Her nerves on end, Delaney made her way to the front of the great hall where all of the other unsorted students were standing. She took a deep breath and crossed her fingers that no one would notice the awkward way she stood or the strange way she wore her hair. She had never been to New Zealand and knew very little of the school she was to attend for the next seven years. How would she ever make it through? The chatter quieted as the students began to be sorted.

"Which house are you hoping for," a small boy asked her.

Delaney took a deep breath as she listened for the house that the most recent student had been sorted into.

"Um, Gripe and floor," she guessed, mispronouncing Griffindor to a horrible degree.

The boy snickered and turned away. She knew she had gotten the name wrong, but how was a muggle born to know of these things? She had too much to remember already.
She waited what seemed like forever until she heard, "Foster, Delaney." She breathed in deep and took her first steps to becoming a full-fledged Hogwarts student.

The hat was placed on her head and she instantly felt at home. his was a place where she could be herself and all of her talents wold be honored. The hat fell over her face and all she could think was that she should have put her hair in a pony tail before she got off the train.

"Hmmm.... yes, you're right, Gryffindor might have a future for you, but I can see you going even farther in RAVENCLAW!"

I dawdle into the Great Hall, carrying my new Transfiguration book for good luck. The rest of the students are mumbling around me, but I keep quiet. I hear the first name... not mine. Then I hear the second, and the third, fourth, fifth, and so on, until they get to number 167. "Livi-Loo!" the deputy head calls out. I stumble to my feet, spit out my retainer, and skip (my preferred manner of transport) up the podium. Grinning, I sit on the stool. The deputy-head puts the hat on my head, and I think wonderful thoughts of pretty flowers, jewel encrusted swords, and a Gryffindor Prefect badge...

"GRYFFINDOR!"

Note: Please remember to roleplay in the third person. This means using "He/She" instead of "I" and "his/hers" instead of "my". :)

“Jaden West!” Jaden heard them call her names finally at last after seeing everyone being sorted. Yes she was feeling anxious but she had wanted this to be over so that she can FINALLY know which house she belonged. She stood and scurried away walking towards the sorting hat with a calm look bestowed upon her face. She looked around and had remembered the entire houses that where there. Being the first of her relatives to come to a witch school was all new to her of course. Jaden had briefly chatted with the ones that were familiar with Hogwarts and was able to get bit information on each house.

In realistically she didn’t know which house she really wanted to be in. They all look the same to her, just some kids stood out amongst the rest. Picking up the old hat she would place it upon her head as she sits upon the stool waiting for ‘it’ to decide.

"SLYTHERIN!"
