The Snows' Day

Runa had her fingers crossed that the puffapod would burst on Jean, but as luck would have it, it didn't. She was dirty thanks to this stupid dare, and she didn't think it would be too much to throw a little karma Jean's way. Katrina might have been the ticket to that, had not it been for someone approaching the group. Runa recognized him as the potions Professor, but she had no idea why he was here. "His last name is Snow too. Perhaps they are related?" Or maybe he just really liked to party? Runa continued to rub the dirt off of her body and clothing, when she observed the fact that the two sister's refused to make eye contact with the Professor. Well that was odd. "Do you guys know each other personally or something?" There was a lot of tension in the air. One could almost cut through it with a knife. Runa didn't mean to be nosy, but she just wanted to know why this guy was here. Runa was not about to get detention because of this stupid game.

After all the commotions and finally someone else showing up, Lucien sighed and wanted to just dig into the food already. He looked at the professor that showed that happened to be Theodore Snow, the head of the family. Lucien noticed that his sisters didn't want to make eye contact with him. To Lucien, Theodore was hardly scary compared to the maternal side. Well, some of the members. Those like Azerail and whatnot looked more like puppies. Lucien wondered how his sisters would behave if they were in front of their grandfather. Well, probably the same. Lucien looked at Theodore and raised an eyebrow. Runa asked if they knew each other. "Yeah. Theodore here is our older half brother. Unlike us, though, he had a creature for a mother." Lucien turned back to his older half brother before shrugging his shoulders. "Yeah, it is fun. Don't you have tests or something to grade? Or did you just want to come in and spoil the fun. You really been hanging around Styx for too long."

Theodore rolled his eyes. Creature for a mother or not, he could still kill him. All he had to do was wait until the little brat was out of school, and then he was easy game. "What are you, five?" Truth or dare was a child's game. Turning his attention towards the older brother, he wished he could curse him. "Want to live to see your eighteenth birthday?" His mention of Styx and Theodore hanging out forced the blonde to roll his eyes again. He and the grouchy Professor did get along better, but Lucien should know to be more mindful. Styx took care of the Zhefarovich's, and Theodore took care of the Snows. Both which governed the mouthy Slytherin. Unless he wanted to be six feet under in the next year, he better watch himself. "I actually came to wish you all a happy birthday." Not really, but he at least tried to sound somewhat convincing. As convincing as Theodore could sound when he wasn't telling the truth.

Jean braced himself, waiting for it. He was sure that Katrina was going to be her usual horrible self and give him a terrible dare. It was just her way. But, she never got around to it. Turning as she uttered the name of someone he didn't want to see, Jean spotted his older half -brother, Theodore. They never interacted much. Even in class, Jean went out of his way to avoid interacting with Theodore, not wanting his classmates to catch on how closely they were related and certainly not wanting Theodore to pay too close attention to him and Victoire. They sat apart, but still. No need to risk anything. Jean rolled his eyes at Theodore's comment but remained silent. It was Lucien who spoke up to explain their relationship, and Jean found himself holding back a laugh at how vicious his brother was. It was like watching a quidditch match, listening to the two though Jean scoffed when Theodore stated that he'd come to wish them happy birthday. "Please" he muttered under his breath. He wouldn't say more than that. Jean fell somewhere in the middle, not as afraid of Theodore as his sisters but not as brazen as Lucien.

What a bunch of party poopers. No fun whatsoever. "Okay fine. You caught me, I really don't care. I just came here to ruin your game. I get the hint. I'll leave." He also came to see if he could possibly scout out anything he needed to report to the elders. The others were bound to find out eventually, so whatever he could spot now was only going to benefit them later. Theodore started off to leave, before he turned around and gave the Snow Quads one last glance. "You four have a nice summer. Especially you Jean." Theodore turned to leave and smirked as he did so. As he walked back towards the castle, he hope what he said was slowly beginning to sink into his brother's mind. He wasn't quite sure what his youngest brother was up to, but he had heard rumors through the grapevine that something was going on, and since he chose to keep it a secret, Theodore just had to assume it was something he wasn't supposed to be doing. Or that he was embarrassed about. Theodore had no idea what it was, but Jean didn't know that, and it was always fun to leave people worried and guessing.

Katrina kept quiet. She wanted to say something, she really did. But Theodore could be very vicious and mean. All he had to do was run back to one of the elders, or wait until they got out of school and then they'd be in trouble. The last thing Katrina wanted was for Anastasia, Katarzyna, or Leon to step in. There were los of other elders too. Some so old she wasn't surprised they were dust. But they were all very lethal, and they wouldn't hesitate to kill someone if they thought they were being more a nuisance than needed. Theodore's comment before leaving made Katrina look at Jean curiously. "What is he talking about? Do you have something going on?" Theodore wouldn't have said anything if he didn't know something. How did he know something? Katrina crossed her arms over her chest and looked at her brother. He was keeping secrets, and that made Katrina upset. She hated secrets, and she hated surpises even more.

Lucretia stood up from where she had been sitting. Relieved that Theodore had left. "Drop it Katrina. Whatever it is, he obviously doesn't find it important enough to tell us. I'm all partied out, I'm out of here." There were times when Lucretia thought back to how little time she spent with her siblings, and today's events only confirmed that she did it out of pure annoyance. They drove her nuts. Katrina was a control freak, Lucien was a jerk, and Jean was practically in his own world most of his time. Theodore was a complete bully who cared little about anything other than himself. Grabbing Mason's arm she stomped off the grounds and towards the castle, eager to get five minutes of quiet time and away from the noise and stress being around her siblings brought.

Runa wasn't quite sure why, but the Professor made her uneasy. Not only because she hated potions with a burning passion, but he seemed a bit too cruel to his own siblings for her liking. It made Runa think of her own dysfunctional family. Her cousins often the tendency to bully her because she was adopted, and some of them were quite mean. Enough to the point where Runa was intimidated, and that was hard to pull of. "Well....this was fun. And awkward." Runa moved from place she had been standing awkwardly in the background. "I think I'm going to get out of here." Runa waved and turned towards the castle. It seemed like there was about to be more issues thrown around between the siblings, and Runa was not about to pretend like she was going to be able to deal with that. Plus the sooner she got out of here, the sooner she wouldn't have to deal with Lucien and his ego.

Lucien rolled his eyes at Theodore's threat. He thought with a smug attitude (although he had no idea that it would be easier than he thought), 'Can't do anything unless you get the approval of Kalif or Asparuh or Axel. Good luck getting everyone to agree, half-breed.' Lucien scoffed as Theodore explained himself, and then left. Though what he said next, made Lucien turn to Jean with a raised eyebrow. Did their brother know something that he didn't? And now Runa and Lucretia and her boyfriend were all leaving. He sighed, kind of wishing that things didn't go like this. This was their bloody birthday. Lucien muttered, "Whatever." Lucien combed his fingers through his hair before saying, "Jean doesn't have enough time to do anything he isn't supposed to. He has his prefect duties and trying to kiss Kingsley's ass before she suspends her Gryffindors. Again."

Theodore's words would have sent a blush onto Jean's cheeks if he was the blushing type. In fact, he did have plans for his summer. Plans he definitely didn't want to share with any of his siblings, especially not his older brother. His life, especially that aspect of his life, was no one's business. But, his brother's words had done their damage. Katrina immediately turned on him. Lucretia was annoyed. "Noooo, Katrina" he sighed, turning to his brother in the hopes that his words were to his defense. They were, but they didn't help Jean feel better. He muttered an expletive at his brother as he shouldered his way past to leave. Leave it to Theodore to ruin all the fun. As usual.
