The Search for a new MoM begins!

Having been in charge for nearly a decade, Victoire Fontaine's time as Minister of Magic is nearing its end. With that in mind, it's time to see who will step up, ready, willing, and capable of leading NZ's wizarding community for another (IC) decade.

What will this plot include?
A search for candidates! :frantics:
Debates! Campaigns! Scandals?! Oh my. :frantics:
Daily Prophet Coverage! :frantics:
An election leading to...a new Minister! :frantics: :frantics:

Site wide plots offer many opportunities for you to get your character(s) involved, both actively and passively - from reading the articles written, discussing among friends, and commenting on the ongoing events to attending a campaign event to back or jeer a candidate to running as a candidate or joining a campaign to aid your preferred candidate to so much more! The opportunities are there and we hope you all take advantage! ^_^

More information and plots will be unveiled in the main line of this plot (and added to the calendar and announced in BWUs and elsewhere) as time passes. However, we would like to note that while the app is opening today it will close ahead of the holidays, and the official plot will not begin until OOC January. The plot will last until May which is when the new MoM takes office.

Please read the following carefully if you are interested in roleplaying a candidate as the application is now open! Click here to begin the application!

Some things to keep in mind when filling out the application are that:
- Candidates must be at least over the age of majority (17 years of age) to run. However, older is recommended. Students cannot be candidates.
- Candidates must be law-abiding citizens in New Zealand's wizarding society. (You can apply if not, and may even be accepted, but you will likely eventually be discovered by aurors.)
- Several candidates will be approved. If you apply, you should be devoted to having your character be an active participant through the entire process. You may apply with more than one character; however, only one character per RPer, at most, will be chosen.
- Having a political background of some kind is encouraged for any characters who apply.
- Any RPers interested in having their character run are welcome and encouraged to apply. :)

We don't have a particular number of candidates in mind.

It's not the admin selecting who ends up being minister in the end. It's characters controlled by members who will be doing the voting. The site wide plot will be what the site makes of it; it should be great fun if people participate in all aspects of the plot.

Additionally, we are looking for several journalist characters to aid with an article or two - one about the candidates, for sure - and moderating debates. If you have a character who might be interested, please send a PM to both Emzies and me using a title that includes the words 'MoM' or 'Campaign' for ease of review. Here is a small form to complete:

Name of character:
Job/Position:
What would you like to help with: Article writing or Debate Moderating
What makes your character suited for what you chose above:
Anything else we should know?

We look forward to reviewing your applications and PMs! Any questions/concerns can be posted here or PMed to both Emzies and me.

To run an active and successful plot, we need a minimum of 4–5 candidates. Unfortunately, we did not receive enough applications to meet that, so this plot will be placed on hold.

We sincerely thank the RPers who applied and shared their interest. The current Minister will complete their term and then return to their regular group. A new announcement will be made when we re-open the application.
