The Grand Salle of Beauxbatons had been set up to hold the Goblet of Fire Ceremony for the year's coming TriWizard Tournament. The Goblet of Fire was at the front of the hall, the focal point of the whole ordeal, its blue fires coming out from it, ready to consume all names presented to it before making its decision on who from each school would represent their academy and their magical training to the rest of the world. Amable was determined for Beauxbatons to not only win the competition, but excel in its hosting, treating each guest with the utmost respect and hospitality as one should always expect from French of such class. The competing schools, Durmstrang and Hogwarts New Zealand, were set to arrive within the day and as soon as they did the Goblet of Fire Ceremony would commence.
Amable Didier strolled in to the Grande Salle at Beauxbatons Academy for Magic, his flowing, deep blue, robes billowing behind him as he walked with great pomp toward the front of the hall. Beauxbatons students were already gathered, each in school uniform and quite attentive to Amable's movement amongst them toward the front of the room. Amable, upon reaching the front of the room, stood to the right of the Goblet of Fire and smiled jovially. "Bienvenue, une fois de plus, à l'Académie Beauxbâtons pour la magie." Came Amable's voice over the crowd as he stepped away from the Goblet, which was on floor level, up toward the podium set on the stage. "Il est de notre grand honneur d'accueillir le Tournoi des Trois Sorciers cette année. Nos invités sont arrivés, et pour eux que je parle anglais. Pendant qu'ils sont ici, je m'attends à le meilleur comportement de tous les élèves." After a short pause Amable raised his wand to the air and gave it a grand flourish, "Nos invités!" At this, the doors to the Grande Salle burst open and two dispatches of people came through the doors. One led by the Durmstrang Headmistress, Evie Powell, and one led by New Zealand's Minister for Magic, Gellert Coote. The chosen attendees from each school followed behind their leaders and came toward the front of the hall, each settling in the first row of benches immediately closest to the Goblet of Fire.
Amable smiled kindly toward each guest who took a seat in the front row before looking back toward the crowd, "Greetings, our honoured guests." he began, his accent being heavy but with no other evidence that English was not, indeed, his first language. "This Tournament is a tradition of Europe, and now of Oceania, that we at Beauxbâtons are quite pleased to be able to host this year. It is dangerous. It is deadly, in some cases. But in all, it brings great honour to those who have the courage to put their names in this Goblet, even greater honour to those who are chosen to represent their respective academy, and the greatest honour to those who overcome the challenges prepared by the magical world for them and come out atop the best of the best." Walking toward the Goblet of Fire once more, Amable drew his wand and made a circle on the ground around the goblet, muttering a few words to himself as he did so. The circle glowed a moment, then faded. "An age line." Professor Didier began firmly, "Only those who are now seventeen years of age may enter this competition, and any who attempt to do otherwise will receive punishment from this academy." Amable, at this, sent a cold stare to a group of fifth years he had heard rumours about them trying to have their names submitted by older pupils, or trying to cheat the age line. "Once all names are submitted, the Goblet of Fire will give to me the names of the individuals who are to take part in this tournament. Your clue for the first task will then be supplied, and this assembly will be dispersed. It is my honour to give the opportunity of submitting names first to our guests."
With a grand motion toward the Goblet, Amable Didier humbly withdrew from its vicinity allowing Hogwarts New Zealand and Durmstrang attendees to place their names in the Goblet of Fire first. Then, an assemblage from Beauxbâtons came forward and placed their own names in. Amable watched from his seat in the hall as this occurred, wondering how this Goblet would decide which of his pupils would best represent their school.
OOC: You may roleplay attendance at the ceremony. You may also roleplay placing your character's name in the Goblet if your character is 17 or older. Once all guests from foreign schools have placed their names in the Goblet as well as the Beauxatons champion, Amable will post again with the closing portion of the ceremony.
