Today would mark the first day in the castle for Preston. Last night had been quite a whirlwind with arriving to the castle, being sorted and getting a tour of the school. By the time the boy had entered the common room he would call home for seven years, if he stayed, Preston had been ready to drop. Instead, he had stayed up for a bit meeting his dorm mates. He had the feeling he was going to get along splendidly with Sergei because he reminded him a lot of his best friend from Ellerton. The other guy, Dionne or something similiar, had been pretty alright as well. It was a relief to the boy because meeting new people was often the most difficult part of starting at a new school. The best part of this school was that everyone in his year was new. They'd all come from different areas of the world, it seemed, all because they were magical.

When he had woken up this morning, Preston had hastily slipped on his uniform. It was a lot different from his old one. Luckily, the boy knew how to tie a tie and he made quick work of it all. He couldn't bring himself to put his robe on yet. At least without it, he could pretend this was a normal boarding school. Once he put the robe on, it would cease to be that. He was still conflicted about his opinion regarding magic. It intrigued him, no doubt, but it was also a bit shocking to see people walking around with wands and performing bits of magic. He slipped his wand into his bag and headed out of his room and common room. Taking a seat at the table that he had sat in the night before, Preston was surprised to see the foods were similar to what he had at his other school. With a grin, the boy sat at the table and pulled over a plate of scrambled eggs. Within seconds, he had a plate of eggs, bacon and toast. He also poured himself some orange juice. Picking up his fork, the boy began to happily eat.

The first day at Hogwarts New Zealand. What an interesting thought. Though she had not unpacked her uniform yet and seeing as classes had not started she saw no reason to wear her uniform anyway. twisting her hair into a bun and choosing to wear clothes that she wasn't allowed to at home, Hayley made her way into the common room. As she thought there was no one in here that she either knew, or that interested her in talking to. It was rather a little early, so perhaps Abel would not be up yet? Oh well, that was no reason why she should not go up to the Great Hall to eat breakfast. So that was what she did. There was really no reason as to why she would have wait for Abel to come with her anyway. So heading out of the Common room and up the stairs, Hayley turned the corner into the the Entrance Hall and then finally into the Great Hall. Immediately she headed to the Slytherin table, which of course was the furthest away from where she stood. Because that was the way she liked it. She sat on the bench next to a boy who appeared to be sort of stuffing his face with eggs and other dairy foods. Yuck!

Staring at him slightly as he seemingly ate every thing, Hayley had to hold back her urge to head to the bathroom. How anyone could eat dairy was beyond her. She passed over the eggs and toast and instead picked herself a bunch of grapes, a banana and some strawberries, placing them on her plate. Then she looked over at the Slytherin boy next to her and shook her head. How could he do it? Did they make him sick?

"Uh. I'm guessing you like... that stuff. Yes?" She asked biting her lip in terror at his meal choice.

Preston hadn't really been paying too much attention to who was around him. When he had first taken a seat, the Slytherin table had been fairly empty. There had been students of course but they nearly all looked older than him. The boy had been far too hungry anyway to carry on much of a conversation. After a few bites, the young boy felt more normal and he had to hand it to the school chefs. Those witches or wizards cooked amazingly. Taking a sip of Orange juice, Preston wondered if it was freshly squeezed. It sure tasted that way. It was while he was taking a sip of the pulpy juice that he took notice of what was being said to him. Preston finished his juice, his brown eyes swinging to the girl.

Putting the glass down on the table, Preston reached for his toast and took an obnoxiously large bite. "Yup. It tastes great" he stated as he chewed. He had the feeling she was asking out of either disgust or fascination or both because her plate was completely different. It was filled with fruits, a food that Preston didn't mind. If he had options though, fruit would never top the list except for oranges. He loved oranges. "Do you like that stuff?" he asked, waving his toast towards her fruit filled plate before he took another, more normal sized bite.
