<SIZE size="50">If ever there was a night, where being a prefect sucked it was halloween. Lily had no interests in the day itself. She didn't like the candy that was given out, she didn't like the fact you had to be a scary, or funny thing. In fact, the entire day was hated by every bone in the teenagers body. Lily Fossil had once been the type to actually like a day like Halloween. Back when she had still been going by Livia. That had been an odd time. It wasn't like it had been a short decision to change back to just being Lily, in all respects, but there had come a time in the Slytherin's existance at school where she ahd realised that being Livia was no serving her well. She was Lily Fossil, and a proud Fossil at that. A dancer first, a witch second and a b!tch third. The girl had never taken much time to look into making long term friends, that and she drove most people away. Her need to be better than them, and the words that sprung easily to her lips had long sent people running. Even though in the grand scheme of things Lily was not exactly a terrible person. She just couldn't hold back. And this was why, she had been most surprised at her title of prefect. After all, Lily had never once been the perfect student. Although clearly the fifth years were worse than she was, since it appeared the it had been two sixth year slytherins that had been appointed prefects. Which also surprised the now Slytherin prefect. However this new title, brought Lily a whole lot of issues that she had never once thought she would have to deal with. Like attending the Halloween feast, something she had long stopped doing. Having spent very little time preparing for the day, Lily had been faced with a problem upon trying to figure out what to be. She had stood in front of her wardrobe and thought about what she could possibly be. After much thinking, and annoyance at how silly this was, the Slytherin decided on a red dress. And her costume of being the devil. Sometime she thought would be more than a little appropriate considering her usual ways. The dress itself was one she had planned to wear for the Yuleball, but had in the end decided that it was not the right dress for that event. The main part of the dress, was strapless and had a bodice design in red. As the dress travel to her waist, the dress fitted perfectly around it. Bringing it in and making her waist appear smaller than it was. The edge of the skirt was short in nature, it stopped a little below her bottom. However, this was not the only part of the dress, since from the middle area of her dress, the was a longer skirt, almost like a cloak, it was red, and floaty in nature. And as she walked it trailed upon the floor. The dress was quite something. Adding to her outfit, Lily added a pair of black heels with a bow on the side of each shoe. If Lily was completely honest as she stood in front of the mirror in her dorm room she was impressed. The shoes made her legs look longer than they already were, and the dress brought in her waist and made her look skinny. How she liked it. Letting her hair down in long wavy strands made it look fuller, and it looked better when she then added the devil horns. All in all it was a good costume.
After spending a minimal amount of time in the Great Hall, Lily Fossil decided that enough was enough. She didn't want to have to spend another minute with any of the people in that room. The costumes she'd seen were silly, they'd been generic, and no one had really looked that nice. She thought she'd looked pretty good in comparison. However, she didn't enter the contest and had clapped politely with the outcome. As a prefect would do. Now that she was really no longer needed in the feast, Lily had gotten up from the Slytherin table and left the room. She'd walked in her usual fashion, ignoring all those around her, and holding her head up to show she was better than the losers that surrounded her. "Prefects are nice She reminded herself mentally. She could not appear to them as mean as she was in her head. Which was difficult, and she'd really been tested At the feast. Now she knew that she could manage an evening without wanting to call someone a stupid cow, or tell them how horrible they looked. She could do it mentally, and yet smile and pretend that everything was okay, and that she did not hate the person. Her hazel brown eyes surveyed the corridor for the dungeons and then her mind decided that she would not head straight back to that place. Instead she took one look at the grand staircase and headed upwards. Not, that far up, in her mind she was heading the the prefects common room. It was a good quiet place where she could avoid most of the school. And it was definitely on such a night like this going to be quiet. But, as she walked the first floor corridor, her feet took her somewhere else. Pulling the horns from her hair, as the soft tapping of her heeled shoes upon the ground, she noticed the door which lead to a classroom. As much as Lily hated school and work, this classroom was a pretty great place. It was quiet almost all of the time, and it was the perfect place for her to be when she wanted to do some magic practicing without the preying eyes of anyone. However as with anything in Hogwarts no person was really ever that alone in any place, it was only a matter of time before someone joined them. And Lily knew this would happen if she went into the room. However even with this thought upon her mind, the Slytherin, still reached out opened the door and stepped inside the dark room. Lily who had not taken her wand with her to the Feast was actually regreting that decision. The room was dark and she wasn't sure how to make it light. Walking the other end, Lily managed to open the blinds, and the moonlight of the spring night shone into the room. The prefect had a satisfied smile on her face as she kept her eyes out the window. The moonlight was streaming in. Giving her tanned skin an odd glow. It was as she stood looking out the window, that she heard the door handle turn. It was at this point again where she wished she'd brought her wand with her. But while inwardly cursing her stupidity, her hazel eyes stuck to the door, and did not look away. She would wait to see who it was, and then decide what she would do about it.
