Ten was excited for the very first proper Brew Crew session that they could actually get some brewing done. Throughout the year, there had been a few other meetings, but they'd mostly been theoretical. They'd been working with the plants, the ingredients, learning how to recognise the things they needed to use for their potions and the best techniques that would make their potions as powerful as possible. Today however, they'd be bringing all their knowledge together and actually creating a potion of their choice.

"Alright everyone," Ten's inability to whisper came in handy when she needed to get her voice heard. She barely had to raise it feel as though she was booming across the dungeon. "As you should probably all know by now, today is the we going to be brewing our first potion as a group," she was looking forward to it, but she couldn't say she wasn't nervous too. On the one hand, the class years didn't mix so it would be fun to see give everyone a chance to mingle outside of their lesson requirements, but having this many students in the room at once, well, a lot could go wrong.

"You've all been assigned a table for your year group. Cassie, feel free to move to one of the others," she noted toward the fourth year who would have otherwise been on her own. Apparently there had been a lack of sign ups from the fourth years. "You can pick any potion you want to brew, from your year or below." She didn't want to see any of the second years trying to make Veritaserum for instance, but as though as they were brewing something they'd already done in one of their previous classes, whether it was this year or one below, they more or less were free to practice as they pleased. "You don't have to stay at your work bench, but you'll probably find it easier to work with kids you're used to," Ten shrugged.

The redhead moved over to the table for the first years, who quite obviously wouldn't have brewed anything yet given that up until this point their entire Hogwarts curriculum involved theory. "You lot have a bit of a choice," she told them, "Either go and watch what the older kids are doing, ask them some questions, we have Brewmasters for a reason after all," those who were happy to help others had been given the distinguished title. "Or, you can do one of these," Ten had tried her best not to make the first years feel like children but as she handed out copies of a workbook she'd put together, that included various puzzles, word searches, colouring pages and quizzes about the different types of ingredients, she couldn't help but doubt herself. She knew it wasn't her fault they couldn't brew anything yet, but she still felt like that bad guy.

"This might be a club," Ten's voice grew louder again, incase those that were already chatting amongst themselves were now too busy to listen to her, "but we're still working with things that could potentially explode or.. I dunno, ruin your day if nothing else. If anyone has an accident or is in trouble, you need to come and grab me or @Josephine Arora if it's a medical issue," The prefect nodded her head toward the school nurse that had agreed to join them for the duration of the session, just in case any student did themselves a nasty.

Rose had joined the Brew Crew because she wanted to be good at Potions. Nothing at all to do with the boy she-no-longer-liked being in it at all. She was waiting patiently at the first year's table, feeling like she was on the child's table of a wedding party, and wondering whether it would be acceptable to leave this place and watch what Lilith was doing over her shoulder. The older girl had always been very nice to her, and if it was also a way for her to have a better idea of what she'd be doing next year, and a way for her to not need to hang around the stupid boys in her own year, it was worth it. "I'm going to see Lilith," she'd whispered to Gaia, hoping her best friend would understand without her needing to fill in the gaps. Slipping off her chair, the blonde made her way across the room to the third years table, peering between Lilith's shoulder and that of the boy's who sat beside her. "Can I watch?"

Lilith had liked The brew Crew so far, she'd really liked Potions all together so it was fun to do a club focused on everything that included it. Lilith sat beside Eoghan, listening to everything Amortentia was saying an explaining. She thought the Prefect had done a good job pulling all of this together. As they were given the go ahead to start working on their potions Lilith was stuck for a bit wondering which one to go for when she heard a familiar voice from behind her.

Turning to one of the first years the Ravenclaw gave her a soft smile and a nod, knowing exactly what she'd be doing. "Of course. How about this, you help me get these ingredients and then I show you how to brew the Forgetfulness Potion, it's one of the ones you'll be doing next year." She suggested pulling up the ingredients in her book and then writing a short list of the ones she thought would be easiest for the first year to find and recognize. She'd check them before doing anything, just in case. Lilith gave the neatly written list of two ingredients to Rose.

Gaia gave a silent nod to Rose, almost following after the girl only she'd rather watch her sister. Just in case Nia was going to do something stupid, though she doubted given the adoring stare she had towards the club leader. It was kind of the look the Gryffindor had always given their mum so if anything she was going to try her best to impress her. "Hey, what are you gonna do?" She asked her sister once she reached the brunette.

Mania thought Ten was brilliant for pulling all this together, it was such a smart idea especially given she doubted she was the only one struggling with the subject at times. The whole time the redhead was talking Nia listened carefully, her lips pursed in a thin line as she thought what she wanted to do. She'd already been caught trying to collect ingredients for a potion above her level, she wasn't going to attempt that again. Hearing her sister's voice next to her moments after they were allowed to start a huge grin appeared on her face. "Gai!" She exclaimed leaving the last bit of the nickname out just to save her sisters dignity. Throwing her arms around the Slytherins shoulders she gave a shrug. "I was thinking the Boil Cure Potion?" She suggested, receiving a nod. Perfect. She was eager to redeem herself from the mess she'd made in the actual class they brewed this, yikies.

After getting the ingredients, making sure they were the right ones, Nia returned to her place and began the process of the potion. It was odd having Gaia watch her every move, she wasn't sure if the first year was trying to make sure she didn't mess up or take notes for next year herself. Whatever it was, Nia was just glad she seemed to be doing everything right. Every now and then between the process when she thought he wasn't looking Nia sent a glare towards Felix, just because.
