The Art of Causing Trouble

Ryans attention was immediately turned to the front as he heard his leader begin to speak. As Ryan had the most respect for the man he didnt speak. He would have to speak to Leah once this had finished. A flash of confusion crossed his face but only for a split second. The news about the ministry must have passed him by. However he knew that the leader may have something in mind about the whole thing or what would be the point in this meeting. Ryan listened again and took in every word. Ideas popped in and out of his head as he was told about what the ministry was going to. Ran looked to hi side about to say something but quickly thought twice and looked to the front again. He bit his lip as the leader asked a question. Ryan wasnt sure if he could say anything, only be a training death eater. "I think we should sink our teeth in to the ministry and rip it apart. Sir. Those filthy mudbloods have no idea what they are talking about." He said adding the last part to show respect. Training or not he was part of this group and he would make his thoughts known.

Beads of sweat were dripping down Aphrodite's face from the head. She had taken her mask off, but kept her dark hood up, and her head down. She was listening to every single word that was coming out their leaders' mouth. Yes, it was in the Spanish wizarding newspaper that Gellert Coote had stepped down as minister, and she agreed that this was the best opportunity they would have for a while. She heard a few of the mumbles coming from her fellow Death Eaters, and listened as an unfamiliar voice, probably a trainee, spoke up about what they should do. Aphrodite racked her brain for ideas. They had Hogwarts New Zealand under watch, and that was an easy position to gain, but anyone would agree with her that it wouldn't be that easy to get into the Ministry at such a high position. A small thought struck her, and she paused while she formed her words, then spoke in her velvety voice, "No doubt we should pounce at this opportunity, though it won't be an easy thing to do. I'm sure there will be background checks, references and they'll probably even check the wand history of every single wizard who even thinks of running." Aphrodite took a small pause, to let that settle in with the group, then finally concluded, "If we are foolish, let one of us run. Otherwise, I think we need to look at all of our options of getting on the inside."

Having his mouth shut up after greeting his fellow death eaters, Selwin looked towards the leader of the death eaters, who stood up from his stool and began to talk. The leader started of stating that the current or ex minister of magic had resigned from his post, and from here on, the people of New Zealand would be choosing the next Minister. Having the leader said that, Selwin already thought of having someone from the DE's group run for the Minister's position or come up with some other idea. As the leader continued, he stated that the death eaters should rise up and show New Zealand what they are made of. Selwin knew that this may be a risky plan for the death eaters, but in order to cause damage, risk must be taken. As soon as the leader was done, he went to sit back down and asked for opinions.

Selwin adjusting his position, he rose his head a little more and said, "This is an opportunity for the death eater's name to get out there. Plunging fear into those fools will be rather full of enjoyment and at the same time, us taking control." Selwin took a pause and noticed many people looking at him. He had the habit of speaking his mind and he would let no one stop him. "Though there might be risk in this plan of ours, but a plan is nothing without risks. Perhaps one of us can run, or maybe we can come up with another plan to make sure of our success?" said Selwin in a deep dark tone. "Time to put those fools in their place." said Selwin as he seated back after finishing his last sentence. Knowing that he was only a death eater in training and that his ideas or his input may not matter, but to satisfy himself, he had to get out there.

Smirking slightly at the other training death eaters, Abathyn intended fully to be one step higher. She was entirely prepared to be better than them all; a thought that shocked her yet excited her to no ends. The brunette listened closely to every word spoken by their leader, but remained quiet. She did not want to speak out of place. But upon two comments- one of which by a trainee- Abathyn gave a wider smirk. To over-ride the ministry, to sabotage and infiltrate. Abathyn waited with bated breath to hear from everyone else.

Abathyn gave the ideas some thought. She particularly liked the idea of getting inside the ministry, but she knew she could not afford to assist. Already Abathyn was in hiding after killing Jaimee's father, she couldn't take the risk.

Ioan made no move as the leader of the death eaters rose from his stool to begin speaking, but he did give the man his full attention. It was too hot to do much but listen anyway. He had heard the news about Gellert Coote's resignation, from his sister in fact, who worked in the Ministry. She had been at the meeting when he had announced it, and later, Ioan had read the daily prophet's account of the meeting. His sister had been dumbfounded to hear that the Ministry was going to allow a vote to take place to decide the new minister, and his opinion was very much the same though he was more angry than dumbfounded that the Ministry of Magic was going to . Looking around, Ioan hoped that his fellow death eaters also had heard the news. It would be sad to discover that they didn't keep track of the ministry's actions, especially something as important as this.

A smirk crept over his face as he listened to what the head said. It was a brilliant idea in his opinion and he looked around to see who would offer a suggestion first. It didn't surprise him that it was one of the trainees who spoke first. The guy sounded like one anyway. He was enthusiastic no doubt, but didn't necessarily offer a plan of action. The next speaker, a woman, seemed to be thinking more logically and Ioan found himself nodding as she spoke. As she sat and another rose, Ioan tapped his foot on the ground. Our name is already out there, he thought with an eyeroll as he continued to listen. When the guy sat down, he stood up almost lazily and spoke. "It goes back to what she said though. If one of us runs, we risk detection. The Ministry will not simply allow anyone to run and I've heard that the Aurors are going to personally be involved in the background checks." He'd heard that from his sister and knew that she was a reliable source of information. "We'd need someone who hasn't done anything that would raise too much suspicion" Ioan finished and sat back down. He placed his arm back on the back of the chair beside him and waited to see who else would speak up.

Acelin sat and listened as everyone began discussing the options that laid before them, they were all so 'Grrrr' about everything. It kinda made his head hurt as he listened to the problems with one of them running, finally he decided that he should speak "It sounds to me that what we need is a distraction for the Auror's if there's a big enough distraction for them then all of the good ones will be dealing with that and then we'll have a better chance at sneaking one of our own in" Acelin said as he thought about it more "just to be on the safe side we should also just bewitch one of the other runners that way then we have two ponies in the race" Acelin said with a smirk, he wasn't really known for his ideas but even he had to pat himself on the back with this one. Though there was a problem with the plan since they would definitely need a large enough distraction to ensure that all of the top Auror's were distracted long enough. Acelin thought about it, it was definitely a problem with his plan and if he was going to have his moment in the spotlight he would need to continue with something good.

"I know, we could contact our old pals the Dementor's we know they'll be up for a good time sucking out a few souls and if they are caught then it's the better for us since the Ministry will be forced to handle the Azkaban issue again" Acelin said with glee, he was on a roll today! "We should also try and see if we can find that French Bomber, Dante" Acelin said as he continued his thought out loud "she may be a bit unstable but we'll be sure to get a bang for our buck, plus if she's spotted than the Ministry will have to turn all eyes towards her" Acelin said as he sat back and enjoyed his moment. Both options were good because no matter what the Death Eaters would be able to show the wizarding world that they still got some Jazz left in em but they were all safe from being caught and would be able to get one of their own in the Election. Once that is done they would be able to curse one of the other contenders, perhaps even the other one so that no matter what a Death Eater would end up running the Ministry. It all seemed like a brilliant plan to him though he knew one of these glory hog's around him would want to try and shut his idea down.

By the time a third or second Death Eater had spoken Danielle had heard enough and decided that maybe she should say something before the others threw themselves into the pit. They were not bad ideas but they kids just weren't weighing all the options or decisions evenly here like they probably should have been because of course there was probably just going to be more than just Aurors there. "Keep in mind that it won't be just Aurors there, chances are everyone will be there and that includes traitors and people who easily know who some of us are." Danielle added in coldly, her beautiful face turned to glance at some of the Death Eaters who had spoken earlier. As one of the few remaining Death Eaters alive she knew what she was saying and could only hope the other fools would take this into account. Some of these people were known and the more of the big deal they made this the easier they would get caught. Why rush in when you could easily attack from a safer distance and still remain hidden and without risk of getting caught.

"Like Acelin said about bewitching someone..that could work. But what we need is a Guinea pig, we should try to find someone who isn't a Death Eater and somehow get them to run... Someone we can control. Or something like that." The blonde shrugged her shoulders gracefully as she let out a small sort of suggestion, it was vague and it wasn't very big or helpful with the randomness but she was hoping that maybe someone saw it as a way to work. Controlling someone who was running or such would be much better than just running in and having one of them run themselves, they could get caught so easily if they were to just run themselves.

Asparuh listened to Julian speak, and then the others throw their ideas out there. To be rather blunt, Asparuh thought that a Death Eater in the Ministry running themselves would be plain suicide for the person. Though he could care less about whoever would be running, but it would cause a brilliant opportunity to fly from their hands. Asparuh took note in what this other Death Eater said, about bewitching someone, and that came into his mind brilliantly. He would have done it himself, but he was never in New Zealand unless it was for personal business. His home country was Bulgaria, and there he would stay. He stood up, his tall form perhaps the tallest in the room. He pointed out with a low, icy voice, "Someone running in the election would be plain idiocy because the Ministry of New Zealand would be on their toes because the Death Eaters have attacked one of their own recently. The Aurors would crush the Death Eater stupid enough to run, and the opportunity would cease."

His cold eyes went to the others sitting behind him, and as one of the original, if not the oldest in this room, he would be wise enough to think things through. Though he is not as active in the group anymore, but merely around for guidance and the occasional kill and mission. He continued, "On the contrary, someone running that would be a weak candidate with a clear background under the Imperius Curse would suffice beautifully. However, this would have to be planned out thoroughly. A risky task, controlling someone during the entire election. One person may do the deed, but there would need to be guards around said person." Asparuh glanced over at the man, Acelin of what his wife had said, as it was his idea to bewitch someone. "We have a choice to wait for the weak candidate to appear, or if someone knows someone with a clear background and a weak mind that could not fight against the bewitching, then by all means. However, I advise we wait to see who the candidates are first before we take hold of one." Asparuh glanced down at his wife for a moment, before he glanced over at the leader, and finally, taking his seat once more. Asparuh had never been into politics until now.

Pleased with the enthusiasm of his comrades, Julian leaned in. He listened silently as they offered their ideas and suggestions. Some courses of action were negotiable, and others were off-center; either way, the leader of the Death Eaters considered them. His intention was not to ignore or condemn, but he decided not to address anyone individually. Julian would continue to speak to them as a group. Their efforts were for many, not just one.

His voice wafted from his cowl, spreading through the theatre once more as the quiet permitted him to speak. "I do not believe placing one of our own among the candidates will be in our best interests," he explained, "As many of you have mentioned, there will be extensive background checks. I am certain the privacy and history of the candidates will be so invaded that it would become public knowledge if they pissed their pants in first year Herbology class."

"I quite like the idea of placing someone under our influence." The candles bobbed slowly above the group, shadows dancing about the all but abandoned stage. Julian allowed the lighting its moment before he continued. "If we have control of a candidate that has no skeletons decorating his or her closet, the Death Eaters would be at quite an advantage. Let the Imperius Curse decide this competition."

Julian continued to sit as he looked over the group, a masked smile present in his laugh. "Who would like to be our puppeteer?"

Hearing others speak of their opinion, it was refreshing to Selwin that there were many others who shared the same ideologies as him, or rather the other way around. Though it was true, there were many people that followed Selwin in some ways, but him being new to the DE organization, he thought of himself following others, nor the other way around. Selwin was glad to have had an opinion set in place by him. He liked to get his own opinion out there, and wouldn't let anyone stop him, even if the person is more powerful than he is, he wouldn't care. Instead of keeping things bottled up inside like a little sissy, he spoke his mind and didn't let anyone tell him different.

As soon as the last person spoke, Selwin saw the leader stand up and the theater was quite once again so that he can speak. It was good to hear from the leader that he didn't want one of our own guys to be in the plot, however, him agreeing with the plot to control someone else's mind tweaked Selwin's interest. Selwin did make a suggestion towards perhaps controlling someone's mind would suite this plot better than having one of our own in there like many other death eaters, and end up getting themselves thrown in Azkaban, or even killed be the Auror's. It was true that there would be extensive amount of background research that would be done of the candidate. As soon as the leader said 'Who would like to be our puppeteer?', it was a little confusing for Selwin to understand what the leader was actually trying to Imply here. Did he want one of our guys to go into the Ministry and then control the mind of our person? Selwin thought that the leader agreed upon not letting any of our people to be part of the election, but to control a mind that is not part of this organization. Selwin looked around to see if someone was going to say something and after a few moments, he heard no one speak, and then he decided to speak, "I don't mean to be rude sir, but who would like to be our puppeteer? I thought we agreed on not letting any of our people into the Ministry." Selwin took a small pause and a deep breath, then continued, "I would suggest that perhaps we can capture someone from the ministry who may want to run for the elections and have them run? In all truth, we would be controlling the mind of the individual. We need someone who has close ties with the Ministry, but is also an easy target to capture into out grip." Selwin suggested out of the better interest for death eaters. "That is all." said Selwin as he sat back.

Nicolette listened to the suggestions coming from the Death Eaters and suddenly grew a little lost about what they were aiming for now. She shot Kalif a look that clearly showed that she was both confused and annoyed by all of this, but when Danielle and Asparuh both spoke she got a little bit better of an idea of what was going on. The Death Eaters wanted to invade in this whole Ministry thing, but it was would be far to risky if they ran in themselves. And since Nicolette had already been to Azkaban a few times herself she was not willing to risk her family or her own safety to go out there and fix problems that some idiot caused. When the leader of the Death Eaters spoke it became clear that their objective was most likely going to be to influence someone to run for them, question was who was going to be bold enough to to actually go out there and be the one pulling the stings. Nicolette was about to speak when some younger Death Eater spoke up first, what he said thought made Nicolette roll her eyes just slightly as he seemed to be one of those younger ones who didn't listen closely enough. "If you had paid attention closely, he never said we were going to be going be putting of us in the ministry. We never said to had to be someone from the Ministry. It could easily be someone who has never worked for those people a day in their life, we need to be careful about who we choose, it would just likely have to be someone who's running regardless of whether they are from the Ministry or not. " She stated pointing out that they didn't have to go for someone who worked in the Ministry, they never said that the person running had to be from the ministry. Once Nicolette finished that she started once again with something else that she thought may have been useful.

"For whoever does plan to be the puppeteer, I suggest that the person isn't afraid of being caught because there's at least a chance that the person could get caught. Also, kidnapping seems risky to me. Nicolette stated once again, they could control someone from the Ministry all they wanted but it seemed to her that someone would notice easily if the person they controlled was acting a bit differently or something. Plus the person doing all of this would either have to be really brave, or an idiot.

As soon as Selwin sat down, he heard a lady's voice speaking about. She targeted directly towards Selwin, which to Selwin seemed like a challenge for a debate. Selwin wasn't annoyed or anything, he always accepted challenges and would always try his best to win them. Sometimes, if he was debating someone that was older than him and they were losing, Selwin would lose on purpose out of respect for the person. As soon as the girl stopped talking, Selwin coughed one time, looked towards the lady that targeted him and said, "I understood clearly, I don't need an explanation." Selwin liked to give challenges to his opponents, especially his fellow workers, but stay to a limit of course since a lot of the people were older than him and he had to show respect, not only to the leader, but to the elders of the organization as well.

"It was a SUGGESTION that we take someone from the ministry and there is a reason behind it." Selwin took a small pause looking around the room, then continued, "Do you think someone who has never seen the ministry has a chance to win against those who are somewhat known or well known to the people of New Zealand? I don't think so." It was true that the death eaters could bring in a random person to run, but to Selwin's knowledge, it would not bring any success to the death eaters organizations as a whole. "Someone who is well known in the Ministry OR someone who has little reputation in the Ministry can be part of the plot. Having someone who is weak in the Ministry, but is a person who is somewhat known to the people of new zealand and the Ministry would help us climb the ladder much easier." said Selwin. "However, I do agree with you that kidnapping someone would be a major risk and is not required, but this whole plan of ours is a risk, so adding a little more risk doesn't hurt, now does it? And as for picking someone who isn't afraid of being caught, I agree with that. Thank you." said Selwin as he took a breather. Selwin would never fall down from a challenge without actually giving some competition to his opponents.

Whether or not certain individuals denied it, there had obviously been a misunderstanding. Julian had just gotten a bit too creative with his words, it seemed. "I don't fancy myself to be a walking dictionary," he started, "but a short definition of puppeteer would be he or she who manipulates the puppets. The puppeteer, in other words, is the gifted individual who will be in charge of using the Imperius curse on his or her puppet, our prized candidate." He looked to Mrs. Styx and Mr. Snape respectively, observing the quarreling pair. Errors in communication were a part of life. Julian prayed that these two Death Eaters wouldn't let something so small impede their cooperation.

"We will be kidnapping no one, per se; we will only rob them of their free will. Hardly a crime considering the situation we are in," the hooded man explained.

"Now, I hope this has been clarifying enough for the lot of you- again, in simpler terms, who wants their wand hand behind the Imperius Curse?" So far, not one of Julian's colleagues had offered.

As soon as Selwin was done rebuttal, he sat down and noticed that the leader was coming up speak again. Selwin payed attention carefully as the leader began to talk. There truly had been a misunderstanding between what the leader had said and what him and Mrs. Styx had understood. It wasn't often that Selwin would make the mistake of misunderstanding something, but life was about making errors, only those errors were forgivable that could be turned into right and in this situation, it can be turned right.

Selwin listened as the leader explained what he was actually talking about and wording his words carefully. Selwin respected the disagreement of the leader on some ends and then Selwin agreed with him on a few other ends such as who would want to be the puppeteer. It was funny how non of the other death eaters were raising their hands to give input or perhaps offering to be the person doing all of the controlling. Selwin had the courage to offer to be the puppeteer, but it would be foolish for him to offer since he was a death eater in training and that there were man others who were much more experienced than he was. Selwin was getting an adrenal rush to stand up to offer, but at the same time, he didn't want to make a fool out of himself. "Thank you for the explanation. I appreciate you correcting mine and Mrs. Styx mistake." said Selwin with utmost respect. He sat back for a little longer to see if anyone else would offer. There were few other death eaters that were giving a cold look to Selwin, but it didn't scare him one bit. Selwin doesn't care what anyone thinks of him. Whenever he feels the need to respond, he will do so, but with respect of course.

Finally the whole plot was coming together and Anastasia felt a little bit more comfortable than she had when the whole meeting began because now they actually had a plan. The little dispute made Anastasia snort with amusement though, the young male Death Eater succeeded in doing nothing but making himself seem not only stupid but rude as well, chances were that if Nicolette were not under close watch and willing to cooperate she would have popped him a good one. At least that is what she had always done to Alphonse when he decided to run his mouth against her like so. when Julian asked the group who wanted to be the one casting the Imperius curse onto another, Anastasia did not dare raise her hand and volunteer herself to do the job. It was a good plan but she did not plan on getting into trouble anytime soon, she was already trying to keep herself hidden from a certain someone so she did not need to worry about even more. The brunette kept silence but let her ice blue eyes shift across the room, would anyone have enough guts to volunteer for this?

Nicolette coughed after the man stopped explaining before she rolled her eyes, the idiot obviously did not listen to a word she said but what else was new. "Here's a better suggestion for you kid, learn to shut your mouth and take criticism and information like an adult. " Nicolette retorted coldly before her gold eyes left his form and went to refocus on Julian, this is why younger Death Eaters were shown little respect these days. Another roll of Nicolette's eyes showed that she was not thrilled with the kid, she made no mistake whatsoever so it shows how much he pays attention. It was then decided that they would be trying to use the imperius curse on one of the Candidate's that would be running, who that person was she did not know. But Nicolette herself was not going to go out and volunteer just because she had a family to take care of now. She could not risk getting herself caught or into the hot zone if things were to go badly which she predicted they just might if the person doing this was not careful with everything they did.

Kalif raised an eyebrow at his wife, but he rolled his eyes at the scene. Of course they would take it literally. Someone would think that when someone used some colorful words that would describe the plan. Kalif would have volunteered if he weren't under a mission already. He was working undercover for the school. Though he hated the fact that he worked with students, but he held some sort of power now that he was Head over the Slytherins. When Nicolette snapped at the younger Death Eater, in training, Kalif shot a glare at her. He responded harshly, "Learn your own temper, Nicolette. This is a meeting, not a day care center." Kalif shook his head and he wondered if she would gripe when they got home.

Leon heard a few of his siblings begin to snicker when Nicolette snapped off at the younger Death Eater but Leon merely shook his head at her, she was becoming more and more like the rest of them. He didn't blame her though because that guy was being just as childish by taking what she said so negatively. Must be sensitive or something. "Well I guess maybe I could volunteer." He hoped and prayed that others would volunteer as well because he didn't want to have to end up doing it himself because he had a family to keep an eye out for. Plus he wasn't the most experience Death Eater out there, and would probably screw up once he felt too pressured to do so. But since he was there he should at least try to make himself useful.

Danielle didn't plan to volunteer for this one bit, especially since there was more then a huge risk of being caught by the Aurors or the Ministry snooping around. She felt that she had done her duty by giving off suggestions and even showing up, she was already feeling sick and tired enough as it was but having a mission like this thrown upon her would probably make it even worse for her to maintain her health to the way it should be. Danielle kept her silence, even though she was beginning to let herself become tired once again she could not help but become just slightly amused by Nicolette's obvious temper. It wasn't long ago that she remembered the Death Eater being nothing but a bubbly klutz who was far too sweet hearted to really yell at anyone, this was just another way of proving that the family had worked it's way into her system. One of the Snow member volunteered themselves to maybe be one of them who used the spell and Danielle let her angelic blue eyes lock onto young Leon carefully, he truly was a fool for that. She herself was only willing to assist slightly but not throw herself out there like that, so she remained silent and waited to see what would happen here.

"I will also be willing to volunteer for this if needed." Alphonse just actually wanted to get out of there as quickly as possible right now because there was quite a few people in the same room that didn't like him very much. Being surrounded by allies gone astray or enemies did not make him feel very comfortable. This whole plan sort of seemed like there was going to be a huge chance for them to take over while still having there be a chance for them to fail at the same time. Alphonse was hoping he would not get chosen but if so he did know how to use the Imperius curse and wasn't afraid to get in trouble either, it would just allow him ways to escape the awful treatment from his family. Still he figured they should give the chance to someone else because he didn't want it as bad.

Nicolette glanced up at her husband and nodded softly, she was done yelling at him anyways and was trying her best to calm herself down. She just did not like being spoken back to like that when she was only trying to help with what little advice she would give. Either way she was going to ignore him form now on and focus her attention elsewhere so she wouldn't get too upset or force Kalif to become more upset than he already seemed to be with her. She felt bad for upsetting him but something had changed about her, she just recently noticed it too. Nicolette felt angrier a lot more, and a lot less happy and willing to do silly things then she used to, she wasn't sure why or when it had happened but it had happened. Both Leon and Alphonse offered themselves up and she stared at them as if they had lost their minds, she had not expected them to volunteer like that but was nonetheless happy that someone was going to do it. How many people did Julian want to consider for this and how would he be able to choose if multiple people volunteered?

While Valcan did not offer suggestions, he offered a meaty hand of participation. "I could use the Imperius Curse," he remarked, his offering heavy with accent, "that is not a task that is too difficult." The big Norwegian smirked, leaning back. Surely he was more entitled to the job than any snot-nosed child who liked to play dress-up. Valcan was smug, arrogant, and set in his ways. Any apology for his behavior would have to be avada-kedavra'd out of him. The old Death Eater observed his competition, confident that he would claim victory. Age and experience would bring their success, not the ignorance of youth.

Ioan continued to listen as several of the older death eaters offered their opinion on the matter before the head stood up. The oppresive heat in the place was sending beads of sweat down Ioan's neck, but his only sign of discomfort was a wiping of his neck before he returned his hand to the back of the seat beside him. His excitement grew as he listened to the head death eater speak. A puppet? That was a most excellent idea in his opinion. If it worked, it would mean that the death eaters would get something done right under the noses of the aurors and the ministry. A smirk crossed his face at the very thought.

It quickly fled as one of the trainees stood. Ioan rolled his eyes, and fixed the death eater with a cold stare. Had he not been listening? He listened as first another death eater and then the leader corrected him. Ioan was quite surprised that some were already ready to target a ministry official. It likely would be easier to get to someone who wasn't necessarily an official since the person would be less likely to see a threat coming, and the less the ministry was involved the better in his opinion.

When the leader began to ask for volunteers, Ioan was not surprised that none of the newer looking death eaters seemed eager to volunteer. Of all those who volunteered, the most surprising was the older man sitting towards the front. Not because he was older, but because he didn't expect one of the veterans to volunteer for such a job. Standing up, Ioan spoke in an almost lazy manner. "I'd be willing to volunteer for the job as well or as support for whoever the candidate might turn out to be. I think I can be an asset in obtaining votes for our candidate." Ioan sat then, a smirk on his face. He could be quite persuasive and charming when he needed to be.

Esmerelda listened silently as the plan took shape. She had always thought that the Death Eaters were inpenetrable, but now . . . There were so many small frictions she could see between members even just observing the conversation. It seemed ridiculous to her.

At the thought of having a puppeteer Esmerelda stiffened with interest, but she remained silent for a while longer. It would pay to be cautious. Finally though, she made a decision and spoke. She felt like putting her hand up, as though it was a school leson, but that would make her seem immature. Instead, Esmerelda simply raised her voice for the first time.
"I volunteer."

Though they were small in number, Julian was pleased with the volunteers. Not all seemed so willing to do what needed to be done. The hooded man found this disappointing. Were they not champions of the same cause? Julian chose not to address the issue, turning instead to the here and now. He did not wish to hinder productivity with his displeasure.

Considering their strengths and weaknesses, Julian weighed the qualities of the candidates. His decision was swift and direct. "Lazuli, you will handle the task. I am assuming that you are proficient at using the Imperius Curse?"
