Kira had been home for a bit, and she both enjoyed her visit to Scotland and immensely regretted it. She missed Arcturus more now, and it bothered her how much he was on her mind. She still thought of Caelan from time to time, but it had subsided from a shattering heartbreak to a quiet sadness.

She had wanted to thank Arc for everything he had done for her, from his kindness and support to the butterflies in her tummy when she thought of him. After a lot of thought, she had decided to use another of her... quieter talents. She had done something similar to her own bed in her earlier years, and after an hour or so looking over old journals she found the right measurements. She took a bit to gather supplies, but now she stood on her dark leather couch, poster paper taped to the wall.

Her room was... cozy, if nothing else. From the galaxies swirling over her walls and ceiling to the full bookcases and the dark oak desk in the corner, to her windowseat bed covered with fluffy pillows and a dark, fluffy purple comforter.

She took a moment to pull her hair up, starting to sing along to the music in her headphones as she worked. Her laptop was open on the nightstand next to her, a map of the stars in scotland open in the screen. She had finally decided to pick the map of stars recorded the day Arc had been born, thinking it would hold the most significance.

She hardly noticed anyone else as she painted over her sketched map, singing along with feeling.

How the heck Arcturus had managed to actually convince his father to let him go and spend the second week of the break at the inn where Kira stayed was beyond him, but the teen liked to believe that it was because he had pretty much thrown himself into his work as an intern at the observatory. It must have been clear to his Dad that he was missing her a lot. After being greeted by Kira's infamous sister and her husband, and even the three little ones, Arcturus followed the directions to his friend's room given to him by her sister. He thought that they were nice and friendly people but couldn't help to get the feeling that they knew something he didn't, especially when the husband started giving him certain looks before he was being shoved in the right direction. Shrugging it off, as there were other things at the moment that were way more important, such as hoping that he was good at following directions, the Ravenclaw could hear a soft singing voice coming from one end of the hallway. His heart made a little flutter the moment he realised to whom that voice belonged to.

He knew that he had arrived at the right door when he could hear her singing on the other side of it. Knocking three times to let her know that someone was at the door rather than just barging in like a mad man, he waited patiently for a response from his friend. However, nothing was coming back from the other side of the door. he knocked again, this time a little louder, and waited once again. Still nothing. After waiting another couple of seconds, Arcturus gripped the door handle and slowly opened the door. His glanced around the room until his eyes finally reached her, cheeks starting to heat up a little when he noticed what she was wearing. Retracting a little, Arcturus felt as if he was invading in some private moment or something. Yet she couldn't hear him knocking with her headphones on so he did have to enter her bedroom. He looked up to see what she was painting on the wall but couldn't make much of it yet. Eventually, his eyes wandered back to his friend who was still very much singing along to the song she was hearing through her headphones. Rummaging in his pockets for his gloves, he decided to throw one at her to get her attention, as knocking or calling her name wasn't working.

Kira jumped as she felt a glove smack her leg, looking down to kick at the offending piece of clothing. "Really, Tyra?" She complained, pulling her headphones down. "I already told you-" She turned, hand on her hip and pointing the paintbrush at who she thought was her sister, only to freeze up. Her eyes widened as she dropped the paintbrush. "Arc!" She jumped off the couch and darted over, knocking into him with a giggle. "What are you doing here?" She asked, cuddling into his neck for a minute before jumping back. "What are you doing? Out!" She pushed him back a bit, shutting the door in his face. After a few minutes, Kira opened the door and stepped out, shutting it behind her and leaning against it. "Hi," She greeted, heart fluttering in her chest. "I- I wasn't expecting to see you," She tucked her hair behind her ear, smiling up at him.

He put his arms around Kira to hug her and smiled widely. ''I was in the neighbourhood and thought that I should drop by,'' he answered, giving her the same excuse she had given him. It wasn't until she was in his arms that he realised how much he had actually missed her. ''Wha-'' He staggered backwards as she pushed him back to close the door in front of him. ''Well can I at least get my glove back, then?'' he said with a chuckle. Leaning against the doorpost whilst she was doing whatever she was doing behind the door, Arcturus glanced down at his watch. It was working again now that he was in the Muggle world. When the door opened again a couple of minutes later, he stepped back to make room for Kira. ''Hello,'' the teen replied, not failing to notice that she had put on something else. It seemed that he was right to think that he had found her whilst she was having a moment to herself. ''Me neither.'' He was sure that he would have to wait for the break to be over until he would be able to see his best friend again, but then his father had come to see him in his room and told him otherwise. ''I hope you don't mind it, though. Things got really boring after you left that morning.'' Even though Kira had only been there for one day, it had felt like it had been longer than that.

oops

Kira giggled. "I don't mind, silly. Have they shown you around? Have you met everyone? Come on," she took his hand and dragged him with her, showing him around her home. From the gardens to the dining hall, the lounge and the kitchens. After showing him a few of the guest rooms they eventually made their way back to the kitchen with her family.

She walked away for a moment, talking quietly to her sister a moment. Jason took the chance to slide up next to Arc, putting a hand on his shoulder and speaking low. "I'm a doctor, Arcturus. I know how to make a death look natural." There was a slight pause. "Don't give up on her, she's closer than you think," he patted Arcs shoulder, walking away to drop down and play with the triplets.

Arcturus shook his head when she asked him if the people he met in the lobby had shown him around the inn. They hadn't yet, something told him that they left that particular part to her now that he was here. ''I've met your sister and her husband as well as the three younglings,'' the teen told her. He looked around curiously whilst she showed him around the building. It was nice to see the infamous place and all the infamous people he had heard of so much in the past. ''I never know that the inn was this big,'' Arcturus commented as they made their way into the kitchen. She had told him about the inn multiple times now, yet somehow he never imagined it being as big or as modern as it actually was. He felt a little awkward in the presence of people he did not really now, so mostly let Kira do all the taking, only nodded and answering questions with 'yes' or 'no' whenever one of them asked him something.

''Yeah, well, I can do magic,'' he muttered, not wanting to feel somewhat threatened by someone he didn't know. Arcturus followed the man with his eyes as he walked away from him. There was clearly something going on that he did not know about but Jason did. Was he giving up on Kira after all this time? Well, truth be told, he had certainly been trying to do so earlier, but that was before she had visited him at the observatory. She was not ready yet, she had said so repeatedly, and yet there was something about the way she had kissed him back that made him doubt what he thought he know was true. Should he let it go until she told him what she really wanted to happen between them? If so, he knew that they had to stop kissing one another from time to time, especially if he wanted her to take the time.

After a bit of socialising with Kira's family, she eventually took him back to her room to hang out for a bit before dinner would be ready. He still couldn't make much sense of the thing she was painting on one of her bedroom walls, it looked like just a black mass to him. He was sure that it would be something nice, though. She was talented like that. Looking around the room some more, he thought that he was learning more new things about his best friend with direction he turned to. ''Have you always lived here?'' Arcturus asked as he seated himself on the chair next to her desk.

Kira ignored her sister's ribbing as Arcturus talked to Jason, rolling her eyes and nudging her sister. "Can he stay for dinner?" She asked quietly, and Tyra laughed. "Sweetness, he can stay as long as he wants. I'll even run you both to school if you want. But sweetness," Tyra placed a hand on Kira's arm, "This isn't a rebound after Caelan, is it? I don't want to see either of you hurt, he's such a sweetheart," Tyra asked quietly. Kira's brow furrowed. What? Rebound? "You don't know anything," She murmured, shrugging away from her sister. She hadn't jumped into anything with Arc, she knew that, she had thought of nothing but their relationship and what it meant or what it was since he'd admitted to fancying her.

After a bit they went to her room, and after shutting her laptop she moved to sit on her bed, pulling over a pillow to hold to her chest. "Always," She responded, "It's been in the family for a while." She looked away, biting her lip. "Arc, can I ask you something?" She hesitated, playing with the hem of the pillow idly as she put her words together. "You don't.... you don't think that what we have is just a rebound, do you? Tyra asked me and it's bothering me," She rushed on, not giving him a chance to respond.

"I've thought over this, over us, a lot, and part of why I was hesitant was because I didn't want it to be that, I didn't want to do that to you," She sighed, looking out the window as she continued on. "But you have to understand. What I had with Caelan... I loved him. I did. I thought he loved me. I thought... if I could just love him enough, everything would be alright. But it wasn't." She sighed. "Caelan was a Maxwell. He was so caught up in being that, in the family name, that I honestly think he forgot to be himself. He studied so hard to be a lawyer, but not because it was what he wanted. He never stopped to think if it was what he wanted, his family was in the law so he should be too." She shook her head. "His family ruled our entire relationship. He struck a deal with his mother to date me, behind my back, had her test me. I passed, but barely, and I was threatened by his family before." She rubbed her palm, remembering the night Nora had slit it open.

"He was hardly ever around. He was always busy studying. I never received any roses. He tended to forget everything. My birthday, dates, holidays," She sighed. "I fought for him. But I always wondered if maybe I was the only one fighting. I suppose now I have my answer." She hugged the pillow closer to her, feeling vulnerable opening up for the first time about Caelan. "And when I was with him, I was never really myself. I was always trying to be good enough. To be better than I am. There was so much conflict surrounding our relationship I always wondered if I was enough if I could be enough."

She took a breath, blinking back the tears. Her tone softened. "But when I'm with you... I feel like I'm home." She blushed, knowing she just had to bare her heart. "I feel safe, and warm. We talk, have intelligent conversations that intrigue me, I never have to worry about being enough when we're together because you make me feel special." She took a deep breath. "You're my best friend, and I- I'm falling in love with you. I've fought it, I really have, but I can't help myself." She bit her lip, looking up to him. "I don't... I don't want to fight it anymore, Arc. If... I let go, and let myself fall... would you catch me?" She asked softly, heart thundering in her ears as she laid it all on the line.

It surely would have been nice growing up at a place like the inn. He could see a mini version of himself running about the hallways and annoying the customers by showing them his various drawings of the stars his father had photographed. Perhaps it had something to do with the fact that their own house used to be pretty big as well before an economic recession in the Muggle world led to both his parents, as well as those of his cousin, losing their jobs. It was from that point on that the two families had struggled to get along together as they had done before. Even his father and uncle's store suffered because of it. And now the only connection keeping the two families together was withering too. It was sad, really. Taken out of his thoughts by Kira wanting to ask him a question, Arcturus jerked his head around and looked back up to her. Listening to her, he furrowed his brow. He didn't think of whatever this was as a rebound, though the fact that it was bothering her troubled him a bit. Did she think of this as just that? A rebound? He didn't hope so. While it was true that he had somehow developed a little crush on her over the years, he had been there for her when she needed him as a friend and nothing else. Yet as he continued to spend more and more time with Kira, the teen found it becoming more difficult to suppress his true feelings for her.

However, before Arcturus could give his opinion on the matter, Kira continued. While he was glad that she didn't want to see it as a mere rebound and that she didn't want to do that to him either, his heart sunk to the pit of his stomach the moment she brought up Caelan in their conversation. It was always him, no matter what. He knew that it was not just something that one could get over so easily, the two of them were engaged to each other for crying out. But every time she mentioned him or his name whenever the two of them were spending time together, it felt like he was somehow competing against the former Ravenclaw for her love and affection. Which he knew wasn't the case since she had let him know repeatedly that she was very much over him. Yet Arcturus couldn't help but feel this way. And now she was practically telling him how wonderful they could have been had Caelan not cared so much what his family thought of him. He averted Kira's gaze for a second, finding it particularly hard to keep an objective mind at the moment. Who the f#ck would strike a deal with their mother for something like a relationship? He knew that the Maxwell's were a bunch of aristocratic nutjobs, but this was just ridiculous. Trying his absolute best hide his opinions about Caelan and the Maxwells from his face, Arcturus turned back towards Kira once more, as apparently she wasn't done talking just yet.

What she told him next actually angered him a little. How could one forget such things? She meant to world to him, so to hear her say that she never got any presents or whatever for her birthday or the holidays... It made his blood boil. How in the world could someone be so inconsiderate? It wasn't the fact that they were boyfriend and girlfriend and that Caelan did not put any effort into it, it was the fact that they had been engaged and he still hadn't tried his best to put any effort into it. At least it sounded like so from what Kira was telling him. He continued to listen in silence how she told him that she did not feel like she could be herself around him. And now he was actually getting a little angry with her as well. If she knew that she couldn't be herself whenever she was around him, if she knew that there was so much conflict surrounding their relationship, then why the hell did she stay with him for so long? Surely Kira must have known that things weren't going to work out the way she wanted things to go? Or had she really been that blind until Caelan's letter? And how in the world had he managed to get himself mixed in all of this? He let out a soft sigh when she took a moment to breath, knowing that he shouldn't get so worked up.

Arcturus softened when Kira said that she felt like home whenever she was with him. It felt nice to hear her say such a thing - it meant that there was at least a little bit of hope left for the two of them to be together, even if he was beginning to doubt the possibilities of such ever happening. She made his heart flutter even more with her next words. It was honestly all he had been hoping to hear since a month or so ago. Yet now that she had said the words, he wasn't so sure about it anymore. ''I don't think that you have been paying much attention if you really need to ask me that question,'' the Ravenclaw replied, unable to hide the anger from his voice. Of course, Arcturus would catch her if she'd fall, hadn't he made that pretty much clear by now? Or was she too worried about herself and her own feelings that she hadn't noticed the signs he was giving her? No, he had decided, Kira must have known about his feelings for her. Sighing, for what he was about to say wouldn't do either of them much good, Arcturus' gaze met hers. ''And you say so now but who says that you might not feel otherwise tomorrow? I want to be with you, K, I really do, but you need to know if you are one hundred percent sure that you really want this as well. I don't think I can play this back and forth for much longer.''

Kira flinched back for a moment at the anger in Arc's voice. She decided to address his concerns one by one. She took a breath, clutching the pillow tighter. "I've been paying attention," She managed, "I've just been scared you would change your mind. I don't really think I'm much of a catch." She explained softly, taking another breath before setting down her pillow and crossing the room. She hesitated a moment before running her hands over his face. "I know what I want, Arcturus," She managed, heart in her throat. "It's the same thing I've wanted since you kissed me at the ball," She laid her arms over his shoulders. "I'm still afraid, but... it's a chance I'm willing to take," She managed. She paused a moment, her eyes searching his. "I love you, Arcturus," She murmured, heart pounding in her chest, and leaned in to kiss him softly.

Arcturus noticed the way she flinched and immediately felt bad for not being able to hide the anger from his voice. He hadn't meant to get upset with Kira but it had just sort of happened. Taking a deep breath to calm himself down, he listened to what she was saying once more. She was right to think that he would change his mind, he had been trying to do so multiple times in the past couple of months just to make things easier for her to figure out. He watched with bated breath as she moved over towards him, finding it a difficult to breathe properly when she ran her hands over his face. She was really pretty up close. He couldn't stop himself from smiling at her words. ''A chance is all I am asking for,'' Arcturus replied. He smiled slightly when she looked at him, leaning in a little when she did the same. He kissed her back, feeling his cheeks burning up as he did so. ''I love you too, Kira,'' he told her after he pulled back from the kiss. Would all the difficulty and complications finally be over?

Arcturus had been awake for about an hour when he checked his watch for the third time that morning and had been unable to fall back to sleep again now that doubt was settling itself in his mind. It was funny how things like that worked. He had been so sure of his own feelings yesterday night that he had felt like the happiest person on earth when Kira confessed to him that she loved him. It had been nice, last night, the two of them had talked through most of the night before eventually falling asleep together. But now as he lay there awake staring at the galaxy painted wall, he was doubting the fact if they should really be together, whether or not he would be good enough for someone so talented as the girl next to him. He was just a simple kid with an obsession for everything that had to do with the universe and its stars around them. No, he couldn't possibly do this to her, she deserved someone who was properly skilled in stuff other than knowing all the stars in the galaxy. Deciding that it was better for everyone involved if he would just leave, Arcturus tried to be as quiet as possible as he scooted away from her and off the couch.

After closing Kira's bedroom door behind him, the teen made his way to the communal area of the inn in the hope that he would find one of the adults so that they could take him home. He would explain things to his friend as soon as he would be home in a letter, even though that would probably be the shittiest thing he'd ever do. Arcturus eventually found Tyra on her laptop and walked over towards her. It would indeed be better for all of them if he just left the place, right? ''Eh, hello, good morning,'' he said, announcing his presence to the woman.

Tyra had been having a good morning, humming lightly as she went through wedding videos that had been compiled during Danielle and Damien's wedding last year. She looked up from her work when she heard a voice. "Oh, Arcturus!" She grinned, getting up and hugging him. "We didn't have much chance to talk yesterday, did we?" She chuckled, taking his hand and pulling him over to the desk with her. "Come on, have a seat," She gushed. "I was just putting together an anniversary package for my brother in law, He didn't get married here, but he and his wife had their first date here and Kira arranged the wedding." She chattered happily, "Here, let me show you a few videos." She took a moment, humming and hawing, shushing him if he tried to interrupt. "I'm no good with computers," She mumbled to herself, grinning in satisfaction as a few videos set to playing. One was a video of Ember and her cousins performing, the next a dance of the couples on the floor, then a third began and Tyra lit up. "Ooooh, I kinda remember this one!" She giggled. "I think I had to scold Kira in this one, pay attention."

Tyra stood from the table, storming away. Jason laughed and motioned for the camera guy to follow. "You want interesting, I would follow her, I know that look." There was a moment of shared laughter before the guy approached Tyra and Kira. "Why isn't Caelan with you?" Tyra chided, and the brunette just shook her head.

"He's a busy guy, Tyra, I'm busy with the wedding, there's stuff to be done, shoo," Kira tried to evade her sister, but Tyra was having none of it.

"Kira, he's your fiancee, he should make time for you," Tyra tried to scold her little sister, but Kira just set down the tray she was carrying on the table with a clank.

"I know, Tyra, I know!" Kira sounded exasperated. "I know it isn't perfect, I just need to hold out until I graduate and we can get away, that's it, he'll have more time and we can get away from his family," Kira sounded exhausted. "It has to work," She looked to her sister, clearly worn out, "I know Tyra, I know, please stop pestering me. I..." Kira sighed, running a hand over her ponytail. "Look, I have to fight for this. If this doesn't work and I haven't given it all I have, I'll regret it," She explained softly, "Back in third year, not long before Caelan, there was this boy, he was really smart and sweet and I was really starting to like him. But then he decided to focus on his studies and he stopped talking to me, and I... I didn't fight it. And I've always regretted not going after him. I can't do that again," She sighed, "Now if you'll excuse me, I need to talk to Cooper, we're out of appetizers," Kira tried to leave, but Tyra stopped her.

"Key, sweetness, I know that sad puppy dog look, who was this boy?" She furrowed her brow, "You aren't having second thoughts about Caelan, are you?" She asked, concern in her eyes.

Kira just rolled her eyes. "Oh please, I'm not a tramp, Tyra. Besides, Arcturus hasn't spoken to me in years. There's nothing to worry about." She stuck her tongue out at her sister, shooting a longing glance to Caelan on the other side of the courtyard talking to his cousin before sighing and walking away.

Tyra laughed as the video ended. "Oops, I forgot what that conversation was about." She nudged Arc, "But hey, looks like you've always had a chance there, lover boy," She teased, ruffling his hair. "I only have a few more videos to go through, do you want to hang out and help me?" She asked, giving him a bright smile.

Arcturus awkwardly wrapped an arm around the woman as she went in for a hug, finding it weird that she was doing so since she had only known him for a day now. He reluctantly did as Tyra asked, however, and seated himself next to her, not wanting to be rude. He really didn't feel like socialising with her right now, though. He just wanted to go home and think about all of this in his own bedroom. In peace. He also didn't want to watch old wedding videos with her, since that was not the reason why he had sought her out, but every time he tried to say something Tyra simply sushed him. Why she thought that a teenage boy would be interested in such was beyond him. He didn't want to see any videos of Kira talking about Caelan either but he didn't really have much of a choice apparently. Arcturus sat in silence while the video played in front of him on the laptop. It only sparked his interest as soon as virtual Kira told her sister about how she failed to fight for a boy because he had a feeling that he might know of who Kira was speaking of. It made his heart sink to the pit of his stomach for the second time in the last twenty-four hours. And then the Kira on the screen said his name which only confirmed what he was thinking.

So there had been something going on back in their third year? Something would have been going on between them now already had he not focuses all of his time and attention on his studies? Or if she had fought for it? How could he have been this stupid? It made Arcturus realise that something similar was happening again now. She was fighting for them this time around, yet it was him who was running away, him turning his attention elsewhere even if he knew that such was not what he truly wanted. He wanted her. Now more than ever. His mind racing with thoughts when she nudged him, the teen stood up and averted her gaze. ''Excuse me, there is something I need to do first,'' Arcturus said, walking away from Tyra without waiting for her to ask questions, back the way he had come from. When he reached Kira's bedroom, at last, he opened the door and walked it. It was now that there was light coming into the bedroom that he noticed what she had been making whilst they had been talking to one another. Staring at it for another moment, he turned himself around to Kira and sat next to her on the couch. He shook her gently, ''Hey, psst, wake up,'' the teen said softly. "Why did you never tell me you regretted that we stopped talking to each other back then?" he asked.

Kira was having a wonderful night. She curled up with Arcturus, talking with him late into the night as she ran her fingers through the hair at the nape of his neck. She fell asleep without even realizing she'd been drifting off, and she slept well for once. She awoke, arms under her pillow and blanket tangled around her legs. "Mmmm?" Her eyes fluttered open, and she smiled warmly upon seeing him. She stretched as he asked her a question. "I was worried you'd be mad at me," She admitted softly, barely awake. "You had already left once, I didn't want to give you any reason to do it again," She yawned, rubbing her eyes tiredly and half crawling over to curl up against him, her head in his lap. "It was the other reason I was so hesitant," She murmured, relaxing against him. "Even if you never loved me or didn't want to be my boyfriend," She murmured, "I still need you as my best friend. I didn't want to push you away." She sighed, reaching down and blindly struggling to pull the blanket back up around her for a moment before settling down again, running her thumb lightly against his hip without a thought. "I was afraid I would mess it up and lose you completely," She said, voice fading out as she started to fall asleep again.

Arcturus smiled back at her when she opened her eyes. Those pretty blue eyes in which he often found himself lost. What had he been thinking of, trying to leave her behind to go back home? Idiot. He held his arm up for Kira when she crawled over to curl up against him so that she could rest her head on his lap and continued to listen to her. It wasn't as if he had been actively trying to severe his connections to his friends back then, he just really wanted to focus his attention on his studies for once rather than running around the school and creating chaos by breaking some of its rules. Well, he knew one thing for sure and that was that he certainly regretting doing so now. Moron. He brushed the hair out of her face, playing with it a little. Her reason as to why she had never reached out to him was fair, and it seemed that the two of them could have avoided all of this had he just mustered up the courage to talk to her again. He let out a sigh as he watched her fall asleep. Why did growing up have to be so difficult? After planing a soft kiss on her forehead, he let his head rest of the back of the couch and stared up at the ceiling before eventually closing his eyes too. His mind at ease and any doubts he previously had vanished, Arcturus curled up next to her at some point while they were sleeping.

Kira woke up an hour or two later, stretching and taking a moment to take stock of where she was. She sat up, rubbing her eyes. Where...? She paused as she saw Arcturus asleep next to her. She smiled softly, moving so she was laying on him, sure to keep her weight on her knees. She put a hand over his chest and placed her chin on it, watching him a moment with adoration in her eyes. "Arc," she whispered, brushing his hair from his eyes. "Pssst," she leaned up to place a soft kiss on his neck, feeling playful. "Pay attention to me," she pouted, trying to wake him up.

Arcturus shifted slightly on the couch when he felt something move on top of him and staying there. He wasn't a particularly deep sleeper but since he had been up already earlier in the morning, it was taking him some time to properly wake up. After taking another moment to realise that he was not in his own bedroom at the observatory but that he was in Kira's room at the inn, the teen figured that he knew who had moved to lay on top of him, which the soft whisper of his best friend only confirmed. "That tickles," he said sleepily, grinning slightly, though not daring to open up his eyes just yet as the light would probably hurt his eyes. The bags under his eyes, however, from being up earlier, were noticeable ever so slightly. "Good morning to you too," he added, very slowly trying to open one of his eyes to look at her.

Kira frowned, running a finger lightly under his eyes. "Hey," she complained softly, "I thought I was the sleepless one," she ran her fingers lightly down his face. "Is everything okay?" She worried that maybe she had pushed things too far, that maybe he was having second thoughts. She had thought they were dating now, but maybe that was presumptuous of her. She quickly moved away, biting her lip and fidgeting nervously as she scooted to the other end of the couch, trying to give him space. She tucked her hair behind her ear, running through last night again in her mind. Everything had seemed perfect. Was she wrong?

He nodded his head at the question and pushed himself up on the couch when Kira scooted away from him to the other end, rubbing the sleep out of his eyes. "Yeah, everything is fine, just woke up earlier and am still a little tired," Arcturus told her, purposefully leaving out the part where he got out of bed to look for an adult to take him back home. Letting out a yawn, he rested his head on the back of the couch and turned it over to look at her. "What about you? Did you sleep okay?" he asked, rubbing his eyes some more. She had been sound asleep from what he had seen earlier so could only hope that she had been sleeping well too.

Kira relaxed a little bit, giving him a shy smile. "Yeah, I actually slept really good, it was nice." She tucked her legs under her, blushing and playing with a strand of her hair. "So, um, Arc," she started, feeling nervous, "You're my boyfri- no, I mean, are you my- no, do you- shoot, if you want maybe- No, I- oh dear," Kira blushed worse, burying her face in her hands to hide her embarrassment as she fumbled through the entire thing, unsure if hed even understood her question. Merlin, she was such a mess.

Arcturus chuckled. ''Are you asking me to be your boyfriend, K?'' he teased. He thought that it was sweet that she was embarrassed by asking him if he wanted to be her boyfriend. Of course, he would want that, that's all he wanted the moment his little crush on her started. He couldn't help to feel embarrassed as well, however. Embarrassed by the fact that he had really thought of leaving her here without telling her anything. He knew he could never tell her about his doubts, she'd already dealt with things like that enough for one lifetime. He liked her too much to do so anyway, without his doubts stopping him, that is. ''Would you want me to be your boyfriend?''

Kira was sure she was going to melt. She peeked at him, taking a breath and lowering her hands. She bit her lip, folding her hands in her lap and letting her hair cover her face. She nodded slightly to his first question, glancing up as he asked a second. "I would," she managed softly, hesitating before reaching out to place her hand on his. "Would... would you like that?" She asked quietly in return, heart thundering in her chest.

Arcturus tilted his head a little, finding Kira's reaction endearing to watch. He did not know why she was acting all shy and embarrassed, well he thought that he could guess the reason why she was acting the way she was, which was why he had promised himself to do better. He didn't want her to go through something similar again. He placed his other hand on top of hers and smiled widely. "Of course, I would like that, silly," Arcturus replied, scooting a bit closer to her. "Can I... Can I kiss you?" He knew that had already done so before but he felt like he needed to ask for permission to do so this time around.

Kira smiled softly, reaching up and brushing her fingers lightly over his face. "Of course," she whispered, leaning closer, "You always can." She ran her fingers into his hair. "I love you, Arcturus," she murmured again, smiling warmly up at him.

Her touch was soft and made his heart flutter. He liked how she ran her fingers through his hair, especially now since he was still a bit sleepy. Leaning forward also, Arcturus returned the smile before planting his lips on hers and giving her a soft kiss. Knowing that they could to do stuff like this more often now was odd but definitely something he could get used to real quick. ''I love you, too,'' the teen said in between kisses.
