Elvera made her way to the great hall. she was dressed in black with a short cape a hat and a mask covering her eyes. in her hands was a bag stuffed with sweets with a hole in the bottom corner allowing one to fall out every now and then. She was holding the hole closed until she got to the hall. The idea had come from a conversation she had had over dinner one evening with a colleague. she couldn't totally remember who but it could have been Kahurangi. they had jokingly suggested a bank heist as something to do in their free time but the idea had stuck with her and morphed into her Halloween costume.
She reached the entrance hall and slung the bag over her shoulder. noting a sweet falling out as she went, She had selected the sweets to be each wrapped on its own so it wouldn't matter if it fell on the floor people could still eat them. but she had also charmed the contents that if they weren't picked up in thirty seconds they would transport back into the bag. this ensured that the bag would never end up empty and it would mean that the floow wasn't covered with things that people would slip on. . She always enjoyed the feast even though she was on supervisor duty she found she had fun. she wandered though the crowds fof students looking to see who she recognized leaving behind her a trail of sweets that hansel and Gretal would be proud of.

Ryan had been following the trail for a few minutes now, intrigued when he'd spotted a lolly on the floor suddenly disappear. Finding a few more shortly after, Ryan had discovered they'd only disappear if no one picked them up, and had set about trying to find their source for several minutes until he spotted the culprit moving through the crowd. They seemed tall enough to be an older student, but it was always so hard to tell during events like Halloween. It was part of why Ryan liked showing up at these dances even if he had no real interest in dressing up himself. What he did have an interest in was catching the lolly leaver and finding out who they were and where they got all the sweets from.

Squeezing past a pair of dancing skeletons, Ryan managed to catch a lolly right as it fell from the whole in the person's bag, reaching to try and tap them on the shoulder as he fumbled with the wrapped sweet. "Excuse me-" he said, nearly dropping the lolly as he tried to shove it in his pocket, "You've got a hole in your bag, you know," he said, trying to raise his voice enough to be heard over the din of the hall.

Elvera Was making her way slowly around the hall. keeping an eye out for students misbehaving. she was glad that for the most part everyone seemed to be sticking to the rules. it was Halloween and they did let the rules get a little axer let people play some harmless pranks and have some fun but she was there to make sure that no one took the leniencies too far.
She was just considering if she should stop and get some food, or find one of the other professors to talk to. she knew most students found it uncool to talk to a professor. evenone as 'cool' as her, especially one as 'cool' as her when they could be hanging out with friends. she was still coming to a conclusion when she felt a tap on her shoulder. She had expected one of her colleagues but instead there was a boy. she didn't recognise him so either he didn't take divination or she would be getting him next semester with the third years. she doubted he was younger than that. as he let her know that her bag was seeking sweets she took a second to decide on how to react. it seemed like he was genuinely concerned that she didn't know, he wasn't trying to be a smart alec. but that didn't help her uncertainty as to if she should keep in character or if she should be herself. "Oh no my sweet loot." she said sounding slightly shocked before screwing up her face in the poor semblance of a wink. "do you want some" she asked. even though there were large bowls of sweets at the food table hardly ten meters away. she had the bag towards him watching a sweet fell out. "and take a couple of house points to for, umm... your concern, what was your name? she said. the boy had seemed genuinely concerned. and if it was any other day or any other bag letting someone know their bag had a hole in it was something that should be rewarded.

Ryan was surprised when the culprit turned around and he could vaguely recognize her as one of the professors, though the mask and what might have been an attempt at a wink made the assessment a lot harder. "You dropped a lot, I've been following them," he said, pulling a few of the lollies from his pockets, though it didn't seem like the professor wanted them back. "Did you charm them? I saw some disappear too," he added, more interested in the magic at play here than eating sweets, though the house points where a surprise. Distantly, Ryan was sure his sister would be pleased. "Uh. Ryan. Fisk," he said when she asked for his name, finally confident he was probably speaking to Professor Le Fey. "You're Professor Le Fey, right? You and you daughter have the eye thing," he said, pointing vaguely at his own face. Now that she was facing him properly, he could see her distinctive heterochromia even under her mask.

Elvera was suprised that someone had taken the time to follow her. she had planned the costume as a bit of a joke. when he asked if she charmed the sweets. "Yes. they fall out of the bag and have thirty seconds. if they are picked up they stay where they are. but if not they go back into the bag" she said explaining the magic. the charm had taken her a while in the libary to find the right combination of charms. "you have an interesting way of looking at things Ryan. so i am going to gues that you are in professor Josephs' house." she said.
When The boy identified her she nodded. "Yes that's me. I have the inner eye and selene works there somethine over the holidays so you may have seen her there." she said. thinking that is what he meant. it was funny to think about her daughters. drowingup she would have thought hellia would have been the popular one at schoo. and selene the quiet one that, like her, always seemed to be on the fringes of social groups. but it had turned out that helia was the one that not many people knew and selene was the head girl with a lot of friends.
