Evander played around with his tie as he walked into the castle from the outdoors, specifically, the lawn. He had been absorbing the sunlight outside for some time, meaning that now his skin was a little pink and tender from the burn that had yet to develop. He did not mind too much, as sunlight was still a relatively new concept for him since it usually rained back home. All the time. He was so sick of rain and clouds that he was glad to have come here. He hated being sick and having a cold was possibly the worst thing ever, especially when his mother got all worried about him. He rolled his eyes at the memories. He was so happy to be here, alone, independent at school, ready to learn about magic and cast spells and make friends. The only thing that confused him is this whole 'get sorted' thing. It was cool, but weird. Why split everyone up? It just didn't make that much sense to him.
His stomach rumbled, catching his attention. The small boy paused, and placed his hand on his stomach. How long had it been since he had eaten something? He looked ahead at the Great Hall, and noted that there were some students in there having what he could only assume would be lunch. Evander could go for some lunch! He returned to walking, paying little attention to the sound of footsteps nearby. Why should he worry about footsteps? he was perfectly safe.
That was, until Evander found the ground zooming towards his face. "Ahh!" The part-goblin groaned slightly as his face was slammed against the floor and his body lying flat out on the ground. He slowly rolled over to look up at the person that had mowed him down. With cringed eyes and a little blood running from his nose, Evander examined the person that had neglected to realise he existed. "Story of my life," he muttered, throwing his arms out onto the ground and releasing a sigh. He couldn't be bothered to get up now. He just wanted a nap or something. His nose wasn't that sore, but it did hurt a little bit. Either way, he just couldn't be bothered dealing with this right now.
