It was finally the night of the Yule Ball. Something that Mania had been looking forward to for a few weeks. She always loved the school dances but this year was different. SHE'D BEEN ASKED TO ATTEND ONE! However when Nia had found out one of her best friends, Echolyn, was transferring to a different school next semester she'd asked Felix to meet her around the entrance hall instead of in the common room. She'd wanted to get ready with Echo while she still could. It'd been excruciating trying to figure out whether to keep her hair down or put it up, but since she'd decided to want to use those damn hair straightening potions her hair only really looked good down.
Feeling unusually nervous Mania made her way down the stairs towards where she was going to either look for Felix or settle to wait for him. Every step she took Nia made sure to smooth her dress over, just in case and just to have somewhere to channel the nervous energy. Stopping at the last stair she leaned into a pillar and carefully peeked around it, no idea why she was acting as if she was doing something she shouldn't be. This was just a dance, Felix had asked her because they were friends. There was no sight of the fourth year so the Gryffindor squared her shoulders and took the last step, walking somewhere near the middle of the floor of the entrance hall. Standing next to a wall seemed like she was sulking in the shadows and standing next to the stairs felt just wrong. This was the golden middle road so to say. Mania blinked a few times, trying to get used to the contacts in her eyes again, as she looked around at everyone.
