Staff Dueling - Round #2, Match #7

Re-entering the busy chamber after a brief intermission for the duelists to recuperate, Katherine gestured again for the two combatants to take their places on opposite ends of the platform. There was no need for another run down on the rules at this point, since both parties had overcome one opponent already. Stepping away from the platform as soon as the professors were in position, the Headmistress took her place on a further elevated podium, and raised her hands for attention. "Duelists, prepare yourselves." The woman called, allowing the two a moment to bow. "Commence."

Remember, when you are knocked out, disarmed or otherwise incapacitated and unable to cast any more spells with a wand, you lose. If you run out of points, you also lose.
The duel begins now. Be reminded that you are limited to a 24 hour window of posting from the previous post in the topic or risk forfeit.

Matt wasn't sure how he had won his last duel, but here he was, facing a new opponent. This time, it was actually one of his colleagues, which was a little strange for him. He gave Monty a slight smile before bowing. He decided to try to get a spell in first, pointing his wand at the other man. He cast a Hair-Lengthening Charm, not wanting to cause serious damage yet. For the sake of the spectators, he thought a few funny spells wouldn't be bad for this duel.

Monty was looking forward to facing Matt as his opponent. His duel with Kennedy had been over more quickly than he'd expected, and though he was pleased to have won, it was a shame the fun had ended so soon. Conscious of the spectators, many of whom would be rooting for Matt, Monty stepped up onto the platform and gave a bow. He'd hardly registered the duel beginning before Matt fired a spell his way, which he just managed to defend with a shield charm. Then he cast Confundo, hoping to slow Matt down a little so that he could think.

Matt was a little sad when his spell didn't land, mostly because he thought it would have been very funny. But as Monty sent a more serious spell back to him, Matt realized perhaps this wasn't the time to play around too much. It was a tournament, after all. Matt blocked the other professor's spell with a shield charm, then sent a jelly-fingers curse his way. If he could get Monty to drop his wand, it would be over.
