Lucy was disappointed after Ravenclaw's loss, and that meant she was looking for just about anything else to take her mind off it. She had heard rumours for years about secret games of spin the bottle played by older students, and... well, she was older students, now. It was her turn. She had been spreading the word among the fourth and fifth years all week, mildly wondering if this was really fitting behaviour for a new prefect. Would she get in trouble for organising a secret kissing game? Well, what Professor Josephs didn't know wouldn't hurt her, surely.

Lucy made sure to arrive well before she had told anyone else to be there, scooting the desks out to the edges of the room and setting up a circle of cushions and blankets she had brought. She set a few candles around the room for a bit of mood lighting, giggling a little as she did. It felt a little scandalous, being in a setting so blatantly arranged for ❤️ romance ❤️ but Lucy did her best to ignore the nervous flutter in her stomach, flopping onto a cushion once she was finished setting up and putting the butterbeer bottle in the middle of the circle. Hmm. Maybe she should have brought some rose petals to scatter everywhere...

OOCOut of Character:
Spin the bottle time woooooooooooooooooooooo! Arrivals only for now, but feel free to jump in at any point once the game gets going!

Some ground rules:
  • Please only post with 4th-5th year students to avoid any awkward age differences.
  • Please only join if you're sure you can stay active in the thread if you're spun. I also encourage keeping things OSW style to keep things moving and fun for everyone.
  • I'll be using RNG to determine who the bottle lands on for my posts, but feel free to pick your target however you'd like. Just make sure you make it clear who your char is interacting with, even if IC they do not know their name. I recommend @-ing them to make sure they see it!
  • To avoid accidental godmodding, please either leave room for other people's characters to back out of a kiss or discuss the outcome with the RPer OOC if possible. A kiss on the cheek is fine as well.
  • For extra fun or just to get an idea of the flow, check out the previous games run by Daph, Kris, and I! (Big thanks to Daph for coming up with the idea, and credit to both her and Kris for putting together this list of rules!)

Cassandra had heard whispers of some spin the bottle action and now that was something worth checking out. Walking into the abandoned classroom she gave a smile to the girl who she assumed had started the whole thing. "Is this where that spin the bottle thing is happening? If so I'm down." She said, not waiting for confirmation before going to take a seat.

Morrie was only trying out Spin the Bottle because Vanity had arranged the last one, and even then she wasn't convinced it was her thing, she was at least a little curious to see what it was about. She kind of wished Vanity was here for support this time, but her best friend was too old. That fact annoyed Morrie because she had been too young for the last one. She walked into the abandoned classroom and paused a little on entry. She was one of the first to arrive which was awkward because now she had to wait for people to join. She most definitely was not making small talk with the people already here.

Rosalind was excited. Nervous too, but mostly excited. She'd heard about what the spin the bottle game from her cousin and once she heard it was happening again, knew she had to get in with the action. Who would she kiss? Would it be a boy or a girl? Did she really mind? Who knew! Rosalind was full of uncertainty but she relished in it.

"Hey everyone!" she greeted cheerfully as she arrived, taking a seat. She didn't know not-cousin Lucy well, but had heard about her from cousin-Lucy and knew she was a good person so she sat beside her. She clapped her hands together excitedly a couple of times, then let them rest on her lap. She was thrilled to be here.

Aroha heard about the spin the bottle game and couldn't exactly sit it out. Sure, it would be a bit weird - she might have to kiss a stranger and that was strange thought - but it was almost like a dare, a challenge. And Aroha didn't back down from challenges. Aroha arrived confidently (maybe a little too much so), still riding high from her snitch catch from the last quidditch game but also trying to hide her doubtfulness about all of this. Aroha had never been interested in anyone - not really. Maybe a little bit when she was a kid and thought she was into someone but that was kid-stuff. Aroha was older now. Maybe this was an opportunity.

Truthfully, Ignatius should have ignored the rumour going around. Going into a spin the bottle felt so immature, and Ignatius had to be more mature now that his parents weren't able to spoil him nearly as much. Between that and the bludger hits, he felt very sorry for himself. Maybe, he reasoned, being able to hopefully kiss a pretty girl would vastly improve his mood. As long as it wasn't a girl from the Slytherin team, considering that most of them seemed to relish in pelting him with bludgers. He held his head high and tried not to show that the thought of actually getting to kiss someone for the first time had him feeling a little nervous. Like the way he felt when a game was about to start.

Ignatius really hoped none of the girls had brought bats.

Caius was excited for a game of spin the bottle. He'd kept to himself far too much recently. He made sure to dress nice before strolling down to the game. "Hello, everyone," He greeted with a cheeky grin, falling into a seat. He'd seen his roommate following him, but he didn't comment on it. "Looks like I'm just in time- we need some hufflepuffs here to round out the party," He joked, chuckling at himself.

Zaros had no idea what he was thinking. Why was he participating in this? He'd been tossing the idea about since he'd heard of it, but really what had prompted him to go through with it was seeing one of his roommates leaving for it. He followed Caius- or was it Cassius? Caius, he thought, down to the game. He slipped in, and not saying anything he sat down, already blushing furiously as he just stared at his feet. This was a bad idea. A really, really bad idea.

Sunday had debated on if this would be a good idea, but in the end she'd decided she couldn't not show up, either. She'd spent some extra time on her appearance- putting on an extra cute outfit and doing her hair and makeup. Feeling good, Sunday walked to the abandoned classroom.

She let her eyes sweep over her classmates. Not enough boys were here, but she was pleased with a few of the faces she did see. She decided to optimize on her presence and sat near Lucy, giving the room her best smile. "So, Lucy," She began. "Great idea. It's about time something fun happened around here." @Lucy Holland

Ivy had heard stories about spin the bottle games. both from her siblings and though the general myth that circulated a school where gossip was traded as a means of currency. when she had heard that Lucy was organising a game she was looking forward to attendng wondering if she would getto kiss someone there. which was almost a given as she was sure one of the unofficial rules of the gme was that it kept going until everyone got kissed but she also wondered who she would get to kiss. would it be awkward if she kissed one of her room mates, or would it be the start of a love story as adorable as her brothers.
She had dressed nicely yet also in a way that didnt scream teying too hard before making her way tothe abandoned classroom she slipped covertly through the door shutting it behind her "Hey Guys" she called to the room at large smiling at her dorm mates before taking a seat next to Aroha "hey Ro. " she said

Elise wasn't really sure if she had a choice on whether or not to come to the spin the bottle game. She was pretty sure Lucy would have dragged her down to the second floor if she hadn't come willingly. She didn't have the same sense of urgency that some of her friends had for romance but she couldn't exactly deny that the idea of kissing didn't excite her a little bit. She sat next to Lucy and watched as the other students arrived, curious to see who she might end up kissing before the night was over.

Naveen's palms were sweating before he even entered the abandoned classroom. This was an awful idea, terrible really but he had already done the hard part which was leave his room in the first place. He walked in and was surprised at just how many people had shown up already. He swallowed hard and considered turning around and leaving, but that would be far more embarrassing at this point. In the end he took a seat far from Ivy. His face felt hot as he tried not to look at her. Turning her down last year had been hard but he didn't feel like he was really ready to date someone, not seriously. But a game of spin the bottle was different, surely. They weren't about to pair up at the end, it was just a kiss. Right? Naveen took a deep breath and wiped his sweaty palms on his legs in an attempt to keep his cool before he spiraled any farther.

Violet had heard the rumours of the spin the bottle game happening, and she wanted in. She was a fifth year, and it was almost embarrassing that she had not had her first kiss yet. and honestly at this point it looked like the game was a good way to get it out of the way. besides she was pretty sure that there was going to be drama and if there was tea she wanted to be in the know.
She had made sure to dress nicely, do her hair neatly and out on some light natural makeup as well as some lipgloss as she wanted to look her best for the game. As she walked to the classroom, she passed her brother on the stairs who seemed different, happy, even slightly smug, and did his face look red? She hurried past him, trying not to notice him as though it was some way to stop him noticing her. She didnt want the head boy interrupting the game and she had a feeling a goodie two-shoes nerd like him would not approve of a harmless game of spin the bottle. it was bad enough that her big brother who always hid from any kind of social interaction, was the head boy she didnt want the embaressment of him spoiling their fun as well or her reputation would never recover.
She entered the classroom and looked around, noticing the circle of people on the floor. Most of them she only knew vaguely there were onlyom Slytherin. One was a girl from the year below, there was a boy from the quidditch team in the year below her, three others fr and the other was morrie. this was starting to look like a bad idea. what if her first kiss was her dorm mate whose guts had a mutual hatred? the only good thing from that would be that she would have blackmail material to hold over her for life. though she wasn't sure if that would be worth it. "heya. " she said before sitting down in a free spot where she wasnt next to or looking at morrie.

Cyrus felt nervous about this event, but curious too. He headed into the classroom, relieved to see Naveen. He made a beeline for his friend, sitting down next to him. Only then did he survey the room. He smiled at Sunday, but scanned the room for Sunny. He felt a flicker of disappointment when he saw she wasn't there. Maybe she would still show up?

@Naveen Khatri

Sunny had thought that a game of spin the bottle was a dumb idea and had only decided to show up to see if Cyrus would be there. When she spotted him, she pursed her lips then masked her fury with a blinding smile. “Fancy seeing you here,” She said to him. She smiled at Naveen too, then sat on the free cushion on the other side of Cyrus.

Fiona didn't know if this was a good or bad idea. To be honest, the Gryffindor hadn't even thought about romance or even considered it. She contemplated whether she wanted to even go when she had heard through her classmates that there was a spin the bottle. Fiona thought about it for ages until she decided to join in on the game. Fiona slowly walked into the room, noticing a few of her classmates around, before grabbing an available spot.
