At seven o’clock on a Saturday night, most eighteen year olds would be shimmying into their cocktail dresses, strapping on their stiletto heels and plumping up their lips with a ruby red lip stain. Indianna Grace Lee was a grounded exception, or at least tonight she was. The couch seemingly her only company as she curled her diminutive body up against its cushioned arm with a book in hand. There was not a stitch of makeup on her face, she wore nothing but a pair of socks on her feet and the curves of her petite frame had been swallowed up whole by her lover’s sweater. She buried her nose into the woolen threads of the sleeve as her gaze followed the printed words, inhaling the heart-warmingly familiar smell with every breath that she took. Sam’s quidditch commitments had meant that he was out of town again this weekend. Although it was a common occurrence, it was never a lengthy one and by tomorrow night she would be in his arms again. That was not to say she didn’t miss him though.

Thus partially as a distraction from the lonely abode, but for the most part because she had missed them, Indianna had invited Jenn and Audrey over for a girls night in. Despite the fact that the pair of blondes had yet to meet, or as far as Indi was concerned anyway, she was certain they’d would get along famously. Between being laden with exhaustive shifts at work and spending the majority of what free time she was allotted with her beloved boyfriend of two years, the former Ravenclaw had not been spared much of a chance to broaden her socialisation beyond the British borders. In fact, she struggled to recall the last time she had spent a night with her girls; the memories came up foggy each time she tried. So naturally, Indi was incredibly excited. She had managed to duck out of the clinic during her lunch break today and snatched up a few goodies for the occasion; a selection of rom-coms, bucketloads of sickly sweet treats and, of course, ingredients for every cocktail imaginable. One never would have picked her enthusiasm that laid dormant beneath her calm facade, but at every moment Indi was waiting in expectance for a knock upon the door.

[yuck. i'm so rusty, sorry!]

Jennifer needed time away from her roommates. It was no secret to her that siblings fought but this fight was endless between the two blondes and she found herself quickly tired of it, even if she, too, was angry at Riley. There was only so much you could do or say before you could accept it because whether she or Kalani liked it their friend, her sister, was having a baby. It did put their team behind because Riley was a seeker so she was frustrated because the new girl wasn't working well as Riley did for the team. Her friend was just a perfect fit but they had to make due. Not that the girl wasn't a talented seeker, she just wasn't Jenn or the other girl's first choice. With this frustration she was glad when Indianna had called her, suggesting a girls night in. It had been so long since she had seen her foreign-tongued friend. The last time she had seen her was during her first game versus Sam which had been quite interesting because the two had always worked together. But it was clear that both of the former Hufflepuffs were perfect where they were right now, or it seemed this way. Time zones and distances didn't help very much when trying to connect with one another but when they did they could pick up just where they left off and as Jenn scrapped her blonde hair into a pony tail she hoped it was the same for her and Indi.

Feeling a little lazy and generally not in the mood to make any sort of effort Jenn didn't put any make up on, not even any chapstick so she felt a little strange as she looked in the mirror but shrugged it off as she looked at the top. A smile crossed her lips as she remembered the last time she had worn it. It had been during Christmas after she and Amy had spent some quality time together and even if the smell of her girlfriend had since worn off it was a nice memory but she shrugged it off, trying to keep herself from blushing before she apparated out of her apartment and into England outside Sam and Indi's home that she had not actually been to yet. Jenn looked down at the note she had scribbled down with the address on it and then scanned the area for proof of the address and when she found it she sighed in relief before knocking on the door three times.

[Don't worry about it, I'm poop as Jenn lately too.]

Audrey Love was ready to see her best friend in the entire world. It had been ages since their last visit so she was excited when she got the message from Indiana saying that she wanted a girls' night. That was perfectly fine with the eighteen year old. Audrey had been working extremely hard, trying to get into the music business. Her dream had always been to be a singer and a performer. The blonde had a voice like an angel and the personality to command attention on a stage. Audrey had been making progress though in the right direction. She had recorded a single, and it was supposed to debut in two months. The young woman was looking forward to that. Audrey had also been selected for an opener to a major artist. She would be performing on a big stage for eight whole months. The phone call had come that morning breaking the news to her. Audrey was thrilled and couldn't wait to tell her best friend.

Audrey Marie did not dress up to go see her friend. Instead, she pulled on a loose, off the shoulder t-shirt with a pair of dark denim skinny jeans. Lastly, she slipped on her favorite pair of Converse tennis shoes. Of course, the overall effect was still dazzlingly beautiful, not that Audrey really could control that. It was the nature of what she was, one half veela. The young blonde woman knew it was something Indiana had long since accepted about her. What she didn't know was if Indi's friend would be as excepting. Half-breeds were not always accepted by a select few of the wizarding community. Audrey didn't give it a thought though as she left her sister's house, calling out a good bye. Audrey apparated to Sam and Indi's place, having only been there a handful of times since the couple had moved in together. As she walked up to the door, Audrey saw another girl, about their age already knocking on the door. Audrey walked up behind her trying not to startle her. She smiled at the unfamiliar girl. "Hey, you must be Jennifer. I'm Audrey." she said with a bright smile.

As an undertow of anticipation swept through her, plaguing her tiny body, Indianna skimmed her gaze across a simply structured sentence once. Upon realising all she had done was merely consolidate the characters, not comprehended their meaning as she had been intending to do, the girl went over it a second time and then a third. But the brewing excitement of finally seeing two girls so very near and dear to her heart rendered Indianna capable of thinking about much else. A gentle sigh was whisked up from the British Latina as she made a mental note of the page she had fallen stuck on and flipped the book shut. Her affinity for reading never came quite as easily as it once had but that was something Indi was more than willing to sacrifice if it meant anchoring herself to this point in her lifetime. Oftentimes she still had to pinch herself. Considering the hardships Indi and her mother had experienced several years ago, it was boggling to think how she had even gotten this far. But here she was, set out on a career path she adored, deeply in love with her long-term boyfriend and supported by friends and family that she could not express her gratitude enough. It seemed as if goods things really did come to those who waited.

At the sound of a knock reverberating throughout her home, Indianna perked up in her seat before flinging herself off the longue and towards the front door that she was expecting either Jenn or Audrey to be waiting behind. But as the eighteen year old swept the door back on its hinges to reveal not one but both of the blondes, Indianna could not suppress her squeal of excitement. “Jenn!” She exclaimed, as she threw herself at the taller of the two, limbs flying this way and that as she encompassed her friend in a brief but secure embrace before turning to the second girl and wrapping around her with just as much enthusiasm. “Audrey! I’ve missed you guys like crazy.” Satisfied by the long overdue hug, Indi stepped away and instead led her friends excitedly inside, entangling one hand with each girl’s. “What’s been happening? Tell me everything A delighted smile graced her lush lips as her eyes darted between her two friends, desperate to know what she had missed out on in their lives and hoping that there was possibly some way to make up for her lack of presence there. But as her gleaming orbs pressed for the news Indi was sure they’d have to share, she realised that the two weren’t even acquainted yet. “Oh, wait! Jenn, Audrey. Audrey, Jenn.” Seemingly pleased with her brief introductions, the eighteen year old nodded at her pair of friends before her with a sunny grin. They had the entire night ahead of them to get to know each other after all, Indianna of course would be the catalyst for that. “Ok, now go.”

[wow. apologising in advance for every single one of my posts.]

Jenn nearly jumped when she heard someone speak from right behind her but let out a deep breath before realizing what they just said. She turned to face her, immediately blindsided by the outstanding beauty that this girl was. The way her blonde hair fell around her face and how it dragged your eye down her slim body was enough for the quidditch player to flinch. She had a girlfriend, a gorgeous one, that she had written to only an hour ago but still there was a feeling in the pit of her stomach that made her attracted to the blonde but was thankfully distracted by her dear friend Indianna. Instantly the feeling left her, leaving behind traces of guilt for starring at the girl as she had, but fought it as she hugged one of her dear friends. "Indi! I've missed you!" she said quickly as her tongue would let her without tumbling over it. As their hug ended, Jenn glanced at Audrey as the two hugged, feeling that terrible sick again and wondered what was wrong with her. She couldn't have been happier in her relationship with Amaryllis so she truly didn't understand where this was coming from but thankfully she was distracted by Indi again as she took her hand and led her into the home.

As the Latina zoomed through her words Jenn couldn't help but chuckle, even more so at the brief introductions. "Well I've just been writing Amy a lot and working. I'm trying to avoid the apartment if I'm being totally honest," she said with a slight shrug of her shoulders. "Riley's pregnant and crying all the time. You should see her and Lani together, it's rather horrible and I'm in the middle of all their fights. I thought about begging Hogwarts to take me back," she admitted, ending that on a chuckle hoping that the news wouldn't be too much of a shock before realizing that she should probably explain a little bit to Audrey. "Riley and Lani are my roommates," she said with a nod of her head. Jenn didn't tell Indi that Amaryllis might be moving in with her come July but there would be room for that later, when she knew how Riley was going to handle everything because she and Amy would need their peace and not to be woken up all the time because of a child, or feel bad because they didn't want to play with a baby when they wanted to spend time together or even worse not want to spend time with it because no matter how much they loved each other they would never have a baby together and so far, Amy was the only one she would have eventually considered it with. But now wasn't the time nor the place to think about that. "What about you?" she asked with a grin, hoping to Merlin that Indi wasn't pregnant.

Audrey grinned at her best friend as the door swung open to reveal the petite brunette who was the opposite of Audrey in nearly every way. The blonde hugged the girl back enthusiastically as she spoke with excited tones. "I know!! I missed you! It's been wayyy too long!" Audrey exclaimed before releasing her friend. Indi grabbed her hand and Jenn's hand, leading them into the home that she was sharing with her boyfriend. Audrey laughed as Indianna demanded that her pair of friends tell her about the details of their lives. Indi paused briefly to introduce the girls. Audrey turned to Jenn, a smile on her face. "It's a pleasure to meet you." the young woman said politely. For once, Audrey remained silent, allowing Jenn to fill Indi in first. Audrey listened with polite interest, her green eyes shimmering in the pale light. The part-veela girl did not really know what, or who, Jenn was speaking about, though the names Lani and Riley sounded sort of familiar. It seemed that there was a lot going on in the stranger's life. All pretty hectic really.

As the other girl seemingly finished with all she was going to say, a sly smile crept up into the corners of Audrey Love's perfectly pink lips. "Oh you know, nothing too much. Just a meeting here, or a meeting there. A few sessions in the recording studio, working on an album." she said, trying to sound nonchalant. The girl's emerald green eyes twinkled with the exciting news she was keeping back from her friend. "My first single comes out next month!" she said, grinning ear to ear. "It's finally happening!! I brought a copy to play for you but it's not a finalized version." she said, excitement bubbling out of her. "I'm trying to get into the music business, singer slash songwriter slash musician." she explained to Jenn with a smile. The blonde was finally doing it. Her manager was extremely enthusastic and positive about this single. He seemed to think Audrey could be the "next big thing" and she was fairly certain she agreed. "But enough about me. I want to know what's up with you Indi?" Audrey said, truly interested in her friend's life.

“What?!” Riley was pregnant? Indianna clapped a hand over her mouth to literally stop the exclamation she had made in its path and only after having been shocked into silence, she let Jenn continue on without interruption. Though her hazel eyes remained wide with surprise and fixated upon her friend as if she doubted that she wasn’t just yanking her chain. Despite the tension tied between her and Sam’s ex, Indi wouldn’t hesitate to admit that Riley was an intelligent girl and from what she had heard, at a point in her life very similar to her own. A steady relationship, a career path she loved, friends and family at her fingertips; surely she wouldn’t purposefully throw all that away by deciding to have a baby now. But that thought only seemed to frighten Indianna intently, the fact that if it had happened to someone like Riley, it could happen to practically anyone. Of course, she and Sam were very thorough when it came to contraception, they always had been but was that even enough anymore? Apparently not. Her sympathy for Riley and Will was immense, she couldn’t even begin to imagine how they would be feeling but at the very same time was extremely grateful that she wasn’t the one that was pregnant.

Despite the newfound fear that had taken her over, Indi giggled pleasantly at Jenn’s comment about Hogwarts. If only they’d known how easy they’d had it whilst they had been within the castle’s walls. “Well, you know you’re always welcome here if it ever gets unbearable.” She of all people knew what it was like to be in the midst of Riley’s wrath and by doubling that with Kalani’s, Indi wasn’t sure how her friend was coping? A grin spread right across the brunette’s lips, the corners of which turned further upwards as she added, “And Amy as well! Gosh, you two are the cutest. I am, from this moment, claiming a front row seat to your wedding, m’kay?” And just to solidify her reservation, the Latina gave a sweet nod before tuning in to what news Audrey had to share with her.

At Audrey’s aloof tone, Indi was well and truly settled in for the “same old” speech – something she wouldn’t complain about given the shocking news she had just been told. But the residual fear of the thought of Riley’s delicate state was quickly forgotten as Audrey mentioned a recording studio. Her hand clasped over her mouth once more but this time for a reason that was situated on the opposite end of the spectrum as Indi waited with baited breath to hear the words she was waiting for. "My first single comes out next month!" A delighted squeal erupted from Indianna and on her tip-toes she bounced with excitement straight into Audrey’s arms to congratulate her. “Oh my god! Congratulations, Aud!” She grinned and squeezed her petite arms around the blonde’s cinched waist. “I knew it! I knew they’d sign you!” As Indi pulled away and smiled up into Audrey’s stunning green eyes, she couldn’t help but feel an overwhelming sense of pride for her best friend. Right from the very beginning of their friendship, Audrey had always been the one that had shone, the one that had the courage to throw herself out there, the one that boys had flocked to and Indianna had known it wasn’t her Veela blood that could be held accountable. There was always something else there. And of course, being the shy, socially reserved schoolgirl, Indi had not minded in the least. “I can’t wait to hear it! But I think I’m already your official number one fan.” She giggled truthfully.

With all the news that buzzed around her, no one could exactly blame Indianna for not wanting to talk about herself. Her own life was cleansed of drama, barely interesting enough for a mention but it was only fair. “Well, actually,” the girl began, her Derbyshire accent with its traceable hints of French, New Zealander and Spanish transformed into one that was moulded poshly around the Queen’s English. “We were going to wait until we were together to tell you this, but Samuel and I are expecting triplets in the fall.” Indianna’s hands fell to her abdomen; its figure lost beneath the bagginess of her boyfriend’s sweater on her slight frame and rubbed it fondly, just as expectant mothers would do. Of course, Indianna wasn’t really pregnant and managed a straight face for only a few moments longer before breaking down the act into giggles. Indi did want to have children one day and she would be lying if she said she hadn’t thought about them being Sam’s but that was something that seemed like lightyears from now. And after having been told what she had been today, joking about the matter seemed the only was to brush it off the surface of her worrisome shoulders. The brunette shook her head at her friends hopelessly with a giddy smile upon her face. “But seriously, same old, same old. Being back in England is great, my job’s great, Sam’s great. I mean, I’ve never been happier, but my life’s nothing too interesting.” She shrugged her petite shoulders in light of the sincerity of her words before smiling slyly. “But now that you guys are here we can spice it up a little. Cocktails?”
