A large grandstand stood to the right of the judging platform, both of which faced the entrance of the cave the champions would be entering. The cave had been enchanted to mimic certain spells outside the cave for the viewing of the panelists. Lumos would create sun-bright light outside the cave. Sparks would appear outside the cave as well. Any offence spells used would be spelled out in words above the entrance of the cave. It was to be quite the spectacle. This task was also protected more than it likely needed to be. Only students and staff, along with known guests, had been portkeyed to this undisclosed, unplottable location deep in France to watch the events of the day unfold.

Trilby had never minded the sensation that travelling by portkey gave, not many enjoyed it but once you got the hang of it, it really wasn't so bad. She arrived in a standing position, poised and graceful looking as always issuing orders for students to head directly to the stands that were before them. Assisting the younger students who had landed on their stomachs or backs, to stand once more.

She did not see Sebastian in all the maniacal commotion that seemed to be surrounding this particular task. The three schools were on the edge of their seats having debated amongst themselves relentlessly about what it could contain. All she could see from here was a cave and frowned before heading herself up to the stands and taking a seat to watch the proceedings. Clapping when the Beauxbatons champion moved forward to enter the cave.

The weather was brutal, cold and miserable and yet they insisted on taking the students and other guests far off to look at some dingy cave that looked for all the world as if it were made of ice. Alex frown as he settled himself after the port key trip, looking about he could only smile as he saw Trilby directing others to the stands and saluting her he went on ahead to get himself a relatively good seat.

He stuffed his hands into his pockets and pulled his navy beanie cap lower over his ears. It was going to be a long day if they were to suffer the cold while they awaited the outcome. He really hoped their own champion did a damn sight better this time around, there was no place for second place in his view and as much as he thought the Durmstrang girl gorgeous, he was not going to cheer for her. With that being said he stood up and made a grand production of clapping and cheering as Aubrey entered the cave.

They really make it difficult to spectate, don't they? thought Sergei with a quirk of his eyebrow as he went to sit with Aaliiyah - making up the Durmstrang supporters. All they had to look at was a cave - it wasn't as though they were treated to anything exciting. Of course, what was going on in the cave was probably very exciting indeed but it wasn't as though they actually got to see it, so it kind of defeated the purpose. Oh well, he supposed all he could do was cheer on Moko and hope she did just as well as last time. Knowing her, she would, naturally.

He looked out for Christelle in the stands but couldn't see her, so he merely sat there, bored, wishing he had Sera for company so they could talk and laugh and crack jokes. Sighing, he waited to see what would happen.

Sophie was outside the cave with the other students, curious, she hoped of course as well as all the other Beauxbaton students that their champion would win this challenge. She issued out some orders, and issuing the younger students and the guests to their stands, she finally sat herself, waiting for some more orders of the Headmaster.

Her eyes were riveted on the cave, and she was waiting for the champions to enter, as they did, she hoped more than enough that their champion would do well.

Link sat at the far side of the stands. This time he had to bare the fact that he was sitting along side of another BB students. If anyone should be sitting next to him would be Zoii and possibly Aaliyah. He recognize her the first day he enter his name in the goblet of fire. He just hadn't acknowledge her since than, what for? He had no business with his distant cousin's friend. Maybe a good time or something to kick boredom. He could just imagine it but than his eyes flutter when he was easily distracted. The second task was slowly unfolding but the championships hadn't enter the caves yet. Link looked up towards the other side of the stands to search for that girl he met just a week ago. Maybe he would have some this time with her had his side. Toy and make a few comments about her school. Though his eyes concluded that he couldn't find her. Link turn direction back towards the competition. Maybe later he could accidentally bump into her or something.

As Sebastian's legs hit the ground, he bent them bracing himself for impact. Glancing around, Sebastian could see nothing but a cave and he wondered what the task was going to be. The students had spent most of their time since the last task speculating what the task would be, but Sebastian couldn't recall hearing anyone mention a cave.

Making his way to the stands slowly, Sebastian arrived in time to hear the headmaster beginning to explain the task. It all sounded interesting, and Bas couldn't wait to see how the enchantments would work to let them see. He surely hoped that Aubrey would win this event because that Durmstrang girl had shown everything that she was in it to win it. Glancing around the stands, Sebastian spotted Alexius and nodded his head toward him before dropping down beside Trilby to watch Aubrey get ready to head in.

Turning her head she was surprised to see Sebastian beside her and inwardly groaned. This would only mean that Clemence would be sitting with him as well. She smiled at him before turning her gaze back to the cave looking for some sign of a spell that their champion might have cast. Aubrey should surely be well and truly inside the cavern by now and Trilby found herself glad once more that she had not been old enough to put her name forward.

"Looking forward to exams?" she smiled at him, not wanting to mention the up coming Yule Ball as she remembered their dancing lessons the year before and how she had hurt herself. The memory brought a smile to her lips though. Everyone was talking about the ball and she sighed, no doubt he was taking the always terrified looking Clemence. She could not fathom what he saw in the girl but that was his own business and she did not have to like his girlfriends as he similarly did not have to like Xavier. The thought of him now interupting her thoughts gave her mixed feelings, he had not written in some time but they had met up just a few days before.

Refusing to think about it at all she smiled again at Sebastian awaiting a reply.

Gabrielle was a little surprised that no one had been seriously injured or killed yet, she had read that this was an extremely dangerous tournament and came down to see some action. Then again it was just the beginning of the task so there was still plenty more fun to be seen if she stuck around the whole time unlike last time where she found herself growing bored about halfway through. Sitting down gently she smoothed out her skirt and sighed, none of her friends ever came down to see the tournament so she was often alone and a big miffed that they had no sense of adventure or fun. 'Hmm..I nearly forgot she went here.' Gabrielle raised an eyebrow when she caught sight of Trilby, a Prefect that was a year below her and was currently dating her moron of a twin brother. Rolling her ice blue eyes she flicked some of her blonde hair out of her face, she decided to ignore her and the guy she was talking to because she felt no need to be worried for her brothers relationships issues. It wasn't like she cared what happened to him in his life, he ruined her crush so she might as well just forget on the idea of ever helping him.

"I should have brought a sweater." Gabrielle shivered and rubbed her hands against one another, she wasn't going to last long like this so who knew if she was going to be able to see all of the champions go this time either.

Cynthia walked up and took a seat amongst the stands as she began to watch the first of the competitors enter the icy cave "Whoo! Cynthia called out as she pushed her way to the front of the stands "Come on Cave! Momma want's to see some blood!" Cynthia said with glee as she thought about what a great article it would be if someone actually died in the Tri-wizard tournament she could see it now, pictures of the poor crowd as they watched some mutilated body being pulled from the cave several eye witness testimonies on how the ministry did nothing to save the poor champions, it would all be too perfect. "Let's go Cave! You know you want to chop em up to little bits!" Cynthia said with more enthusiasm as she looked around and smiled at a few of the other spectators.

Gaston made his way down to the second TWT task. He was very anxious today, as he had been for the last one. He knew Moko was out there risking her life doing Merlin only knows. As he sat in the stands he struggled to see if he could catch a glimpse of the girl that had caught his attention so. As the task started Gaston cheered for Aubrey, of course he would seeing as she was his school's champion. Although unlike most of the other Durmstrang champion he too cheered for Moko, more so than he had for Aubrey. As he watched Moko enter the cave he hoped that whatever she would face in there she would be save. As the task continued Gaston became distracted by an older woman shouting, her words were starting to annoy him. How could someone be so cruel! He thought. At her last comment Gaston had had enough. "Shut up you vile woman! Have some respect for the Champions." he said, his voice darker than he had ever heard it.

Mia made her way down to the TWT second task along with everyone else. The girl didn't really have any friends so she sat by herself, reading one of her many books as she waited for the task to start. Closing her book over a bit she listened to her Headmaster start the Tournament. When he gave the signal for the task to start Mia cheered for Aubrey hoping she would succeed better in this task then in the last one, Beauxbatons needed more points if they were going to win. As she watched the 7th year enter the cave she frowned her eyebrows, there was no way they were going to be able to cheer the champions on if there were in a cave. Sighing she went back to her book until something exciting happened.

Only Tril can think of exams at a time like this, Sebastian thought to himself as he head Trilby's question. Here they were waiting for the second task to begin and she was asking him about exams he didn't want to think about. "Only because it will mean that I can drop Astronomy" Sebastian said with a smirk. "You?"

Turning his head as he heard a commotion, Sebastian stared at the reporter woman as she screamed for blood. As excited as Sebastian was for this task to begin, he certainly didn't want to see anyone injured. "Whoa...somebody's a little overexcited" Sebastian muttered to Trilby. A guy, who he knew to be one of the seventh years though he didn't know his name, yelled back at her and Sebastian turned back to Trilby, his eyebrows raised.

In truth Trilby Kiedis was not just thinking about exams but on everything and anything she could possibly think of, anything that would not let her mind drift away to other things. She looked at a couple of students giggling and holding hands and hurriedly glanced away. Knowing full well that if Clemence now came and herself and Sebastian were to behave that way in front of her, she would probably break down in a flood of tears. She had not cried once yet, had not given herself the satisfaction. Gazing out over the cavern she ignored the stupid woman who shouted so vulgarly, it was her job only to keep the students in line not the deplorable guests. And though usually she would have said something to remonstrate Gaston, she refused to do so now.

The rumor mill being as it was in this school had spread the story that Gaston and Moko the Durmstrang champion were an item, he had every right to be mad and defend her. Trilby was beginning to choke up slowly though, her throat constricting painfully as she could feel her eyes slowly welling up. Standing up hurriedly she excused herself and apologizing brushed passed Sebastian and the others in the row she had chosen to sit on. Her feet could not carry her enough as she ran down the steps of the stands and standing around the corner from them, she pulled out a hanky and let the tears finally fall.

Alexius Strauss nodded at Sebastian as he sat down and couldn't help but glance at Trilby and frown a little. He was surprised to find her up here actually, he had bumped into her late yesterday evening and even then she had been drawn and haggard and obviously upset about something. He didn't have the same finesse as his brother for charming women into relating all their worries to him and he hadn't even been sure if he had wanted to know but he had asked all the same and for the first time in all their years at the school, she had confided in him. She was obviously desperate of course otherwise the aloof prefect wouldn't have opened her mouth to him.

He gave her a friendly smile wishing he had sat beside her now to show some solidarity or something. Glancing away again he rolled his eyes as some woman began to shout, he didn't mind people shouting he could do it with the best of them but what he did mind was listening to positive crap spewing from a grown woman. Granted she was hot but she was old... well, older at any rate. About to turn back to applaud Gaston, he watched Trilby get up from her seat and leave. He looked at Sebastian wondering if he knew that herself and Xavier had broken up or if the guy would even be interested now. Climbing over the bench and pushing aside the guy beside Sebastian with a cheeky grin he plonked himself down.
"Man are you going after her or do I have too?" he asked him, actually looking at his watch and knowing it was never good to leave a girl boil over with wrought emotion for too long, "they broke up." he whispered to him before glancing back at the cavern.

"Zat 'orrible woman eez here again," Emmanuelle muttered to herself as she took a seat in the stands for the second task of the TriWizard Tournament. She was taking every opportunity she could to speak English, but that stubborn accent of hers kept getting in the way. Emmanuelle actually looked quite demure for a change, adorned in her Beauxbatons uniform with a pale blue and silver hair ribbon. Her nails were blue, however, in honour of her school. Though it all seemed rather pointless, the champions were going in to a cave so it wasn't as though they could see them. Nevertheless, she still cheered. "Allez! Allez! Aubrey!" She looked at the person she was sitting next to - one of the Durmstrang students, and smiled, before sitting back to read. It was good she'd brought a book, if they weren't going to be able to see anything. "I 'ope she can keep her mouth closed. She eez annoying."

Sebastian was utterly confused when Trilby jumped up and hurried past him. His eyes followed her descent as she seemingly ran away from him and the second task. He thought back to what he had said and didn't think that he'd said anything that might have offended her in anyway unless she had a love for astronomy that he never knew about. He also didn't think that the reporter lady's talking could have been the cause of her being so upset. It was true that her words were harsh but they were not directed at Trilby, so he doubted that she would have cared enough to become this upset.

When Alexius dropped into the seat that Trilby had vacated, Sebastian looked at him, his brows close together indicating that he knew he was missing something, but what exactly it was was beyond him. Before he could even get a word out, Alexius indicated pointedly what Sebastian should be doing. "Of course. I just wish..." he began about to add that he wished he knew what was bothering her when Alex told him. Sebastian's eyes widened. Trilby hadn't given him any indication that she and Xavier had been having even a bit of trouble. It bothered him a bit that Alex would know something like that and he wouldn't. As far as he knew, Trilby and Alex barely got along let alone shared secrets.

Standing up, Sebastian patted Alexius on the shoulder. "Thanks for letting me know" he said as he made his way past him and the others in the row and down the steps. As he reached the bottom, Sebastian glanced around, wondering where she had gotten to and saw her. She hadn't gone very far at all, but was simply standing around the corner crying. He hated seeing girls cry, not that he'd ever come across many, but it still made him feel horribly inadequate. He never seemed to know what to say or what to do.

He stood idly by for a second glancing at Trilby awkwardly, noise erupting behind him as one of the champions apparently did something. Walking slowly toward her, all of the noise that was going on due to the event dropped into the background for him as he focused his attention on his very best friend. Sebastian did the one thing he thought might help her, if even just a little. He wrapped Trilby into a hug and let her keep crying. "It'll be ok Tril" he murmured as he held her. A bunch of emotions were coursing through him at the moment, but he pushed them to the side for the moment, knowing that this wasn't about him just now. It wasn't even about the second task, which was continuing behind them, the noise of the crowd drowning out any noise from Trilby's crying. It was about helping Trilby deal.

She was feeling a lot of emotions that she should have let out sooner but had not had the chance. When she had returned from New Zealand, it was to bump into Alexius of all people. A boy who aggravated her no end but who had offered her his shoulder none the less. She had not broken down in tears then but had been too numbed to do much else other than spill her heart out. Her angry, frustrated heart.

Wiping the tears furiously from her face she knew crying here was not the proper place but it would have been much worse if she had broken down up in the stands. Before she knew it though familiar arms were about her and she rested her head on his shoulder, her hands automatically wrapping around his waist as the tears poured down. Eventually they did stop, small little trickles all that remained and slight hiccups to add to her embarrassed state. Moving her head from it's perch on his shoulder she looked up at him, red puffy eyes and slightly reddened nose but still managing to look utterly adorable in the process.

"Thank ... you... Sebastian" she tried to smile but lowered her face instead, "I am stupid. I ... am the most foolish girl I know."
She berated herself, "I went to see him all that way and all he wanted to do was break up with me."

Cynthia ignored the little children as she leaned over and stared at the cave. "I'm never going to get a good story if you don't do something interesting!" Cynthia yelled at the cave as she sat down. "They just aren't planning these tournament's like they used to I guess" Cynthia said with a bit of a tiff as she pulled out a mirror and began fixing her make up. "I mean honestly how are we supposed to enjoy a tournament if we can't even see what's going on and then there's not even any blood and gore to gawk at" Cynthia said to herself as she fixed her lipstick and put the mirror away. "Ready to continue cheering!" Cynthia said with a smile as she stood up and turned back towards the cave "Come on! She's laughing at you! Break an Arm or a Leg! or at least cut off some hair!" Cynthia said as she continued trying to give the blasted cave some advice waiting and watching like a hawk for any sparks to appear.

Sebastian patted Trilby's back as she continued to cry. When she looked up at him, a small sympathetic grin crossed Bas's face as he gazed down at the redness in her eyes and on her face. He only caught a glimpse of her face though before she hid it from him by looking away so that she could explain to him what happened. Sebastian's eyes narrowed as he listened. He'd always known Xavier was nothing but a big flirt and had even tried to tell Trilby that, but of course she hadn't listened. She'd been too lost to Xavier's smooth talk and the good looks that all of the girls said he had. Sebastian didn't quite see what any of them saw in him.

"Trilby...there is nothing stupid about you. You're one of the smartest people I know" Sebastian began easily, but then things grew difficult. "Any guy would be lucky to be with you. Xavier..." is an idiot "doesn't know what he's missing out on." Sebastian was struggling now. Most of the time Sebastian thought he did a pretty good job at hiding his feelings for Trilby, but this conversation was challenging all of his feelings. Besides, it wasn't as if he was going to act out on those feelings. For one thing, he and Trilby had just gotten their friendship back to normal. And, he had Clemence to consider. He'd asked her to the Yule ball, which he still hadn't told Trilby, and he really liked her. "C'mon Tril...don't cry" he said, brushing his thumb against her cheek to wipe some of the tears away and feeling confused.

Clemence was on cloud nine knowing that there was a chance that Sebastian liked her, he had asked her to the Yule Ball after all. That certainly meant something, but being new to these emotions gave the young gymnast nothing short of confusion. She had asked her sisters what this meant, but both broke out in giggles and said that they would lend her a dress for the ball because she did not own one, well one that would look nice for the Yule Ball and something about Sebastian made her want to look nice for him.

This cloud she was floating on, led Clemence to actually go to the second task just to see her crush a little excited about the TriWizard Tournament which amused her highly but as she came across a pair standing very close to one another she nearly rolled her eyes before she realized that the English speaking pair were Sebastian Rossi and Trilby Kiedis. An wide range of emotions that Clemence had never experienced before rushed through her and made her cheeks red. In broken French she swore past them, moving fast enough that she was hopeful that they hadn't noticed her.

Clemence had kept her hopes high and here she was, at the TriWizard Tournament, dejected and rejected. The blonde girl plopped down on a seat and curled into her own body sadly. "I should have known that Sebastian was giving me pity. I'm such an idiot!" she said to herself in her mother tongue and too quickly to have it at all understandable to someone who knew every word in her language.

Trilby sighed and shook her head, that was just it wasn't it? She was too smart, too clever, too intelligent and what boy could possibly want that? She had only felt beautiful whenever she had been around Sebastian or Xavier and with her friendship with her best friend still precarious and now her relationship with Xavier in tatters, she didn't think it was possible for her to ever feel beautiful again.

"No boy wants me Sebastian" she wiped the tears away completely, startled for a moment when someone rushed passed but she hadn't seen who it was. Embarrassed now that someone would have caught her in this condition she lowered her head letting the sniffles subside.
"Sorry I didn't mean for you to see me like this, you best go. I'm sure ... she's waiting for you" she of course meant Clemence and noticed herself how she bristled at the girls name, Trilby knew she should move away from the safety and security of Sebastian's arms but she couldn't, just another moment surely couldn't hurt anyone?

As someone rushed past the two of them, Bas figured that something exciting must have happened back at the cave. He longed to find out what was going on with the task, but knew that he could just ask Alex or someone else later. Listening to Trilby, Sebastian began to shake his head and disagree with her statement that nobody wanted her. It was utter rubbish. He knew plenty of guys, himself and Alexius included, who would fight it out for a chance to be with her.

Before he could say anything, though, she continued and the expression on Sebastian's face flickered with annoyance. Since when had Clemence become she to Trilby, and it certainly wasn't a normal she either. It was one of the ones girls used when they didn't particularly like the person they were talking about. As far as he knew, the girls got along fairly well, but he was obviously missing something.

"Yea...Clemence probably is waiting for me" he stated. "but I don't just want to leave you here. Are you sure you want me to go?" he asked, confused now as it seemed she wanted him to go away now even though she was still holding onto him.

She pushed away from him then, their friendship had gone through enough already without her distraught mixed up feelings causing her any more pain or embarrassment. Clemence had taken over where Trilby once had been in his life, she did matter to him any more. She could tell that he was itching to get back to the tournament and itching to find Clemence and obviously itching to be away from her. Standing as straight as she possibly could and smoothing out the creases in her uniform she looked away for a moment.

She had nothing personal against the girl, though for some reason Clemence had always behaved like a stupid little mouse whenever Trilby was around. To Trilby it had all been just a girlish ploy to win over the boys feelings, to garner the male ego into feeling protective of her and it so obviously had worked on Sebastian. Well he could have her and Xavier could have whoever it was that he had fallen for. She didn't need any of them or so she would try to convince herself.

"Don't ... don't do that Sebastian. You have barely spent five minutes with me all semester because you've been wrapped up with her. Every time I have gone to find you or simply talk with you, you've been with her. So go to her now because it is very clear you are uncomfortable here ... with me" she turned then and began to walk at a hurried pace away from him not sure where she was going but anywhere was preferential to standing there in his arms when he clearly wanted them around someone else.

Sebastian simply watched Trilby mouth wide open in surprise as she pushed away from here and told him off. Her words stung him and he could tell that she'd been holding all of that back for quite a while now. "Trilby...c'mon. Trilby!" he called to her as she hurried away from him.

With a sigh of frustration, Sebastian punched the side of the bleachers where they had been standing. It did nothing but make his hand hurt as much as his head. He didn't know what she expected from him. How was he to know that her and Xavier would be broken up? Did she really expect him to wait for her when she'd made it clear that friends was all they needed to be? It was true that he'd been hanging around Clemence lately, but it didn't mean that she had replaced Trilby as his best friend. Why didn't she get that?

In a daze, Sebastian walked back toward the staircase to head back up to his seat. Glancing at the sky above the cave, Sebastian saw the word Protego spell itself out, which was followed not long after by a bright white light indicating that Aubrey had just used the Lumos spell. She seemed to be doing ok, but Sebastian was still utterly lost about what was happening in the task among other things. Halfway up the steps, Sebastian caught a glimpse of Clemence and a smile crossed his face for a second before quickly turning to a frown. She didn't look too happy and Sebastian wondered why she was so upset. Guess I'm not meant to watch this task, Sebastian thought to himself as he dropped into the seat next to her. "C? What's wrong?" he asked, worry furrowing his brows.
