Turquoise walked into the great hall with her arm locked with her sister, they wern't completely identical but they were definetly sister, she heard Lilac whisper into her ear and she snickered she had mentioned something about the hat needed a new look, the other students swarmed around them and one of them bumped her she hissed at the kid and remembered her face, she was in her punk mode today which her mother didn't want, she knew that her daughters both had different directions they acted and she hoped they would make a good impression with their nicer sides but she didn't seem to get her way.

Turquoise whispered back to Lilac mentioning that half the staff could use a new look the robes looked like the colour was sucked out of them and they were made from velvet. She unlinked her arm when her sister got called, she heard some commotion towards her name and rolled her eyes, their mother had some serious problems when she decided to name them.

Not long after Turquoise was called and she walked up to the stood and sat on it with the hat placed on her head she giggled 'A Ribbon would be nice' she thought looking at her sister at the Slytherin table she gave her a wave before pursing her lips slightly 'Be Decent please' she said knowing the hat would decide her fate in this school, her split personality might cause the hat some problem, she hoped she would be with her sister. Turq brushed the purple tips of her hair out of her face , the hair change was a rebellion from her mother last day before she left she couldn't help herself. Turq continued to wait.

"You'll find the next 7 years will be full of adventure, even if you're not in the same house as your sister. GRYFFINDOR!"

Dante had to admit that this was probably one of those rare times when he was nervous. Having 'R' as the beginning of his last name wasn't very good, since now he spent most of his time watching other students get sorting and running off to various tables. He was currently standing amongst a bunch of students that were all waiting to be sorted, just like he was. Having older siblings that had attended Hogwarts New Zealand, Danny knew a little bit about the school, but not much. He had wanted it to be a surprise, and he had never really given the school much thought. His older brother had tried to tell him about his time at this school, but Dante didn't really care for him.

The other children were being called quite quickly, and before Dante knew it, his own name was being called. The feeling of butterflies came to him, and it was a strange feeling. He walked up to the stool and looked at the hat curiously. It looked pretty old, but he simply shrugged it off. It probably was old. His mind was buzzing with questions, but when the hat was placed on his head, he attempted to quieten his curiosity about the place. He made sure to take deep breaths to settle himself and waited quietly for the verdict. Where was he going to sit?

"A Raven in RAVENCLAW!"

Viola wasn't usually nervous. But now. >>breathe Viola<< She would never admit of nervousness to anyone. Her hair was put together in a strict ponytail and her clothes in perfect order for the perfect moment that she'd been waiting for her whole perfect life. She didn't like it but she could actually feel the tickle under her skin and the thickness of the air in the great hall while she was waiting along with the other "new students". >>Where did they all come from? Some of them looked like something... indescribable. Were they in the right place?<< Someone bumped into her and she gave them a freezing look right before the professor called her name. This was it... The moment of truth had come, if she was a failure or a winner. She took a deep breath and then walked up to the seat of display. She imagined herself as a queen getting crowned. That was silly, but helped her to relax and took her mind of her nervousness.

"SLYTHERIN!"

Destery entered the great hall behind a group of first years who were chatting excitedly among themselves. He would have joined in with their conversation but Destery didn't have the kind of self confidence to join in with an already on-going conversation. It didn't help that he still didn't feel entirely confident with speaking English. Being French Canadian the dark haired boy had grown up of speaking almost exclusively French. He was nervous about being thrust into a new country, a new school with a new language but he felt he knew enough to get by until he learnt more. Luckily his last name ended in 'B' so he didn't have too long to wait until his name was called.

Bellamy, Destery

Destery jumped at his name and quickly hurried to take his place on the three legged stool. The hat sunk over his eyes and everything went black. "Er... Mr. Hat could you please sort me quickly so I'm not the center of attention? Please?" he thought as he tapped his foot against the floor nervously as he awaited the announcement that was to come.

"What's wrong with being the center of attention? Let's see what we have here. Lucky for you, this is an easy one...RAVENCLAW!"

Royel Santiago-Cruz was happy he was getting sorted. He had tried to convince Fabio to transfer over, but he had denied his request angrily. That was okay though. Royel had a feeling he would be okay without his older brother. He hoped. Watching other people get sorted made him smile. The smiles, and some frowns, made him happy. These were the kids he would hopefully be graduating with. He was kind of tired though. The ride here had taken a lot of energy out of him. Royel wasn't energetic to begin with, but he did have a certain amount of energy that he would like to last him a whole day. He hoped he got into a house that would make his family proud. His father was not an easy many to please, but getting into a great house would, maybe, fill him with pride. Roy heard his name called, and he quietly walked up to the stool and sat down. He tried to think of something he could say to the hat, but he could think of anything. He crossed his legs as the Hat was placed on his head. "Sorry Mr. Hat, I wish I had something cool to say to you. This is the only time I will encounter you." he thought politely. Royel closed his eyes and waited for the Hat to sort him. He hoped for the best.

"I fear it's so - I've been known to appear to others at times of need, but those are of my owner's namesake, Gryffindor house, and your natural wisdom and thirst for more of it suggest that you would do best in another founder's house: RAVENCLAW!"

It was evening when all the unsorted students including Lionel had reached Hogwarts. It was very huge than he imagined the castle everytime his mother tells him about it. It was very astonishing for him as he starred at the castle. It was very magnificent even though it was dark. They entered the castle when they had finally landed. Many of the unsorted students wooted. They kept pointing in every things they see. Lionel was quiet but he couldn't take his astonishment away.

They stopped in the Entrance Hall which was the Headmistress asked them to do. She explained anything to them about the sorting for three minutes and she walked through the doorway to the Great Hall. Lionel can feel some of his fellow students were tensed but he was very calm. He couldn't feel any tension from his nerves but he was very excited. His parents and his elder sisters were all sorted in Hufflepuff but it would be okay for him if he wouldn't be sorted there after all, he wanted to be sorted in Gryffindor but it would be okay also if he wouldn't be sorted there too. He knew that all of the four houses were all good. None of it was bad even in Slytherin. Slytherin focuses in determination and resourcefulness, it just depends on how the student acts.

After five minutes, the Headmistress had back and brought all of them in the Great Hall. Lionel's jaw dropped. The Great Hall was perfectly magnificent! The ceilings, the floating candles, the windows, the long tables, all of it! All of the things there in the hall really made Lionel impressed. It was like a dream. They stopped walking without ruining the line arrangement.

"Elsworth, Lionel!"

Lionel was called in an unexpected time after a few students were called. This time, he didn't expect the tension he felt. It was like thunderstruck. He walked to the staircase and sat on the chair. All of the students were looking at him as the Headmistress put the Sorting Hat on his head. Lionel's heart was pumping so fast.

"GRYFFINDOR!"

Rory walked into the Great Hall with the rest of the First Years in the back of the group so that he could take his time in getting up to the front in order to look around at the Great Hall more. By the time he got to the front of the Great Hall where the sorting hat was set he was almost bursting from anticipation. Knowing that he was towards the end of the alphabet he wasn't all that nervous because he could see from the ones that went first what would happen once the hat was placed on his head. Finally after what seemed like hours but really wasn't that long at all his name was called. "Sullivan, Rory." This was it, it was his turn now. Rory puffed out his chest and walk up to the sorting hat with confidence. He sat on the stool and looked out at the sea of faces in the Great Hall as the sorting hat was placed on his head.

"GRYFFINDOR!"

Eugene Smythe, the handsome young boy, with scorching blue eyes and floppy brown hair,5"5,easily the tallest in the crowd, clearly stood out from it.While most were shaking with nervousness and others gawking at the magnificence of the Great Hall,Eugene stood at the very back of the crowd with his hands in his pocket and a crooked smile on his face.I'm going to love this place were his exact thoughts when he had had his first sight of the Hogwarts New Zealand Castle. It was huge and magnificent and exactly how his nana had described it.So many places to explore,so many ways to get lost. This castle seemed like a world in it's self.Eugene couldn't wait to start exploring.

But all that excitement was momentarily buried deep within him.He didn't want to be jumping up and down on the balls of is feet.He was classy, calm, confident,Eugene Smythe. He was mature for his age or atleast he tried to act like it.And he was unconcerned about what house he would be put in.His parents had been in rival houses and had managed to fall in love anyhow.Surely that meant that houses didn't matter much. His nana had always taught him that at the age of 11 no one actually knew how they would turn out after seven years. And so she said that she would be equally proud of him no matter what house he was sorted into.Eugene didn't know what house he wanted to be in.He had heard many of the other first years discussing about what house they might be in.Gryffindor and Ravenclaw seemed to be the popular choice and hardly anyone wanted to be a Hufflepuff. There were also some who prided themselves in imagining that they would be sorted into Slytherin. To Eugene they all sounded crazy. The only thing he wanted were good friends and he was sure he could find them in any house.

The Sorting Ceremony began with the Sorting Hat's song. The slowly and alphabetically the students were called on and sorted into their respective houses by the extremely old and frayed Sorting Hat."Smythe,Eugene" Eugene heard his name being called and he made his way towards the front of the hall and took a seat on the three legged stool. The sorting head was placed on his head and he mentally chanted the chorus of one of his favourite songs. He wondered if doing so would make it harder for the hat to sort him into his house.Eugene was a bit mischievious and liked to have a laugh by giving others a hard time. And this time it was the Sorting Hat.

"Hmmm, Hufflepuff is a popular enough house - their pride is just a quieter kind. They accomplish their own goals and don't need to measure themselves by the standards of the other houses and, you know, I think you'll do quite well there. Show the other houses that there's more to being a Hufflepuff than can possibly be ignored. HUFFLEPUFF!"

The young mousey-haired boy lingered at the back of the crowd as the other excited First Years. Oscar was beyond excited to get sorted but tried to not let his smile get too big. To be going to Hogwarts was such a miraculous change for him. He hoped it would be a place where he could make his own name, and to not be bullied. He was also incredibly grateful to get away from his money-loving parents.
The Great Hall was a warm welcome. It pleased Oscar to see the people sitting at tables like families. The twinkling sky amazed him, he would never have suspected something like that was able to happen. He, of course, knew all of the Muggle magic tricks, but that was science, and was plain easy. To do real magic, that was astonishing.
It wasn't long until they had reached the front of the Hall, and a lady, the Headmistress, was greeting them. When the hat on the stool started singing, Oscar couldn't help but let a huge grin take place on his face. There was a lot of excitement bubbled up in his stomach, and he couldn't believe he hadn't heard of this place before. Leave it to his father to keep secrets from his mother. Oscar waited patiently, studying each student as they went up to get sorted. Finally, it was his turn to get sorted. Twiddling his thumbs, Oscar sat on the stool, and smiled, looking up, as the hat got placed on his head.

"Muggle wisdom and wisdom of the wizarding world are quite different, but I've little doubt you'll be able to adapt and thrive. I think Rowena would be intrigued by you. RAVENCLAW!"

Nicolas Potter walked into the great hall with other new students. Ncolas can feel some of his fellow students were tensed but he was very calm. He couldn't feel any tension from his nerves but he was very excited. He wanted to be sorted in Gryffindor but it would be okay also if he wouldn't be sorted there too. The Sorting Ceremony began with the Sorting Hat's song. The students were called on and sorted into their respective houses by the extremely old and frayed Sorting Hat

"Potter, Nicolas"

The teacher directed Nicolas to sit on the stool, placing the hat down over the child's eyes. Everything went dark.

Nicolas held his breath. The hat began to stir...

"HUFFLEPUFF!"

Holding her stuffed bear on her hand, Aaren Nightray silently followed the other first years into the great hall. It was really rare for her to get nervous, even more, it's rare for her to not talk at all. Who can blame her though? She wasn't sure about what will happen to them as soon as they enter the pair of double doors that would lead them into the Great Hall. Her cousin, who wasn't really close to her, had told her that there would be some sort of a test to see which house they would be sorted into. She hadn't been told about what type of test it would be, her parents didn't tell her about it either. Hugging her stuffed bear, which is her lucky item for the day, Aaren waited for the headmistress to talk. She gulped when she heard that they were to be called one by one and would have to sit in front of all the students while waiting for them to be sorted. All her nervousness though had suddenly disappeared when she learned that they'll be sorted by what the headmistress had called the sorting hat. She had heard of it from some of the students chatting earlier, but she didn't really expected that it was indeed a hat. Being quite small, Aaren tried to stand on her tip toes to see even just a glimpse of the said hat who had suddenly began singing. "It's such a cute little hat, but it looks really weird too." She said, finally giving up on trying and deciding to just listen to what the sorting hat had been saying. After the hat was done, Aaren, finally gaining confidence, began to clap her hands. In a little while, the woman in front began calling out the names of the first years. With her name starting in 'N', Aaren still had the chance to observe the hall that she was in. Due to her nervousness earlier, she had failed to notice how enchanting and splendid the place was. Too absorbed in her thought, she failed to hear the name that the woman had next called. "Oh... I wonder who the old little hat is sorting right now." She said in her sing song voice as she turned her attention towards the front, only to find the stool empty. "Was is done already? But I haven't been called yet!" She muttered hugging the stuffed bear closer to her.

"Nightray, Aren" Hearing her name being called so suddenly, the young girl almost jumped on her feet. Stumbling out of the line that she was in, she skipped her way to the front and excitedly sat on the stool. She almost jammed the hat eagerly on her head in her excitement. Next second, she was looking at the black inside of the hat. "I'm really sorry for making you wait Mister hat. You see, I am really excited to attend this place. It's really beautiful. My cousin told me that I would learn a lot here. But he didn't tell me how beautiful this place is. Well, he doesn't really talk a lot so I can forgive him when he failed to tell me about this place. You see, he's really really cold. But I still love him. And oh, you know what, I'm really excited to know which house I will be sorted into. But I will leave everything to you. You look really old so I know that you have years of experience already. " She thought, swinging her legs as she waited for the hat to sort her. Everything would work out just fine, she had her lucky item for the day after all.

"…are you done now? Alright then. Well, you don't have much choice in leaving everything to me. Now, you may have to abandon your stuffed bear on some of your upcoming adventures - but I trust you'll find it all worthwhile. You're a GRYFFINDOR!"

Steve walked in the midst of the group of first years, his hands in his pockets. He was quite excited to be entering Hogwarts. He had never heard of magic before, the school was simply amazing. The sheer size was amazing, the fact the pictures moved was simply fascinating. He was loving the ghosts. Selfishly he wondered was there a drum kit anywhere around. It would suck if there was none as he usually spent hours on his drum kit at home. He would have no problem singing, he usually did that as he went through daily life. This whole school was giving him ideas for a new comic. He hadn't drawn a new one in a while and now he had loads of new inspiration. He knew life was going to be different here. So much had already changed. He was still grasping the concept he was magical.Sure he had done weird things as a child. But he had been a weird kid anyways. Well in his mind anyways. He wasn't anything special, he fitted in and went unnoticed which suited him perfectly. He was going to miss Lily and Katie. He lived his two little sisters . They were so adorable , it had almost been heart breaking saying goodbye to them.

Steve sighed as they walked down the middle of the huge hall. Steve looked up at the ceiling. It was amazing. Magic certainly was beautiful and he was looking forward to learning a lot from it. He just hoped there were no j@ckass' in his year. He really couldn't handle anymore teasing. He hated it when people made phone of him. Just because he didn't like playing sport or something stupid like that. He hoped things were different here and he didn't meet some arrogant jerk. Steve just wanted to have a nice seven years in Hogwarts. No trouble. Was that too much to ask for? So far the people around him seemed nice enough. He hoped they stayed that way. Steve wasn't much to look at from the outside. He didn't think so anyways. He was just your average looking guy. Nothing spectacular or amazing about him. When they got to the end of the hall, the headmistress stood up and spoke to them. She explained certain rules and told them what they would be doing. It seemed quite strange to go up and sit down on a stole and put an old hat on his head. He was a bit nervous, he didn't like loads of people looking at him. He preferred blending in, no one in his old school had known about his drum playing and comics. He had had no real friends either. He had been a bit of a loner.

Student after student was called up. Steve watched curiously as the hat was placed on people's head's and it said a house. He knew about the houses, he had done a little research. He knew what each house was about. He didn't know where would suit him. He had a feeling Hufflepuff was the place for him. He wouldn't suit Slytherin anyways, he wasn't brave or anything so Gryffindor wasn't the place for him, he didn't think Ravenclaw was the place for him either but then again it seemed to be the hats choice not his. He waited for his name to be called. It was pretty far down the list of names so a lot of students had already been seated before his name was called.

Soon his name was called and he walked up nervously. His hands started fiddling with the jumper of his uniform. He shakily sat down and looked out. He immediately regretted it as all he saw were hundreds of eyes on him. He quickly looked down, but his palms became sweaty and his breathing quickened. "Calm Steve, calm" He said to himself as the hat was placed on his head.

"You would do well in any of three houses: You're certainly no Slytherin but the others all have something to offer you. Hmm, but I see you'd prefer Hufflepuff. Alright, then - I just hope you don't miss out on anything. Hmmm… No, you'll be fine in HUFFLEPUFF!"

The man walked through the big oak doors, and they silently shut behind him. The First Years began to talk amongst themselves. Rose turned to her best friend, Claudia. "One word - Wow. You ready for the sorting?" she said. Her stomach was all jumbled up, like the entire insect family was in there. "Yeah, I guess." replied Claudia. "Ive been asking around, and I think I'd like to be in Gryffindor. I mean, they sound AWESOME." "I can see you in Gryffindor." said Claudia. " Remember the time when Jake called me a *****, and you went and slapped him so hard he fell off his desk? And when we were being told off by mrs obrien for talking, and you put bugs into her glasses case? She though she had gone mad!" they chuckled in remembrance.then the man came back into the room, said "Into a single file line please, then follow me. " they all lined up, Rose went behind Claudia, and they all walked into the Great Hall. Roses mouth dropped open, and her eyes widened. They reached the front and stood in front of an ragged old hat sitting ontop of a stool. The man started calling out names and before long before Roses name was called out. She slowly climbed the steps, heart thudding, but then thought, why am I afraid? I have no reason to be?, and she continued to climb, although far more confidently up the steps. She sat on the stool, and the hat was lowered onto her head, swallowing her in the darkness.

"Fortunately for you, Claudia was right and I can see you Gryffindor as well. Go on, then. GRYFFINDOR!"

James Pacis entered and walked into the Great Hall with the other First Year. He is very nervous and he can feel that other first years are also nervous. He really wanted to be sorted in Slytherin but it would be okay also if he wouldn't be sorted there too. The sorting starts with the sorting hat song. The students were called on and sorted into their respective houses by the extremely old and frayed Sorting Hat

"Pacis, James"

The teacher directed James to sit on the stool, placing the hat down over the child's eyes. Everything went dark.

"SLYTHERIN!"

Halia walked into the great hall which was brightly lit with candles and flames all around. She could see the four house tables laid nicely with cutlery and plates in preparation for the grand feast. She was nervous but it wasnt like Halia to show her true emotions. She walked with the rest of the first years to where the Sorting Hat awaited for the young students. She stood patiently waiting for her turn but only one word was repeating in her head: Gryffindor!

"Gryffindor, hmmm? I'm sorry, but that's just not the best spot for you. You'll find much more success in RAVENCLAW!"

The man walked through the big oak doors, and they silently shut behind him. The First Years began to talk amongst themselves. Claudia turned to her best friend, Rose. "One word - Wow. You ready for the sorting?" Rose said.  "Yeah, I guess." replied Claudia. Her stomach felt like it had been tied into a huge knot. "Ive been asking around, and I think I'd like to be in Gryffindor. I mean, they sound AWESOME." "I can see you in Gryffindor." said Claudia, hoping that they could both be in it together. " Remember the time when Jake called me a *****, and you went and slapped him so hard he fell off his desk? And when we were being told off by mrs obrien for talking, and you put bugs into her glasses case? She though she had gone mad!" they chuckled in remembrance. Then the man came back into the room, said "Into a single file line please, then follow me. " they all lined up, Claudia infrint of Rose and behind some tall blond haired guy, and they all walked into the Great Hall. Claudias mouth fell open, and her eyes widened. They reached the front and stood in front of an ragged old hat sitting ontop of a three legged stool. The man started calling out names, and people began being sorted. "Balme, Ellie was the first. Before long Claudias name was called out. She slowly climbed the steps, heart thudding a tattoo on her chest. Thoughts ran through her mind, a gazillion a second.  She sat on the stool. One thought ran through her mind. Gryffindor. Please be Gryffindor. The hat was lowered onto her head, and she was swallowed into the darkness.

"SLYTHERIN!"

<SIZE size="50">Loosening the tie around her neck, the young 11 year old was already bored. Of course, she knew that it would be a long while until they even got to her. At this point they were waiting. Not even in the hall. What an annoyance. Sage Ottavi was a slim girl with a tall build for her age. She had spent years in the warmth of the a beach, this place had been too cold for her. But, here she was. Wearing the boring black uniform. Not really happy with the boringness that the uniform had. It was simple and she hated simple. She was a grand girl. She liked luxuries, though she couldn't always afford them. The small things in life were not what she like. If it was up to her, she would switch the boring black skirt, for short, and the shirt would be less constricting, but this was day one, and she had plenty of opportunities to change absolutely everything about it. Sage was wondering what this school could bring. She had always wanted to go to Beauxbatons, but her father lived in New Zealand and so here she was. Ready to be sorted. The girl was pretty sure she'd be a Slytherin. She knew she wasn't the type to fit in the other houses. She was mean, she looked out for herself, she didn't bother much with her education. She didn't care about others. She was a slytherin. Through and through. Her mind told her it would be very unlikely for her to be in any other house than that of the snake. Than that of the very slithery. The Sly, the cunning. It was silly in her mind to even think of her in any other house. Though her home educated father told her to not be too cocky about it. He had friends who had been sorted elsewhere than where they were meant to. Sage, wanted slytherin. She had to just ask, surely? That was the trick. Of course her mind was rapidly thinking of everything as she waited with the others in her year. She wondered which she would enjoy being around, and which she wouldn't. None of them seemed particularly interesting to her. She didn't care about it. She really didn't care about them. In her minds this was the first of many days that centered around her. That she was the center of the universe for.

The doors opened and with the rest of her class, she followed them to the front of the hall. The Great Hall was not as Great as the name suggested. Magical yes, cool, yes, but not really great. It was so large in size, and there were so many students. So many. She knew that as a first year, she had little to no footing, but only time would tell. She wanted to be the center of the world, so therefore, all she really had to do was work a little harder. Be a little bolder, act a little bit strong. She fought her way to the front of the crowd, though had little reason to do so. Her name being Ottavi would come fairly late on, But Sage, liked being in front. She liked knowing what was in front of her. And this was the very literal way for it to be. She looked up at the old hat, and found herself smiling. Of course it looked like that. It was hogwarts. It felt normal for a school like it was. Simple and effective. It was good. Sage looked at the professor, who introduced the year, and let the hat sing. Well, that was something new. Even though her blood was fairly pure, it didn't mean she understood why a hat would be the one to make all the decisions in terms of sorting. She waited, as the names started. And in this she lost track of time, all of a sudden,

"Ottavi, Sage"

Sage rarely heard her last name. It felt stupid. But, it was hers. She brushed down her skirt and walked up to the small stood. She turned to face the large crowd sitting in the Great Hall. Holding her head high as she sat down and let the hat be placed on her head. She was fairly sure the choice would be obvious. She was a born Slytherin. The hat just had to agree with that.

"A born Slytherin, hmmm? No, your surname is Ottavi, remember - I fear the Slytherin line seems to have run its course and now nobody can claim any birthright to that house (though many may try). You could actually do quite well as a Gryffindor. Learn a thing or two, too. But I see your mind's made up. SLYTHERIN!"

Ah! Hogwarts New Zealand. Who could ever imagine a muggle, well not entirely a muggle but a muggleborn like Eddie Gavreel Bliss enter a magical school like this. It was year back when, Eddie being eight years old to be precise. He was eavesdropping, as his parents were talking about her Aunt Muriel being a wizard and entering Salem when she was younger. They were worried at the same excited to see if the family line continues on, both of them being a muggle. They have heard wizards and witched but mainly in fiction books, though her mother knew what his Aunt Muriel went through. It wasn't easy to leave her family behind but it was all worth it, she lived a happy life after graduating that is when Eddie turned nine and Aunt Muriel died in a car crash. No one knew how it all happened so fast, Eddie was left in tears but years after he recovered. It was then he found out that there's a chance for him to be a wizard, he always dreamed of becoming. At the age of ten, he would pick up a medium sized stick and point it to the his neighbors. Though it always ended with Eddie poking them, hard. Pain made him laugh a lot, there was something satisfying with the way children and ever adults would cry. It started when he was six and he saw his cousin three year old cousin crying out of pain when he fell down the high chair. All Eddie did is to stare at poor little Billy, and in an instant his mouth started to form a curve that turned into a smile. No one knew what happened back then but Billy's safe, until years passed by and he developed skills of making people cry and laugh at the same time. He wasn't that mean, at least he thinks so but being straight forward has been his signature thing. Who could ever forget the reaction on his face when he received the letter, inviting him to attend Hogwarts New Zealand. "Guess what guys! I'm a wizard! Happy April Fool's everyone!" Eddie stated to his parents when he showed him the letter.

It wasn't a shock to his parents knowing this day would come, they couldn't be more happier actually. Eddie on the other hand went to grab some carton of milk and drank all the milk, while his parents were cheering for him and allowed him to go to Hogwarts. "Sure, sure! Give me a minute to finish this and then we could party later." As he finished his milk, his parents were so excited to pack his things, he didn't know how to react at all. At first he tried to smile and grin but then he was left crinkling his face. "Seriously guys, if you want me to leave that bad..I would've left years ago." he joked. No one can ever indulge Eddie's words, and by no one this includes his parents. Arriving at Hogwarts was the best part, the train didn't seem that convenient but Eddie loved trains, even during his childhood, up to now. When he arrived he looked around and scratched hi curly hair, wondering why was he here again. All of them looked so pale, every nations collided on the other hand he was here for the sake of having fun and just like what his parents said to him, make history. When they were lead to the biggest hall he had ever seen and the oldest too, Eddie followed the others and waited for the so called sorting to begin. "Bliss, Eddie" a voiced in front called him, he didn't even bother to look who it was. "Always the second, how convenient." he murmured as he approached a wooden chair and sat on it. At first he didn't know how all these things worked out, and when the sorting hat was placed above his head, Eddie freaked out. "No one said that I had to wear this old dusty hat!" he exclaimed quite loud, getting the attention of some students. Eddie glared back, as if he was threatening him with his eyes. There was no other way, so might as well continue the process. Shutting his mouth, he waited for the hat to do what he did with the others. Confused, Eddie Bliss hoped that he would be put to the right house. It would be interesting to see if the hat would fit into his big head, and adding up his dark curly locks.

"And no one said that I had to sit atop this terribly disgusting little head. But alas, here we are. The difference is, of course, that you are quite privileged to have more magic than you'll ever know in your life so near to yourself and I am forced to drudge through your 11 year old mind to find some indication of which of four great wizarding houses you might do best in when really it'd be quite easier to not insult any of the founders. But, I suppose that's my duty and I'll do it 'til my stuffing's all fallen out: SLYTHERIN!"

It has been a year since she saw her brother, Killua. The reason is that he never came home during his vacations and that worried Hanna a lot. Killua was the only brother she loved and she really didn't appreciate being separated from the said boy. She threw tantrums a lot at home and she knew the rest of her siblings were glad she wasn't an assassin, although her parents did regret not training her into one. Either way, Hanna was excited to see her brother, and this would be the day she will see him. Sorting.

Hanna can't even express her full happiness and gratefulness that she also received her acceptance letter as a witch with her own capability. And now, she was entering the same school her brother was in and here she was in a crowd of fellow first years waiting to be sorted by the magical hat in front of them. "That hat is so cute!" she thought to herself while waiting for her name to be called.

"Hanna Mitchelle Freecss,"

As soon as she heard it, she passed through the crowd and took a seat at the stool provided and the hat was placed on her head. "Hi there, Mr. Hat! How you doing?" she whispered. "Um. Is this school really fun? Brother didn't want to come home so maybe this school is fun! Right? Can you put me in the same house as him? The green one! Please? Pretty, pretty, pretty please?" she pleaded in her head. She can't wait to be sorted and spend time with her brother and maybe look for what they call friends.

"It's as fun as you make it, but I'm afraid 'the green one' isn't the house for you. No, indeed, you are a HUFFLEPUFF!"

Roxan fiddled with the edge of her sleeves, anticipating her name being called out. She didn't want to stand up in front of all those people. She wasn't very good with that, being rather shy and quiet. Still, she wasn't scared. Roxan was just nervous to see what house she was in, after all. That was normal, right? Loads of people must've felt like that before. Maybe even the people right next to her. So, she just needed to get her chin up, and take it how it was. What was the worst scenario that could happen, anyway? During this train of thought, Roxan wasn't expecting her name to be called out. Jumping slightly, she looked up at the hat, and made her way towards it. Ok, here goes nothing... Feeling the hat placed on her head, she held her breath.

"You might not think so now, but you'll definitely grow in to it - you're a GRYFFINDOR!"

Demi entered the Great Hall happy and excited to be sorted in to the house of Gryffindor or in the house of Hufflepuff, hopefully. She is was so excited that she could shreek in excitement and happiness as her name was called by an woman holding a scroll.

"Demi Swift"

She was so surprised when her name was called, and excitedly sat by the stoll where beside it is hat. She heard about that is the Sorting Hat, as the hat was placed in her head she has been talking to herself "Hi mr. Hat can you please put me into Gryffindor or Hufflepuf? Pleaaaaaase, Pretty Please."

"Deal. HUFFLEPUFF!"

Crimson gathered with the rest of the surprisingly large group of new first years outside of the tall, dark wooden doors leading into the Great Hall, his stomach doing miniature acrobatic flips, front aerials and tucks that would no doubt win some sort of stomach gymnastics award. He had been excited to come to the school, every day since he'd received his letter of acceptance until that morning, when suddenly it was all 'Did I make sure to pack everything? What if I'm late? What if I don't make friends and have to sit by myself for the whole seven years? Did I remember to pack that book I was reading last night? What if I've grown since I bought these robes and now they'll be too small?'. It was one thing after the next and it hadn't let up, even now that he was minutes away from being sorted into his house.

The excited, rapid talking and low nervous murmurs of the other eleven year old children around Crimson filled his ears as he himself quietly scanned through the slow moving crowd, searching for his twin cousins. It was only in the last few days that his mother had informed him that they would be there too, considering they only lived in the neighboring country. He shuffled along, creeping forward with every gap of kids, hoping to catch their familiar faces with the expectation that he'd settle down and feel less queasy. But, after a minute they were all through the doors and inside the Great Hall, surrounded by long tables where older students from each house were already seated. On the far end of the hall sat the Hogwarts Staff, the Headmistress ready at her podium. She looked younger than the boy had imagined, usually he associated authority with age, but the woman lacked any grey hair and wrinkles. He smiled and felt slightly more comfortable. It was a nice change, the elderly could be more set in their ways.

There was a brief speech by the Headmistress and a song by a bizarre, old talking wizard hat that supposedly was going to pick their house. By this point, Crimson had given up finding his cousins and stood awkwardly around strangers while waiting for his name to be called. The thought of standing up in front of so many people wasn't all that appealing, but he felt better knowing that everyone else had to do it and they likely felt the same way. It will all be over soon.

"Maroon-Sterling, Crimson."

Only a few minutes had passed but it felt like an eternity. Watching kids walk up to the stool and have the hat placed on their heads, the hat shouting out their house and then them sitting down. It felt like it had gone on and on. The boy took a deep breath and stepped forward from the diminishing group, starting his long walk up the hall, looking for things to take his mind off the fact that a few hundred eyes were focused on him. The ceiling seemed to have a good effect, the illusioned night sky wasn't something he'd ever seen before and for the smallest moment he believed that the ceiling opened up to the sky. Though in no time at all he'd reached the stool and the awaiting Headmistress. He exhaled, not sure if he'd been holding his breath the entire walk, then turned and sat down. The leathery material of the Sorting Hat closed down around his head, ginger hair flattening down over his eyes. As he brushed it to the side, he could almost feel the hat poking around in his mind.
I wonder if having two shades of red in my name will just make it automatically choose the Gryffindor house. I hope not.

"It's not a troll sorting you that your house is based on the colours I associate with your name. Why would I be in your mind at all if I was so very superficial? You're a RAVENCLAW!"

Richie may as well have been a firework, because the excitement pooling in his stomach felt like it was about to burst forth in a display of fiery explosions and bright colours. He had been accepted into Hogwarts, something he had been insatiably waiting for ever since reading the first letter he had recieved from his older brother all those years ago. He had read about the Great Hall, the magic to be learned, the amazing skills of the professors, the epic Quidditch matches, not to mention the awesome scale of Hogwarts Castle. His eyes darted back and forth around the Great Hall as the large group of new students around him shuffled through the doors. The others looked very nervous in the eyes of the entire school. Richie, on the other hand, could not wait to get sorted, eager to meet his House comrades. He listened intently to the Headmaster's speech, before another professor stood up with the list of newcomers.

As the professor began to check off students for sorting, Richie shook slightly. This was it. The Sorting Ceremony. Many names were called before Richie's would be listed, all the while with him uneasy on his feet, the butterflies in his stomach becoming more and more like a disturbed swarm of bats. Eventually, Richie's name was called. His nerves clenched, realising that the entire Great Hall was now focused on him. He briskly walked up to the stool, unsure if his legs would take a mind of their own and cause him to sprint full pelt. He sat down hurriedly, extremely anxious for what was about to happen.

He felt the heavy weight of the old hat being placed upon his head, shaking even more not due to nervousness, but due to excitement. In his mind, a million thoughts were being buzzed about, each of what House he would be put in.

And then it happened. The hat spoke.

"RAVENCLAW!"

Sofia couldn't take her eyes off the charmed sky. Even camping out nights in the desert with her mother, she had never seen anything so beautiful. The Headmistress called everyone to attention. Sofia thought she was quite stunning. Headmistress Davershire started calling names, and as each student was called up to the stool, Sofia became more nervous. Sofia straightened her robes and pulled her hair back into a ponytail.

"Loris, Sofia Jo."

As her name was called, she took a deep breath. It did not matter to Sofia exactly what house she was in, but she felt like whatever house she entered into would determine her life path. Sofia walked up to the Sorting Hat and took a seat upon the stool. What if her bushy hair was too big to put the Sorting Hat on her head? She adjusted herself on the stool and held her breath.

"SLYTHERIN!"

Kaleb, for the first time in quite a while, was close to being Hysterical. It was actually happening!! He was here... Hogwarts New Zealand.
He watched as the other first years were called one by one up to the Sorting hat's Stool. Some in Gryffindor, Some in Slytherin, a few in Hufflepuff, and even some in the blue and bronze Ravenclaw.
As they were called up, Kaleb tried to guess what houses they were going to be sorted into. Some of them were easy to guess; he had seen how they had reacted on the express or on the way to the hall. Others seemed to have land in all four houses, and Kaleb was just unsure.

With each student's name called out, Kaleb got more and more nervous. Would he live up to his father's expectations? Would he be welcomed into the house he was sorted into!? Would he be seen as an outcast, just like his life back in Auckland...
Trying to calm himself down, Kaleb turned his head and started counting. Seeing if he could find patterns or certain different things that either made no sense or were interestingly common yet unnoticed. He became so caught up with his analysis, he almost didn't notice when his name was called.

Blinking his yes, he turned back towards the front of the hall, and slowly walked towards the hat. The first thing he did was make mental notes of the hat: Dents in the hat, presumably eye holes... Was it blind, though? His thoughts suddenly stopped as the Hat rested on his head. He felt insecure, as if everything he thought could be heard by everyone in the room...
Just get it over with... He repeated through his thoughts, Please, Just choose the house!

"I can't place you where you'd want, but I assure you your future is quite bright and you're not disappointing anybody at all by being a GRYFFINDOR!"
