Valentine stood amongst the crowd of students in the highly decorated great hall. She looked to her side and searched for her sister. She let her eyes trail over the faces but couldn't seem to see her. It was a large crowd. She looked back ahead as the hat itself started its song. She supposed it had a lot of time to write music since it was only used one day a year.

She was called forward and sat on the stool. All she knew was she wanted to be in a house that allowed her to learn about plants. She could make friends wherever if she felt like it so that wasn't so important to her.

"Any house would allow you to learn about plants. I see, too, what you desire, and it's not where I might've first placed you...but...I can see the ambition which you feel and the intelligence. Maybe...okay...even though this place exists underground, you will still have plenty access to plants...Slytherin,"

Amory had barely been able to sit in the train on the way to Hogwarts. Everything he had read about magic and the school he was to attend was reeling through his head at once. He just wanted to get there already so he could start learning and proving himself. He hadn't bothered with small talk, he got along just fine on his own. He had never needed others so why start now? Though if someone were to come up to him chances were he'd indulge. Once they arrived to the castle the young wizard ran his blue/gray eyes over the foundation of the castle. He was mildly disappointed, but not complaining. Anything was better than his old room back at the orphanage.

Walking into the great hall and having everyone's attention on the group of first years instantly made Amory feel a rush of excitement. He thrived on being the subject of other people's attention. He waited for his turn to take the seat, impatiently tapping his foot on the ground with his arms crossed over his chest. In his humble opinion this could have been a faster process, but who was he to complain at this point.

Once he finally heard his name called at the front Amory raised his chin and confidently walked to the front taking the seat. He had no idea what house he would be sorted into, nor did he care. As long as everyone he'd be sharing his dorm with was at least on his wave length and shared his ambition or stayed out of his way. Either or would do. The boy sat down and crossed his arms, giving everyone in the room a look before quietly mumbling. "Alright, let's hear it."

"Direct, that's a bit of a change. I see a great desire for adventure, but an even greater one with your ambition. I think, though you would've made a decent Gryffindor, your path lies in...Slytherin,"
