Sarah walked into the Great Hall confidently, at the front of the two lines. A smug smile was on her face as she glanced around the Hall curiously. Of course she was here at Hogwarts. Where else was she going to go? Hogwarts was the best school after all. When they reached the hat and the Sorting Hat, she pushed her hair out of her face, and stood tall, thrusting her shoulders back. She would make sure that people remembered her, and that the others in her year would realise that she would be Queen B of their year.
She glanced around curiously at the others in her year, to see if anyone would be her rival. Of course there were some girls that looked... horrid. And others that looked like she could be friends with. Once they accepted that she would be leader of course. Her eyes fell on some students that looked as if they were going to break down crying, they were that nervous. She couldn't help but roll her eyes disdainfully at that fact. Why were they nervous? There was no need. They were just going to be sorted into a house... It wasn't exactly a life and death situation. If there was one thing that Sarah hated, it was cry-babies. She found them annoying. She hadn't cried that much when she was young... Only when her parents had been killed, and her sister had been kidnapped. She had to grow up tough, and she looked down on others who weren't as tough as her.
Her eyes fell to the front as the Headmistress began speaking, explaining a bit about each house. Sarah had already heard about the other houses through those who also lived at the orphanage so she tuned out. From what she had heard from the others, Slytherin seemed the best house to be by far... She just hoped that she was good enough for it. For the first time that she could remember, doubt began to fill her mind. Would she be good enough? Would she fail and be sorted into another house? Biting her lip nervously, and tasting the apple lip gloss, she barely noticed the clapping at the end of the Headmistress' speech. Bringing her hands together once absent-mindedly, she noticed more of the students looked terrified now, and she hoped that she wasn't one of them. Schooling her features into a nonchalant expression, the way she had learned to when she was young, she hoped that she looked more confident now. Looks were everything in her world, and she couldn't bear to shatter the reputation she had now.
Her name was in the middle, because of the 'K' so she had to wait a while, her heart pounding fast, until finally 'Keith, Sarah!' was called. Standing up straight, and walking forward confidently, making sure that her expression didn't show how nervous she actually was, Sarah could feel all eyes on her, and a small smile spread across her face. That was the way it should be. Sitting down on the stool, she crossed her legs, and waited for the hat to speak, her heart pounding faster than before. This was it.
"You may find what you're looking for in HUFFLEPUFF!"
Sarah's mouth dropped open when she heard what house was called out, but she quickly schooled her features into a nonchalant expression, hoping that no one had seen her lapse. Standing up gracefully, and making her way towards the cheering house, she realised that this might actually be better. People would automatically judge her as weak, since she's in the house that accepts everyone, and would let their guard down, allowing her to get in close to them, and find out their secrets. So with that thought, she smiled at everyone at the table, and sat down. 'Hi, I'm Sarah!' She exclaimed.
