When Desiree entered the Great Hall, she was amazed. It was beautifully decorated with all sorts of magical stuff. She was glad she made the right choice. Her older sister is currently a second year at Beaxbatons and her younger sister decided to go to the same school next school year. Only Desiree decided to go to Hogwarts. Being with her sisters is enough hellhole already and she figured being away from them would be a good change for her. The Hall was really beautiful. A smirk appeared on Desiree's face. If only they were here, then she'd see the look on their faces. Desiree walked towards her batch and waited for the Sorting to start. She patiently waited for her name to be called. She doesn't really have any preference and any house would be good for her. She did not wait that long since her surname is B. "Bourne, Desiree" The headmistress called. Desiree casually walked towards the stool and sat. When the hat was lowered on her head, she did not said anything for she knew that the Hat would do its job and put her In the best house for her.

"HUFFLEPUFF!"

Percy sighed. He can't believe he's going to start school any hour now. He continued to curse his parents for agreeing on this insane idea. Somehow, a little part of him found this great and fun. But the bigger part of him found this miserable and tedious. Can we get this over already? He thought miserably as he waited for the long crazy line of unsorted students to move. The headmistress instructed them on what to do but Percy was barely listening. He was observing the Hall like a critique. It really looked like what Andrea said it would be, with the old structure and all. When the headmistress finished her long tedious speech, she led the batch into the Great Hall. At first, Percy thought of nothing but how he will survive school and what house he'll get sorted in. Andrea always told him to think about heroes and lions when the sorting Hat is lowered onto his head but Percy figured Andrea was only framing him so that he'd get into Gryffindor like her. And no matter what you do, don't think about snakes! She instructed him this morning at the train station. Percy only rolled his eyes at her warning and nodded so she'd shut up. Of course, Percy would never want to be in Gryffindor. He thinks Gryffindor is this awful house full of adventure freaks which are high like his sister. He wants to be in Slytherin or Ravenclaw. That's his two options. Hufflepuff doesn't work for him too since he thinks that house is full of lame people and those who didn't get elsewhere. Percy stared in shock when he got a full glimpse of the Great Hall. It looked magnificent. For a millisecond, Percy thought that this whole thing wasn't such a bad idea but he dismissed it quickly for he thought it was absurd and ridiculous. Percy saw Andrea on the Gryffindor table along with her weird friends. She waved over Percy and made a lion imitation. Percy quickly knew that her sister did that to remind him to think of lions when the Hat is lowered unto his head. Percy, however, stuck his tongue out at Andrea and imitated a snake. His sister scowled at him and gave him a dirty look which made him smirk. He likes it when she's mad. Not too long after that, the headmistress started another tedious speech accompanied by a stupid song courtesy of the big old, moldy Sorting Hat. The Sorting quickly begun after the lame song. One by one, the children were sorted. Percy waited timidly for his name to be called. Alas, the headmistress finally gotten into the K and called him. "Kelize, Perseus!" Percy timidly walked towards the stool and sat impatiently. When the Hat was lowered unto his head, he thought of nothing but snakes and eagles, his two options. "Come one, Old Hat! If you are really that witty like my sister says, you're going to put me in either Slytherin or Ravenclaw." He muttered coldly and waited.

"You know, you don't have to be an arrogant little snot to be a Slytherin. In fact, Slytherin wouldn't be very pleased with you right now. Slytherin's have grave respect, even reverence, for magic (of which I am more than you will ever know or have). Hopefully some of that will rub off on you, I suppose. SLYTHERIN!"

Kieran stood beside his twin sister quietly, he wasn't nervous, not really, he just couldn't stop thinking about the various colours that surrounded the group of young children that he was a part of. Red... green... yellow... blue... Kieran wasn't sure what it meant to be in any of the houses, since his twin had done most of the reading into it, but he hoped that he got the same one as her, whichever that would be. If it had to go by colour preference, Kieran would rather the green one, he'd always liked green, or the yellow one, that looked really cool too. Shuffling his feet slightly, he looked around at the people that were in the Great hall, they were all older than him, and bigger, though that wasn't exactly difficult, since he had always been a small boy. Peples names were being called alphabetically, which made him smile brightly, his last name was Boneheart, so it wouldn't be a long wait for him until his name was called, he could barely contain his excitement. Nor could he shake the feeling that everyone in this crowd could be a potential friend, it was all just so exciting! As the lastnames turned to Bs, Kieran clasped his hands together, but quickly realised that his twin would be called first, it seemed a little unfair. Kelsey got to do everything first, because she was the oldest, by two minutes, it was getting a little ridiculous, and now it's because her second letter in her name came before his did. Typical. It couldn't be any other way. Watching his twin be called out, Kieran watched her carefully, his heart trying to run out of his chest as she made her way up to the stool, sat down and was sorted... into Hufflepuff. Immediately Kieran wanted that house to be his too, because they were twins, they did everything together, surely they wouldn't be split?!

"Boneheart, Kieran."

Kieran took a deep breath, now he was nervous. Making his way to the front and sitting on the stool, Kieran looked out amoungst the crowd of people he didn't know, he couldn't find Kelsey anymore, and he was a little worried. When the hat was put on his head, Kieran could see no-longer, but he wasn't really worrying about that. Putting his hands in his lap quietly, Kieran chewed his bottom lip. 'Please Mr. Hat, please put me in Hufflepuff!' And with that done, Kieran awaited for the name of his house.

"I'm terribly sorry, but your ambition for yourself - regardless of others or consequences - certainly does not place you in Hufflepuff. You're a SLYTHERIN!"

James looked around at all the students around him. He didn't feel the least bit nervous, I mean, sure the whole thing mattered a lot, but there wasn't really anything he could do to change the magical hat's decision. He was personally hoping for Ravenclaw, or maybe Slytherin. He just wanted to be with people who were smart, but could have fun too.

"James Thompson" A voice boomed.

James blinked, hesitated a moment, than walked up to the front, sitting in the chair and closing his eyes. He felt the hat touch down on his head….

"You're bright, but not necessarily wise. Your thirst for adventure and loyalty to your friends makes it pretty clear to me that you should be a GRYFFINDOR!"

Ashlea walked into the hall, bright lights and students were everywhere yet the room was awkwardly quiet, Ashlea looked up to the roof while she walked with the group, clusters of kids her ages where surrounding her, were there really this many Magical people in the world.
Ashlea shook her head and focused on the place infront of her, on the seat a hat waiting to decide her fate which to her seemed silly but if it was there it had to be important.
The Brunette bit her lip while she waited, a habit she had tried to shake but never seemed to be able to. Her long brown hair was lose over her shoulder, she thought that she might have to look a bit more smarter in the group of older Witches and Wizards, she didn't feel up to scratch.

Ashlea waited paitently as student after student got sorted when her name was called

Henderson, Ashlea

Ashlea walked to the stool, her name felt original compared to some that she had heard, she didn't have a magical name is was just plain. She shook out her shoulders and sat on the stool, she felt the hat on her head and she wanted to flinch but kept her calm, One small step and then she would be free and decided she felt like the lock on a cupboard was about to be broken and you could see all the things that were inside, once the Sorting hat had said its words.

"Very much a HUFFLEPUFF!"

Sergei Aleksandar Zhefarovich entered the Great Hall with dignity in his silvery eyes. This was the first time the boy had stepped foot into New Zealand, and now he was going to be attending this school, so that his other family members could keep an eye on him or something like that. Sergei did not really know why, but ever since he was placed back into his father's house, it had been nothing more but a weird feeling. Sergei had many feelings, his father had a dark past, and one that conflicted with the man that actually raised him, his grandfather because of something that his father did. Sergei did not really know everything, but he actually did not care at all. He just wanted to learn what he could, and attend school in peace. He did not know what he wanted to do when he grew up, but he knew that it was not about to teach anything. He did not want to be taught anything. His uncle Azerail taught here, as well as his uncle Kalif. So things could be worse, completely. Sergei looked up at the Headmistress, before he narrowed his eyes. Already he could tell that he was not going to enjoy this too much. However he was going to have to deal with it, and he was going to live by it as well. Sergei knew that since his last name started with the letter Z, he was going to be one of the very last, if not the very last, to be sorted. That means that he would be waiting for the longest of times. How could this happen to him of all people though? Sergei just did not like it. He would have loved to be the first because the anticipation was enough to make him uneasy. And for him, being uneasy was unacceptable. Sergei had learned so many manners, but he knew that he was supposed to look out for himself, and family only. Whether or not he was going to actually do that was questionable. Sergei preferred to stick to himself, alone and out of the way.

"Zhefarovich, Sergei!" called out the voice, and Sergei looked up at last. He moved his brunette hair from his forehead, before he made his way toward the stool where he would have the sorting hat placed on his head, and he would be sorted into a house for the next seven years. He did not know much about the houses, just that he had a cousin now sorted into Slytherin. Perhaps he would be best with his cousin. He turned around to face the Great Hall, before he felt the hat placed upon his head. He had heard from other family members that the hat could read minds, and he had nothing to hide. He simply quieted his thoughts, so the sorting hat could do its thing, and then he could be sorted. Perhaps he would be in red, or yellow, or blue or green. Whatever the colors were, he did not care, alas his fate rested in the seams of the hat. Whatever the hate decided, it would be the best. That was what he had heard, and that was what he also believed.

"SLYTHERIN!"

Daisy scuffled into the hall alongside her future classmates, it was nothing like anything she ever seen before! The size, the decor, it was magical. She stood on the tip of her toes, craning her neck around to take it all in, she was afraid to blink just in case she missed anything. Although right now, there wasn't much going on, just a lot of nervous jabber from the children around her. She had heard rumours about what was involved in The Sorting Ceremony, one rumour involved battling a troll and depending on how you fought determined what your house would be in, another rumour involved a singing hat but Daisy thought that was a bit ridiculous aswell. Turns out, it wasn't ridiculous in the wizarding world.

There she was, the Headmistress, carrying out an old drooping witches hat. The whole hall settled down into a silence but Daisy still stood on the tip of her toes, peering over the heads of nervous eleven year olds. She didn't know what there was to be nervous about? This was great! And there was a forbidden forest in the grounds too?! As soon as she got unpacked and settled in, that's exactly where she was going to go. Daisy swore the Headmistress was looking right at her when she said that it was out of bounds as if she had heard her thoughts, wait can witches do that? Nevertheless, the plan remained, as soon as she had unpacked her things, Daisy was going out of bounds. With all of her excitement about the forest, Daisy missed the part where the Headmistress carefully instructed the students on what to do with the hat and then all of a sudden the hat started to sing. It actually wasn't a bad singer, for a hat, she had to admit. It then started to call out names and by the time it got to the letter B, Daisy understood exactly what she had to do. Pity her surname began with S, she had a good while to wait. Though, it gave her plenty of time to think about the four houses that she was briefly told about while getting her supplies earlier in the week. She didn't have a notion which house she'd be sorted into, frankly she barely even remembered the names nevermind what they each stood for.

Simmons, Daisy

Simmons, Daisy, that's me. Daisy slowly lowered herself down from standing on her toes, she then walked through the remaining few up to the hat, who seemed a lot more daunting now that she was closer. All she could think of was her father's last words to her before she got on the train, "make sure you look respectful". Her usually scruffiness caused conflict between her father and his little girl, so just for him, she paused to make sure everything was tucked in, before she made her way up to the stool. As soon as she sat down, the hat was placed on her head, falling over her eyes so she was surrounded by complete darkness and silence. It was now just herself, the hat and her future.

"GRYFFINDOR!"

It seemed quite odd, really, the way the castle loomed above them all. The grand halls, with intricate decorations, inside. Grand, unique, odd, intriguing, amazing, words flitted through Connor's mind attempting to describe the place. Large doors barred the entrance to the Great Hall. Even from hundreds of yards away the aroma of food was intoxicating. The doors opened magically as they approached and Connor walked down the aisle with the others. It was in alphabetical order by last name so it wasn't for almost an hour before "Vertigo, Connor." He walked up, all eyes upon him. No one had heard of him but they weren't exactly going to ignore him either, who knows? He could be the smartest kid of the year.

"Hmm… let's see how you fair in RAVENCLAW!"

Tom looked up at the huge castle in front of him.It was much bigger then he had imagined.Alice had told him loads of stories of her time in Hogwarts.Ever since he was a boy he had dreamed of getting his letter and coming to Hogwarts.there was the chance that he could have been a squib at an early age but as he grew he had done things that had scared the boys and girls in his school. His heart did a little extra beat and his breath caught when he thought of Alice,it was nearly a year ago but that didn't mean the pain wasn't as raw.He still missed her so badly,it felt like only yesterday he was laughing with her on the way to the airport.Tom sniffed before he breathed in and shook his head.He had to be stronger,he knew Alice wouldn't like him being sad.He had once been a pretty excited and adventurous kid.He had been witty, sarcastic and had been friendly enough but he had changed last year.Hearing your fellow classmates screaming and hearing them drowning as he floated outside the plane and heard them all drown. There wasn't a night when he didn't hear those screams and sometimes during the day the flashbacks struck suddenly and he would be caught unawares.Tom sighed,he shouldn't be thinking about that day.He was in Hogwarts for God's sake, the place he had dreamed of since he was four.

He unlike the other first year students was not talking but standing at the edge of the group. He found it hard to talk to people or interact. He just wasn't himself anymore. He had changed and not for the better. He walked into the huge hall and his eyes immediately looked up at the ceiling that Alice had told him so much about. It was amazing, there were candles floating and it was swirling,it looked magical and beautiful. He tried to think of what Alice thought when she had first entered the hall nine years ago.She would probably have been doing the same as him but she would have made much more friends then him and she would probably have the attention of the boys.Tom stopped quickly before he bumped into someone who had stopped,He was about to mutter under his breath when he realized they had reached the end of the hall.It wasn't until know that he looked around at the rest of the hall. There were hundreds of students looking at the new first years most were chatting to friends about them.Tom yawned and his eyes dropped a little. He had been up all night after having another bad dream, the plagued his mind all the time.He couldn't believe he was falling asleep at probably one of the most exciting times in his years of Hogwarts.A young woman stood up and the hall immediately quietened. The names of the first years began to be called out.Soon Tom felt himself drifting, finally he jerked when he heard his name

"Ward,Tom"

He walked up slowly, yawning as he did so.He really was very tired,he wasn't sure if he was even hungry he just wanted a bed, what ever house it was in.He had no preference to what house he was in.He sat down on the seat and waited for the house to be called

"No preference for your house, hmm? I really wish you had one, it'd make this decision far easier for me. I suppose you might as well be a SLYTHERIN!"

Valentina bit the bottom of her lip and allowed her pale blue eyes to take in the Great Hall carefully. It was nothing like she imagined it to be. It was bigger and even more stunning. She wasn’t sure if she was fully correct on guessing this but, she was pretty sure they could feed an entire city plus more in this hall alone. ’This place reminds me of the big family dinners we used to have as a family at Grandma’s.’ Used to being the key word there. After Keaton’s death things changed immensely for Valentina. Keaton was Valentina’s deceased twin brother. He died not even a year ago. If Valentina’s memory served her correctly, it had only been four and a half months since his death. Valentina was still a little sensitive about the whole ordeal as well. She hated when people asked her about her siblings. What was she supposed to tell them? That she had a brother but he died in a fire four months ago? Valentina didn’t plan on telling her classmates anything about her brother. Or her shattered family. Even her sad excise for a life was off limits to them. Valentina was going to keep her life a secret from everyone. After all, it was secrets that caused the entire mess. The one that took her brother’s life. Valentina glanced around her, back and forth making sure to take in everything she could. Soon she would be sorted. That meant that she would no longer have to wonder what house she would be sorted into. Valentina would finally know where she belonged. Which house would be hers until the day she graduated from Hogwarts. But no matter how much she tried to forget, Valentina would always wonder what house her brother would have been sorted into if he was here with her.

Valentina released a sigh when they all finally gathered around the sorting hat. She was just ready to get this over with. Especially because she was tired. Valentina had gotten little sleep beforehand. Her mind was running rampant with thoughts of her brother and school. Now she was paying for it. But all the excitement of being here was keeping her from yawning and falling asleep where she stood. Valentina tried to spot her cousin Zayne. But she was having a hard time doing so. What house was he in again? Valentina heard her name being called and glanced around. She wished there were fewer eyes on her right now. Especially since she was doing the best she could to remain anonymous to these people. Valentina sat down onto the stool and remained motionless. She wondered if her brother would be proud. If he was here what house would he have been in? Was going to school really the right thing for her? Valentina starting to bite her lip again. She was nervous about where she would be placed.

"I think you'll find it most beneficial being among the kind folk of HUFFLEPUFF!"

Marlene shuffled in with the rest of her classmates, looking down at her feet so she wouldn't be given any needless attention by catching someone's gaze. Aside from already being a nervous person she was put into an entirely foreign situation in which she was grouped into houses to learn magic. It was vaguely confusing to the young girl but that was what she had heard from other students on the train as she had read to herself. Now that she got to the Great Hall things became stranger and more confusing as it went on. A Hat was supposed to be put onto her head and decide her fate. She wasn't entirely sure how that worked and was curious to find out but figured she would have time to look it up in the library because it might be a bit rude to put her hand up and ask although that was exactly what she wanted to do.

Then the Hat began singing and Mars who had been keeping her head down this whole time had to look up. Brown eyes starred in shock and amazement at the voice and her face didn't leave that position as the Hat was put onto people's heads and into their houses. She was in such shock that she narrowly missed her own name being called.

Cox, Marlene.

There were a few giggles from some students which she ignored, trying to focus on her breathing as she walked up towards the stool and the talking hat. While looking over the crowd she sat down and wanted to be sick from all the attention that was being paid on her. She wondered if she was the only one that felt this way and hoped for the sake of the other person that they didn't because this was truly horrible. All the attention clouded her mind from thinking anything but 'Hurry up. Hurry up. Hurry up....'

"Not everything in life is a race. Hmmm… SLYTHERIN!"

Grant stepped into the large great hall with the other first years, among the more eager lot at the front of the group, following the Headmistress towards the raised platform where the professors were all sat at one long table. Looking around himself he grinned his toothy, slightly goofy big grin. Wow, he thought, staring up at the enchanted ceiling. There were no words to describe it. As the headmistress welcomed them all, explained what would be happening and began to call out the names, Grant listened intently, waiting for his own. Why did his surname need to begin with a W, this was taking far too long. He could barely stand still, looking at the faces around him, most nervous, some excited like his own, eyes glittering. He wondered for a moment where his sister, Mandy, was and how she was getting on. His eyes scanned the hall, trying to find her in the sea of older students. She was transferring into 5th year, and so wouldn't be sorted with the first years. Come to think of it, he hadn't even asked her how things would work, maybe she was still waiting, anxious to know where would be placed. Finally, Grant thought, as his name echoed throughout the room.
Sitting down on the stool the hat was placed upon his head, right, he thought, where do I belong Sir hat?

"GRYFFINDOR!"

Josefina held her head up high as she moved through the Great Hall to the front of the room. The young girl felt like all the eyes were on her as she waited for her chance to go up and be sorted. It was off for her to be here in New Zealand. Coming from a place where everyone knew each other and all worked together, being away from tha felt odd for her. But she knew she was going to be the best, she felt it in her bones. As others were called up before her said watched as each were sorted before her each going to different houses from the one before. She actually knew little of the magic world and had no idea what it meant to be in any of the houses. She knew she'd get into the best one, yet at the moment it was hard to tell which one was the best.

"San Buenaventura, Josefina," was called from the front. She made her way through the remaining students including her younger sister. Sitting on the bench she waited as the old hat was placed on her head. I know you'll put me in the right place, Sorting Hat, she thought as it was finally placed on her head. Not knowing where to look she looked at the door on the far wall and then glanced at her younger sister. They were so different and yet the same, it made her wonder if they'd get placed in the same house or not.

"SLYTHERIN!"

Bituin walked into the Great Hall behind her older sister. Looking at the back of her head she wondered how many questions they would get and how much explaining she'd have to do based on her sister's standoffish attitude about speaking to just about anyone. Bituin was ten months to the day younger then her sister yet they looked like identical twins. The young girl couldn't image what it been like for her mother when they were younger. They grew up having very similar mannerism yet now that they were older they were more independant from each other. Josefina was much more in charge and a leader while Bintuin herself was more of a quiet backseat driver. She wasn't one to get pushed around by her older sister, in fact she had learned a lot from her on how to deal with people who put her down. Watching as her sister went up and got sorted she wondered if she should ask to be in the same house or not. She had been told that the hat would take your preference in consideration but didn't mean you'd get it.

"San Buenaaventura, Bituin," her name was called. This was it, it was time for her to decided who she wanted to be. Josefina's little follower like always or grow her own mind and go a different way. Sitting on the stool that was waiting for her the young girl glanced around the tables. She found her sister sitting at her new house and realized she didn't want to be a puppet while in school. She spent enough time being her sister's best friend, she wanted to make her own while at the school. Don't put me with my older sister, please she thought over and over again in her head. The hat was nice old things and she wished they all had to wear things like it to create more of a witchy look on everyone.

"Well, you could be a Slytherin with her - but if you really don't want that… RAVENCLAW!"

Ellie felt weird, well that would be understandable, she only learnt recently that she was a Half blood... or something which meant that she was half a witch.. or a full witch with half the capability's, she wasn't quite sure yet. Ellie followed the group of students out looking at everyone as they walked up to the stool with a hat which looked like it should have been put in the landfill a long time ago. Ellie none the less continued to walk with the group up to the steps, she felt uncomfortable, she hoped there was some paddocks or something around here where she could escape to so she could think.
Ellie looked around she felt extremely uncomfortable, maybe she had a bit of dirt smudged on her face, that happens quite a bit out at the farm. Ellie flicked her long hair back over her shoulder and waited patiently, with the amount of students around this would take for ever, like trying to load 1000 odd cattle onto various trucks, they were stubborn and sometimes a little slow, they weren't always intelligent creatures cattle.

Ellie was thinking about all the jobs that she didn't finish on the farm and sighed, she could have helped out a lot more before she went instead of walking around and trying to soak up the last bits of the place. Ellie was so side tracked she almost didn't hear her own name

'Linton, Ellie'

Ellie looked at the hat with a bit of a slow reaction and quickly hurried up to it, a hat deciding her fate was like a cow deciding when it wanted to be sold, rather silly. This was the Magical world she had to remind herself, she had to accept everything for what they were instead of judging, although she did like to judge a lot, the stupid cow which got herself stuck in the mud, the cows which strayed from the line to talk to the bulky bull. She sighed and realized she had the hat on her head all ready and it was about to talk, she could just sense it. She snapped back to attention and thought smart thoughts which went something along the lines of You know where to put me, Smart Hat and Ellie goes to the best house yay she waited and waited the air around her seemed to have been slowly sucked away and the time slowed, she wondered if she did have that dirt on her face

"GRYFFINDOR!"

Sarah walked into the Great Hall confidently, at the front of the two lines. A smug smile was on her face as she glanced around the Hall curiously. Of course she was here at Hogwarts. Where else was she going to go? Hogwarts was the best school after all. When they reached the hat and the Sorting Hat, she pushed her hair out of her face, and stood tall, thrusting her shoulders back. She would make sure that people remembered her, and that the others in her year would realise that she would be Queen B of their year.

She glanced around curiously at the others in her year, to see if anyone would be her rival. Of course there were some girls that looked... horrid. And others that looked like she could be friends with. Once they accepted that she would be leader of course. Her eyes fell on some students that looked as if they were going to break down crying, they were that nervous. She couldn't help but roll her eyes disdainfully at that fact. Why were they nervous? There was no need. They were just going to be sorted into a house... It wasn't exactly a life and death situation. If there was one thing that Sarah hated, it was cry-babies. She found them annoying. She hadn't cried that much when she was young... Only when her parents had been killed, and her sister had been kidnapped. She had to grow up tough, and she looked down on others who weren't as tough as her.

Her eyes fell to the front as the Headmistress began speaking, explaining a bit about each house. Sarah had already heard about the other houses through those who also lived at the orphanage so she tuned out. From what she had heard from the others, Slytherin seemed the best house to be by far... She just hoped that she was good enough for it. For the first time that she could remember, doubt began to fill her mind. Would she be good enough? Would she fail and be sorted into another house? Biting her lip nervously, and tasting the apple lip gloss, she barely noticed the clapping at the end of the Headmistress' speech. Bringing her hands together once absent-mindedly, she noticed more of the students looked terrified now, and she hoped that she wasn't one of them. Schooling her features into a nonchalant expression, the way she had learned to when she was young, she hoped that she looked more confident now. Looks were everything in her world, and she couldn't bear to shatter the reputation she had now.

Her name was in the middle, because of the 'K' so she had to wait a while, her heart pounding fast, until finally 'Keith, Sarah!' was called. Standing up straight, and walking forward confidently, making sure that her expression didn't show how nervous she actually was, Sarah could feel all eyes on her, and a small smile spread across her face. That was the way it should be. Sitting down on the stool, she crossed her legs, and waited for the hat to speak, her heart pounding faster than before. This was it.

"You may find what you're looking for in HUFFLEPUFF!"

Sarah's mouth dropped open when she heard what house was called out, but she quickly schooled her features into a nonchalant expression, hoping that no one had seen her lapse. Standing up gracefully, and making her way towards the cheering house, she realised that this might actually be better. People would automatically judge her as weak, since she's in the house that accepts everyone, and would let their guard down, allowing her to get in close to them, and find out their secrets. So with that thought, she smiled at everyone at the table, and sat down. 'Hi, I'm Sarah!' She exclaimed.

Lillian made her way up the main steps of hogwarts with her entourage. "hmm not as bog as I thought it would be."she said to them. As she walked into the main hall she relised that she was wrong. This place is huge. As she waited for her name to be called she looked at all the different people in the hall. "Lillian Grifith." as she sat she started thinking about what house she wouldn't to be in. "slytheryn please mr hat or ravenclaw either is good for me" she said to the hat

"I decide what is good for you, and neither of those houses seem to suit you properly at all. GRYFFINDOR!"

Kyle and the other students entered the Great Hall. His first glimpse of the place filled him with a warmth and the icy coldness which he had been experiencing during the boat ride seemed to have been lifted in that instant. He could see the faces of many other Hogwarts Students all looking at the group of first years who were about to be sorted.Maybe some of them had brothers and sisters and they wished that they would make it into the same house. The thought of sorting beginning in about a minute made him nervous. Okay, Kyle was not normally nervous about things, he was adventurous and daring but this was something he could not help but feel nervous about.

Kyle thought of his parents who had been Hogwarts students too. His Mpm and the entire family on his Mom's side had been in Gryffindor for ages. Kyle's dad however had been a muggle born and had been sorted to Ravenclaw. He knew his parents would not mind being sorted into either houses but he preferred Gryffindor because it suited his personality and he wasn't much of a smarty pants anyways.

As the Professor started calling out names of students, they took a seat on the three legged stool and he noticed that many of them were as nervous as he was. The Sorting Hat was placed on their heads and it shouted out the houses they now belonged too. He crossed his fingers as he heard the Proffesor say "Cavanaugh, Kyle".

He made his way to the front and sat on the stool, all eyes in the Hall staring at him. He swallowed hard as the sorting hat was placed on his head. It did not fall past his forehead because he had quite a lot of bouncy hair. He wished one last time to be in Gryffindor like his mom and then waited for the Sorting Hat to decide what house he truly belonged to

"As you wish. GRYFFINDOR!"

After eleven long years of waiting for this day, Indi found herself almost dreading it. Not because she didn't want to become a proper witch but because she didn't know anyone at all because she'd never been to New Zealand before as she lived in England but for some reason her parents thought that it was a good idea for her to go to this school where 'You Know Who' had never been although she had to admit that she didn't know who 'You Know Who' was so she couldn't exactly understand it but followed their instruction anyway. It seemed sort of important to them for her to go to this school for whatever reason. She'd have to look it up later in the library and thoughts about this momentarily distracted her as she shuffled in with the crowd, finding herself unable to chatter amongst them at how large the Great Hall was or what house she wanted to get into because she really didn't know.

Despite living in a house with magic Indigo had been raised to be pretty much in the dark about the entire thing. It wasn't that she wasn't curious as sin, because she was. Her parents just got really tense whenever she asked a question or whenever she mentioned Hogwarts which had always seemed so distant to her, like it was a school in the clouds or something. It was a silly thought, she'd always known it was, but now that she was here she couldn't help but feel somewhat... disappointed. The Sorting Hat helped a great deal... with it being a singing hat and all. Then names were called and Indi wondered if they thought similarly as she. If they thought that it was pretty peculiar to let an article of clothing decide their fate. It seemed that she wasn't the only one thinking this as the Hat was making sassy remarks to whatever had been in the person's brain about the magic it had. It made her chuckle softly until her name came up.

"Cohen, Indigo."

Indi pushed her long brown hair out of her face as she walked up the steps and took a seat, closing her eyes as the oversized hat sunk onto her head to make it's decision. She wondered what it would see in her when she was so much in the dark, fearing she might seem stupid for her forced ignorance. Her parents seemed to think that it would make her stronger to know nothing until the very last moment but she didn't say anything about it. Just listened and watched curiously as they fought over whether or not to tell her things before she left.

"RAVENCLAW!"
