Raising six children was no picnic. Nicolette could tell any young woman looking to be a mother one day that it was probably the world's hardest job. Having just one kid was hard actually, no having six kids was an utter nightmare sometimes. It was even worse when one considered that these children were born of magical blood too. Nicolette always had to keep an eye out in case they accidentally did something out of the ordinary. So far there had been no magical incidents. At least until today when Bothizar accidentally set the curtains on fire. Of course Nicolette panicked. Damianos was being trained to use magic at a young age but it wasn't by her so it wasn't like she knew how to really handle it. Well she wasn't sure if Damianos was being trained to use magic but she still didn't have to worry about it like she did this. At first she wasn't even sure what had happened but when she heard the toddlers crying she of course had to run over and see what was the problem. To her shock she saw the curtains engulfed in orange flames. When she got them under control and the curtains were free of flame she managed to get it out of her two eldest what had happened. They were playing a game and Bothizar set the curtains on fire. It didn't take her long to get the big picture. Her son showed signs of being able to use magic. Which was a relief because it meant that he would become a fine wizard some day. But she worried that he might do other dangerous things to hurt himself. "Next time something like that happens you immediately come tell me alright hun?" Nicolette as she swept a hand through Bothizar's soft blonde hair. He nodded at her silently and took off the aloe wrapped cloth she had given him to make sure his fingers weren't hurting because of his little accident. when Kalif came home she should probably tell him. He would probably have a better idea of what to do then she would. He had raised other children up before she was around him. Nicolette checked over his hands again to make sure that everything was all right before she tucked her own wand away and lifted him off the counter and back onto the floor. The toddler thanked her by hugging her legs and telling her that he loved her. It was hard not to smile at. Then as quickly as he was there he bounded away from her to go and catch back up with his brothers. It was sad that they were growing up as quickly as they were. Her first two babies were already five. It was strange to think that a little over five years ago her life was so much different than it was now. A tired escape left Nicolette and she placed the healing supplies away.

Nicolette left the kitchen and headed upstairs. Being this tired and stressed couldn't be all that healthy. Keeping an eye on six kids even with the help of any servants or elves was quite the chore. Nicolette got very little sleep during the school year either. Mostly it was because she missed Kalif. He was at the school and she went for long spans of time without seeing him. It got very lonely without him here and most of the time Nicolette got so bored because she had no one to bother. Teaching and keeping the kids occupied often took up a lot of her time but it would be nice to have someone to spend some time with after they went to sleep. The school year was just about up though and Nicolette could honestly not wait till he got home. Though once he did she was sure their arguments would fire right on um, then the afterwards, then more arguments. Then those rare calm moments. Honestly that was what she loved about it though. It kept things interesting. Hissing in pain when Nicolette tiredly ran right into the corner. She needed to pay more attention. It was nearing evening time and Nicolette was beat. Last night there wasn't a lot of sleep to be had either so that might be why. Nicolette opened the door to her and Kalif's bedroom and kicked off the heels she was wearing before she collapsed right onto the soft mattress. Mentally she was promising that she would never leave the bed again, ever. That she was sorry for abandoning it. Nicolette curled the cool covers over her thin body and her head met the pillow. Before she could even help it she fell fast asleep, breathing in and out softly.

Thankfully the couple did not have to deal with any newborns and would not have to deal with them. Kalif was done having children, because he was just getting too irritated and impatient. For breaking some rules, he managed to make one of his Slytherin's life a living hell, and he did not sympathize at all. He did not care and would not care for a long time. Kalif was just that harsh on his students. It was not that he wanted to be, it was just the way that he was. Kalif was like that even to his own children and he would always be like that. There would be no changing this Slytherin Head of House. And right now, not even going inside, he was wondering why Kailie was sorted into Slytherin, rather than any other house. She did not seem to act much like himself, however she had grown up and changed over the years. From the bubbly girl to someone that just reminded him a bit like Hades, his firstborn son. He would need to check up on some things about his daughter. Right now, after much aggravation from his daughter Kailie and his son Nicolas, Kalif was making a pool for the backyard. It was large, and all he had left to do was fill it up with water. The shallow end was of course around three feet deep, but the deepest end was about twenty. Kalif was not too keen on swimming but whatever kept his children occupied and out of his hair. He would need to get someone to watch them, but he did not know who was old enough now that Kailie was in school, and Kaleb was... Well, Kalif didn't really know. All he remembered was that when he went to his son's graduation, Kaleb was not there and he left infuriated. It had taken weeks for Kalif to calm down, but still, he did not know where his son was, and it was concerning him a bit. Kalif was debating on hunting him down himself, but he was waiting for a sign, and then he could send out their own tracker, Hades.

No one could hide from Hades, because he was the champion of trackers, no one could beat him from what he knew. Kalif was rather proud that his son had such an amazing ability such as that. The pool was finally filled up by the time that Kalif was finished. He looked around seeing as it was getting a little late. Flicking his wand, the lights around the backyard and patio lit up. He went into the house and he went upstairs in search of his wife. However when he entered the bedroom, seeing her asleep on the bed. Raising his eyebrow, he thought that it would not do at all. Rather than just leaving her or even waking her up, Kalif bent down and he lifted Nicolette over his shoulder, and he carried his sleeping wife all the way down the stairs. She must have been tired enough to sleep through this. He walked outside, and he approached the pool. Smirking slightly, he wondered if Nicolette would hate swimming as much as a cat truly would. Without really caring as much about what she would think, Kalif lifted the sleeping woman off of his shoulder and tossed her right into the deep end of the pool, making such a loud splash, it was enough to wake anyone up if they were not being woken up by the water first. It was a dirty trick to play on someone but he did not care in the slightly. He stood where he was, smirking deviously, with his arms over his chest. He waited patiently for the bomb to explode, because that was the only way he could describe his wife when Kalif did things like this. It was not very often at all, but when he did, they were never small at all. Instead, they were just like explosions or earthquake, because something was going to give.

Nicolette was in a half-sleeping state when Kalif picked her up. Her body was aware that she was being picked up and and moved by someone. But she was unable to tell if she was just dreaming the feeling or if she was really being moved by someone or something. 'Wait...' Nicolette began to awaken up a little bit and felt that she was being moved. Or currently she was moving. Her body was being carried against something strong and very built. Which she suspected immediately to her another body, likely Kalif's since he was the only one she had been expecting to be home. Hopefully it was him and not some weird kidnapper or Auror trying to take her away from her home. Nicolette doubted it was anyone but her husband but she just couldn't be to sure anymore, things had been getting weirder and weirder when it came to the things that happened to her. Nicolette breathed out and shifted her arm, it accidentally grazed the back of whomever it was that was carrying her. Nicolette knew right then, just the feel and form of of the back instantly allowed Nicolette to tell that she was being carried off somewhere by her very own husband. 'What in the world is he doing?' His toned shoulder was kind of hurting her stomach. Nicolette knew that he was probably going to do something that she didn't like. He always had to give her a hard time didn't he? He knew it was going to get her going too. That was probably his intention too. To instigate a fight and have an argument between them going on for a couple of hours or so until they either made up and then relaxed for a couple of hours or one of them gave in. Normally giving in was the last option either considered. Nicolette was about to ask her husband what he was doing but instead she felt her body being tossed and suddenly engulfed in cold wetness. Nicolette opened her mouth out of surprise but that was probably the stupidest thing she had done.

Floating to the surface, Nicolette sputtered and coughed trying to regain breath and get an understanding of what in the world just happened. So there was a pool outside, she knew that. But what did come as a surprise to her was how there was now water inside of it. Gold eyes narrowed as Nicolette stared at her husband with as much anger as she could manage. If she could burn holes with her eyes, she just might have done it. That was how angry she was at the moment. "You threw me....in a pool?" Nicolette growled under her breath. She swam to the edge of the pool and used the edge to climb out of the pool easily. Water dripped from her clothing and her hair in great amounts. The cardigan she had been wearing on top felt like a hundred pounds right now. Once she caught her breath she wrung the water from her hair and stood up and kept her glare plastered on Kalif. She stepped a bit further from the pool and close to her husband. "You threw me....IN A F*CKING POOL?!" Nicolette gestured to the pool. Her eyes ignited with anger. Her wet hair clung to her face and she took off the cardigan she was wearing. "What was that for? You know I don't like water Kalif! Ugh, you make me so-......ugh men!" Nicolette growled under her breath and picked her clothing up from off the ground, and started to storm off to the house. Her dress was practically see through and since she wasn't wearing her cardigan it was giving more of a show than she wanted it to be. Nearly three feet from where Kalif was Nicolette tripped. A squeak escaped her when she stumbled but she managed to catch herself. "Pretend that never happened!" Nicolette yelled out and kept stepping on until she had reached he door. She gave one last look to Kalif. "Oh and by the way, welcome home." Nicolette rolled her eyes and opened the door before she slammed it behind her. Gosh what in the world was his problem? Sure he liked to pick on her but really, the pool? If she didn't love him then she probably would have been so much more upset.

Despite the fact that she had woken up when the water embraced her. This was going to be rather interesting because Kalif found that torturing his wife like so was one of the most amusing things he had ever discovered while he had been alive on this earth. Nicolette had managed to deal with many things but how she dealt with her husband was another matter all together. They had been married for years now, and had six pure-blooded children. Both were Death Eaters, but whereas Kalif had become a grandfather through Hades, Nicolette would not be a grandmother for years, not one by her blood children that is. Kalif was curious however, if she would have wanted any anytime soon. His intentions today were merely out of curiosity and he was not going to stop just there either. This may not be the first time that Nicolette would be thrown into the pool. Kalif may very well do it again at random times, perhaps even in winter. Just seeing her reaction were nothing more than hilarious yet he did not smile or laugh, he just smirked even more and more. Kalif saw that she was getting more and more angry by the passing second but Kalif could not resist smirking even more at her reaction. If he had a camera that would produce moving pictures, he would gladly take a picture right now for memories. When she growled that she had thrown her into the pool, twice, Kalif raised an eyebrow a bit. He might as well taunt her even more. He murmured, "I think it was rather obvious that I threw you into a pool. After all, you are completely soaked." Kalif stating the obvious was something that he was known for doing.

However during one of the statements, Nicolette had managed to even curse and not in the good way of harming another. This was merely would have been just verbal that he would have heard teenagers heard. Kalif was used to it however but he did not appreciate it much. It did not anger him or anything, but he stood where he was, arms folded across his chest and he wondered what she would attempt to do. If she was going to attempt to push him in, she had another thing coming. He was a large man, and he would not go without a fight. He looked down at his wife with burning gold eyes that would have killed if looks could indeed kill. However he held his stance, and was going to remain where he was for the time being. He wondered what was she thinking when she pulled off her cardigan. Because now she was showing off more than she should be. What if their neighbors saw something? He knew that she did not like water, but surely she took showers and everything like that. He watched her as she stormed off, but then she just tripped, and he smirked deviously. She could not even make a mad exit without making a fool of herself which was rather funny to him. She had caught herself, but Kalif walked after her. He opened the door that led him inside, but he walked faster than before. It was only a matter of time when he was close enough to her that he picked up his wife again, and he set her on the couch. He flourished his wand and he used a spell to dry her clothing at least. "I don't want my brothers to come in unexpectedly and show them more than they should ever see. Besides, you might get sick."

Nicolette could easily be compared to tornado right now. Deadly to anyone unfortunate enough to get caught in her path of destruction. Only Nicolette wasn't really really destroying anything, and if any of the children came along it would be unlikely that she would even appear angry. As they were still young and didn't understand the bearings of being an adult, she tried not to openly display her anger in front of them all the time. Perhaps Kalif thought the same way and that was why he normally picked on her when they were alone. Either that or it truly was a way of bonding and he preferred not to share his amusement with anyone else. Once the door was closed behind Nicolette she tried to think straight. Did she want to get dressed and go blow off some anger somewhere or did she want to dry off and try to pick at Kalif for ruining her night. How dare he think it's acceptable to throw her into a pool? Especially when she was sleeping. It used to be that he tortured her when she came into his office and bothered him. Now it seemed that he just did it when he felt like it. Nicolette had been half expecting him to come home and relax before he had to go back to classes, but nope. First thing he did was give her a hard time. 'I'm starting to think that's how he relaxes. Driving me nuts.' Nicolette wrung out some of the chlorinated water from her hair. From the corner of her eyes she could see that Kalif was heading inside. She prayed that he was going to his office and intended to leave her alone for the time being. Nicolette loved him dearly and did want to spend some time with him during his time off. But at the exact moment she wanted to hit him upside the head for being, well, for being a jerk. Or rather for bothering her when she was minding her own business. When he was finally in the house and appeared to be approaching her, Nicolette rolled her golden orbs and tried to step away. To her dismay, he was much quicker than she was and next thing she knew, she was being lifted off the ground. He had picked her up. Instead of going to the pool though she was being taken somewhere else. ”Kalif put me down! I'm not in the mood for this!” Nicolette struggled, hoping to get out of his grasp if she did so. No such luck though because next thing she knew, she was being set down on the couch. Kalif was at least kind enough to dry her clothing and hair off with spell. But Nicolette was too mad to appreciate it at the moment. He reasoning made Nicolette snort before she narrowed her eyes and crossed her arms over her chest. Why did he find it necessary to drive her nuts like he did? Was she going to have to start retaliating more and more to remind him that this game can be played two ways?

”I doubt that you really care that much.” Nicolette held up her hand and got off the couch. Practically dismissing Kalif in the meanest way she could possibly manage when it came to him. No matter how angry she got she could never be as mean to Kalif as she could to others. He was a weakness. Walking around Kalif she sniffled as she attempting to gain the warmth that she had lost when she was thrown into the pool back. Nicolette was debating on turning into her animagus form and hiding under one of the many beds within the house so she could take a nap and have little chance of being found. That actually sounded perfect. Nicolette waited until she was all the way up the stairs and out of view before she willed her body to turn into the small furry form of a white cat. Kalif probably wouldn't even look for her so she was safe, right? Nicolette's paws padded against the floor lightly and she took time looking from room to room until she found one that wasn't commonly used. She was easily able to slide under the bed with her smaller form and to her luck the carpeted floor was comfy enough for her to sleep on. Curling up into a ball, Nicolette, as a cat, intended to sleep off her anger and chilled feeling form the water away, under the comforts of this bed. Sometimes being a cat had it's advantages.

The Death Eater rolled his eyes before he thought that was the biggest lie that she could have ever told. Then again, if he did care, then he would actually retaliate with something else other than, "You are right. I don't," before he folded his arms across his chest, and watched her go up the stairs. One thing about being married, there was never a dull moment in the house. With his past marriage, everything was dull. This one kept him amused, but there was always the annoyance of her animagus form that he had to deal with from time to time. As soon as the footsteps ended on the stairs, he heard that there was no more, which could only meant two things. She stopped walking, or she turned into that flea-bitten white cat. With Kailie no longer here, she could turn into the form as often as she pleased. Nicolette could no longer get pregnant either, so Kalif had no excuse to keep her out of the form. Well, he had an advantage. He had Legilimency, so he could attempt to read her mind though it would be exceedingly difficult because he had no idea where she was. However he would have to get something else. Kalif started walking up the stairs, as silent as the grave. His onyx eyes looked down at the floor, before he figured that Nicolette would want to go where Kalif would never even look. So it would be one of the unused rooms, one with an open door. Instead of looking in the rooms, he thought that to make things easier, he would instead have some assistance. He managed to find Nicolette's cat, Mischief, before he ordered the cat to go look for Nicolette. Perhaps having a cat in the house was not that bad even if he hated the damn thing when it rubbed all over him and often tried to go into his office when he was trying to be alone. He followed after the furry beast that looked like it was smacked in the face with a frying pan as it looked through some of the rooms that did not have any habitants. The children would just have to wait. Kalif was more clever than it appeared at times. His mind was always churning with ideas.

Entering the bedroom, he shooed Mischief away, before Kalif stood in the room for a sheer moment. He smirked lightly, walked toward the mattress before he flourished his wand. He used the magic after waving it, to hover the box spring and mattress. Indeed, his assumptions were correct. Nicolette had turned into that stupid cat form to attempt to escape. There was a reason why Hades was so good at tracking people. He had his father's genes. Leaving the furniture hovering, he put his wand away, before he bent down, and lifted the sleeping form into his hand. Kalif was being extremely care not to wake her up. Using his other hand he lowered the mattress and box spring down, before he left the room with a cat in his gloved hand. He was glad he did not have to deal with touching the fur and other places when Nicolette was in this form. It was utterly uncomfortable. Who knew what he was touching. It was his wife, but still. Kalif continued to walk down the corridors before he entered his office where he preferred to get work done, and not get disturbed. Kalif closed the door behind him with ease as he placed the white ball of fur on the corner of his desk, and went to the bookshelf. His gloved fingers touched the cases of the books, before he found what he needed. Taking the dusty old book from the shelf, he opened it and sat down behind his desk to get some work done. It was something Benjamen had asked of him, to find some rare potion ingredients. Kalif luckily had this however some of these were going to have Benjamen lokoing for a long time. They were calling some of these plants by their old names. He opened the book, got out some parchment, ink and his quill. He started listing down some of the potion ingredients. These potion ingredients were incredibly poisonous, and some would cause boils and welts to come up when touched. However Kalif was leaving out that bit while he was doing the favor that his younger flesh and blood had asked of him. This would teach him to not look up the information himself half the time.

Sometimes Nicolette hated going to sleep. It was a good right hours wasted out of her day and half the time she woke up feeling just as crappy as she did when she went to sleep. It was like nothing had changed except eight hours of her life was now absent. If she could eliminate sleeping, then she would do it in a heartbeat. But sometimes, she really needed it. It prevented her from becoming ten times as cranky as she normally was. The family would probably agree with those terms because they were usually the ones that felt her wrath. 'Even if they sometimes deserve it.' The thought prodded her mind as Nicolette began to wake herself up a little bit. The surface she was resting on felt a little stiff so she figured the sooner she woke her body up, the better. Nicolette could've sworn that she had fallen asleep on some carpet but it didn't feel at all like it. Large golden eyes opened. Nicolette had nearly forgotten that she was still in her Animagus form. After having the ability to do that for nearly thirty years she grew used to the feeling of being in both forms. Sometimes she forgot if she was in her animagus form until she took a moment to pay attention to her surroundings. Things looked a lot sharper to her when she was a cat. Nicolette stretched her small furry legs out and proceeded to sit up. 'This is definitely the place I fell asleep at.' Nicolette thought to herself as she got a good look at the room. It actually appeared to be Kalif's office. Why the hell was she in here? There was no way he could have found her that quickly! Nicolette shifted to her human form and breathed out. It was then that she noticed that she wasn't alone in the office either. Nicolette turned and let her eyes rest onto Kalif's form. "Sorry." Nicolette muttered removed herself from the desk. She didn't think he would be in here. He normally hated it when she came in here. So she didn't think he would want her in here with him. But apparently either the circumstances have changed or she was in trouble. Nicolette adjusted her dress and stared down at the desk. She had no idea what Kalif was doing but she could assume it either had something to do with school or family business. It was unusual that she was being and docile for as long as she had. But Nicolette was actually trying to think of something to say, and to keep her temper down for the moment. She was still furious that he had thrown her into the pool. After a minute of her just staying she snorted and crossed her arms over her chest. Kalif seemed to enjoy getting her going.

"Why did you bring me in here?" She asked. Her tone lacking any sound of enthusiasm or joy. Nicolette didn't know why he brought her in here if he normally hated it when she came in here. Wasn't he going to just let her sulk in peace? Probably not. He was going to try and get her angrier and angrier most likely until they were in a full-blown argument. It was cycle. A never-ending cycle between the two of them. Nicolette was beginning to transition into the second phase too. Which was likely what he wanted. Could he ever be kind and just let her have her way for once? Well she did get her way at times. But when it came to an argument he never seemed to let her have the upper hand for long. "You always complain about wanting to be left alone. But when I want to be left alone and I give you the chance to be alone, you always do something like this?" Nicolette asked as she leaned against his desk. Making sure not to hit anything or make a huge mess with doing so. Sometimes she didn't understand him or the things he did. He was lucky she loved him. Or she wouldn't put up with it as much as she did. Nicolette figured that she should leave and let Kalif get to his work. That and she was dead set on trying to stay mad at him. At first she had been hoping to just spend time with him before he had to go back to work. But that wasn't going to happen it seemed. "I'll leave you to your work. I've got something I need to do." Nicolette stated as she unfolded her arms and progressed to the door. He needed to get whatever it was that he was doing finished, and Nicolette needed to, do something.
<i>

Kalif rarely needed a reason to do anything. Just as he had finished doing what Benjamen had asked of him to do, he sealed up the parchment in a roll before having one of the birds of some species (probably a raven) take it to the Zhefarovich manor to Benjamen. Still after almost forty years, the boy was still living there, and Kalif did not really care to understand why. It was not like Kalif cared about any of his siblings, just some that he got along with better than others. Prodan was by far the worst of them because of the way he acted, but luckily that Muggle-loving professor stayed out of his hair. Kalif did not even notice that Nicolette was waking up until she stretched and sat up. His eyes went from the book that he was looking over to her white form. Kalif knew that being an Animagus took a lot of training and whatnot, but he felt that turning into an animal was practically useless, and nothing like Legilimency, but to each their own. It may have been useful for Nicolette, but it was just a nuisance for Kalif, mostly because he detested cats to the point where he could watch one die and he would shrug it off and leave it. He would do this to most animals actually, because his ability to not care was just impressive. The moment that she turned into a human, her body managed to shove the book he was reading into his lap, closing it. Not like it mattered, he had read the book countless times before. Kalif heard her apology before she moved herself from his desk, and Kalif leaned back against the chair before he folded his arms across his chest. It was rare that he even let someone in here, but it was just because he had things to do. Right now, the only thing that he needed to do was ensure that he got plenty of rest. He had nothing to do for the family unless they asked of them, but he would have to find his father eventually. His behavior was bound to catch the attention of unwanted figures. Perhaps it was a good thing that he was staying at the manor for the time being. Kalif wondered if she was going to question on how she got in here. Kalif was clever. He was not going to share the truth at all, not willingly.

"Prove that I did," stated Kalif in his usual, cold tone. Unless she could recall a memory of him carrying her in here, he would then allow her to win the argument if one arises from this situation. "All you could know was that one of our kids did this, or even that cursed cat of yours." Mischief found Nicolette for him, but it did not bring her in here. That was all the Death Eater's doing. Kalif was perhaps in the wrong for throwing her into the pool while she was asleep, but he might not do it again - not while she was asleep. Her reaction alone could amuse him for days. The Death Eater slowly stood to his full height before he looked down at the woman that he married, and he stood next to the side of the desk, though his expression was the same as always, unreadable. If it was one thing that he was going to do, he was going to ensure that she did not stay angry forever. Or at least distract her temporarily. He could always summon Hades here and she could take the anger out on him but that was only if he did not want to deal with it. He would not mind dealing with it now because he was, for the lack of a better term, bored. "Now it sounds like you have a problem with that. Years this has been going on and you bring it up now?" Why not have brought it up before Bothizar was born? That was an interesting question indeed. He was not going to go into depth on why he acted like that. It was just the way he was. Nicolette was stuck with Kalif, whether she liked it or not, but he was sure that the latter was not the case. When she said that she was going to leave him to his work, and that she had something she needed to do, he could automatically tell that it was a lie. As far as he knew, she did not have anything do to, except perhaps sleep and she already took a cat nap. Instead of just walking to the door after her, he apparated to where he was in front of the door inside of the office, leaning back to close it before it locked. "Don't say you have something to do when you don't. I can see right through that." Kalif started to tap his gloved fingers against his arm as his lips curled into a subtle, sly smirk.

Nicolette didn't expect Kalif to cooperate. He rarely ever did when she actually wanted him to unless he felt like actually doing it, which was indeed also rare. Nicolette would never tell him this but she sometimes loved it when he got stubborn with her. It gave her a challenge when it came to getting through to her husband. Most would think it's difficult to get through to him but Nicolette found the way he was to be pleasant sometimes. There were times when it was a huge pain too. But a majority of the time she loved it when he gave her a challenge. Hopefully he didn't mind it so much when she gave him one either. Their marriage and relationship with one another seemed unusual to most. But to Nicolette she wouldn't really have it any other way. To her, the way they were around one another, was far more than normal. They just interacted a bit differently, nor were they overly mushy like some people. They had their moments that no one else knew about but they certainly were not the most cuddly couple out there. But right now, Nicolette wasn't getting that happy enjoyable feeling she normally got whenever she argued with Kalif. Which was mostly likely because of how mad she was that he had thrown her in the pool while she was asleep. When Nicolette was mad she had a tendency to be upset for awhile. Even he knew that but he seemed to be pretty damned bent on trying to see how much angrier he could make her. Or something. Nicolette wasn't sure why he insisted on doing this. Even if she claimed it easily could have been someone else that moved her, she doubted it was anyone but him. "Why would any of the kids bother to pick me up and bring me in here? Even they know you don't like it when I'm in here. Secondly, mischief is a cat. He couldn't move me anywhere. So all that's left is you." Nicolette muttered as she crossed her arms over her chest and stared up at Kalif. She made have been a bit blonde and clumsy at times, but she wasn't stupid. But why did he move her though? If he hated it when she was in here so much, why would he bring her in here? That's what she didn't understand. Chances were that if she questioned him, he wouldn't tell her either. Because that was just the way he was sometimes. "So...are you going to tell me why you brought me in here?" Nicolette sounded a bit sassy when she asked this, but she figured that this wasn't going to make much of a difference to Kalif whether she had an attitude or not. He was still going to be difficult for her. One way or another she would figure out what his issue was. Even if he didn't tell her she was going to try and figure it out because she was confused. However it seemed that Kalif had something more important to add in.

"Because lately it's been happening a lot more than it usually does." Nicolette retorted with a roll of her eyes. At least to her it felt like it had been happening a lot more than it used to, back then it didn't really register to her as being something out of the ordinary. But it had been happening a bit more than it used to. There wasn't something wrong with him was there? Or maybe there was something wrong with her? It was hard to decide what the issue was, or even if there was one. It just seemed to her like he was acting differently than he normally did. A lot of people were acting different actually. Nicolette hadn't really noticed it until now. Her brother for one had been acting very strange. Even if he was generally weird to begin with. It was not to the point where it begun to worry Nicolette because she was beginning to think he was up to something that could become problematic to her. What if he found out what she was? Nicolette could care less in general what he thought about it, she loved what she did. It helped her out so much. What did worry her was the possibility of him opening his big mouth. Especially with their cousin being the Deputy Minister. That could possibly involve more trouble than it is worth. Nicolette was about to reach the door when Kalif apparated in front of it. He then leaned back to close it shut before it was locked as well. Nicolette stopped dead in her tracks and rolled her golden eyes. "Oh how would you know?" Nicolette asked. This was getting to be a little silly. How would he know what she had to do and what she didn't? Unless he had been reading her mind lately, and she had asked him to quit doing that. Kalif begun to smirk and tap his fingers against his arm, even further setting off her temper. After a moment she figured that he wasn't going to move himself and made her way over to him. Leaning her body against his she tried to nudge him out of the way so she could open the door. He was a lot bigger than she was though, so it probably wasn't going to get her far. "Come on Kalif, move out of the way!" Nicolette said under her breath as she tried again. Being just about half his size made it difficult to do anything that involved physical strength. To him, this was probably funny.

Kalif continued to wonder what she would say or do. Though she still lacked any proof that he was the one that brought her in here. For all he knew, she just showed up somehow, but even he knew the truth. Their marriage seemed to work out, even though they appeared to be fighting all the time. Yet they were never fighting, and they were simply torturing each other for the other's amusement. It was something that they had ever since they were in school. Even Professor Snape had seen their chemistry, however Kalif managed to steer clear of her after he had graduated and gotten in trouble thanks to Tristan Drage. He looked down at her and shrugged at her explanation. Kalif shrugged, "Like I would know. Perhaps Hades did it, everyone knows how sneaky and sly he can be. As far as Mischief goes, as a cat, I would imagine you know that you carry smaller prey in the mouth to the destination. This is surprising, you don't even know much about the form you transform into. I'm disappointed. Perhaps you should stop transfiguring into the bloody animal until you know more about it." Now this was perhaps teasing but he just hated cats. He did not hate Nicolette, but he just did not like animals at all. Kalif was not about to answer the question either. He rolled his onyx eyes before he continued to tap his fingers against his arm. Kalif was just bored, but he didn't want to tell the truth to Nicolette. He simply did not think that it was a good enough explanation for it. Just because someone was bored, one would not take another into a room and leave them in there. He didn't need a reason to do it either. He just did, because he wanted to. That was that. Kalif stated simply, "I still don't see proof from you that I did it. So I cannot tell you something I may or may not have done without proving that it may or may not be me." That was Kalif's answer to the question, and the expression he was wearing said it all. He was not going to spill what really happened. He was a Slytherin, and he was as stubborn as can be. It was definitely showing. Kalif did not even say another word on that conversation, because he was ending it right there. Kalif could definitely tell that Nicolette was confused, and it was giving him sheer amusement for seeing Nicolette like this. Kalif continued to smirk like he was because he knew that this was getting underneath Nicolette's skin. She may never know who brought her in here even though he was right in front of her.

"And again, you are complaining about it? Normally you complain about not being around me as much and now that I am around a little more, you should expect more of this." Kalif was getting worse at it as well. He did not plan on throwing her into the pool while she was asleep but it was a new one. It was something that humored him, didn't bring a laugh out of him or even a chuckle, but it gave him plain amusement, especially her reaction. "Ever since Father took a 'vacation' to look for something that can't be found with the two idiots in charge, everyone has been a little upset. I don't care though, so you are just going to have to live with it." He took one of his hands and placed a finger on her forehead. "Might as well get prepared, and step up the game." Kalif himself seemed a little restless but that was because on the inside, he was worried about his dad. He might not know what Asparuh was looking for, but he knew that it was probably something that could never be found anyhow. Kalif looked into her golden eyes, and debated on twisting a thought around so that he could plant what he was going to say into her mind, but he decided on not doing that. It would be invading her privacy, and he did respect that - sometimes. Other times, he just wondered what was going through her mind. Never when other members of the family were around. He did not want to hear her think that they were good looking or anything. "How do you think?" responded Kalif and allowed her to get her own thoughts to that. And the perfect thing that she managed to do was lean up against him, and tried to move him which was just hilarious because he was likely twice her size. She attempted it again, but he was not moving at all. Continuing to smirk like he was, he watched her with amusement before he grabbed the side of her neck with his gloved hand, not enough to bruise or bring any harm, he leaned down and gave her something that he had probably never done before, at least on his own. He had kissed his wife of his own free will before he taunted with a wicked smirk, "Now you can leave." Kalif sidestepped to the side, and opened the door with wandless magic. Now she can leave. Her reaction to catch her off guard, again.

Nicolette knew better than to open her mouth. Kalif was going to reply to anything she stated to him with more nonsense than before. It made her sometimes wonder if he pulled this on anyone else but her? He probably did it just to get her going. He always succeeded in getting her riled up too. Nicolette didn't know how, but he did. "Kalif, when in the past few months or so, has Hades had the time to come over here and do such a thing? Ever since he's met that girl he's enamored with, he's been very quiet. So I bet all my money on it not being him who moved me into your office." Nicolette winked. As if telling him that she knew it was him. Nicolette may have been a big air-headed at times but she wasn't that bad. It was kind of easy to figure out when one thought it. The difficult thing was trying to sort out why he did it. Kalif was a hard man to read. Unlike him she couldn't see into people's minds. So often she was left wondering what was going through his mind. Nicolette bet all the money in the world that if she asked Kalif to teach her how to use the ability he could, he'd tell her no. Or learn how to block her out. All that just to spoil her fun. So she never bothered to ask even if it was on her mind from time to time. Nicolette sometimes really wondered what her husband was thinking of. If she did chances were that she could understand him a lot easier than she did not. Nicolette swore that she would make him happy, but sometimes she wasn't sure if she was doing it right. Kalif always seemed so grouchy. Well, he seemed grouchy to everyone else. To her, he was just putting on a show. He kept himself as a different person in front of them but Nicolette thought she had seen another side from time to time. One that she wasn't sure she understood as much as she did his darker side. "You know why I think you moved me...because you missed me." Nicolette responded slyly as she adjusted her dress. Whether he was going to agree with her or not, that was her theory. Kalif might have missed her or he was truly trying to be a pain in the ass. Either way, she thought it was quite sweet of him. Though she was supposed to be angry with him. Oh she could not wait to see what he thought about this theory. She expected it to get him going. He hated to admit things like that.

"Only when you do things like throw me into a pool, Kalif." Nicolette told him. She did miss him when he was gone for a long time. But when he came back and tortured her she wasn't as pleased to see him as she could be. Nicolette frowned and crossed her arms over her chest silently when he spoke of his father going on vacation and everyone being upset. Nicolette didn't know what to say because she did not understand what was going on. Just that Asparuh was 'gone'. It didn't seem like even Kalif knew that much about the situation. She felt bad that he knew little, he was probably worried about his father. What also seemed harsh was how lonely poor Danielle must be. Her heart must be filled with worry as well. Trying to get out of the room was her main focus right now though. If anything she wanted to get out of this room right now though. Being upset with Kalif was never going to work if she stayed in here. Trying to shove him aside she knew it wasn't working as well as she had wanted. He was much larger in size than she was not to mention a lot more toned. So she barely even managed to make him budge. Nicolette nearly yelped in surprise when she felt Kalif grab the side of her neck with his gloved hand. It wasn't enough to harm her or anything but it severely surprised her. But not as much as the next thing Kalif did. He kissed her. Now of course Nicolette enjoyed it. But this was not something Kalif did. So as soon as they broke apart, she looked dumbfounded. Nicolette would be laying if she said she didn't like it. But she knew something was suspicious about it. Narrowing her eyes in an attempt to look intimidating, Nicolette stared at her husband. "I see what you're trying to do here. I'm not falling for it." Nicolette huffed at him, she failed at trying to be too mad at him. But she tried to act as if she was anyways. Sticking her tongue out at him she opened the door and fully expected to walk off. That was until she saw a pair of dark eyes, accompanied with another pair of silvery green. Blinking a moment Nicolette suddenly came to a conclusion. Hades was here, and he had that girl with him. Her eyes were wide, she looked needless to say, shocked.

Kalif was mentally laughing in his mind, probably just confusing his wife more and more. It was gift he seemed to have, even when he was young, decades ago. He still waited on the proof, if she had any. And to his amazement, she still continued on without giving up. He had a way of getting beneath her skin, and Kalif was not going to just left that gift go to waste either. "No comment on Mischief or the cat thing. Expected." He almost appeared bored with the way he was acting right now. Perhaps he was. Arguing with Nicolette could be entertaining, while it could also be a pain because she just could not bother with just giving in. She was missing some of the details of her story and explanation even though they were just accurate. What she was saying was true. Ever since Hades had that girlfriend of his, Hades had been rather quiet and fixated on her. Kalif had mix feelings about it. He was almost sure that this woman wouldn't last too long, but she had lasted this far. And Hades was coming around less and less. Perhaps his son finally found his soulmate. It only took a few hundred. Kalif wondered if any of his others would have found the same. He was also sure that Kaleb's little wife would not last either. Young love never worked, especially when it was rushed into a marriage using a loophole that Asparuh had yet to fix. Kalif once more rolled his eyes, before stated, "I still have yet to see that proof." He was not agreeing or disagreeing. He could not answer the question anyhow. Or rather, he preferred not to. Kalif was not one to let others see what he really thought of things, how he felt about things. The reason why he was like that was because he was raised like a soldier. The Death Eater narrowed his eyes at her, a warning somewhat to tell her to drop the subject, and drop the theories. It was not like he was going to answer them, so he would let her think what she thought.

"If you don't be careful, it will be a weekly thing," warned the Death Eater. He was not exactly promising that it would happen, because he could if he wanted to. That is, if he came home every day just to do that to Nicolette. It was tempting, but he did not think that he would have to do that anyhow. When it came down to Asparuh really being gone, he did not know what others thought of it. Reason why, even with Danielle, they all should have saw it coming. Kalif kind of had, ever since Arnost had died. Danielle might have been lonely and all, but Kalif thought differently. A marriage should not have to be around one and another constantly. Sometimes, people needed breaks. He did not want to have his thoughts linger on it for now. Instead, he simply smirked a little at her expression, as if he had turned into a dragon. It was priceless. It was something that he had enjoyed seeing. He looked at the doorway, seeing the two dark headed people, before he had heard what she had said. That he was up to something and she was not falling for it. Kalif shrugged, "Fine, whatever you say. By the way, Hades and Etoile are coming over for dinner, so for Merlin's sake, get dressed." Kalif brushed past her as he exited the office, and he made his way down the corridors before he would go downstairs, and get everything prepared for the family dinner that he had conveniently not told Nicolette about. He entered the dining room, and he waved his gloved hand, and it set itself. He had Volos prepare a dinner after bringing the old thing here, but the food would not arrive until all of them had sit down to enjoy it. He took one good look at the family tree before he rolled his eyes. 'Great,' thought Kalif as he waited for his son, wife and that girl to get down here.

Hades Lutrov did not think it weird for Kalif to invite him and Etoile over for dinner. What Hades did not know was that Nicolette was unaware of it, and was unaware of the drama that was going on back at the Styx Manor. As the firstborn, he was finally getting the attention he deserved, over some rotten carcass that was not even blood related.That might be a little harsh, but Hades felt nothing. What made him feel was the woman that he was with now, the woman that made him feel remotely important nowadays. He was in love, like a Death Eater should not be. He was in love with another Death Eater, the one that he had finished training months ago. Now she was a full fledged Death Eater. He had told the leader that he was not going on any mission without Etoile Lefevre by his side, to not just train her, but to guide her. Not that she needed guiding. Hades was certain that she had every sense of how to be a Death Eater drilled in her mind. Her mother was one, or wanted her to be one. Hades made sure that his young were good to go, and he had someone watching them from his family. They were more than happy to look after the twins and Vritra. It would not be long until he also had Titania and Callista. Hades enjoyed having his little children all around him. Most of them, or rather all them, were pure. That was the way that they should be. Hades vaguely wondered what happened to Draegan while he was thinking about it. He turned toward Etoile, before he apparated them to his dad's house. Hades took her hand into his pale one, as he led her upstairs in order meet his father and step-mother. His trench coat slowly wrapped around him, as he would never leave home without it. Even if he was going over to have dinner with his dad. The moment that he had reached the office, he could hear some voices, and what sounded like arguments. That did not surprise Hades, but it was the way that Nicolette and Kalif bonded. He released her hand to fold his arms across his chest, before he watched the door open, and Nicolette's expression told him that she had not known about the meeting. And his father's words made him chuckle before he looked at Etoile and shrugged. There was not much he could do. Kalif walked right past them, but Hades looked toward Nicolette. He stated, with a cruel smirk, "He didn't let you know about us. Figures." Hades looked over at Etoile, but he knew that Etoile and Nicolette knew each other. "That tall blonde that just walked past was my dad. He teaches over at the school, and is one of us, undercover. Best to steer clear of his eyes, he will read minds." He was giving Etoile as much warnings as he could, for her sake. He did not want Etoile to anger him in any way. That would spell trouble.

Nicolette took this time to roll her eyes. What was the purpose of not telling about about the family dinner he had planned? Did he want her to embarassed? It seemed likely so. As she watched him retreat out of the hallway she had to resist the urge to swear under her breath. Why did he insist o being such a difficult man at times? ”Your father is really getting on my nerves today.” Nicolette started when Hades decided to jump in on the subject. Nicolette didn’t see why no one had told her. She could’ve ben dressed and ready to go by now. But no, he waited until they actually arrived to tell her that they were coming. What a pain in the ass. Nicolette uncorssed her arms and let her eyes carefully look between both Hades and Etoile. Hades looked amused for the time being but Etoile didn’t look quite as happy to be here. In fact her expression was quite blank if not meek. ’Did Hades burn out that fiery spark of hers already? Or is she just putting on an act?’ Last time Nicolette had seen the woman, she was shouting and cursing up a storm. Back then it appeared as if she wanted nothing to do with Hades whatsoever. Nicolette wasn’t sure how things were now since the woman was quiet. But she didn’t look nearly half as annoyed as she did before. The man problem tonight, was if Etoile was going to impress or slide under Kalif’s radar. Kalif was calmer than Nicolette but one never knew. Etoile was a pure blood, and she came from a good family. Actually, if things were correct in Nicolette’s mind, Etoile already had a deeper bond with this family than they both realized. ”Hmm…” Nicolette sighed and combed her fingers through her thin blonde hair. Hopefully Kalif wwas in a better mood tonight because he had already gotten her riled up. Nicolette would hate to see him get anyone else in the same mood. After a moment Nicolette started to walk away.

”I’ll see you two in a bit,” Was the only thing she bothered to explain to them. Hopefully, Etoile knew how to mind herself. That also made Nicolette wonder about tonight. It would be interesting to hear how the two of them had been. Hades had been reallThat also made Nicolette wonder about tonight. It would be interesting to hear how the two of them had been. Hades had been reall quiet and well behaved the past couple of months. Nicolette was curious as to how Etoile kept him entertained to that extent. She didn’t seem like she was that interesting from what Nicolette could see. But there was just something abou t her, something that was special. In a way it kind of reminded her of the feeling of people around Danielle. It was hazy almost. Nicolette rounded the corner and headed into the bedroom to get changed.

Etoile did not like to meet new people. Even Hades should’ve been able to tell that she was bad at it. After being cruelly mistreated and hated by a group of men she had done nothing too, meeting others never came easy for her. Although Etoile seemed fiery and cruel, she was only some of the time. Other times, she was purely shy and unsocial. You could put her within room of people and she would be the most likely to stand in the corner and never say a word to anyone. That was just the way she had been since her mother died. Hades didn’t know that. He knew she sometimes got embarassed by compliments and stuff. But he had no idea how generally shy she was as well. It wouldn’t be long before he figured it out though. Especially if she had to speak with Nicolette or Hades’ father. They both seemed a little intimidating to her since they were both elder Death Eaters and had a lot of years on her. ”Oh.” Etoile stated when Hades explain that the tall man that had just walked by was his father. Goodness he was tall. Was he part-giant or something? Etoile did not like half-breeds too much. They weren’t natural. Just hours before they had arrived here, Etoile begged Hades not to come. It wasn’t that she didn’t want to meet his family. It was more or less the fact that she didn’t feel very well today nor did she feel like she was feeling well enough to function properly. The last thing she wanted to do was embarrass herself in front of them in any way. With the way her body felt today was completely inevitable. Soon Nicolette had left them, and Etoile felt her body relax a little bit more than it had been. Etoile wasn’t very excited for this dinner. Hopefully even Hades could see that. He knew she hadn’t been feeling well. He knew she wasn’t the most sure around newer people. But why did he insist on making her do this? Did he want his family to dislike her? Because if he let her do this she was likely going to make a fool of herself.

”Are you sure it’s a good idea we came today? They bith seem a little….grouchy.” Etoile questioned as she cocked her head to the side and studied Hades’ face. It was almost strange, seeing the place where Hades had grown up. This place was so big. It was at least a hundred times larger than the home Etoile had grown up in. Sadly enough, It was a nicer too. At least Hades had a father that cared for him. It wa shard for Etoile to remember a time when her own father cared about her. He had been out of her life since she had been very little. He wanted nothing to do with the Lefevre’s it seemed. Not even Danielle’s threats could get that man to come back. He was as good as dead in Etoile’s eyes anyways. He was never a father to her then and he would never be one now.

Hades looked over at Nicolette before he raised an eyebrow. Kalif was getting on her nerves? 'Seems a little more than that. Wonder what Father did to make her so catty,' thought Hades before he looked over toward Etoile and smirked that one specific smirk to tell that he was amused. Hades wished that he could read Nicolette's mind so that he could see what went on here exactly. Once Nicolette left and went to get dressed, Hades went inside of the office, and he walked to the window. Pulling the curtains back, he could see that the pool had been finished. Wheels started to turn, before he turned to Etoile once more. Nicolette did seem to smell a little like chlorine, or something. It wasn't normal, that was for certain. He shrugged before he let the curtains fall back into place, and he decided not to seek the subject out further. He went back to Etoile's side, before he said, "I think it is best to just get this over with. It's a good way for you to get involved a little in my family. At least, with my father." Hades would be lying if he had told her that he was not worried about how tonight would go. Kalif was touchy. He didn't like many people, and when he didn't like many, he often told them how it was, and could skin people alive with his insults alone. Kalif would never bring up anything to do with his mother, and had little to do with Danielle. In fact, he never liked to talk about anyone to anyone. He seemed to be rather secretive about things.

This all made Hades suspicious of his father and what he could be hiding. His true thoughts of how someone was would be locked inside of that brain. He stood next to Etoile before he snaked his arm around her waist, and said, "It is better now than ever. Father doesn't get to come home often. Trust me when I say that despite how Nicolette and he are acting, they are possibly the strongest married Death Eaters I have seen as a couple. Don't worry about it, just be true to yourself. Never put on an act. Father will know." Hades had never really told her the full story of how he was raised. The past was the past. His adopted parents were dead now, and so was his birth mother. He could never kill Kalif. Kalif was not only more powerful, but he was a strong figure for him. He led his girlfriend downstairs where they would soon enter the living room, and he stopped into the dining room, where everything was set up. The china alone was beautiful and Hades wondered if they were supposed to be dressed up or anything. Then he remembered, most of the things came fancy when it came down to family gatherings, whether it would be small or large. Hades motioned for Etoile to take a seat where he would sit down next to her at the large table, and his father on the other side as the head or King, so he thought. Now all that they needed was Nicolette to arrive, and then they'd be all set.

OOC: Go on ahead and post with your two, Styx is silent

Nicolette wasn’t exactly feeling chipper and excited for a family dinner. Mostly because Kalif managed to get her aggravated enough to where she didn’t care what happened and what didn’t. Especially when it concerned Hades as he was likely to get her that much more annoyed. He had a knack of bothering her at times. Though lately, he had been much quiter rather than a nuisance. Was it because of that woman he had with him. Etoile? Was that her name? Nicolette couldn’t remember exactly but she did remember at once point that Etoile was swearing up a storm of curses and threats towards Hades last she had seen her. Sure she was about to have twins, but still, she had a beastly side to her. Nicolette made her way into the dining room and rolled her eyes once they fell on her husband. ”I hope your happy with yourself.” She muttered to him before she took a seat on the other side of the table. Truth be told, she knew he could probably make her forget the whole thing. No matter how hard she tried to be angery at him it never lasted long. Most of the time he made her forget, and other times she got more angry at other things to remember why she was even upset with him in the first place. So this probably wouldn’t last, but Nicolette was going to try and make it last as long as she could. He threw her, while she was still asleep, into a pool. A pool! Who does that? Besides Kalif or angry serial killers who want to drown their wives, no one. If she was stronger and he wasn’t so damn built she’d throw him into ghd damn pool. That’s likely what upset Nicolette the mosrt over this, was the fact that she could do nothing to get him back. He was such a butthead sometimes. Nicolette sighed and turned her eyes over to Etoile and Hades who had just sat down. A look of amusement fluttered in her eyes before she glanced at Kalif. Surely he must have noticed too. Hades was being particularly gentle with this one. Something she hadn’t seen often in his past relationships. Was there something different about this one or something? Nicolette wasn’t quite sure if there or not. But they had been around one another for more than it he seemed to be with any of the others. It interested Nicolette. She wondered if it made Kalif curious too.

”So,” Nicolette started off, after taking a sip of some ice cold water. Her golden eyes shifted to Hades as he was the only one likely enough to know the answer to her question. Etoile might, but she didn’t seem to eager to be here tonight. In fact she looked a little frightened if not tired. ”I’m shocked. You’ve been this one for a long time. Tell me, what makes this one so special?” Nicolette asked. She was truly curious too. Hades had been with his fair share of women. From what Nicolette could remember, she often saw him with all very capable women. But Etoile, well, even if they weren’t together exactly, stories had been heard about him chasing her down for years. Hades was normally not the type to chase a woman down. He never did unless he felt like being sadistic that night or something. But when it came to romance, Nicolette never expected him to do such a thing. What was she doing different to keep him interested for that long. Nicolette then also turned to Etoile. She seemed much to quiet. Perhaps she wasn’t into this sort of thing or something.
<i>
</i>

Etoile was not fully comfortable here. It was not that she didn’t like Hades family. It was just that she didn’t know them. They were foreign to her. Etoile had issues trusting those she didn’t know. The fear came from what had happened to her in the past. Her little family had trusted Iulian and his family to take care of them and be civil to them. Look where that got them. It got them six feet under and dead as a doornail. So it wasn’t that she hated the world. It was just that she needed time to trust people again. Just like it had taken years for her to come to trust Hades fully. On top of that, it was hard to her to know what was and what wasn’t appropriate here. Etoile was already feeling a bit sick or something, there was no reason she needed to make herself feel worse. What if she said something to offend either of them? Etoile shot Hades a quick glance before she gently sat down and looked at the tablecloth. Right now she felt so tired. Crawling back into bed and sleeping for a hundred years sounded heavenly right now. But if it meant this much to Hades she might as well stay and meet his father and….step-mother? She looked to pretty to be a step-mother. Actually, if Etoile was going to categorize Nicolette she would actually considered her to be the type of woman her dead-beat father would go after. Only she had class and the others didn’t. Kalif, it was harder to form an opinion on. Together as a couple though, Etoile was confused on. Hades mentioned that they were a very strong couple. But to her, it looked as if they bickered a lot or something. Nicolette in particular seemed annoyed at this moment. Etoile could only wonder what the two of them had been arguing about before she and Hades appeared. Perhaps there was something deeper there that she couldn’t quite see. Etoile would question Hades about their relationship later. They appeared to be an interesting pair.

Etoile decided to answer Nicolette’s question, even if it wasn’t intended to her, she wanted to make it known that she had no idea what she had done. ”To be honest, I haven’t really done anything to try and get him interested. For the longest time all I wanted to was get away.” That much was true. For the longest time Etoile did nothing to try and catch his attention. In fact she had tried to get under the radar with him. She tried everything she could to stay out of his attentions. But it didn’t really seem to work as he found her no matter where she went or what she did. As far as Etoile was concerned, Hades was hooked not long after he had met her. It seemed like no matter what she said to him, he tested her. Now she was here. Dating him and meeting his parents. Sometimes she wondered how long it was going to last. Hades had been through more women than she wished he would have. It worried her that she could someday end up as they did. She was sure they at first all wanted this more than she had. But how was it that she managed to end up here and last much longer than they did? Etoile remained silent again and focused on staring into her lap.

Hades could feel that Etoile was not comfortable, but Hades knew that the only way to help someone with this was to introduce them slowly into the family, to make them feel right at home. It was what he was going to do with Etoile. He was willing to show everyone in the world that Etoile was his girlfriend, and that he was in love with her. He could feel Kalif's eyes on him, but he looked down at the china, to keep his eyes from his father. It was perhaps the only way to keep the man from reading his mind. The Death Eater looked down at the plates before they were filled with delicious food. How lucky was it that they could sit here, and eat a dinner that was not prepared by him? He kind of got tired of cooking, and often liked eating at his father's house easier. Hades looked toward the glasses before they were filled with some sort of wine. He took a drink of it, before he would wait for the others to begin. He wasn't really the type to eat in front of people. He had manners that one would not believe, but he was uptight as well. Hades blinked his onyx eyes before he looked over at Nicolette, to see that she was still annoyed. Hm, she could hold a grudge. Hades decided to inquire from his dad, "So, Father, what did you do to Nicolette to get her so aggravated? I'm just dying to know." Hades wondered if his dad would even answer him, but he hoped that he would anyhow. Hades listened upstairs to see if any of his half-siblings were walking around. He did not hear anything, so he decided to start eating part of the dinner anyhow.

The Death Eater looked over at Nicolette before he heard her question toward him. He was going to answer her, but Etoile managed to talk as well. He smirked lightly, thinking of the times that she tried and tried to get away, but in the end, she had fallen for him. Hades answered with his near mocking tone, "I'll tell you my secret if you tell me how you could stand to be with that mudblood. What was his name? Moon? At any case, you traded up." Hades shrugged before he looked over at Etoile and he reached over to rub her thigh in a comforting manner, to make sure that she was at ease. She didn't seem to be, but hopefully soon she would relax. "I was right in the end though, that you wouldn't want to be away. After so long anyway. Took a few years, but I think it was worth it." Etoile was rather special. She was a Death Eater now, and she was one of the very beings that he loved and adored. She was mother to his twins, the youngest ones that he had. There was not anything else he could ask for in a woman. He trusted her now, and he didn't need for her to stay in his home at all times. That would drive people nuts. Every now and then, they'd go out and go shopping. Hades often kept an eye on her in case she was out and alone, which worried him because there were times when she seemed too vulnerable to be out without him. Hades was just overprotective of the one that he managed to fall for. There was not anything wrong with that.

Kalif was seated and he had his arms folded over his chest, merely observing the behavior between his son and Etoile. This was highly interesting, because of Hades' past women. This one was different, and he could definitely see why it was. Hades was in love with the woman, and Kalif wondered how long the man had been been in love with Etoile. And he could easily tell that both of them were definitely over the hills for each other. He shook his head before he reached for the glass and he took a drink of the wine, which was different than the tea that he normally drank. The Defence Against the Dark Arts professor looked over at his son as he questioned him. He shook his head, and he answered in a cold tone, "I threw her into the pool while she was asleep. Satisfied?" Kalif was easily irritated, and the tone that he was carrying was giving out all signs of being irritated right now, but the wine would help him stay in the calm and collected mood. He then remembered what he saw on the family tree, and thought that wine would not be best for Etoile in her state right now. Kalif would have to get to the glass before she could get a drink of it, or else there would be issues, and someone was going to get injured. He stood up from his chair, walked around to approach the seat where Etoile was sitting at.

With his gloved hand, he took the glass from the table before he said, "You shouldn't be drinking this." Kalif went into the kitchen and he put the glass into the sink. He got down another class and some tea from the fridge, before he poured it, and then took it back into the dining room before he set it down in front of the younger Death Eater. Kalif resumed his place at the table before he folded his arms across his chest once more, and he looked over at his wife for a moment. She probably didn't know that Etoile was even pregnant right now. Perhaps that was why Etoile seemed to be so nervous or something. Unwed and having children was frowned upon, even in this family but they had not bothered with criticism anymore. People tended to do the exact opposite anyhow. Besides, he had children with women that were unwed. There wasn't as much of a deal about it as there was back in the past. Kalif stated softly, "And with you two falling in love or whatever, was this before or after Etoile is bearing presently?"

<COLOR color="#000">Nicolette figured that Hades would eventually ask Kalif or herself what had happened to make her so agitated at her husband. So when her son-in-law asked Kalif why Nicolette barely cracked a show of emotion. There was no need for her to show that she was pissed off when it seemed like the entire table sensed it anyways. Being picked on was something that she was used to by now. Nicolette had been with Kalif for over five years now, so she was used to his antics. Over the years he had gotten worse too. As hard as that was to believe, Nicolette swore that he had gotten worse as time when on. Likely because he realized that he could get a rise out of her that way. However, there was just more than the pool that was getting under her skin right now. "It's more than the stupid pool. But yes, it started with him being an ass and throwing me in the damned pool when I was asleep. He knows I hate the pool." It was probably her inner animagus form bringing her to hate such things as the pool or lakes. Nicolette bit her lip and used her fork to push around the food on the plate. She wasn't all that hungry. She rarely was. When she was angry she had a harder time on keeping the desire to eat strong. After a minute of pushing her food around she abandoned the fork and slowly encased her hand around the glass of wine. Nicolette lifted the purple-red colored liquid to her lips and took a drink. The woman that Hades brought along, Etoile, finally decided to speak. Her explanation of how she and Hades got together was interesting. Enough to make a small smirk curl up onto Nicolette's dark lips. So basically Hades bothered her until she gave him. That was both sweet and creepy.

Hades retort to her made Nicolette raise an eyebrow before she then proceeded to role her golden eyes. "Well....we can start with how I didn't know he was a mudblood. Second, it wasn't like he was ugly or anything." Nicolette glanced at Kalif and tried to resist smirking. "Yeah I did. Even if he's a butthead sometimes." Kalif knew that Nicolette loved him, even when she was upset with him. It was hard to mask the fact that she cared strongly about him. He was her soul-mate, her other half. Nicolette knew that she got lonely without him around to talk to her and keep her busy with his rude antics. Nicolette's eyes bore onto her husbands frame as he stood from his seat and took the glass of wine form Etoile. For a moment Nicolette wondered what his deal was. But then it clicked. Pregnant women were not supposed to have alcohol. Hades and Etoile were still fairly young so they were still in the middle of where having kids was bound to happen. Especially with Hades and his hormones running like mad. Nicolette lowered her glass of wine and turned to see the reaction of Hades once Kalif revealed that Etoile was indeed with child. Oh boy, Kalif must be excited. More grandkids for him to deal with. Nicolette on the other hand, didn't mind them...too much.

Etoile was never good with meeting people's families. Even as a kid she always closed herself up to keep people from breaking in. Hades really wanted her to meet his family, so she was here. But now that she actually was here she wasn't sure if could find any way to relate to these people. Hearing the argument between Hades' father and step-mother made Etoile question whether what Hades said was true or not. Carefully, she leaned over to whisper within Hades' ear. "Are you sure these two are in love? They kind of seem like they want to rip one another's heads off." Etoile pulled away from her boyfriend's ear and bit her lower lip. Her silvery green eyes darted nervously between Kalif and Nicolette. The two of them made her nervous. Etoile was fiery-tempered, but that was around those she knew well or had a reason to be angry against. She wanted to make a good impression but there was no use in acting like she was something that she wasn't. Etoile placed her hand over Hades' and encased his own when he placed it on her thigh in a comforting manner. At least he was trying to make sure that she was comfortable. He must have sensed that she was feeling a little bit unsure and scared to be here. "Oh hush." Etoile felt herself growing embarrassed of the fact that she had allowed herself to fall for him when she told him over and over again that she wouldn't allow it. It just made her look silly in the end. Hades must have thought he was so damn clever for that too. Etoile felt her stomach bubble and she scrunched her nose up. That damned nausea was back. It seemed like her body wasn't going to let her relax like she wanted.

Etoile was going to take a drink of wine when Hades' father game and took the class from her. She wasn't supposed to have wine? Why not? She was old enough to drink alcohol. "What-w?" Etoile followed the man's giant figure as he retreated from the dining room. A coulple of minute's later he returned with a glass of tea and sat that glass down. What he said next caused Etoile to spit out some of the tea she had taken in as soon as she could get he smaller hands on the glass. Oh she had better not be pregnant! "Are you serious?" Etoile asked quietly. Oh she did not want to be pregnant again! Of course she loved her babies to death. But being pregnant stunk. She was fat, always sick, and way too uncomfortable to do anything. Plus, last time she ended up with twins. She just-Etoile did not know if having more kids was a good idea for her. But if she was, so be it. Etoile would love the baby regardless. But she would not be very happy waiting for the little one to arrive. Etoile stared at Hades. Did he know anything about this?

Hades listened to Etoile as she whispered into his ear. He turned to face her before he nodded and murmured back, "It is like this all the time. I think they argue and bicker because they have nothing better to do." Hades truly thought that both of them had nothing to do, so they were just bored all of the time. Hades turned his onyx eyes over to his father and Nicolette has both seemed to explain what happened. So his father tossed Nicolette into the pool while she was asleep. That was a new one. He had to cough to keep from snickering. He cleared his throat, before he nodded, "So, you get pissed about that. Hey father, why not cheer her up with some nutritious catnip?" Hades absolutely loved to bring up the fact that Nicolette was an Animagus, and how her form tend to come out in some of her attitudes. He figured that would also get Etoile to crack a smile since he had told her a while back that Nicolette was in fact a cat Animagus. He could feel Etoile place her hand over his, before he intertwined his fingers with hers and held her hand. He often did not do this, but he felt that it was needed for her to calm down and relax a little bit. Hades looked over at his beloved Etoile before he smirked when she told him to hush. It was not something he was known to do, but it was good enough. The food soon filled the plates, where Hades released Etoile's hand so that she could dig in, as could he. Hades began to consume the dinner prepared before he noticed that his father had taken Etoile's glass of wine away, and then replaced it with tea. That was odd. Etoile was well over seventeen. She was definitely old enough to drink, but what was going on? Kalif was hardly like that.

With a roll of his onyx eyes, he retorted, "But he had a hatred for Death Eaters, and you happened to bear another man's child, er, children, and was still with him. You are such a good role model for your children." He smirked even more, before his eyes went over to Kalif, considering the fact that he knew how his father was. He was always jealous, and Alexander Moon was ordered to be killed, by Kalif's suggestion to their leader and then he was the one to carry out the deed. Hades heard what his father had finally said, before he started to choke on his wine. Etoile was pregnant? He had not even planned this one out like he had before. Hades finally had a hold of himself before he looked over at Kalif, and saw that he wasn't joking. He looked over to Etoile before he told her, "I didn't mean to this time. Uh, might explain you haven't been feeling good lately." Hades was just shocked, but it wasn't like this was going to be a new thing. He just didn't want it to be twins again, because the last time, Etoile had bled so much. Hades hoped that Etoile wouldn't be pissed at him, but considering that this was a child formed from their newly found relationship, it was not at all that hard to believe. Born from love, not hatred. This ought to turn out interesting.

The dinner party was turning out to be a dramatic filled event and he was getting irritated, fast. The last thing that Kalif ever wanted in his life was drama. But he seemed to attract it ever since he married Nicolette. The two had been through so much, but when would things ever calm down? The next thing that got in the way, he would make sure to get rid of. It wasn't like he had not done it before, ordered another man's death on his watch. Kalif looked over at Nicolette before he said in a rather cold tone, "Stop being so dramatic, Nicolette. You know that is all that got on your nerves. If you want, I can do it again quite easily, cat. I will turn it to a daily thing." He rolled his eyes before he took a sip of his wine, before he looked over at Hades. Kalif was not in the best of moods, but it was obvious as someone could see. Kalif smirked slightly when Hades managed to get to Nicolette with the whole cat animagus thing. That was always what he had in common with Hades. Kalif often used that against Nicolette anytime he could. Kalif just felt like looking down, not taking a bit out of food anymore. He pushed the plate away, his irritation erasing all else that he was feeling as of the moment. He felt like he was back in school, but at least he was getting some mild entertainment from his wife. It was not until when Hades mentioned Alexander Moon, was when his glares turned hostile. If they could kill, then they would definitely be dead right about now. How he hated that man, with every bit of his being. He never felt guilty when it came to ending that wretched life, even if his son had done the deed no matter if he had wanted it done himself.

"I'd prefer not to hear about that dead mudblood in this house unless anyone wants their tongue severed," stated Kalif in a very cruel manner. He gave his wife a glare for thinking that man looked anything good at all. Alexander looked like an abortion to him, and that was the end of that. He knew that Nicolette only wanted one person, and that was him, but the thought was still there, and it bothered him to the point where he really meant what he said. He would cut out a tongue if someone mentioned him once more. He did not need to be reminded of what happened in the past. He looked over at Hades as he started to choke, and Etoile spit out her tea when he had busted the news. He never got the answer, but with that reaction, he could only believe that it was before. The fact that Hades seemed surprised, it must have been an accident. Kalif simply shrugged and he spoke, "Just one line this time." That should ease any thoughts on if there were going to be twins again. Kalif had two sets, and Hades had one set right now. Twins were hard to take care of. He knew this from experience. Damianos and Nicolas were hard to take care of but Kassye and Kairi were even worse.

<COLOR color="black">Nicolette hated when people ganged up on her. Right now that was all Kalif and Hades seemed to be doing. They did it often actually. When they teamed up she had absolutely no chance at winning. A girl could only do so much before she got tired of it all. Nicolette frowned. It wasn't fair that they picked on her. When she picked on them she only ended up making herself look like an idiot. Nicolette narrowed her eyes and turned them onto her husband. "You know why I'm pissed. It is definitely more than just the pool thing." Nicolette referred to the incident in his office where he kissed her. He never did anything like that so immediately Nicolette grew suspicious of his actions. It got her upset because she felt like he was playing games with her. That and she still wasn't happy about being thrown into a pool when she was asleep. No one should do that to someone they loved. "Besides, I was asleep! If I was awake it would have been a different story." Nicolette grumbled under her breath but still loudly enough for him to hear. There was a strong chance that he probably didn't care though. Then she turned her golden eyes to Hades where she narrowed them once again. Did he really suggest that they give her catnip? Why did people always suggest this sort of thing? Catnip was not at all something that she enjoyed. Just because she was a cat didn't mean she thought the same way cats did. She wanted to tell Hades to go find something better to do than pick her on her, but instead all she did was shake her head at him. There was no point in arguing with him. He was hard to win against. Nicolette glanced again at Etoile whom still looked as confused as ever. It was kind of cute actually. Nicolette bet Hades loved messing with her.

"Kalif!" Nicolette barked at her husband. She knew he was upset about her mentioning anything about Alexander Moon. But at the same time, he knew she loved him. A lot more than she ever had anyone else. More than she ever would love anyone. There was no need for him to get upset. He had a tendency to get jealous sometimes. Very jealous and it could cause him to do some horrible things if he wanted to. Well he claimed it was other reasons but Nicolette had reason to believe that he wasn't telling her everything. He liked to hide how he really felt sometimes. Even if she felt like he shouldn't need to. Nicolette loved it when he was more honest with her about his feelings or what he thought about things. But those moments were very rare. Especially these days. Nicolette carefully took in the reactions of both Etoile and Hades. Neither of them seemed like they expected to hear that she was pregnant. 'Even Hades is surprised. So it's pretty obvious that he didn't do it on purpose this time.' Nicolette was glad she was done with having kids. As cute as they were, they managed to be a handful sometimes. Especially her little ones. Damianos and Nicolas were getting so old. It was hard to believe how fast they were growing. Nicolette remained quiet as she watched Etoile excuse herself from the table. Well it looks like Hades was certainly in for a night.
