Sneaking away

Spike walked down and took a drink out of the water, he had told Eden that she was not meant to drink from it because of its magical properties which it was only for the best of the Centaurs which meant Spike had the honor to drink out of it now. " I miss them days, and how I used to look at you, I used to have a crush on you and I still kind of do, it's funny for me to say that seeing as im almost ten years older then you."
 
Eden watched as Spike took a drink of water. Eden felt herself blush when Spike told her that he had a crush on her. "I had a crush on you as well. Truth be told I still do. But Your older than me by ten years and your a Centaur. I have nothing against you but I would never want to put you at risk of being banished from your home." Eden hopped that Spike did not think she sounded stupid saying that. Cause that would crush her.
 
Spike smiled weakly but in the opposite direction of her face, and changed his face to having a real smile before he walked over towards her. " It's ok, I understand. Everything happens for a reason, plus also you have someone to now." On the outside spike made himself look like everything was fine, but on the inside he was crushed.
 
Eden could feel something was not right. Spike was hurting and it was her fault. "Spike if I had known sooner that you felt this way you and I could have tried to figure something out." Eden felt her heart pounding she felt really bad about what was happening at this moment. Throwing her arms around Spike, Eden buried her face in his shoulder. "I'm sorry." Eden said softly.
 
Spike was happy, not because she was in a relationship, but that she was happy. " It's ok, it really is. I'm happy that you found someone,I really am." He said as he wrapped his arms around her and held her tight. He didn't like that she was feeling sorry for him, he was a strong being, and not much did affect him, not even if it was the person he cared about more then anything in the world. " Just don't worry about me." He said as he pulled his head back dso he could ook into her eyes and smile.
 
Eden let herself relax into Spike's arms. "You better not just be saying that. I really care about you Spike and I would do anything for you without a second thought." Eden meant it. There was not many people she cared about do drop everything and help them, but Spike was one of those people. "You know when you tell someone from my kind to not worry about someone your pretty much giving us a reason to worry. It's really silly but thats how humans work." Eden looked deep into Spike eyes and wonder how someone like him could not find someone worthy enough for him. Surly there was a female Centaur out there that was not stuck up?
 
Spike smiled half-heartedly and glanced away at the cave floor.He knew what she was saying was true, it did give people a reason to worry, but yet people always still said it, to try and get people to not worry. " Well honestly, im big enough and ugly enough to deal with my self and my own stupid emotions."
 
Eden frowned at Spike and without really thinking smacked him on the shoulder. "Do not call yourself ugly. You are breath taking. I can remember how the last time I saw you walking out of this very pond. I wanted to cry because of how stunning you are. Just thinking about it makes my heart start racing. Don't ever say you are ugly again because that is simply not true." Eden was a bit upset now that Spike was being so stupid as to think he was ugly. If anyone was ugly it was Eden.
 
Spike didn't even really feel the smack on his shoulder, his skin was tough and it took a lot to hurt him. " How am I not ugly. I'm a half breed, half man half horse, I wish I was human and only human so I could leave this forest and be able to see the world with out getting weird looks as I would and if i was ever seen by a muggle I would be slain. I just want to know what its like to be able to hold someone through the night and be able to taste their lips. People look at me as a beautiful animal, I hate what I am, I wish I was different."
 
Eden was going to cry. Her stupid emotions where going to boil up and she was going to cry. "I don't see you as a half breed. I see you as Spike. The only person that I can tell all my secrets to and I don't have to worry about feel stupid. I want to be like you. The world out there is ugly and hateful if I could I would move into this forest and never leave. Your not a beautiful animal, your a beautiful person and thats why I love you." Eden felt the tears fall from her eyes. She was hurting because they both wanted the very thing the other didn't want. It was like being trapped in a glass box never able to get free.
 
Spike used his right hand and gently caught a tear on his finger. It wasn't hard to do, he had been known to be able to do it for a while. He blew the tear of his finger which flew in all different directions and looked like little sparkles. He wiped all the tears off of her face and lifted her of her ground with one hand and wiped the hair out of her face. " Eden, this is one thing I have wanted ever since I was born, I wanted to be able to be free to do what I want, living in the forest has its restrictions, people do get hurt and they do die." He felt weak at the kness from listening to what Eden had to say, he loved her for who she was, and hated seeing her upset and crying, it was one thing he hoped he would never have to see.
 
Eden continued to cry, even as Spike was trying to wipe away her tears. It would not work. Eden was in full out crying mood. "You think you can do whatever you please in my world? You cant there are laws, and even without the laws there are unspoken rules. Like women have to dress like this or men have to act like this. It is stupid. I want the simple life of the forest. Yes people get hurt and die but I would take this over having to continue on in the human world." Eden closed her eyes and continued to let herself cry for the life she would never get to have.
 
Spike gave her a kiss on the cheek and continued to hold her, he stood there in silence and let her cry it out, he knew that would be probably the best thing to do, instead of argue over why he wanted to be a human and live in the normal world, instead of being confined to a forest twenty four hours a day.
 
Eden felt Spike's kiss and continued to cry. Letting it all out so that she would be able to calm herself. Finally after several moments. Eden wiped her eyes and pushed her hair out of her face. "Thank you Spike." Resting her forehead against Spikes, Eden looked eyes into Spikes and smiled.
 
Spike smiled softly as she rested her forehead against his and looked into his eyes. " It's ok, I'm always here for you, I will always be here your my best friend, remember that." Spike couldn't help but say that she meant the world to him, she was the only person he loved and that made her special to him, he would never let a thing happen to her, ever. His yellow eyes looked deep into her greens and he smiled softer then he had ever before.
 
Eden all but grinned. Letting her nose rest against Spike's, Eden let herself get lost in Spike's yellow eyes. "Even after I leave Hogwarts I will think of ways to see you here at Hogwarts or when I leave I will take you with me and you can live with me in my house." Eden knew Spike would never leave the forest but she could always offer him a home if he wanted it. Spike had a special place in her heart that no one else would ever be able to fill.
 
There noses touched and Spike felt as though there was butterflies in his stomach, they where so close. " that would be great, but without a forest I would be weak and I would surely Die, I would kill for the chance to be able to leave and live a life with you." Spikes eyes closed momentarily and opened again and stared into her eyes yet again. As he looked into her eyes he got lost in a sea of green, he could sit there for days on end and just stare into the depths of her eyes.
 
Eden knew that her and Spike where close. Almost to close but she could not pull herself away. "I don't want you to die that would make me very sad. Maybe I will just move into the forest and live in a tree when I turn seventeen. That way I can live with you." Eden knew that it could never happen but it was nice to think that it could happen.
 
Spike knew that that could never happen and he slowly pulled his head away from her face, he didn't want to be that close to her even though it made him feel more alive then anything ever had been able to in his whole entire life. He knew that if anyone would have seen them like that they would think it is wrong and they would surely have something to say about it. But yet he still held her off the ground but he just pulled his head back slightly. " You know that would never be able to happen, after you leave those gates out there, there will be no coming back for you, I will never be able to see you again."
 
Eden did not try and close the distance when Spike pulled away. It would just make things that much more painful for them. "I will come back. I plan on being the Astronomy Professor. Anything to stay around Hogwarts. I can not bear the thought of losing you. To never be able to see you again would be the death of me." Eden would not let her and Spike be pulled apart. If she left Hogwarts she would come back just so she could see her friend.
 
Spike smiled and leaned in and gave her another kiss on the cheek. Holding his face next for hers for a while, this was the one thing he loved to do, was hug her and hold her tight. She was the closest thing to him and he was never going to let her go. " So what do you have planned for the rest of the week?" He asked making a new subject."
 
Eden liked the way it felt when Spike kissed her cheek. It was the closest her and Spike would ever get it made her sad but it also made her feel giddy. "I plan on continuing to stay on top of my lessons. It's a lot harder than I had first planned but I am trying my hardest. I never knew trying to pull a O in everything would be so hard." Eden also planned on sneaking into the forest a lot more but she would not tell Spike this she wanted it to be a surprise.
 
" I imagine it would be very hard for you to do, its hard enough for me to tr and get a meal every night but I always seem to accomplish it." Spike said with a smile on his face, he could tell kissing her on the cheek had a affect on her and he knew he should stop it if he wanted to be able to continue being friends with her. " Just keep trying and you will get it, and you will pass with flying colors."
 
"It would be at first but you have to remember I have a wand well two wands now so I can magic myself up some food." Eden liked the idea of living in the woods there would be no one around the bug her and she could be with Spike. Just being about to be with Spike was reason enough to stay in the forest. "I'm sure I will pass as well but it is still hard and I'm wondering why I ever signed up for so many classes. It's not like I enjoy all of them. Truth be told some of them I can not stand."
 
" Obviously you want to get the job so you can come see me." Spike said with a smile on his face. He loved spending time with Eden and he could tell she loved spending time with him as well. Kissing her on the cheek once more, he smiled slowly as his head came back around to rest upon hers. SO that there noses where just almost touching and there lips where inches apart.
