Seamus wasn't sure why he ever bothered with the dances, usually he stood or sat around as others did thing. Even this time around as others were doing things, he was just stood at the snack table getting some bits and pieces to eat.

Felix was really impressed with this year's ball and he was looking forward to maybe even trying to ice skate later. But for now he was focused on getting some snacks. He glanced over at Seamus who seemed pretty focused on just that. "Anything good?"

Ezra hadn't been stalking Felix, but he had noticed him and maybe followed him a bit. He watched him from a slight distance as he spoke to another older boy, another Quidditch player. Ezra tried to desperately think of something interesting to say to them.

"Same old," Seamus replied to the boy, the hufflepuff. "So if you like the classics, then yeah, plenty good,"

Felix nodded along. "Well the food is usually pretty good." he said with a shrug and started to fill up his plate. "What do you think of the ice rink?" he asked before noticing a younger boy staring at him. Felix waved before looking back to Seamus.

"This is a ball," he replied to the question. he was wearing a suit, the last thing he wanted to do was mess it up on an ice rink. "What do you think?" sure that the hufflepuff would be more agreeable than him.

Ezra flushed as Felix noticed him and waved. Instead of waving back, he hid behind a tree.

Felix considered the other boy's response. "I guess you're right." he said and looked down at his own suit jacket and nice pair of shoes. "I feel like they could have warned us to wear something a bit more casual." But he couldn't help but glance at the ice. "Does look pretty fun though."

Seamus didn't see how it could be fun, it seemed more dangerous that quidditch. "I don't think ball and casual go together," he replied with a shrug. "Have at it," he said, making it clear he wasn't going to do it.

Ellie was much more the sort to stay in the Library and do extra studying than go to the dance. But her mother had insisted she attend this year. Walking up to the snack table she noticed a few of her classmates standing around. "Hello," Ellie said as she reached past them and grabbed a drink.

Ezra kept an eye on the group, waiting for a moment he could approach Felix without it being weird. If such a moment existed.

Felix had been so excited by the skating that he hadn’t really thought past that. But now he was questioning everything. He was deep in thought and nibbling on a cookie when someone else joined them at the snack table. He was pretty sure he recognized her from class. “Hey.” he said and offered her a small wave.

Ellie glanced between the boys, she wasn't too sure how either of them was in terms of personalities. She hadn't spent much time talking to her peers during the first five years or so. "I'm much more interested in warmer waters than frozen," she said having heard the two talking about the ice rink.
