Sixth Years: Lesson 1

Professor Killian Borisyuk had to change the desk and chair to accommodate since his other colleague was average sized. Everything had to be at least twice the size. He sat down in the chair as he looked over who might be attending the class from the yearbook. Killian was also a bit happier now that he was teaching something else. After all, this material was much different compared to what he had done the first year he taught. This one, he was more familiar with considering how widespread it was. It was an interesting subject, and one that he was sure that the sixth years would enjoy. After all, it was introducing them to the dark parts of history. He noticed the sixth years filing in. He glanced down at his watch to see that it was about time to start the lesson.

Killian clasped his hands together on his stomach as he waited until the it was right on time to start the lesson. "Good afternoon, sixth years" the Russian spoke as he stood up. The style he had was a bit more casual, as he was rather laid back. Even his robes were barely hanging off his shoulders. "If you have transferred in, my name is Professor Killian Borisyuk. If my name proves to be difficult, then Professor Killian will do." He slid his tattooed hands into the pockets of his jeans as he cleared his throat. "Anyway, on to the subject at hand since you are all old enough to know the basic rules. I will be teaching you all thoroughly about the history of Lord Voldemort. I know you all touched base on him in Defence Against the Dark Arts but we will be focusing on who he is, the wars he caused, and the effects that he had overall since his reign of terror lasted for decades. There are several theories on how he survived for so long, and what all he used. One of the many theories would be the use of horcruxes. If you come across anything about those objects, feel free to come to me during my office hours and I'll explain what they are."

The Russian remembered that he shouldn't stand up for too long because of the sixth years' necks. So, he walked back over to his desk and sat down. He folded his arms across his chest and stared over the teenagers with his green orbs. "That is enough of a teaser, so I'll let you all go early. No homework yet." Killian gestured his wand toward the door to open it for the sixth years as he watched them all leave. He tapped his finger against his arm until they were all gone so that he could head back to his office.
Assignment: RP the lesson.

Finding his way around this familiar but unfamiliar castle was becoming easier and easier by the day. It also helped, of course, that there were some people who had been willing to give Theo a tour, which made him grin. He strolled into the History of Magic classroom, his Gryffindor robe skewed as he took in the setup. He gave an appreciative whistle at the room's grandeur before spotting the professor. Theo's head tilted to the side, clearly intrigued. "So like... are you proportional all the way through?" he asked, blinking before remembering that he wasn't being very polite. "Good afternoon by the way. Anyway... so how would you -" he cut himself off and instead just clicked his tongue twice. He didn't actually bother waiting for a reply though and just looked at his fingers, fidgeting with them as he went and took his seat. Theo was snapped out of his distracted thoughts when the professor actually begun the class. "Professor Killian it is," Theo muttered under his breath, the corner of his mouth twitching in amusement. "Can’t go wrong with the first name basis, right?" he grinned to himself. It was easy for him to get bored though when the professor launched into an overview of the lesson. It was perhaps unfortunate - or fortunate, depending on how one looked at it - that Theo had already studied this particular lesson in Hogwarts Scotland. With his actual school being the home ground of everything that centered that particular war, they'd already covered good old Voldie and his merry band of miscreants. It helped even less that his family - the Nightray family - were a British family, so he was quite aware of this History. No wonder Mikael wasn't here. When Professor Borisyuk touched on horcruxes, Theo’s hand shot up before he could think twice. “Professor Killian,” he began, not even waiting to be acknowledged, grinning slyly, “if we’re delving into good ol' Voldie's less-than-savory hobbies, do we get bonus points for theorizing how many horcruxes he had or just how bad his splitting headache must have been from failing 'cause of a kid every time?” He didn't exactly know what horcruxes were except that Voldie had multiple - people kept using plural form, it wasn't exactly hard to figure out - and that people either didn't know or refused to speak about it. He'd gotten pretty close but had been thwarted.

Fraser had been very happy as he returned to school. For one, he had joined with Teddy to be the co-captain of the Gryffindor Quidditch team, and Zerrin was head boy. He was exceedingly proud of his big brother, and just so ready for the year ahead. He had a lot to do too. He knew he had to plan for his replacement on Accio and quidditch was important, and he did also need to somewhat decide which path he wanted after school, quidditch or photography. He was getting his things together for the day ahead, continuing with the important classes that he had and then headed out of the door.

Fraser walked into the history of magic classroom and took his spot in the room. He looked towards the professor as the man got started on what they’d be covering in this semester of the class. He was pretty interested in what they would end up covering. It all seemed rather interesting to him. He didn’t always manage with history, the lectures were too long and he struggled to keep up and then struggled to revise, but he was going to try his best during this year. He packed up and headed out of the room.

Hinata stepped into the classroom with a deep breath as she offered a polite bow to Professor Borisyuk before settling into her seat beside Bailey, taking out her quill and parchment so she would be ready to write her notes. She watched with horrific fascination as Theodore - Mikael's cousin from the other side of the family - stepped in and attempted to ask the professor ... she didn't even want to think about it. As the professor introduced himself and the coverage for the year, Hinata listened, scribbling down on her parchment. Voldemort and some of the darker parts of recent history in the United Kingdom was an interesting topic but also uncomfortable, more in the sense because it was so recent. There were people alive today who had been present in those wars in Europe. It was perhaps a blessing that nothing of that scale had happened in Japan or in New Zealand in recent times. Sure there were some horrific acts even during her parents' time as far as she knew, but nothing that was as wide-scale as what occurred with Voldemort. Her musings were cut off when Theodore had once again asked a question - that was becoming a common occurrence in their classes and she grimaced. When the professor dismissed the class early, she quickly gathered her things and left.

Bailey knew the name Voldemort from the lessons they had covered him in defence against the dark arts. She didn’t understand why they had to cover him again, what else could they learn about him that they hadn’t covered already? She would soon find out as Professor Borisyuk began to tell them what they would be covering, as it seemed Voldemort, his war and his reign of terror would be their main focus for the year.

Professor Borisyuk didn’t give them much detail as it was only the first lesson, but he did mention horcruxes as a potential theory for how he survived as long as he did and if the rumours of him surviving death were true. Perhaps there was more to cover about Voldemort after all so she looked forward to finding out what that was when she returned for her next lesson. Bailey packed up everything once the lesson came to and end and made her way out of the classroom.

An new year, already in sixth year. June felt the time was flying. She would spend her time still two years on this school, and than that period was over. And she would see what her future hold for her. But until she was there she had plans still and goals to achieve. And so far all she wanted has came true, and hoped that, that would continue. Owls were over so this year seemed just an more relax year than last. But June never sat still, she was preparing for ahead. And still wanted to be the very best again this year.

The blonde made her way to the classroom and found her usual spot in the front. Making sure she was ready for class, and making notes with some parchment next to her. She watched the giant professor in her eyes and waited for him to start. That annoying new Gryffindor couldn't shut his mouth and she rolled her eyes. She was gonna say something of it when the professor wasn't. But she couldn't believe he wouldn't and she ignored for now. The professor told them that they would learn the history of Lord Voldemort and June had already read a lot about that. And the part of horcruxes the professor also mentioned in this. That was such an strange topic to the blonde, and she didn't understood why someone would want to do that. It was dark magic for sure, and she would never do herself. But figured she would protect someone she hold dearly to prevent them from dying. But for her mother that was too late. There was no homework, so the blonde took her belongings and made her way out.
