It was the new morning, her first in the massive castle and honestly, Tori was a mix of emotions. She'd managed to get to sleep alright last night after she'd paid a visit to her new head of house - Lumos had managed to keep that close to the chest, but after she'd woken up in the morning, and attempted to get her day started, by brushing her teeth, her hair and everything else, she realised she was kind of scared. Well, not really, but even though she wasn't alone, (she just had to look over at the other girls snoozing peacefully in their beds) she wasn't exactly not alone either. Rory was in another house and as yet she didn't really know anyone in this house. How could she? She had never met any of them before. Well, she'd met William on the train so it was nice that he was here, but he was the only one. Veronica was in this house, but she was in one of the upper years so it was hard for her to be there too. She didn't like it and so she'd made a plan that she was going to go and find Rory for breakfast. She knew roughly, what his schedule was like, mostly just using what she knew of him in holiday mode and since classes didn't start next week and she was hoping that Quidditch practice also wouldn't start until next week, she would find him roughly now at the Ravenclaw table for breakfast - and so that's exactly where she went.

With her newly minted Gryffindor robes and her hair pulled up into a messy ponytail on the side of her head, she quickly rushed down the stairs (taking them two at a time) and headed into the great hall at what she considered to be a prefectly reasonable time, only to realise she was actually quite early. She frowned and just leaned against the wall to the entrance hall, playing with her wand she'd somehow managed to remember to grab in the fray for this morning, and waited for her brother to appear.

Rory hadn’t expected Tori to be sorted into Ravenclaw but that hadn’t stopped him from being disappointed when the hat had called out Gryffindor. At least she would be under the supervision of their mum’s friend Professor Cade. She seemed to have a good relationship with the man, more so than him but that was because James had been in Georgina’s life a lot more when Tori was growing up and less so in his earlier years. It was just how life worked out sometimes.

It was the morning after the sorting ceremony and Rory came down from Ravenclaw tower to the entrance hall intending to head to breakfast at his house table but he spotted a familiar face waiting by the door. “You know you’re supposed to go inside the great hall for breakfast right?”

"There wasn't anyone in there yet," Tori explained, popping away from the door when her brother appeared. Honestly it was kind of weird seeing him this early in the morning. When she was still at home with just her and her mum, unless she was rudely awakened in the mornings she usually slept until at least ten. She didn't get to sleep until noon very often, but she'd managed it a time or two and she enjoyed that immensely. She wasn't entirely sure what his schedule was like these days, she never saw him, but since he was a Ravenclaw and he was on the Quidditch team that probably meant he had a pretty tight schedule. "Besides, I wanted to wait for you. It's been ages since we had breakfast together, and this is the last year we'll get to because once you graduate and stuff, you'll go join the Kea or the Macaws as the b@dass chaser you are and I'll never see you. You'll probably never write to me," he hadn't been very good at it (nor had she) "And besides, it's not illegal to wait for your favourite brother is it? Have breakfast with me please?"

Rory couldn’t help but smile as Tori lavished him with compliments and laid on all the reasons why they should have breakfast together and hang out. Honestly she could have stopped at ‘because she wanted to’ and it would have sufficed. “Tori, I’m your only brother,” He laughed and ushered her into the great hall. “I assume you plan on joining me at the Ravenclaw table?” He asked her as he turned and headed towards his usual spot. Rory hoped she wasn’t sacrificing time with her friends to spend time with him, she would need them more once he was gone being a ‘bad*ss chaser’ as she put it, and it wasn’t like they’d ever lose touch, their mother would kill them. “So how does it feel being in Gryffindor? You’re in with the cool kids now, and you have an in with the head of house which I’m sure has given you all kinds of ideas,”

@Victoria de Lacey

Tori laughs, shrugging as Rory reminds her he's her only brother. He's her only sibling, it's not like she has any others just running about. It made her a little jealous, that he also had other sisters, other little sisters even if she was the littlest. Fayre was younger than him too after all. She didn't voice it though, she didn't really see the point. She knew her jealousy could take on a mind of its own and she didn't seen the need to burden her brother with silly little baby things like that. "Of course, I'm not going to just come and bug you out here and not take advantage of your great swathes of wisdom, am I?" she asked, following him into the great hall and over to the Ravenclaw table, sitting down beside him and nodding to a couple of the other students at the table. None of them really seemed to pay her any mind, though she did wave to Eoghan slightly down the other end before looking back at her brother. She leans into Rory conspiratorially as she slides some ham onto her plate and his. "I've had some thoughts, I was thinking me and Jasper, thats my friend who plays gobstones if you remember, are going to break into his office and steal some parchment and forge a letter with his signature so we can be out after curfew," she tells him, raising her eyebrows at him. It's so absurd, there's not way he'd believe it.

Rory picked at some of the meats on the plates in front of him as he listened to Tori fill him in on her plans. He’d chosen to ignore her comment about taking advantage of his wisdom but maybe he should offer her some wisdom based on the benefit of his experience and age, he had after all been where she was and he could help her try and stay out of trouble. Assuming of course, trouble wasn’t her intention, he couldn’t always tell when it came to his sister. “You really think that will work?” He asked. Fighting the urge to tell her that it wouldn’t, the last thing she needed was to be told not to do something, it would only make her dig in deeper.

"No, probably not, but it can't hurt to try, right?" He was probably right, not that she could read his mind, but she didn't really need to be able to read his mind to know what he might be thinking, she'd known her brother her whole life after all. He probably thought she was making trouble for herself, and honestly she kind of was, but as much as she liked Mr. Cade, she couldn't allow that to get into the way of her making friends. She was contributing by knowing the professor, Jasper was contributing in his own way too. "I'm in his office all the time at the moment, I'm helping Esme, that's his daughter, did you know he had other kids we didn't know about? Crazy huh? They got announced at sorting I don't know if you noticed, but she'd got a twin in Slytherin so identical twin genes must run in the family, you might not have caught it with all the names going around and since the boys were called up too, and there were Potters, OH, there's POTTER'S CAN YOU BELIEVE IT and there's other Potter's here too! Crazy! Honestly the fact that I'm sharing a house with two Potter's is weird enough, but that they're related along the same line but in different ways is insanity, I'm telling you, the girl's dorm was where it was at honestly, I think there's a potter in your house too, Adelaide? I'm not sure, but anyway, so we, that's me and Kiera, that Mr. Cade's brother's daughter, his niece! So me and Keira decided to take Esme to see her dad, so she could get to know him and I wanted to stay around for emotional support, you know?"

Rory laughed and had been about to respond after he had popped a piece of ham in his mouth, but had didn’t get that far. The response or the ham, because Tori opened her mouth and what came out Rory could only describe as word vomit as she told him everything that was going on from the drama of the sorting ceremony, to everything that happened in the Gryffindor girls dorm, everyone seemed to be related, Potters, Cades, secret children being revealed, Rory was lost and he was more worried about Tori breathing than anything she was actually saying. “Tori breathe!” He finally managed to get something out as he found an opening in Tori’s outburst and she finally brought it to a close. “So you’re…having fun?” Was she enjoying being amongst so much drama? He certainly wouldn’t be, but he and his sister were very different people.
