Sara smiled, deciding in that moment, that she wasn't going to let one little thing ruin a good conversation. "Are you looking forward to it? I've never played gobstones." she admitted, slightly embarrassed that she knew nothing about Annabelle's job. She was glad they were on safer ground now, and she didn't want Annabelle to feel uncomfortable. Sara knew she had a dangerous occupation, but she also knew she was doing something good for the world by being an auror. That's why she'd chosen the profession.
She bit the inside of her cheek and focused on trying to salvage things. Why had she asked what Annabelle did? It would've been so much easier if she hadn't. then again, if they were going to be friends, Annabelle would have found out eventually, and probably would've resented Sara's lie of omission. It was more than likely better that she knew now, but still Sara felt like kicking herself. Annabelle's husband had died as an auror. It would obviously be a sore subject for her.
Sara decided not to mention that her family knew very little about how dangerous her job was; her parents being muggles, and instead listened to Annabelle's points. "I am careful. I promise. As for my family; my parent are muggles, they live in England and would be very hard to trace. It's hard to be away from them, but they're safer that way. I take every precaution Annabelle. I want to live, but I want to make it easier for other people to live too." she replied. Star and Ryan were both travelling; they'd also be hard to track. The only member of her family that was in any sort of danger was Kate, but she was a capable witch, and she had wards around her house and such. Besides, Sara was a junior auror. she hadn't had time to make many enemies yet. "I promise, I'm very careful." She smiled reassuringly at Annabelle, touched by the other woman's concern.
