Ash Richards walked through the grounds of Beauxbatons, muttering greetings to people he knew, but mainly trying to avoid conversation. He was heading for the lake, where he had a hidden away spot, still in view of the lake, but where none of the grounds could see it. He had an acoustic guitar case in his hand, and was eager to get away to get away to some piece and quiet. He still felt restless, which bothered him. He had thought it had been being in a relationship that had make him feel that way, so he had broken up with the girl. But he still felt it. He now wondered, maybe it was just the wrong girl. Ash had always been a lover, and sometimes not the most faithful, but he was a lover none the less.

He sighed to himself as he entered the clearing, and sat down. His uncliped his guitar case and pulled his acoustic guitar out of it. He smiled to himself as he played a chord. It was still intune. He began playing a song he had learned the other day.

"I'm back, back in town, and everything has changed.
I feel, feel let down, the faces stay the same.
I see, see shadows, of who we used to be.
When I drive, drive so slow, through this memory.

When we were only kids, and we were best of friends,
and we hoped for the best, and let go of the rest.

I heard, heard myself say things I take back.
If I could, could re-tell and make these stories last.
I see, see shadows of who we'll always be.
When I drive, drive these roads that made our memories...."
His voice rang out as he heard footsteps coming through the hidden path he had made. It seemed his secret spot was a secret no longer.

Chloe LeBlanc was bored out of her mind. Most of her friends were busy studying or not in school at all, and even so, she wasn't in much of a mood to see any of them. It seemed as if none of them wanted or cared to listen to her much anymore. It wasn't exactly fair, but that was how life was at that given moment. But the thing was that Chloe just didn't care. She could at least try to entertain herself. While thinking of what to do, it had dawned on her that she hadn't ever really explored the grounds aside from where she had classes. So it was then that she got up, and began to wander. The school proved bigger than she thought, and she had found some interesting spaces after all. But then, something strange happened. She began to hear someone, a man, sing.

Curiously, as Chloe often was, she followed the voice and found herself going through a path. It seemed as if someone had made it themselves, and as unsafe as blindly following a trail was, she still did. Eventually, she saw the boy playing guitar. When he stopped playing, Chloe went over to him and blinked, tilting her head to the side. "Excuse me... This is a weird question but, was that you?" The girl had always wished that she could learn an instrument, but she was never musically inclined.

Ash had listened to the footsteps. They were light, and well balanced, indicating a graceful step. This often ment it was a girl, whereas a boys footsteps would have been more loud and uncautious. He looked up as, like he had guessed, a girl entered the clear. This wasnt just any girl though. It was possibly the most gorgeous girl he had ever seen, which made him wonder why he hadnt seen her yet. He snapped back to himself, tearing his gaze from her as he realised his mouth was hanging open in astonishment. "I... Um... Yeah." he managed to say, blushing slightly. This was crazy. No girl had made him feel this way, ever. And yet, she waltzes in and bam!

Ash looked back up at her. He studied her a bit more, and smiled to himself, as he tried to calm himself down. "It was a muggle song, Shadows and Regrets." he said, wondering if this girl was musical. He moved over on the fallen log he had been sitting on and nodded his head towards it. "I can play you more if you like?" he said, smiling to her. 'Great, be the girls personal CD player... Good one Ash' he scolded himself mentally.

Chloe smiled more and let out a small laugh. The boy was actually very cute, now that she got a better look at him. Her nose crinkled as well, a habit she had learned to hate from a very young age. "You're really good, great voice too. I wonder why I haven't seen you at school yet." After all they looked the same age. But, as she discovered earlier, the school was much bigger than she originally thought. With that she sat on the log with him happily, ankles crossing properly and swiftly. Though her eyes focused on the blush he had, and she felt herself getting a little pink as well. This was strangely out of character, she never blushed!

"I think I know that song.. By Yellowcard, right? My cousin loves them." Her cousin, Austin, had gotten the musical genes in her family. Chloe could carry a tune if she wanted to, but he was good enough to actually make a living out of singing (which he had full intention of doing.) "I'd actually love if you'd play more... That is if you don't mind playing much." The blonde didn't want to burden him after all. That would be rude of her.

Ash shrugged. The school admittedly was big, but as he looked at her, she seemed to be the same age, which didnt make him wonder how he had ever not seen her. "Well to be honest, my friends and i spend more time sneaking out of the school, and in detention, than we do actually do attend school." he said, smirking at her. He wasnt sure if she particularly liked trouble-makers, but it was what he was. He blushed again as he realised she had paid him a compliment. "I... Oh... Um... Yeah, thanks. Im not all that good. My cousin is the singer from the muggle band Mayday Parade, and he taught me a bit." he said, looking down again.

He beamed at her and nodded when she mentioned the band. "I love them... Growing up with a muggle family, the only bands i know are muggle ones, obviously." he chuckled, mentally slapping himself. He was being sloppy. He strummed another chord on the guitar, deciding which song he would play next. "For you, my lady, i would play till the end of time." he said cornishly, grinning at her. "Im Ash, by the way." he said before starting to strum chords again.

"You're making a choice to live like this
And all of the noise, I am silence

We already know how it ends tonight
You run in the dark through a firefight
And I would explode just to save your life
Yeah, I would explode

Let me light up the sky
Light it up for you
Let me tell you why
I would die for you
Let me light up the sky

I can't find a wall to pin this to
They're all coming down since I've found you

I just wanna be where you are tonight
I run in the dark looking for some light
And how will we know if we just don't try?
We won't ever know

Let me light up the sky
Light it up for you
Let me tell you why
I would die for you

Let me light up the sky
Light it up for you
Let me make this mine
I'll ignite for you."
he said, whiching glancing at her and the lake. He had picked another Yellowcard song, and laughed softly as he finished, wondering just how much he had ment in that song to her. He was confused, and scared secretly. No girl had captivated him like this, and the fact that he didnt even know her name but felt this way scared him. "So..." he said, softly, nervous again.

"Oh you're so bad." Chloe laughed and smiled more and more. She didn't really care about how someone spent their days at school, after all, she had a habit of sneaking around as well. But the thing was, her mother and father would've killed her if they ever caught wind of her skipping classes or getting in trouble in school. They were an over-strict, tightly strung couple that had always breathed down Chloe's neck since her very first day of schooling. "And don't cut yourself short. You're the best singer I've heard yet! Plus you know, most professionals are just auto-tuned." Though the smile melted into a grin. "Mayday Parade... Wow. I've heard them too. Music runs in the family then!"

It was interesting to her that he had grown up with muggles. After all, only half her family was magical. Her mother just waltzing around and reciting spells was clear in her memory. It was hard to think of a childhood where that just didn't happen. This guy is really funny... She thought to herself, matching his corny tone. "Oh why thank you kind sir!" She felt her face heat as he grinned at her. "I'm Chloe."

She listened to the song and smiled softly. It was a great song, and it sounded even better when he sung it. In fact, she found herself humming to the tune while he sang. Then her blue eyes drifted to the lake, and for the first time in a while, she felt serene. "Isn't it nice out today? I don't even think there's a cloud out today!" With that, she lent back dangerously and found herself almost slipping, but then retreated back upwards.

He couldnt help but let a grin slide across his face at her first comment. "Bad to the bone." he said, and burst out laughing. He was not back to his normal, comfortable self. This girl was really cool. Nice, drop deag gorgeous, and had a sense of humor. He like that in a girl. He could only shrug when she told him not to sell himself short. He was nothing compared to his cousin, but he tried. He watched her, and took in all her features. He bowed his head to her, ending the corny comments, and laughing gently. He was really enjoying himself with her.

He thought about what he would be doing if he hadnt ditched his friends this weekend. Suck with his ex, miserable and awkward. Yep, this definately beat that. Chloe... He liked her name. In fact, he couldnt think of anything he didnt like about her. He listened to her comments on the weather as she watched the lake. "Stunning," he said, not taking his eyes off of her. He looked away, realising he had called her stunning without noticing. He hoped she hadnt, because she would probably scold him, or turn him down in advance.

Sydney laughed with him, covering her mouth and trying to make sure that she didn't snort at the end of it. She had a nasty habit of doing that, and her close friends would call her a pig jokingly. It was funny, but not exactly a nice thing to do. She had become self-concious about it. In all her thoughts of it, she actually let it slip, ending her giggle with a small snort. Then her face lit up a bright red, standing out horribly against her pale skin. Then her hands covered the most of her face as she could, though you could still see the red on her ears and on little parts of her face that were exposed. Why was she blushing so much?

After the blush subsided she looked to her new friend, only seeing that he was staring at her. She just smiled at him, looking away only a little bit. She didn't want to give him the idea that she was disinterested, but she wouldn't drape herself all over him. Playing a little hard to get was good. After all it proved how much a guy was willing to go for you. And plus, it was sort of nice to see a guy that showed interest in her too.

Ash listened to her laughing, smiling at the sound. It was like music to his ears, and then, the music cut off, and after a familiar noise, was gone. He frowned, and smirked. He wasnt sure if he had heard correctly. It was rare he heard a girl snort. He snapped back from his semi-consious gaze and look at her, astonished. "Did... Was that a snort?" he asked her incredulously. It must have been, because she was hiding her face. He slid over to her, wrapping an arm around her. "Hey, dont be embarrassed. Really... It was, cute actually." he said, noticing red on her face. She was blushing, alot. Ash's mind raged. Did that mean she liked him? Or was simply embarrassed to have been seen snorting?

He realised he still had his arm around her, and half jumped back to where he was sitting. The sun was going down, and the sky had a crimson look to it, illuminating the lake. Ash sighed to himself as he watched it. He placed his guitar in its case and stood up, walking down to the lakes edge and watching the sunset. He was worried he was being to forward, and didnt like rejection much. He had noticed her smile and look away, which usually ment 'Im not interested but im too nice to say it'. Ash really didnt know what to do, and he was fighting every part of his body from turning around to look at her... In case he got carried away and tried to kiss her.

There was an arm around Chloe's shoulder. She tried not to squeal at the contact, and in honesty she was relieved that he thought that it was cute. "I hate my snort..." The girl's voice grew quieter and she looked at him, examining his face up close and noticing small things that made him really cute. For example, he had really cute eyes. She bit her lip and restricted the urge she had to give him a kiss and just laughed a little to try to play off the snort. "I'm glad you think it's cute, most people make fun of me for it, actually." She didn't know why she was telling him that either, after all she very rarely told people that it annoyed her like it did.

The sunset was beautiful, and the whole surrounding was just perfect. Although, she was discouraged when Ash moved away from her. After all she enjoyed the closeness that they were just experiencing. Quite bravely, she made her way to him and knealt down, wrapping her arms around his neck and resting on his shoulder a little bit. "I really like sunsets... They're relaxing." All the while she was trying to play it off cool. In her mind, however, she was worried. What if she didn't like her like she liked him? What if he thought that this was too much? But the thing was, she didn't want to retract from him.

Ash looked up when he heard Chloe behind him. He smiled at her watching her stand there. When he came down and wrapped her arms around him, Ash had to admit he was surprised and relieved. He pulled her around to sit down beside him, wrapping an arm around her and resting his head on top of hers. His whole world was bliss then. He felt invincible as they sat there, wrapped in each others embrace, staring out at the sunset. It was the perfect moment, one of those moments you see in a movie, or on a picture and you think 'Yeah, only in fantasies',but here he was, experiencing one of his own.

He reached an arm up to stroke her cheer, his hands gentle against her soft skin. He wasnt sure if he was picking up her signals propely, but he also didnt care. "Let me light up the sky, light it up for you... Let me tell you why, i would die for you..." he sang softly, pulling his head up to watch her. The next few moments were a blur to him, and he dont know how it happened exactly, but he leaned down and kissed her deeply, the feel of her soft lips on his making his whole world explode with color.

She couldn't help but feel her heart beat out of her chest. Chloe was living out any girl's dream right now. It was like someone took a page out of their favorite romance book and just stuck it right where Ash and she were. This was only heightened when he kissed her, and she felt her head spin. She hadn't expected it at all, but she was glad that he had done it. After all, she probably wouldn't have. It was just a certain thing about him that just made her crazy.

After what seemed to be the longest time, she pulled away from him and smiled, resting on his body and blushing pink. This seemed to be too perfect, and deep down inside it scared her a little. No matter how strong she played herself off to be she was, deep down, a scared little girl that just didn't want to get hurt. Though for some reason she didn't think that he would hurt her, at least not at the current moment or time. And for that, she was thankful.

A thousand questions raged through Ash's head. What was happening? Was this a one time thing? Were they together now? Why was he falling for her? Of all the questions these were the constant ones. He didnt know what was happening, but he sure as hell didnt want this to be a one time thing. He was falling for her, hard, this he knew... And he wanted it. He wanted her, and no one else, and yet, he barely knew her. He didnt want to ruin this moment of pure peace, sitting her wrapped around her, but he knew he had to.

He sat there a little while long her in silence, feeling the warm of Chloe's body radiating to him. He wasnt sure how to ask this, as he had never actually done it before, but he was going to try either way. He knew that she liked him, at least a bit, or she would have stopped that kiss. So he was going to go for it. In his mind he pictured a cliff, and he was running head long at it. This was where he was gonna grow wings, or he was gonna plummet, so here he went.
"Chloe, i... i want to know if you, would like maybe... Want to be my girlfriend?" He asked, looking down at her again.

Chloe almost didn't hear him. It was like her heart was beating too loudly in her ears to hear him. She looked up to him and blinked a couple of times, contemplating on what to say. Of course it was a yes, but she wasn't sure how to say it. She couldn't just say yes and look ecstatic, but at the same time she couldn't sound bored. Gah, why were relationships so hard? It was just the first step and she couldn't even think about what to say already! "S-Sure." The blonde mumbled, kissing his cheek and smiling.

She hoped that made him happy, because her day, month, year even, was made. Her friends were going to be jealous once she told them about this. Even her guy friends would be a little jealous she bet to herself silently, contemplating reactions in her head. It was a beautiful, serene moment with nothing going wrong for once in her life. She was doing well in school, and now she had a boyfriend. Perfect. But they didn't know each other well, and that needed to change. "Hey, Ash... Want to play the question game?"

Ash was over the moon when she said yes. He had managed to grow wings and fly away, instead um plummetting into the ground. A grin spread across his face, and in would stay there for the rest of the day. The week maybe. He then though about what his friends would say. They would think it was just another name of the list for Ash, but this was different. This was real. He now had a reason to stop sneaking out of school so much, because the person he wanted was in the school. He kissed her forehead, overjoyed with how the day had gone. "A question game? Sure i suppose.... How does this question game work?" he asked curiously. Anything to get to know her better.

OOC: Sorry its short.... Have major writers block at the moment.

OOC: It's okay xD

"Basically," Sydney smiled, fixing her hair, "We take turns asking each other questions about anything." She then resumed leaning on him, relaxing even more now that they were comfortable with each other. Though she wasn't experienced with relationships, even if she was considered an attractive girl. She had only had one or two relationships, one lasting only a couple of days. She hoped that this would help her mature more, not like she was immature. But it was nice to be held and to feel this safe and protected in another's arms. It was a shame that they eventually had to get up to either sleep or go to class.

Ash smiled and nodded his understanding towards the game. He had wanted to get to know Chloe more, and this provided the ideal way of doing it. He considered for a few moments what he was going to ask, then he had another idea. "I used to play this game with a friend a while ago. Its a question game, but with a prize and its a bit more fun then simply asking questions." he explained with a grin. "What happens is we ask a question about ourselves, like, whats my favourite color." he said, pausing to make sure she was keeping up, 'And give three choices to choose from. Red, purple or blue. Then the other person has to guess which is the right one." he explained. "First to get three or five correct wins and gets a prize decided on at the start of the game." he finished and chuckled. It was a mouthful of a game. "Sound fun?"

"Hm... That sounds good." Chloe grinned. That seemed a lot more fun, and there were prizes! No, she wasn't competitive, but she was a fan of prizes. Even when she was little, at the mention of a prize, whether it be in a game or in an activity, she would always aim to get it. Though now this was guessing, so it would be a lot more fun and random. And then on top of that, she'd get to know who Ash was as a person. This was just getting better and better, and it was about to get funner and funner. It was going to be an interesting experience, and that was for sure. After all, Ash seemed to be quite the troublemaker from what she could make out. They almost seemed opposite from what she could figure.

Ash grinned and nodded. He had expected her to like this game, so he had already come up with a few questions already. "Well we should probably decide on a prize first, and i think i'll let you choose what it will be." he said with a chuckle. He wasnt sure what she would choose but really, he didnt mind. Whatever it was couldnt be that bad. "And i suppose i will go first shall i, but to give you the general idea of the game. What is my favourite song?" he asked, " Shadows and Regrets - Yellowcard, Light up the Sky - Yellowcard or Over my Head - A Day To Remember, another muggle band i like." he asked, smiling and kissing her forehead.

"Hm... Whoever wins doesn't have to pay on our first date out." Chloe chirped. She wouldn't mind paying if she had to, and he would seem sweet if he payed. It was a win-win situation for the both of them, aside from losing a little bit of money. But she wondered what it could be when he quized her. After all he had sung two of them already, so maybe it was the odd one out. "Over My Head." She guessed, blanking out a little. It would be funny if she did get it right, but something told her that she didn't. Either way, it was a guess, and there was a thirty three percent chance that she was, in fact, right.

Ash couldnt help but laugh at her suggestion for a prize. "I would pay anyways, so you'll have to choose another." he said, shaking his head. What was the would coming to when a man would make a woman pay for anything on a date? He played with her hair as she pondered what his answer could be. He already knew it of course, and wondered if she would get it right. Ironic, how his favourite song was the one that had led her too him. "Nope, its Shadows and Regrets. I love it, its a great song, and its also the thing that led you too me." he said with a smile, still playing with her hair. The was was barely over the horizon now.

Chloe smiled and looked up at him with her big blue eyes, "You don't have to pay for me... And how about the prize is.. Um... I don't know." She frowned softly and shrugged. "You come up with it." She was never one to be dependent on someone, so she tended not to let people pay for her, but if he wanted to who was she to stop him? And she snapped her fingers when she was proven wrong, smiling and giving a slight giggle. "Dang it. Well," She looked out to the setting sun and hummed. "What do you think I want to be when I get out of school? A dragon trainer, someone who works for the ministry, or a professor?" This was always something that the person got wrong.

Ash shook his head again and made a hand gesture dismissing her protests. "I was brought up in a rich muggle family. They always drilled proper manners and all that stuff into me. Paying for a womans meal and taking her out is the gentlemans way. Its just who i am." he explained. "So yes, i will be paying for you, silly." he said the last word cheekily, kissing her cheek. When she told him to choose the prize he sighed and considered it for a minute. He suddenly came up with a badass thing, but wondered if she would disapprove of it. "Well, the sun is down, and all the other students are in bed... If i win, you have to come skinny dipping with me. And if you win... I'll do a nude run through the grounds?" he said, laughing softly. He had done it before, but had had a mask on. He didnt have that now. At her question, he thought about it hard. "A Dragon Trainer?" he asked curiously. It was most likely wrong, but it sounded cool and extreme.

"If you insist." Chloe sighed and kissed his cheek, smiling eventually. She still felt bad to have someone paying for her. Though, it was nice to have a gentleman fuss over her like this. Every girl wanted to be treated like a princess and it seemed as if this was her time. But then he said the prizes. If her mother even heard him, Chloe would be grounded forever. "N-No! Ash!" She laughed and blushed at the thought; it sounded fun but it just wasn't her thing. "Something less extreme! Just as fun, but nothing to do with nudity." She snickered and her blush remained intact, though she didn't know. "And correct! Dragon trainer!" Chloe had a love for dragons, even when she was a little girl. As much as she was girly, she loved the thrill of working with the unpredictable creatures that they were. Her family did have a history of doing just that, and she already had a scar on her shoulder from working with one when she was six.

Ash laughed heavily at her reaction to the prize. He had expected as much, and had merely said the prizes as a joke. "Haha, joking... I was just seeing what your reaction would be like. Your picking the prize." he said then pointed to himself, "Badass, remember?" he said, with a smirk. He clapped his hands when she said he had gotten the question right. He had suspected that she was an extreme girl at heart, just brought up with stiff parents. "I think that its extremely cool that you want to be a dragon trainer. Very extreme." he said with a wink at the end. He pondered his next question and decided to steal Chloe's. "What career am i looking to follow when i leave school?" Profession Quidditch Player, Musician or an Auror?" he asked, wondering which she'd take him for.
