Zara hadn't spent much time with her brother over the past year and with them away at their grandparent's home she felt it only fair to talk to him because she knew that although she was going through more of a tumultuous time than she'd ever expected that Lennon was in a relationship with someone who didn't treat him well and she needed to talk some sense into her brother or else she'd have to use much stronger language with Aminia. Zara also felt the need to ask him about something she'd felt too scared to bring up where other people might hear. The rose he'd sent her made her sure that he knew that she liked girls - that she was some sort of freak for having a crush on Darcy - and now with their holidays started she knew that she needed to have a serious yet tactful talk with him about what he might know. With this all in mind, Zara made her brother a coffee and a tea for herself and knocked on his door hoping he would be awake so they could talk.

Lennon was so glad for this school year to be over, he somehow felt busier than ever yet like nothing had happened all at the same time. He'd finally gotten past the point of being frustrated all the time and was now venturing on indifference towards everything. He felt tired and alone but he knew he wasn't the only one. Lennon sat in his room reading when he heard a soft knock on his door. He knew it was Zara and said, "Come in," but the door didn't immediately open at first. He got up and walked over to open the door, seeing that his twin had two mugs in her hands so she couldn't have opened the door. Immediately he could tell something was up but he smiled at her, finding instant comfort in her presence. "Hey," he said, taking the cup of what he hoped was coffee for him, as he stood back to let her in. "What's up?"

Zara was finding it difficult to balance both drinks so when Lennon got up instead of waiting for her to open the door she was glad for it and carefully handed him the coffee. She walked into his room and sat on his bed as she said, "Missed you, Lenny." She knew he hated the nickname and when they were little she'd called him that to bug him but now it felt comfortable so she used it anyway. "We barely got to talk last year so I'm glad we're home," Zara said, ignoring that this wasn't exactly their home but it was the place they spent most of their holidays thanks to the lack of care their mother gave them both. The teen was glad to have someone else to face all of this with and hated that she had spent so much time away from him over the past year but he knew her too well and she simply couldn't face Lennon knowing yet.

Lennon rolled his eyes as she called him Lenny, but it was a routine he was rather fond of now. He took a seat on his bed, making space for her to sit too. "Missed you too," he said truthfully. He felt strangely distant from her because so many things had happened but he didn't like to pry so he stayed quiet, but he wished she would talk to him. Not that he was any better at starting the conversation either. Maybe that's what she was here for. Lennon took a sip of the coffee, made just the way he liked it, and nodded at her statement. "I know, I'm glad the year's over," he said with more relief than he meant to, as if he'd be holding on to some sort of tension. His grandparents' house felt more like home then their actual home did but being with Zara was more comforting than the familiarity of his room at his grandparents house. "Think we'll make prefects?" he said sarcastically, knowing their Head of House hated them simply for not liking Quidditch.

Zara was nothing if not task oriented so as tactful as she was trying to be there was a part of her that knew that Lennon could see right through her calm facade without any difficulty at all. That said when he had said with a big heave that he was glad the school year was over she felt that she wasn't the only one hiding something so the girl asked, hoping that it would be enough for Lennon, "Rough year?" The girl took a sip of her tea but coughed on it when it was suggested that they might make prefects. She could hardly imagine such a thing happening. Firstly, Zara's grades were mediocre at best and secondly, the pair had made enemies of their Head of House for insulting his favourite game for legitimate reasons. It was clear the man was a petulant child so no, neither of the Cohen-Knight's would make prefect. "Sure. Just as soon as pigs learn to fly," she said flatly with a roll of her eyes.

Lennon carefully sipped his coffee so he wouldn't burn his tongue and stalled for time when Zara asked if it had been a rough year. He mulled it over and shook his head. "Just a really long one," he said with an exhale. Compared to the year Zara had he didn't think he had any right to complain about his own. After being banned from the Quidditch Pitch, he'd had detention with their Head of House and found a Quidditch trophy with their dad's name on it and it had bothered Lennon a lot but he hadn't told Zara about it because he didn't want to upset her more, so instead he let it eat at him instead and preoccupied himself with the school paper and the usual back and forth dance he did with Aminia. All stuff he was sure she didn't want to hear about. Lennon drank his coffee again and chuckled into his cup at her comment. Once Cliffeton had been announced the Ravenclaw head he had quickly made peace with the fact that they'd never be chosen so he didn't even care. "So, what did you want to talk about?" he asked casually, hoping she had warmed up enough to reveal why she had come to his room.

Zara frowned at what Lennon revealed to her, she hated to hear that he'd had a hard year when she'd been practically avoiding him. Her guilt was palpable but she swallowed on and hoped that Lennon would explain himself. He, however, did not so she said, "Actually... It's about Aminia." She frowned as she looked into her cup, wishing that she didn't have to say these words but she cared about her twin too much not to. "She doesn't treat you very nicely. I heard what happened at the ball with you two and Sianna." Zara much preferred Sianna to Aminia but more importantly one treated her brother like trash and it was her job to tease him and bug him. No one else was allowed to do that and since Zara rarely did that she couldn't believe someone he was meant to be dating could dare it.

Lennon cocked his head to the side when his twin brought up Aminia because he knew Zara was not her biggest fan. He rolled his eyes when she brought up the yule ball and didn't want to talk about it but he had to reassure her of everything. "You don't have to worry about Mini, she ended things with me - not that there was really anything to begin with," he said, still annoyed by it all. She hadn't even given him a fair chance before she had broken things off. "And I apologized to Sianna, we're just friends," he added, trying not to be miffed by that either.
