Emmanuel had been enjoying the school so far, there was a lot of good things about it. He had been there all of one night and needed to send a letter home, telling them about the journey, about sorting, the hat, the food, the dorm, the common room. It hadn't taken long but he'd written a full four pages worth of information. It had helped that everything was just so interesting and different. His letter had included many assurances that he was going to do well, that he couldn't wait for classes. Emmanuel needed to do well for them, wanted to do well for them. Emmanuel had asked one of the older students where the owlery was and had managed to find his way up to the owlery. The place was immediately exactly as his grandparents owlery was. this was nosier, busier, dirtier, but it was a place he was familiar with. Without even needing to say anything his owl, Hoot, flew down to him. He greeted it with a smile and began tying his letter to its leg. He really hoped it wouldn't be too heavy for the owl.
