Liusaidh could admit the novelty of being a prefect had yet to wear off, and it wasn't like the badger her stopped her much. She just did what she wanted and barely had any reprecussions for it. She had been paired up with the head boy for patrols and other than that one tiny little incident where he claimed she'd "posioned" him, it was rather simple. Liusaidh didn't tend to do much and she also didn't care. She wasn't the sort to be bothered. It was the start of the second semester and she was due to meet with the head boy soon. She had gone home for the holiday so no time to get some extra prank goodies, had gotten brand new robes, completely fitting her style, and flowed well. She liked getting robes like this, they were such a comfortable fit and looked so exomparatively better than everyone elses(in her mind). She spotted the head boy down the corridor and took the time to unwrap a lollipop and put it into her mouth before moving over. "Kia Ora head boy," she greeted, using the maori greeting she'd picked up from the professors that said it, her accent not blending entirely well with it. "Lollipop?" she offered holding out a second lollipop for him, a smirk on her face.

Not a day had gone by this year that Connor hadn't regretted his choice of patrol partner. It had been Chloë's idea that the two of them should both keep an eye on the most troublesome of the new Prefects, but even after volunteering to take Liusaidh on himself Connor couldn't help regretting every moment of it. The Slytherin had been a constant thorn in his side ever since the patrol partners had been announced, and returning to their regular patrols together was something he had been very much not looking forward to about returning to school for the second semester. But he had a job to do, and he wasn't going to shirk his responsibilities. That didn't make him a fool, and he gave Liusaidh a sharp look when she offered him a lollipop. "I'm not stupid." He said firmly, still feeling a little sick at the memory of how badly the Prefect meeting had gone for him. He should have unleashed Liusaidh on Nicole instead and let two of his problems solve each other. "Let's just get going, we've got a lot of ground to cover."

Liusaidh gave a little giggle and then put the lollipop back into her pocket. "All the more fae me," she replied putting the lollipop in her mouth and then motioning for him to lead the way. "Course we do," she agreed with a false tone. "Cannae let the kids run about," she told him, knowing she'd done way worse and would continue to do worse. She was lightly whistling to herself as they got started. She knew she could make this whole experience a little less painful for Connor but she certainly wasn't going to. She really held nothing against him, she didn't know the boy, but she was also completely disinterested in getting to know him or being responsible.

Connor kept the disapproval clear on his face when Liusaidh responded, not trusting the lightness of her tone. He was still fairly certain this had been Styx's last insult to the school; putting Liusaidh of all people in a position of power before he left. He kept one eye on her as they began to walk, only half paying attention to the corridors around them. In all his time as Prefect, Connor hadn't had a single run-in with a student out after curfew on his patrols, and he wasn't expecting tonight to be the first time. The more important job, as far as he was concerned, was keeping an eye on his personal charge. After a long silent walk, Connor decided to break the silence. "How are your OWL preparations going?" He asked, trying to keep his tone courteous, the same as he would talk with anyone else he was paired with. Of course Liusaidh wasn't anyone else, but he had to at least try.

Liusaidh was skipping next to him, not really paying attention to anyone around them and certainly not looking out for anyone breaking any rules, she'd give the lollipop a little lick and kept moving forward. She laughed lightly at his question. "They're no," since she wasn't going any prep, she didn't need to. "Ah'll be workin' fae the family when ah leave, no need fae stupid grades," she told him, which was the truth, she didn't bother because she wasn't interested in it, and didn't have to. She wouldn't ever need the grades, no OWLs or NEWTs, the family business in her brother's hands would keep working and going. "Ah bet yer gonna dae somethin' real borin' after school,"

Connor fought down the twitch of irritation at Liusaidh's words, trying to stay calm. Though he had made peace with his formerly estranged family, Connor had well and truly inherited Eric's dislike for people who got things in life by merit of having well off relatives. Of course Liusaidh acted the way she did because her family was wealthy. She didn't need to make friends or have good grades, or even finish school at all probably. It made his blood boil, but he wasn't Eric. "Oh, that's nice." Connor said, unable to keep the stiffness out of his voice. "What does your family do?" He tensed further when she mentioned his own career plans, thinking back to his conversation with Freya. It had only been a joke at first, but the more Connor thought about it the more it sounded like a good idea. "I'm going to be a florist."

Liusaidh laughed a little at his stiffness, and the twirled making sure that her robes swished as she did so. "We make robes," she said boastfully, she would go straight into the job, and would be set up for life. She raised her eyebrows as he said he would be a florist. That was a choice. "Interesting," though her tone said the opposite. "So does that mean yer also no working hard?" she asked. "Cause ahm mean, ye dinnae even need herbology tae sell flowers," Liusaidh told him. He was head boy and seemed like the sort to be very focused but she also didn't see how he could want to work if that was his goal.
