SDA Meeting 1

Andrew heard Kat's talk and then walked towards the area for the fourth years. Looking at the spells for fourth years, he decided that the bat bogey hex should be good to practise first so witha wave of his wand he casted it at the dummy whose boogers started to expand and it got wings and charged at Andrew.

Andrew pointed his wand at the dummy and said "Impedimentia" and it slowed down to a snail's speed as Andrew looked around to see what the other fourth years were practising and caught glimpse of Kat in the corner with a Ravenclaw guy. Not wanting to offend them he quickly looked back to his dummy
.

Tom was busy marking his 7th Years' essays on Dragons when he noticed he was late for an engagement. Running down to the destination he was supposed to have been at before. Tom ran as quick as he could, he noticed he was a bit late. Tom opened the door to the Duelling Chamber. "Sorry I'm late guys! Tom said apologetically he said to Miss Vanderhol.

Kat was just about to walk over and join the rest of the fifth years when her Head of House showed up. She grinned widely at him and said, "Right on time actually! I've just had them practicing on the dummies for a bit." Kat whistled loudly to get everyone's attention and then looked around to make sure that everyone was listening. "Okay guys Professor Fletcher is here. He's doing this as a favor to us so please be polite." She turned to Professor Fletcher and said, "Thanks for coming! I'm going to go over there with my group and practice on the mannequin a bit. I thought that maybe you could start with the second years since they have a limited amount of things they can actually do, but you may start wherever you feel most appropriate." With that Kat headed over to join the others in her year with an excited grin spread across her face.

"No problem" Tom concluded with a smile. "Its your show!" and with that Tom walked over to the second years. "Right folks, lets make the most of our time and get straight into the action. I'm going to line these dummies up on the other side of the wall, you will be opposite them and you will try summoning them with accio and banishing them. The we will move on and you will partner up and each attempt to disarm your opponent. Everyone understand?" Tom asked scanning their faces.

Larissa listened to the Professor's instructions, nodded and turned to her dummy.
She placed her left leg infront of her right before stepping backwards as she clearly called "Accio!"
The dummy sped fast towards Larissa. Her face froze in an expression of worry. As the dummy hurtled towards Larissa, she simply stepped to one side and collided with another student.
Larissa began to giggle. She didn't think this would win her the kindness awards, and so summonedthe dummy back, letting it slide past her and hit the wall.
"Ahem," Larissa cleared her throat.
"Accio" she said. The dummy once again sped towards Larissa. This time she was ready. "Depulso!"
The dummy whizzed back the other way and made a small 'crack' noise as it hit the solid wall.
Larissa knew she'd probably be told to be a little more gentle. This thought made her turn to the Professor and say rather plainly "In a battle you wouldn't want to be gentle." Larissa smiled mischeviously and got back to work.

Scorpius was running late, as usual to the very first SDA meeting that was being held. He was glad he was no longer a first year so he could finally join. After the incident in the Forbidden Forest, Merlin knew he needed more defensive training anyway. Scorpius walked in to see a bunch of students grouped together and after a quick once over, realized they were separated into years so he went to go stand with the rest of the second years, mumbling his apologies with his head hung low. There was a large scar running diagonally across his lips that was currently in stitches so he was feeling very self-conscious as of late, something rare for the Ravenclaw.

Deciding to just jump right into the practice that Professor Fletcher had told them, Scorpius followed after a blonde girl. He pulled out his Elder wand and pointed it at the dummy, his silver eyes focusing on the dummy ahead of him as he called out "Accio!" Quickly the dummy zoomed towards him, however he cried out "Depulso!" just in time for it to go back. If he had not seen the girl do it earlier, he probably would've been caught off guard and let it whiz right past him.

Ari turned her attention to the front of the room, where an older girl was giving instructions. Nodding, she walked over to the second year corner, smiling at Knight who joined them. The Proffesor told them to line up opposite the dummies, so she obediantly turned to face a dummie leaning up against the wall. She had learnt the summoning and banishing spells last year, and had practised them alot, so she was pleased when they were asked to summon and banish them.

Pointing her wand at the dummie, she muttered "Accio" and the dummie flew towards her. Giving her wand a quick flick she said "Everte Statum!" and the dummie was flung back against the wall. Pleased with her work, she waited for the others.

Sam listened to what the girl said and did as he was told to, he walked over to section where the second years were supposed to be practicing. He took his wand out and began to practice but was shortly stopped as a professor came over to instruct them what to do next. He couldn't wait to get started, he could finally have a proper duel with someone. But also, if needed, he could properly defend himself against an attacker. Noticing Scorpius arrive Sam gave him a wave and hurried over to him as the professor finished what he was saying.

Sam quickly took out his wand and did as he was told. He noticed what happened a few people and he was going to make sure that the same did not happen to him- he was not going to be run over by a dummy. "Accio." Sam said clearly and the dummy quickly sped over to him it took him a couple of seconds to remember that he had to banish it. "Depulso!" He shouted quickly just in the 'nick of time'. The dummy was almost right beside him and easily could have crashed into him. He smiled to himself as it crashed up against the wall. Sam kept his wand out and waited for their next instruction.

Wendy followed the directions of her House prefect and separated into the group with all her classmates in her year. It wasn't very long until the Professor came in and told them what to do. The first few students went first and it was now Wendy's turn. She inhaled and pulled out her wand, holding it steady. "Accio!" she said firmly at the dummy in which her azure eyes were focused on. Instantly the dummy whizzed by her, so fast that she had to move out of the way and the others barely had time to move when the dummy crashed into the wall. "Oops!" she said with an apologetic tone as she bit her lip nervously. She should've been better prepared after she had seen the others go up. She re-focused her attention on another dummy ahead of her and called out "Accio" again, this time more prepared. "Depulso!" she cried out right away and the dummy banished back. She smiled in reassurance but still felt rather embarrassed at messing up the first time and got out of the way for the next person to go.
