Roses in Wonderland

Red rose for @Alice Holland

Maddy was fairly sure that her next target was also delivering roses, which would make her a challenge to find. Maddy was all for challenges - what was an adventure without a little difficulty? - but for this one she decided the best place to start would be the entrance hall. All the deliverers passed through there; if she didn’t find Alice, she was bound to find somebody who knew her. “Aaaliiice! Alice Holland! Anyone seen Alice? Aaaaaliiiiiceeee!”

Alice was on her way to the great hall, which was usually a good place to find people when she needed to deliver a rose. She was really enjoying this day, the happy atmosphere in the air was making her happy. She practically skipped through the entrance hall, coming to a halt when she heard someone call her name. The girl turned out to be someone younger than her, and Alice saw she was delivering roses too. Alice approached with a bright smile. "Hi! I'm Alice!"

Maddy grinned excitedly as a girl approached and said she was Alice. “Alice! Hi! Hello! I’ve got a rose for you!” Alice seemed just about as keen as Maddy was, which was satisfying to see. Everyone should be excited about roses, particularly the people delivering them. Maddy flourished a red rose, then rummaged for the accompanying note.

Alice's heart skipped a beat when the girl took out the red rose, and for a moment she was sure this was a mistake. Then she quickly told herself it was probably from one of her sisters, but she was still pretty excited. She had never gotten a red rose before. Alice opened the note quickly and saw it was from Ava. That was very sweet of her. For a fraction of a second she had thought it might be Phineas, but she hadn't really expected it to be from him. Red seemed a bit much for that. She smiled quickly. "Thank you, what's your name?"
