Relaxing

Estrella smiled at Kale; she loved that even though he asked questions, he didn't pry, and she too sent Harper off to the owlery. She would write her letters later.

She hugged Kale tightly. "Agreed; break shall be awesome!" she grinned, "Although we won't get to see your family." Her face saddened a bit. "We could swing by there before we go to Carlisle's, of course."

She grinned, "That's alright. It's in Minnesota, one of the upper midwest states. Land of Ten Thousand Lakes, but it gets colder than heck." She grinned. "And, we're going there in the winter." She smiled maniacally, hugging him tightly, "You better bring your winter clothes."

Kale smiled at the thought of snow, it quickly faded off his face and went into an odd expression. Snow wasn't something that he did well around, the first time it snowed at Hogwarts, he remembered slipping on a patch of ice in front of the Astronomy Professor, Kaela and Courtney. It was definitely embarassing, but funny none the less. Kale smiled at Estrella and squeezed her hand, and looked down at Talyn who had once more slithered his way to the ground.

"I think Ma would like that a lot" he nodded with a warm smile. "I haven't been around much snow other than what we get here." Kale bit his lip and thought about the freezing weather, "I heard that it gets very cold around there." all of this made him think about how he would need to purchase more muggle clothing so he was dressed appropriately for the weather.

Estrella laughed. "Yeah, it depends on the year though. If we have a really hot summer, we end up getting horrid, horrid winters. Luckily, this last summer wasn't so bad." She grinned. "Does it not snow in Ireland?" She watched Talyn as he slithered across the grass, reminded of the garter snakes back in the Big Woods at home. Well, what used to be her home. Carlisle's home.

"Well, in certain parts of Ireland it does. Not much where I live though, it only gets cold enough for our lake to freeze over." Kale said while running his fingers through his hair, "I remember one year it got cold enough and snowed, but not more than an inch." he looked over at Tayln and picked him up once more, not wanting him to slither away and lose track of where he was. "Snow isn't...lets just say not my favorite thing in the world." Kale said with a laugh and arched brow.

"Oh, it's not so bad," Estrella said, grinning, "Making snowmen and having snowball fights is fun. I agree though, I'm not partial to the cold weather."

She pulled a strand of hair out of her face, and said, "Your lake only freezes over? Muggles go ice fishing in Minnesota. Except sometimes, when the ice thaws too quickly, some of the ice houses just disappear into the lake."

Realizing that she was droning on, Estrella snapped her mouth shut, simply smiling at Kale.

"Snowball fights? Snowmen?" Kale looked at Estrella with a furrowed brow, he had never 'played' in the snow before. "Yeah, the lake that we jumped in during the summer is cold year round because it thaws so slowly." he stated and stopped for a moment and thought about the memory of when Estrella jumped in because of his dare, "Have you ever gone ice fishing? I've never really got the point of it." Kale said with a goofy grin.

"I'll show you when we get there," Estrella laughed, loving Kale's goofy grin. "No, I've never been ice fishing; I've always seen it as pointless. And, I don't trust ice. I cannot skate on rollerskates, let alone on the ice."

"I know what it is, I've just never got to actually do it before." Kale said with a grin, thinking about how dumb he must look always asking her about all of these muggle customs. "Now that I think of it...that is a stupid idea. Why would people stand on ice?" his expression was silly when he spoke. "Skating is hard...well, ice skating is. I've never actually 'rollerskated'." Kale exclaimed, squeezing Estrella's hand.

"I have no idea," Estrella said, laughing and squeezing Kale's hand back, her eyes twinkling. She grinned awkwardly, biting her lip. "Well, all I know is that everytime I try to balance, I end up on my arse and with a bruised tailbone. That is soo not fun." She laughed. "I'm kind of a klutzy person."

Kales winced and bit his lip, "Ouuuuch!" he exclaimed with his big blue eyes larger than ever, his expression goofy. "That sounds like fun!" he said sarcastically looking at Estrella and cocking his head to the side.

"Well, that's what makes you so lovable." Kale replied with a warm smile at her 'klutz' comment, "I think everyone has their moments...just some people have them more than others." he laughed, knowing that what he said wasn't helping, he then realized that he was rambling and leaned in to give her a kiss so he'd stop.

"Aww, aren't you precious," Estrella laughed, hugging Kale tightly around his midsection. She returned the kiss happily, her eyes twinkling. She had never felt like this around anyone before, but with Kale, it just seemed natural. She watched Talyn as he tried to sneak away in the grass again, pulled away from Kale and picked him up. "You've got yourself a Houdini here." The milk snake's tongue flicked as she held him.

Kale smiled widely, "Aww, shucks!" he gave her a 'you shouldn't have!' kind of silly look and rolled his eyes sarcastically. He reached for Estrella's hand and laced fingers, "Talyn is a slippery one." Kale looked down at Talyn in Estrella's hand who was slowly slithering up her arm and flicking the air with his tongue. "You sure are something.." he said quietly looking at Talyn even though it was directed to Estrella.

Kale sat with his back straighter up against the tree and watched the other students walking by and sitting around on the green grass.

Estrella leaned into Kale, grinning and quiet for a moment. "You sure are something, too," she said quietly, hoping that it didn't sound too mushy. She held up her arm, which Talyn had wrapped himself around again, not strong enough to constrict her but she could still feel the pressure. "Now, a boa constrictor might be a mite scary. Just because they can kill you." She smiled, feeling slightly that she was talking to herself, "But there's no reason to be scared of something itty bitty, at least when its not venemous."

"Yeah, people mistake milk snakes like Talyn for coral snakes all the time. But a riddle that others should keep in mind is 'Red next to black, is a friend of Jack; red next to yellow, will kill a fellow.'" Kale informed like an encyclopedia and continuted, "Milk snakes can grow up to 72 inches long.." he trailed off and stopped for a moment, realizing that he must be boring Estrella to death with all of this useless information. "..sorry" he apologized embarrassedly(sp). Kale reached toward the arm that Talyn was slithering up on and pet his scaley skin.

"72 inches long?" Estrella gasped, "That's gotta be like, 6 feet long!" She laughed. "Don't be sorry, that's actually kinda cool." She grinned, watching Talyn flick his tongue out as Kale pet him. She pondered the rhyme that Kale had told her. "I never have heard that, although I daresay there's nothing really poisonous where I came from in the States. There's just bigger animals. And it's freaking cold." She grinned.

Kale smiled as she denied the apology, "Yeah, I don't think he'll grow that large." he thought for a moment and looked down at Talyn, Kale's eyes widened at the thought, "I hope not!" he laughed and grinned at Estrella, "Same in Ireland, we don't have many predators, although people believe we have 'horse eels' in some of our lakes. I think it's a myth though.." Kale rolled his eyes sarcastically.

"Horse eels?" Estrella raised her eyebrow. "Excuse my French, but what the heck is that?" She laughed. "Yeah, the States are supposed to have some mythical creatures too, but not like Europe. The Wendigo is one, a Minnesota one. Apparently, they were native Americans or French Canadian Fur trappers that had to resort to cannibalism and are now kind of immortal and feed on humans. I doubt their existence, though." She grinned. "Freaky, huh?"

((lol, I saw Juno yesterday! great movie.))

"I've never seen a horse eel, but it's a 'beast' known for having a horse like head on an eel body." Kale tried to keep a straight face while explaining, but couldn't help but let out a goody laugh, "I think it's a load of BS." Kale listened to what Estrella was explaining, "What do they do? Barge into peoples houses and...eat them?" he laughed.

"A horse head on an eel body?" Estrella laughed, her expression one of disbelief. "No, they wouldn't barge in unless your house is in the middle of the woods. They mostly live in the forests up north, if their legend is supposed to be believed." She grinned, "I'm quite skeptical on their existence, though. Half the time I think my cousin Luke was just trying to scare me."

(("The next time I see that Bleeker kid, I'm gonna punch him in the weiner." =)) ))

"Yep, it's funny the stupid things that people are willing believe." Kale deadpanned with a silly look. "Ohh, so your cousin is one of those people. My brother was the one that convinced me it was real when I was 8." he laughed, and looked to Estrella, "I say we go searching for a Wendigo or whatever when we're there." Kale said with a goofy grin, obviously joking, "We can be The Wendigo Hunters!"

Estrella laughed. "Okay. It's not like we're going to find anything in the Big Woods, but what the heck?" She grinned. "I like the name; Wendigo Hunters."

She giggled. "Although, if they are real, we're kind of screwed."

((hehe, maybe that's what Tristan thinks of Kale? =))
I about died when the dad said that. I seriously thought he was going to do it at the hospital.
and omg, that ultrasound lady was a b1tch.))

((I KNOW!, I was anticipating the moment the whole time...and it never happend. I was kind of sad! Maybe that's what Kale thinks of Tristan! :ph43r: ))

"Nah, we'll kick their butts. We've got Merlin on our side!" he then whipped out his wand and held it up like a weapon, finding it hard to surpass laughter at his goofiness.

Estrella laughed as she watched Kale whip out his wand, giggling as he held it out like a weapon. "Pardon me; I forgot that you'll scare them off with your wand of Doom!" She snorted, and then caught herself, embarrassed.
((Touche... lol! Maybe they should both play a game of Ro cham bo (sp?) and determine a victor then...))

Kale laughed at Estrella's wand comment and began to laugh even harder as he heard her snort. Noting the embarassed look on her face, Kale put his arm around and grinned. "Now, that was cute." he said following with a goofy laugh. Kale put his wand back in his coat pocket, "Yeah, those Wendingos won't know what's coming!"

Estrella smiled, laying her head on Kale's shoulder. "I sounded like a piglet," she said, trying not to snort again as she grinned. "One of my more embarrassing faults. Not exactly cute." She laughed. "I'm sure they won't; they shall fear the Kaleinator and his Wand of Doom!" She rocked back and forth in laughter, unable to stop, feeling as if she were going to pop.
