Nikko was looking forward to the Valentine's dance and still couldn't believe he had a date. Things seemed to be going so well with Estella and he couldn't wait to find her. They had forgotten to plan where to meet up before hand and he had been running a bit late when it came to getting ready. He had gotten stopped two times as he was coming in from the quidditch pitch to be given roses which had taken up more of his time than he realized. But he was here now and absolutely parched. As much as he wanted to track down his date he made a pit stop to get something to drink first. He poured himself a drink and took a moment to collect himself as he took in all the decorations.

Sawyer wasn't having the greatest Valentine's day by a fair margin. He'd already spotted Delilah and Ivy and now all he needed was to run into to Finn and his night would really be complete. He was lurking by the punch bowl, wondering if he could take a leaf out of his own past playbook and just hide under the table for a bit before leaving when he spotted Nikko already there, effectively blocking his chances of ducking under the tablecloth without raising some eyebrows. "Uh, hey, man," he said awkwardly, coming to join Nikko in grabbing some punch instead. Despite playing opposite him on the pitch for a few years now, Sawyer hadn't really spoken to Nikko all that much. He seemed like a chill dude, which might be exactly what Sawyer needed right now.

Nikko didn't notice Sawyer until he spoke. "Hey." he said with a polite smile and moved over slightly so he wasn't blocking the punch bowl. He didn't know much about the Ravenclaw except that he was also a keeper and was pretty sure Estella had mentioned hanging out with him before. But he looked a bit sad and maybe a little distressed so he raised an eyebrow. "How's your Valentine's going?" he asked tentatively, wondering if he wanted to share what was wrong or if he was trying to hid from someone.
